"I have tried many pills and this one was better than the rest but I am switching because I get terrible migraines. On this pill I was getting 16-20 days of migraines even though this has the lowest, constant dose of estrogen. Multi-phasic pills gave me 20-25 days of migraines. I switch to an intrauterine device and had 1-2 days but I don't want to deal with the cramping again so I am going to try something else. Good Birth Control but bad for migraines."

"I've been on Loestrin 24 Fe for about two years, and it's been perfect. My periods have gone away, I usually bleed for a couple of days a month which happens during the last two days of the iron pills. I have no cramping at all, no more mood swings. I used to have VERY heavy periods and this is heaven compared to before. A warning though, you will get brown discharge sometimes if your period isn't as often or heavy. I've been on three different birth control pills and this is the only one where I haven't gained weight, acne, or cramps."

"I have been taking these pills for a few months now. I have been experiencing major sweating issues. I sweat through most of my clothes and experience "hot flash" type feeling through out the day. I did like that this pill has made my periods extremely light and they only last for about 2 days. That is nice but I am not sure if I can deal with the excessive sweating."

"I've been using Loestrin 24 for about 4 months now and I like it a lot. It completely took away my period(YAY)! I do sometimes get in really bad moods for no reason at all and I sometimes feel like I am gaining weight. However I do really like it and will continue to use it."

"I’ve been taking this for about 3 months now and I’m MISERABLE. I was on a different Loestrin before (a 21 day) and that caused me to gain a TON of weight, and couldn’t control my eating habits bc cravings were so bad. Period was much better. BUT THIS ONE? awful. I start off okay mental wise the first two weeks, but like others said, I break out horribly on my chin & it won’t clear up. THEN, my last 2 weeks my anxiety & depression get so bad I can barely function. It’s gotten so bad. On top of that I’ve had a period every 2 weeks. My last 2 weeks of the pill packet as well I’ve had consistent cramps. Not enough to have me doubling over before I started birth control but enough that it’s quite uncomfortable. I’ve also started to notice it makes my boobs extremely sore. I am very sensitive to medications and noticed that I’ve consistently had yeast infections that I can’t get rid of because I keep taking the pill."

"I have been using this for over 3 years now. I originally went on this pill because of heavy periods. Within 6 months of taking the pill my periods were lighter and shorter. After taking this pill for a year I now don't have periods (may be 1 or 2 times a year). I take pregnancy tests monthly to be sure. I experienced no problems with this pill."

"Alright, so I've been taking this for a month, and I was stoked about it first because I love taking birth control, until going on 3 weeks later and I am still on my period, I've had really bad constant mood swings, high anxiety and extremely high depression. I thought that it was normal me being me, and I thought that the period was just all me. I was trying to keep all negative thoughts out of my head because before I started taking this, I was fine. No anxiety, no depression, 6 day long periods, and my anger was controlled. I read the reviews, and now I know what all of this is from so I thank everyone for the reviews! I am quitting this immediately and switching to a different one"

"I LOVE THIS! I have been on 2 other types of birth control before Loestrin and they both made me a crazy person! I don't have any mood swings and haven't gained any weight, in fact I've lost weight! The only negative thing I have to say is I'm pretty sure that it made my breasts bigger, but hubby isn't complaining. It can be pricey if you don't have insurance, but for me its worth it because I have zero side effects. The first month I had spotting and now I get my period every month, its very light, and lasts 2-3 days. Its best to remember that every birth control is different for each individual. I was skeptical about trying Loestrin 24 when I read the reviews, but I tried it anyways and I don't regret it!"

"I just started this pill, this is my first month and I'm about two weeks in. I feel like no one this new has left any comments (I've been searching for answers and relatable experiences on it). I figure I might help a few people who are going to be in my position. My breast have gotten a bit bigger in just two weeks (half a cup size). No moodiness so far, in fact it may have bettered my mood. On my 11th day (today) I got a light period. I had cramps, but not Normal cramps and no where near as painful. When I woke up I felt pain in my mid abdomen, right above my belly button. As for weight gain, I feel bloated, but I always have problems with bloating - so I would need more time before I blame the birth control."

"I was on LoLoestrin for 3 years and finally discontinued it in June 2018. The entire time I was on it I noticed a lot of mood swings and anxiety but didn’t really much of it for the first 2 years. Then within the last year it started to get worse and worse, I was crying all of the time, constantly sad and arguing with my husband a lot! I had turned into someone that I was not and I started thinking about what could be causing this!? I decided to stop the pills and I’m starting to feel like myself again! The mood swings and sadness gradually stopped! I know these pills effect everyone differently but unfortunately this one was not the one for me. I’m trying an IUD next so we will see how that goes!"

"I am 18 now and I have been taking this pill for 2 years now. Since I started taking it my periods, which were already normal to begin with, have significantly decreased. Now my periods last from 2 days to sometimes not at all. It's scary but reading some other reviews I find that this is common. I never had nausea, but I did have some increase in acne. This is still a good pill but I wish I would have a DEFINITE period each month."

"I've been on this pill for 5 months, and it's pretty awesome. No horrific acne. No horrific weight gain. But then again, I hit the gym 5 days a week. In fact, this birth control makes me skip my period entirely. I haven't been pregnant, and I don't have to drop 10 bucks on tampons. Needless to say, this stuff is great."

"At first, it made me a little groggy. After 6 months, it has made me extremely fatigued all the time. My muscles feel constantly weak, regardless of how much I sleep or exercise. I have lost hair and gained some weight. It also made my breasts very tender (and slightly larger). I get headaches, sweat profusely, and have trouble focusing. "

"I am a healthy, 15 year old girl that decided to start taking Loestrin 24 as a birth control. I've been on it for 4 months. My periods are only for the 4 days that I am off the pill, and I spot irregularly in between periods, but not very often. This pill has made me cry much more easily, but I have not become depressed. I haven't gotten pregnant either, so it works. This pill is very effective and doesn't have many side effects, recommended."

"I’ve been on lolo for a year now and I totally love it. I’ve never experienced any side effects besides weight gain, which is pretty common when taking birth control and I’ve also been home from school all summer. I have the lightest and shortest periods now, sometimes I don’t even have one. I love having no periods especially since I used to have terrible cramps and heavy bleeding, although it is bad for pregnancy scares. I was on tri-previfem before lolo and I absolutely ire3ally don't! I had the worst side affects especially with the yeast infections that would never go away. Lolo was the only pill that worked for me and it is amazing!"

"I started Loestrin 24 to regulate my periods. But I didn't like being on the pill, I gained weight, had mood swings, and lost my sex drive. I always felt bloated and it was so uncomfortable. The only good thing that came from taking this pill was that after I stopped taking it my periods stayed consistent."

"I started taking Loestrin in Sep 2015 after experiencing weight gain, general sadness and headaches on Yasmin. At the time I was starting a new job & training for a marathon so initially put my anxiety down to that. However after completing the race & becoming settled & happy in my new job I still experiencing severe anxiety, having panic attacks and racing negative thoughts. I stopped taking Loestrin, within days the symptoms subsided. This month (Feb 2016) I foolishly decided to give the pill another chance convincing myself I had been over-reacting to the side effects previously. Within 4 days the symptoms returned, stopped taking & already getting back to normal"

"I love this! This is my first form of birth control and I have only been on it for about two and a half weeks, but I have to say that, so far, its great. I usuallly get terrible cramps, pains, nausea, etc. on my period; when I started using this on the first day of my period this month, it all went away. This was my first time NOT throwing up during my period, and I stopped getting those terrible cramps. Even my bloating went away. Plus, for some reason, since I started using this b.c., my occasional pimples have disappeared and stopped showing up. It's all really great and I feel so much better after taking this!! The only problem (though it's really not a big deal) is that I may have put on a pound since I started using it."

"I never got pregnant taking Loestrin 24 Fe, so it was successful at doing its job, however, there were a few side effects. I actually lost weight while taking it- since that was my aim. But, it did make me very emotional and very sexually interested. Also, I spot bled throughout the entire month. I would typically just wear a panty liner every day- kind of annoying. That's why I give it a 7/ 10- it was effective at doing what it was supposed to do, but it certainly did not improve the overall quality of my life."

"i have been taking Loestrin since I was 16, and I am now 19. I have to say it is absolutely wonderful. I initially began taking it as a way to lessen the flow of my monthly, but it is also an effective birth control in case of "accidents". I have not gained weight, although I find it more difficult to lose weight. My period is now nearly non-existent, and lasts for maybe a day. I would recommend to everyone."

"I loved this birth control, my first go round! Off of it for a year then back on it for 6 months. Off it again because it started giving me horrible sinus infections (is a stated side effect). Wish it didn't since its the perfect birth control. Just didn't work out for me. Definitely would recommend!"

"I was on Loestrin for about 3 months after a year on generic OrthoCyclen. Initially it was a great switch because the last one made me extremely moody, but the new one had no emotional effects. The first two months we annoying because I was having breakthrough bleeding. By the 3rd month I finally had a normal cycle, but after finishing the 3rd pack I noticed a LOT of my hair was falling out! Apparently Loestrin is a high androgen pill that can cause hair loss, and with a history of hair loss in my family I should never have been on it in the first place. Please talk to you doctor about this side effect before starting; I've lost over 20% of my hair in the last week and it may last another year."

"I have been on this birth control for about 8 months. My hormones went crazy and my boyfriend agrees. It has helped prevent pregnancy, but gave me some spotting close to my periods if I maybe did not take it right on time. I like this birth control but I may try a different one. I used to be such a laid back person before this, but now I can be very moody. I did not gain any weight except for a small increase in cup size."
