For Menstrual Disorders "I'm 22 and have only been on Loestrin 24 for 5 months. I started taking it because I was having severely irregular periods, and the first two months this pill did not help change that. My doctor told me to wait it out through month 3, which I did, and I'm so glad about it. I absolutely LOVE this pill. I'm more emotional, but like most things in life, I do have some control over how my reactions are, so I can't blame everything on the pill. I have cyclical depression, but this pill has no real effect on it or my anxiety, so I'm lucky. No acne, no weight gain, but I did get a little (though not needed, haha!) boost in cup size. Overall, I recommend this pill to all my friends and everyone who's looking for good birth control."

For Acne "This birth control pill has negatively impacted my life. I am currently suffering from cystic acne, constant bloating, depression, and mood swings. My appetite has increased, but the most notable thing is just how badly I feel. I've been on this pill for 4 months. My hope was that everything would balance out, but it still has not, and it literally feels like this pill is killing me."

For Acne "I have been on Loestrin for about 2 months now, and I am not satisfied with the results so far. I got on this pill to regulate my periods because I am 18 and wouldn't have a period for about 5 or 6 months apart, and the pill has somewhat regulated that, but my acne is absolutely horrible. I never had big problems with acne before, just little breakouts here and there before periods, but now I have horrible acne on my cheeks, and it's left brown spots behind. I am going to either get off the pill completely or change to another if it doesn't get better within the next 2 weeks. I have also gained 5 pounds and gone up a cup size."

For Acne "I started taking this 7 months ago. I take it to control my periods and to help with my skin. I was taking Estrostep, which worked great, but due to price, switched to this. It has made my skin break out severely. I used to get a pimple or two around period time; with this, I keep getting cystic acne that takes weeks to go away. I would not recommend this if you are prone to breakouts."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been on Loestrin 24 for about 7 months now, and everything was fine until the 5th month. I've had dark spotting, bad cramps, and cystic acne on my back. Has made me feel anxious and hungry almost all the time, have gained weight, bad cramps, and the worst part is I have my period every 2 weeks for about 5 days, and it is heavy. I feel depressed, have mood swings, and some hair loss. Doctor has switched me to Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, and I will see how that goes."

For Acne "I have been taking this birth control for a little over a year now. I have never had very heavy bleeding on my period, but once on Loestrin, my period is nonexistent. I noticed my acne getting worse after about a month. I have never had more than a few pimples here and there before, but now I have huge cystic pimples all over my cheeks, chin, and forehead. This is the worst my acne has been, ever! I have been going to a dermatologist for about 6 months, and my acne is not getting any better. I am switching to a different birth control once talking to my OBGYN. I have heard good things about Ortho Lo, so I am going to ask about that."

For Acne "Within the first month, I started getting incredibly emotional, moody, breast tenderness, and spotting. Not to mention, my acne is out of control. I usually get only one or two pimples, but now have seven huge ones on my face. Switching to Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo... hope it makes my acne better."

For Birth Control "I've never had any problems with the length or intensity of my period, but on this pill, I felt sick all the time, dizzy, anxious, moody, and tired. My skin broke out, and I had hot flushes. Every 3 days, I had cramps, and my breasts were tender. I've been running 4-8 miles a day and still gained weight. This pill made me feel like I was pregnant all over again. Not a good choice of pill for me!"

For Birth Control "I am 18 now, and I have been taking this pill for 2 years now. Since I started taking it, my periods, which were already normal to begin with, have significantly decreased. Now, my periods last from 2 days to sometimes not at all. It's scary, but reading some other reviews, I find that this is common. I never had nausea, but I did have some increase in acne. This is still a good pill, but I wish I would have a definite period each month."

For Birth Control "I love this! This is my first form of birth control, and I have only been on it for about two and a half weeks, but I have to say that, so far, it's great. I usually get terrible cramps, pains, nausea, etc. on my period; when I started using this on the first day of my period this month, it all went away. This was my first time NOT throwing up during my period, and I stopped getting those terrible cramps. Even my bloating went away. Plus, for some reason, since I started using this b.c., my occasional pimples have disappeared and stopped showing up. It's all really great, and I feel so much better after taking this!! The only problem (though it's really not a big deal) is that I may have put on a pound since I started using it."

For Acne "Why would you prescribe someone with acne this medication to clear it up if it only makes it so much worse? I had a few pimples and blackheads, and now I'm covered in all sorts of acne, including cystic and whiteheads all over my face. I've cried a lot and have been so embarrassed, and I'm just now realizing from these reviews that it's a trend to have horrible acne from taking these pills. No idea what I should do about it now, except to spread the news to people that are thinking about taking this pill to not waste your time. I and apparently so many others have suffered."

For Birth Control "I loved being on this pill. The only reason why I stopped is because I am way too busy to take it at the same time every day, so I now have a birth control implant. I did not gain weight. Acne... well, I've always had bad acne, even before birth control. I was secretly hoping it would clear it up, which it did not, but it definitely did not get worse. No weight gain, etc. Lightened my cycles for the first year, then afterwards I would regularly get my period every other month, and then I would never get it (and take tests when I was worried.) Towards the end (I was on it for years), I was horrible with taking it on time-- there were days I would even forget to take it. With backup protection, I still was never pregnant. Loved this pill."

For Acne "I had been on Lo Loestrin Fe for about 2 years. During the early first year, I didn't have many problems, occasional breakouts. I had very light periods. I didn't mind it, but it scared me that I got nothing, no drop of anything at all for about 10 months in a row. I thought that cannot be good for my body. Along with that, my acne got the worst it has ever been. The right side of my face broke out in huge pimples side by side. I have never had acne like this. I stopped taking it about 2 weeks ago, considering I was pretty much sure it was due to this birth control. Now I'm struggling to clear my face. Do not take this pill."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "It helped lighten my period by a lot. I used to have it really heavy for 7-8 days, but now I have it for only 4, and it's light. It also helps my acne. I love it. It's also really cheap. $24 a month isn't bad for birth control."

For Menstrual Disorders "I've been on this pill since summer 2007 (three years) for extreme menstrual cramps and bleeding (I spent roughly 16 hours passed out from pain for two days every month and bled for 7-10 days straight. I used so many OTC pain killers that they all ceased to work for me). My experiences with this pill: - No weight gain noticed. Lost pre-pill weight by exercising. - Little to no pain compared to before (1-2 pain pills for the worst two days for about every 3rd period) - Little to no bleeding (I went from super heavy pads to the lightest pads on the market or just dark colored underwear on my heaviest days. Some months, I just don't bleed) - No extra mood swings (and fewer mood swings during my period) - Acne is the same (not better, not worse)"

For Acne "I have been taking this medication for only 12 days. My skin used to be perfect, and I did not even have to wear any makeup. My skin has become horrendous, and I haven't even been on the pill for 2 weeks. I am stopping it tomorrow, and I am going to see if this clears up my face. My cheeks, jawline, and chin broke out so much, and I have never had that happen before. I hate it so much, and I don't even want to leave my house. Please check with your doctor and other people who are on this to see if this is right for you."

"Horrible acne. Outbreak of skin rashes all over. The worst experience ever. I've been taking this for 2 weeks for fibroids and am stopping tomorrow. I cannot sleep because of the rashes all over my legs, back, and arms. Huge chin pimples. Just a terrible product for me."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for 5 months, and it's pretty awesome. No horrific acne. No horrific weight gain. But then again, I hit the gym 5 days a week. In fact, this birth control makes me skip my period entirely. I haven't been pregnant, and I don't have to drop 10 bucks on tampons. Needless to say, this stuff is great."
