Blisovi Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "So I’ve been on it for about a month and I’ve been feeling pretty much no different. I have anxiety and depression normally and I didn’t notice the medication make it worse or anything, I actually feel a lot happier which is weird and totally not what I expected. My skin is clearing up too which is a major plus. I use it for really bad period cramps and I have noticed some spotting before my period starts but no excruciating pain like I had before. I would literally not be able to move or walk and now I can actually walk to the kitchen and cook myself a meal. My only negative would be I noticed it made my breasts bigger which I wasn’t really looking for but if that’s what you want go crazy I guess lol."

Lo Loestrin Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL. This is my first ever drug review. I was on this pill for only 9 days. This pill gave me severe anxiety and intrusive thoughts that I am still dealing with almost a month after, although they’ve gotten a little better. This was the worst pill I’ve ever taken in my life. I had fatigue, heavy chest, random pains in my body, severe depression , I could not think or form a thought, anxiety and fear. And I developed scary intrusive thoughts I never had before. My libido left and I also experienced dryness I never had before. Only in 9 days! It was awful! Quit this pill and do not take it. Most of the side effects have left but I’m still having the fear and OCD and I’m scared it screwed me up permanently."

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I have been taking Loestrin for about 5 months now. And let me tell you... I gained no weight but it certainly reshaped my body. It made my breasts transform from a c 34 to DD 34. And my rear end also had more junk added to the trunk. The boyfriend isn't complaining but also the first month I was a raging lunatic with mood swings from hell. I also spotted like a moron for a couple of months till my body got used to it. Honestly, if you are terrified about gaining weight then Loestrin 24 Fe won't do it. I haven't gained a blessed pound. And if I did it went straight to my butt and my boobs. It will not make you gain. Just make your breasts bigger than the sun...Ha..ha."

Blisovi Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I was on Blisovi Fe for a little over 4 months. The first 2 months on this pill I felt zero side effects except for light brown spotting around the week I would normally have my period and during the placebo week. Then beginning the next 2 months the side effects began to reveal themselves. I experienced a significantly decreased libido, no interest in my partner or sex, painful sex (during and sometimes after), mysterious pelvic pain, random nausea, mental fog, subdued emotions, an overall feeling of sadness that couldn’t be explained, and unbearable migraines on the second day of the placebo weeks which left me immobile for the entire day. The only benefits were that it cleared up my acne and protected me against pregnancy. This pill was not for me and I will be switching. For reference, I’m in my early 20’s and weigh 132lbs."

Junel Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I was on Junel FE 1/20 for two years with no issues at all. My heavy periods were finally light and I rarely got cramps. When COVID hit Walgreens told me that this birth control was on backorder because the manufacturer was changing the formula. Transferred my script to Giant Eagle because they had a big supply. November 2020 rolls around and I start having a period in the middle of the pill pack. It caused me so much anxiety and money because my doctor ordered all these tests to see why I was bleeding. Was becoming severely depressed with the darkest thoughts I have ever had in my life. I would cry for days for no reason. I felt so "out of body." After three months of on and off bleeding, horrible anxiety and depression and a host of other symptoms my husband made me go off this pill cold turkey. All my symptoms are now gone and I feel so much better. This pill should be taken off the market for sure! Whatever they changed is messing with so many woman."

Lo Loestrin Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "Former BC pill hater here. Other brands gave me massive mood swings. On Yaz and Apri I was basically Jason Voorhees. Swore I'd never take BC again, but now in my 20s, irregular periods and recurrent ovarian cysts forced my hand. Bottom line: I LOVE this pill!! Cons: Sensitive breasts. Pros: Greatly improved mood; I feel like I'm always having a good day. NO mood swings. Minimal cramps, light periods, fuller breasts, skin is great, can't stay away from my husband, and condoms are out of here. Doesn't get better than this. If you're on the fence, or sensitive to hormones like me, this may be your good stuff. I'm glad I didn't listen to anyone else and just tried it for myself."

Lo Loestrin Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I have a very sensitive body. I ended up in the hospital after 2 weeks of using Ortho Tri Cyclen and was very scared of going back on any birth control pill. However, I'm on my second month of using Lo Loesterin Fe and so far it's been great! The only side effects I've experienced thus far are breast tenderness, bloating of my breasts, and very little mood swings. Other than that I haven't had any other problems. Furthermore, I haven't gained any weight nor experienced any nausea. My sex drive has shot up the roof rather than decreasing. Must say, overall this pill has been great compared to other pills I've used!"

Junel Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I felt compelled to review this medication because of how scared I was when reading such scary recipes and side effects. I had tried taking Yasmin which made me gain weight, become increasingly moody and depressed and eventually stopped taking that. When it was time to start up again I was so nervous with Junel but I have nothing but good things to say. No weight gain, no acne, no moodiness, I have a very light, scheduled period, and it does what it's supposed to - prevents pregnancy. I've been on it about 2.5 years now. Love love it."

Lo Loestrin Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "If you’re like me, you went on here looking at reviews before you started LoLo (Lo Loestrin FE) and psyched yourself out from negative reviews. I knew I would have my own experience, positive or negative. Didn’t mean I couldn’t prepare for the worse. I wanted to share my positive experience. This is my first time on birth control (I’m 26 years old). I wanted to get on birth control for many reasons, but the main for horrific periods. A gyno recommended starting LoLo, a low hormone dosage. I had concerns for birth control but two months in and I can say that I’m happy with it so far! Surprisingly nothing has changed in regards to the negative effects. Like you most likely already know, LoLo will probably have you skip your period all together. For me, true. If you’re sexually active, this may give some scare. No cramps, no crazy periods. Also my skin stayed the same, maybe better? I never had crazy acne and no weight gain from this either. I hope this helped you a little bit."

Larin Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "*PLEASE READ* I never put reviews for medication I have been on but I wanted to WARN all the girls who have to be put on this generic pill for some reason. I used to take Lo Loestrin and it was amazing however my insurance stopped covering it so I was given Larin Fe. WORST MISTAKE OF MY DAMN LIFE.... At first I didn't have any symptoms but within a month, I've hit the darkest of spots of my life, insomnia, shakiness, HORRIBLE anxiety, breakouts (not severe), acid reflux, lack of appetite. Sadly, there was not single day in that month where I felt normal, I was going crazy with mood swings, depression, I barely could leave my bed, I even had several panic attacks. I wish I could say a positive side to this drug but THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING POSITIVE ABOUT THIS DRUG. Believe these negative reviews please, and if you don't feel an side effects right now, the second you feel it please switch to a different birth control. It won't get any better waiting."

Junel 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "So, I would first like to say that I have never done a review on anything before. But, after reading so many horrible reviews on this pill, I thought maybe I could help women out there make a choice about this birth control. For starters, I am a woman who’s anxiety has anxiety no lie lol! So, when I read these reviews before taking the pill I legit thought I was either 1) going to lose my mind, 2) have no sex drive 3) gain tons of weight. And that was scary in itself. But, I have always suffered from irregular periods and I had to get them under control. I am into my second month on this pill and I absolutely love it! No mood swings (other than the normal week before period) no depression, no extra anxiety, no weight gain and my periods were WAY lighter and barely any cramping and lasted 4 days instead of 7. The first 4 days of taking the pill I did feel a little extra tired and a little off. But, after that it’s been perfectly fine! Highly recommend!!"

I have struggled with pretty severe anxiety, depression, mood swings, and suicidal tendencies for a long time. After reading many negative reviews of a variety of brands, I was very reluctant to try it. I've been taking Blisovi 24 Fe for a month now and I am shocked by the results. I am the happiest and most even-tempered I have been in a very long time! I no longer have moods swings, I have not had any suicidal thoughts, and my depression and anxiety have slowly faded away. I have been prescribed actual anti-depression/anxiety meds in the past which only made me worse, so I am so shocked that this pill actually helped me! I don't think there's any telling how you will react to the pill or a certain brand of it until you try it. But if you are scared to, don't be! I'm so happy I decided to push past my fears and give it a try! Worst comes to worst, you can just stop taking it."

Lo Loestrin Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I wanted to get on birth control to regulate my period but please please PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS. I gained 30 pounds in a 3 month timespan because it caused my appetite to sky rocket. My appetite went back to normal after stopping it thank goodness. I had my period for 20 days straight, broke my eczema out on my face really bad, acne everywhere, constant headaches, my mood was horrid, and I felt so exhausted 24/7. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. But again, everyone’s body is different so it might work for you! But still, be weary."

Microgestin Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "My doctor put me on this medicine for dysmenorrhea. I LOVE this birth control pill. I have NEVER had any bad side effects from it, no acne, no mood swings. I only have light bleeding/no bleeding and cramping when I do have my periods, which only last 2-4 days. But the best part, NO WEIGHT GAIN. I have actually lost 30lbs since I have been on it. I really love this pill and would not go to any other birth control pill."

Minastrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "Unlike most of the individuals who posted reviews, I had not been previously taking Loestrin 24 Fe. (This is actually my first experience with hormonal birth control.) I am in my fifth month of taking Minastrin and have had zero side effects. In fact, it drastically reduced the length and severity of my periods (2 days of panty liners vs. 7 days of super tampons), I no longer suffer from cramps or bloating, and I actually lost 5-6 lbs. It seems like I probably needed my hormones regulated to begin with. Maybe it's the transition from one pill to another that is causing issues for so many? I feel fortunate ::knock on wood:: that things worked out very well in my case."

Lo Loestrin Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "If you're going to take this medication, I highly recommend you monitor your moods and be honest with yourself if you feel like you're out of control. I have been on this medication for two weeks and have the most turmultous two weeks of my life. Hypersensitivity, crying spells, anger, depression, anxiety- I've been a crazy woman. It only just dawned on me that it has to be the medication. I wish I would have stopped taking it the minute the craziness started, it would have saved me a lot of tears and time!"

Aurovela Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "After being on Junel FE 1/20 for forever I had to switch pharmacies. The new pharmacy gave me Aurovela (which is supposed to be an appropriate substitute) without even consulting me. DO NOT let them make this switch on you if you already have issues with anxiety and depression!!!"

Junel Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "It is very important to understand that everyone's body reacts differently to different methods of hormonal birth control. My doctor told me to at least give it a try and after 3 months if I was having bad problems she'd switch me. The initial adjustment part had a few minor rough spots that in no way severely affected my day to day life: mainly I had some moodiness, and I had some light irregular bleeding. But all that totally cleared up after the second month of being on it, and now I have no symptoms at all. I haven't gotten pregnant, and my periods are lighter and shorter which is a huge bonus I wasn't expecting. If you are feeling unsure about this birth control talk to your doctor, don't be scared away by negative reviews. Maybe you will react badly but maybe you won't, however you have to try it to find out. I just wanted to throw this review out here to say this birth control has worked like a gem for me."

Lo Loestrin Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "LADIES. If you have had a bad pill experience, I hear you. Comments on how even if you’re having side effects like bad periods, migraines, weight gain, anxiety, or depression that “you haven’t been on it long enough to tell”, need to stop. It absolutely isn’t ok to invalidate someone’s experience because they didn’t go through the 3 months of hell that is somehow a standard. If you’re having these side effects, they aren’t ok and your body is trying to clue you in. I was on birth control for 5 years, lolo for over half of that. I thought the “good luck on not having your life ruined!” mentality was ok. Then the anxiety, depression, and ER visits hit. Nearly a year of my life was gone. It landed me on Prozac temporarily. I’ve never had mental health issues before in my life. I’m 5 months off the pill and am now feeling more like myself. My message is this: listen to your body. If something isn’t right, whether it be after a week or a year, it isn’t. Trust yourself."

Hailey 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "This was prescribed for Endometriosis/PMDD. Obviously everyone's experience is different, but taking this pill actually improved my quality of life. My "periods" are very, very light and last maybe 2 days at most, so it may be more alarming for someone who is sexually active, but for me this is way better than horrible cramps and bleeding through my pjamas the first two nights of my periods before going on the pill (and I spend like no money on sanitary supplies anymore). Any bleeding is predictable (I'm not spotting before my placebo pills). My PMDD gave me brain fog, fatigue, attention issues, mega cravings, and really bad emotional symptoms (all the symptoms people say the pill will give you). After only one month on Hailey 24 Fe these symptoms were way reduced if not gone. My acne may have gone down slightly, esp on my back. No weight gain. This pills seems to get average to bad ratings, but if you're suffering from endo/PMDD I would recommend at least giving it a shot. It's made me super happy."

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I am 28 years old, 125lbs, extremely active with dance, gym and sports. I take the pill at just about the same time everyday, give or take 15 minutes. Have a pretty healthy diet. I started Loestrin to prevent pregnancy. I've been on it for 3 weeks and for the most part happy so far. Here are my symptoms: Wk 1 --> Severe bloating, daily nausea. 5 lb weight gain, but i'm thinking that was due to not being able to workout due to feeling dizzy. Wk 2 --> Bloating gone. Nausea gone. Feeling back to normal. Some mild spotting for a day. Increased a cup size. Skin looks great and feels smoother. Wk 3 --> Feel perfectly normal. Lost the weight I gained the 1st week."

Junel 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I am 19 years old and have been on Junel 1/20 since I was 16 years old due to really heavy periods where I was bleeding through super tampons in 30 minutes. I thought I would share my experience since there seem to be a ton of bad reviews and wanted to shed some light. No side effects! Weight gain was zero. It has made my boobs bigger. Sex drive actually increased. no acne. I take the pill continuously due to my horrible periods and I never get a period unexpectedly. This is also a very low dose birth control that I was put on because high dose pills make me throw up so if you have that issue I suggest this medication! I highly suggest you give it a shot! I was so worried when I started it due to all the negative reviews but everyone is different and it doesn’t hurt to try because you can’t always change :)"

Junel Fe 1.5/30 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I am a healthy 20 yr old. I've only been on birth control for a little over a year now. Previous to Junel Fe 1.5/30 I was on Blisovi. But last time I went to get my prescription filled they gave me Junel instead. I've just completed my second pack. In this second month I've really been struggling, these past couple of weeks I am nauseated every day, usually at night. I've lost my appetite completely, I rarely eat anymore. This is REALLY starting to worry me. I'm losing weight, my breast size has increased. I have terrible anxiousness and I feel so in my head, depressed with scary dark thoughts (not like me at ALL). I also feel very detached/unemotional. TMI I don't think I'm pregnant but I've been having irregular periods, they come close to the middle of the pack instead of during the inactive pills. My periods are all dark blood (black and brown) and usually very clotted looking. I'm not bashing this pill I just don't think it's really agreeing with my body. I hope this helps someone!"

Lo Loestrin Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "My doctor decided to put me on this pill because I was basically having 2 periods a month taking Beyaz. I honestly knew nothing much about lo lo before taking it but my doctor told me she had high hopes giving me this pill. So far I’m halfway through my second pack and haven’t had any negative symptoms. I suffer from anxiety and depression and neither of those have gotten worse since I’ve been taking this pill. I’m also super petite and workout daily so weight gain is always a concern for me and if anything I’ve lost a couple pounds since I’ve been on this pill. I wanted to share my experience because I do see there are a lot of negative reviews and I wanted to share my positive one. The only reason I didn’t give this pill 10 stars is because I haven’t gotten my period since taking it and although I love not having one, I am sexually active so it makes me a little nervous. But all in all so far so good. I’m 26 for reference."
