For Birth Control "I had nothing but wonderful experiences with Loestrin. No breaking out, weight gain, loss of sex drive, or mood swings. I did get pregnant on this birth control after about 7 or 8 months.... however, I did miss two days of it due to running out and my pharmacy being closed over the weekend. So be very careful to not miss a single day, and you should be perfectly fine. It definitely helped with my endometriosis pains. I stopped taking it for a few months and had to miss work each month because the pains were so awful. I got back on to it ASAP and do not experience those anymore. 10/10 recommend this birth control."

For Birth Control "Well, almost a year on this BC, and at first I thought it was great. Needless to say, I really didn't pay attention. Four to six months in, now rethinking back, I started having anxiety?! Never before experienced this. My acne took a toll, and I’m almost a year on this, and I’m not happy at all. I have no reason to feel unhappy. Anxiety through the roof, chest pains, constant acne, oilier skin. Now reading the reviews after trying absolutely everything I could. Didn’t think birth control could even make you feel this depressed... sounds like I’m not the only one."

For Birth Control "Love this pill. I was on it for 2 years and decided to try other ones that were cheaper. Bad mistake! I never had any side effects from Loestrin, it was just pretty expensive. But after trying other ones, this one is the best out there. No bad acne. Short periods. No depression. No weight gain, which was great because as soon as I left Loestrin, I gained 15 lbs on my new pill. Horrible! I love, love this pill and am willing to pay 45 bucks because it makes me feel good!"

For Acne "No mood swings, which was excellent! But I have been breaking out in places I didn't know I could actually get pimples. I mean, I have a pimple on my thigh. Been on it for three weeks, and after the first week, started breaking out, and it just never stopped."

For Birth Control "After only taking this medicine for 9 days, I've already decided to discontinue use. My side effects are as follows: 1. Mood swings/depression/anxiety: none of these were present before I began taking the pill. I cry for no reason and have a constant feeling of deep, deep worry. I have begun questioning everyone's motives and feel hopeless. 2. Constant sleeping: before the pill, I would have to force myself to go to bed by 10 to be able to fall asleep by 11. I am exhausted by 8 pm now and generally crash by 9. 3. Cramps: stabbing pains, like with a period. 4. Breast tenderness. 5. Pain during intercourse. 6. Acne. 7. Severe nausea. I am stopping this now and getting my life back."

For Birth Control "This pill worked well for me. I was first put on the pill to help heavy periods and for contraception. I’ve tried various brands with bad side effects until this one that I was on for 2 years. Loestrin really agreed with me! I didn’t get any spotting, no skin problems, and I found it easier to lose weight with a small amount of effort. It didn’t help much with my heavy periods, but no pill has. It was good being able to control when my period came. You have to be quite accurate with when you take it every day, though. You also have to give it about 4 months to settle. The mini pill before this was horrific. The mini pill gave me oily skin, acne, and greasy hair within hours of washing. Loestrin was a relief and stopped all those symptoms. I’ve now been off the pill for a year as I wasn’t having sex that much and wanted to see what I’m like natural after 10 years of various pill taking. It’s made me realize how much Loestrin helped with my skin and weight!"

For Acne "I'm 22, and this is my first time being on birth control. At first, I liked it because it regulated my period, and I went up a cup size, but that's the only positive experience I've had with this pill. I'm bloated around my midsection (I'm 5'6" and 107 lbs, and I look 2 months pregnant because of the bloating), my cramps are just as bad as they were off the pill, my breasts hurt so bad, and the biggest thing of all that I hate is that my face went from being flawless to severe acne EVERYWHERE! The pill is also expensive."

For Birth Control "I hated being on this birth control. I switched from the patch that was throwing my liver out of control. My doctor suggested this low-dose birth control. I thought this would be awesome. I was horribly wrong. I went from having a period once a month to bleeding heavily every 2 weeks. After about a month, I started losing a lot of hair, I called my doctor, and he said it could take a few months to normalize. I finally started having a period once a month, but I would start when I still had 8 days of active pills left. Then it went to nothing for 3 months, great, right? Then bam, 2-week heavy period, cramps for days. I noticed my skin was having more breakouts that wouldn't go away. My under-control depression went crazy. Biggest mood swings: one minute I'm happy-go-lucky, the next I'm a rage case, the next moment I'm uncontrollably sad. I finally couldn't handle it and got put on a different birth control. I know every woman is different. But this one definitely wasn't for me."

For Acne "I just started Loestrin about one month ago. Before I started taking it, I had no problems with acne. Most recently, about two weeks ago, I began having the worst breakout of my life-cheeks, chin, forehead! I thought it was from my use of makeup, but now that I have read these posts, I definitely see it is from the pill."

For Acne "I've also never left a review for anything in my life, but reading these responses was a lifesaver for me, so I need to pay it forward. I have been on NuvaRing, Yaz, and Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo over the past 15 years, and my skin has been pretty much flawless my whole life (I'm 29). In April 2016, I told my doctor I wanted to switch to whichever birth control had the lowest dose of hormones, as I figured that was just the healthiest thing to do. After a week on this garbage, I started having horrible cystic acne with whiteheads on my chin and some on my jawline. My diet and exercise routine are super solid. I don't eat dairy or gluten. I'm not on any other medications. So it's pretty obvious the Loestrin FE is the culprit here."

For Birth Control "It has been about a month since I've begun taking this medication. I knew from the start my body would begin to feel different, but I did not know the actual severity until now. I was diagnosed with endometriosis and possibly PCOS, so my doctor put me on birth control as the first step. However, I have gotten a horrible acne spill all over my forehead (I rarely got acne prior to this medication). On top of the acne, I have the weirdest mood swings. Some days, I will be super happy, while other days I just want to bury myself in my blanket and cry all day. I am hoping my doctor prescribes another type of BC that could help in all!"

For Acne "I've taken Lo Loestrin Fe for about 2 and a half years now. I am very prompt about taking it every day at the same time. I never forget to take it. I rarely had acne before I went on, but I do still normally, as before the pill, get an occasional zit, nothing too bad. My period is off every other month, though. Sometimes it's 3-4 days, and other times just 2 days. My period prior to the pill was heavy and a full 7 days, so that's why I first got put on the pill."

For Acne "I started Loestrin 24 a few months ago and was nervous about some side effects I've always heard of from the pill. I was nauseous for only the 1st week, and only got my period for 2 days and had zero cramps even though I used to have to take 3 Advil for the 1st 3 days of my period. No weight gain, only in my breasts (grew a cup size). However, this pill made me break out horribly. I've always broken out a little before my period, but while on this I got multiple huge cysts on my chin and under my nose before my period and my cheeks, which have never broken out before, were breaking out as well. Really no side effects, but the acne was enough to make me go off of it."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "I started taking this medication 25 days ago. On the 17th day, I already had a period, which I hadn't had in 4 months. I noticed I've lost a few pounds, but I don't know if that has anything to do with the pill or not. I feel better, and my acne is not so bad now. The only problem is that it says you will have shorter, lighter periods. Well, I am on the 8th day of my period, and it hasn't been so light. Hopefully, this is only my body's response to not having a period for so long, and it won't always be this long."

For Birth Control "I am almost done with my first pack of this birth control to help with my irregular and painful periods. It has helped with pain and not caused me any pain, but I have gotten horrible acne on my chest and chin, and my face skin has been super red and itchy. I am so glad to see other people are experiencing this. I will no longer be taking this medicine."

For Birth Control "I started taking Loestrin 24 Fe when I was 19 years old for 4 years. I have a slim body, and I'm active. My periods are light, and I don't get cramps or back aches while on my period, and I don't have problems with acne. My periods were just very irregular. I would sometimes get my period the next month, the next week, and even the next three months! And they would last like 1 week, 2 weeks, and even 4 weeks one time! I was on Loestrin for 4 years because it didn't give me any negative side effects. It gave me regular periods, and I never got pregnant. I stopped taking it because my doc told me they discontinued it! So she prescribed me Minastrin 24 Fe. I looked up the reviews for it and didn't like what I saw. So I've been off bc for 2 years."

For Birth Control "I have a newfound love for this birth control after switching from it to Seasonique to get out of having a period every month. The Seasonique made me gain weight, and I broke out horribly. Been back on Loestrin a week, and the weight is gone, my face is back to normal, my poor breasts are coming back (this birth control makes my breasts go up at least a cup size, awesome side effect). Besides the breast growth, it has also not failed me as a birth control method, I'm always sure to take it exactly on time every day."

For Birth Control "I started taking this birth control because my doctor told me that I would have a 2-3 day period, so I was open to try it. After about 3 weeks, I had noticed I had huge pimples all over my face. I never had perfectly clear skin (I usually have 2 or 3 on my face), but I never had HUGE bumps all over my face. I have now realized that this birth control is the reason for it. I am coming off of it TODAY!"

For Birth Control "I've been on Loestrin 24 Fe for about two years, and it's been perfect. My periods have gone away, I usually bleed for a couple of days a month, which happens during the last two days of the iron pills. I have no cramping at all, no more mood swings. I used to have VERY heavy periods, and this is heaven compared to before. A warning though: you will get brown discharge sometimes if your period isn't as often or heavy. I've been on three different birth control pills, and this is the only one where I haven't gained weight, acne, or cramps."

For Menstrual Disorders "I'm 22 and have only been on Loestrin 24 for 5 months. I started taking it because I was having severely irregular periods, and the first two months this pill did not help change that. My doctor told me to wait it out through month 3, which I did, and I'm so glad about it. I absolutely LOVE this pill. I'm more emotional, but like most things in life, I do have some control over how my reactions are, so I can't blame everything on the pill. I have cyclical depression, but this pill has no real effect on it or my anxiety, so I'm lucky. No acne, no weight gain, but I did get a little (though not needed, haha!) boost in cup size. Overall, I recommend this pill to all my friends and everyone who's looking for good birth control."

For Birth Control "I was given this prescription to help with very mild acne at the time, but mostly to help with my irregular cycle and unusually long periods. The first month I was taking this, my period lasted about 4 or 5 weeks, much longer than the usual week or a week and a half. I also noticed how my acne, specifically on my chin and jawline, worsened, which was disappointing, as I was sure this pill would help get rid of my acne, not make it worse. My cramps are terrible around this time, and my breasts hurt so much it’s nearly unbearable. I am 4 months in, and I am never taking this again. The only good thing about this is that after the first period, the rest are short and regulated. Would not recommend this to anyone unless you can put up with the pain and cramps and acne."
