For Birth Control "Worked in that I didn’t get pregnant. But came with weight gain, headaches, loss of sex drive, and moodiness/depression. These came as a gradual onset, so it took me a while to figure out the cause. But I just stopped taking it a few days ago and already noticed I feel better."

For Birth Control "I have bad fibromyalgia, and periods cause flare-ups to the point I cannot function—so my doc told me to take the first 3 weeks of each pack and switch to a new pack (no sugar pills) so I won’t have any periods! So far, I have no headaches, no cramping, cravings, or acne! I might be a tad more irritated, but it’s not like other BCs I’ve tried where it’s full-on rage! I also suffer from anxiety and depression, but with Blisovi, I feel confident and secure in myself! A little bit of sore breasts, but it’s so nice to have my hormones feel balanced and at ease for once! I’ve tried Tri-Lo Sprintec, Lo Loestrin, and a few other low-dose ones this year, and those side effects were just too strange to continue (like nausea and abdominal pain)! I’m very pleased thus far with Blisovi! And here I was about to give up on trying anymore due to months of trial and error."

For Birth Control "I took this pill for only a week. I had nausea, vomiting, and the worst headaches. I already had anxiety, but in just a few days, it intensified. I know my Dr. said it takes time to adjust, but there’s no way I could live through the migraines from this pill and still do everyday life!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking this for almost a month now, and I think my side effects are beginning to kick in. My acne has gotten much worse. I went from no active pimples to six painful cystic ones overnight. I’ve been having a lot of trouble sleeping, restless really, and have been getting headaches. This is all I have so far, but I figure I’d share because I read this thread prior to even starting the pill."

For Birth Control "It’s been a little over a month for me. I wanted to give it more time, but I have been extremely emotional. I feel like crying all the time for no reason, and I am overly sensitive. I struggle with depression and anxiety, and I was hoping it would have helped. I’ve also gained nearly 10 pounds in the month I’ve been on it (I’m 22 and run about 3 miles a day). I’ve had headaches every day, and I was super nauseous when I first started the pill (it went away after a week). I wish I could give this pill more time, but I’m feeling like things are getting worse than better. I went on the pill to help with my extremely bad PMS-ing (sadness), but I feel sad all the time now."

For Birth Control "I used to be on Gildess for years and never had a problem with it. When they discontinued it, I was prescribed Blisovi. When I first got my period, I had insane headaches and thought I just needed to adapt to the pill. My periods on Gildess lasted like 3-4 days, now on Blisovi, they last over a week and are heavy. In 2 months, I have gained over 10 lbs, and I work out 5-6 days a week, and my breast size went up a cup. I called my physician after reading everybody's reviews and experiencing all the negative symptoms."

For Birth Control "At first, I was given Junel Fe, but then my insurance switched me to Blisovi Fe (not that I liked Junel Fe either). I developed an eczema rash and horrible mood swings on Junel Fe, as well as chronic headaches. Blisovi Fe came with the same bad mood swings and frequent headaches. My eczema rash went down slightly, but it's still present, so I will be switching medications as soon as possible. I understand that everyone reacts differently to birth control, but I did not have a good reaction to either brand for this hormone combo, so I will be trying a different hormone combination entirely."

For Birth Control "I got this Blisovi Fe 1/20 birth control for prevention of another ovarian cyst bursting. Before this, the only other birth control I had for any period of time was the Implanon implant. The Implanon didn’t agree with my body, but I kept it the full 3 years anyway to prevent pregnancy. Blisovi Fe 1/20 doesn’t really agree with me either. I’ve been on it for 6-7 months, and I get horrible nausea if I don’t take it before bed. I get headaches all the time now. I’ve lost my appetite almost completely. Today I had such extreme nausea that was only relieved by throwing up three times. My sleeping pattern is all out of whack. I'm not 100% sure this pill is to blame, but it’s the only thing I’ve been doing differently lately. I tried the NuvaRing for a while as well, and that didn’t agree with me either. Not sure what I’ll do."

For Birth Control "I was originally on Junel, but my pharmacy changed it to Blisovi. I figured all would be fine since it should basically be the same thing, just generics of each other. Well, I was wrong. So wrong. I only took it for a month because of how sick it made me. Constant nausea to the point of dry heaving. Headaches, which of course did not help the nausea. I wanted to try to give it a month, but I couldn't take the last two active pills because I was so sick. The day after I stopped taking it, I felt about 80% better. And two days after I stopped, I felt 100% normal. I will never recommend this to anyone. I know every person is different, but this was the worst experience I've ever had in my 12 years of taking birth control."

For Birth Control "Birth control is different for everyone. Been on this for a few months and no noticeable changes in weight or acne. Only issue is if I forget to take it for a day or two, I’ll spot for the next few days. Maybe the only side effect is a more depressed mood and an increase in headaches, but that could also be attributed to changes in lifestyle. Hard to tell."

For Birth Control "The moment I started taking this pill, my experience was awful. I have now been on it for almost 4 months and would have extreme headaches, cramps, and very heavy and long periods. Now, I'm getting spells of terrible anxiety and depression, upper abdominal pain, nausea, and can barely keep my contacts on my eyes. I've never had these problems before and am now trying to detox this god-awful pill from my body. I never had this issue with other pills, but this is personally the worst."

For Birth Control "I stopped taking birth control for 8 years and was prescribed this medicine for heavy periods. Within a few days of taking this medicine, I noticed really bad headaches and acne, which I normally don't have. This medicine made me feel funny in the head. Not worth it. I'd rather suffer with heavy periods."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for about 6 months now. I was scared at first because of the reviews but thought I would give it a try. My periods come when they aren't supposed to, and then have almost completely stopped (which freaks me out). I have horrible headaches that are just getting more frequent, and my acne has gotten worse. It's not a lot of acne, but it's frequent, in the same spot and cyst-like. Needless to say, it does its job, but not the right one for me."

For Birth Control "I was switched to this after my pharmacy stopped carrying my prior BC, and it has been rough. I’ve taken two different prescriptions since I started taking BC, and I’ve never felt side effects the way I did with Blisovi. Almost immediately, I saw mood swings-getting angry/emotional about EVERYTHING along with days where I couldn’t find anything to be happy about (I do not have depression). When it was time to actually have a period, the flow was worse than I’ve ever experienced, and it came with terrible headaches. I couldn’t handle the idea of even a chance of feeling these side effects another month, so I changed pharmacies and went back to my old prescription. I struggled with everything about this pill, definitely not for me."

For Birth Control "I was taking both Junel Fe and Microgestin Fe, depending on which pharmacy I was closest to, for over a year. I never had any problems with them. In fact, they made my skin clear and made my periods extremely light and less painful. When my insurance changed my pharmacy, I was given Blisovi Fe. Off the bat, I noticed changes I didn’t like. I was feeling anxious all the time for no apparent reason. My skin was breaking out. I began feeling really depressed and getting bad headaches. I also have nightmares almost every night now, which may or may not be caused by Blisovi. My placebo week period was heavy and painful. There have been no substantial changes in my lifestyle or product choices that would explain these changes. They all began when I started Blisovi. It’s the only explanation that makes sense, since I take no other meds and, as stated, have not undergone any lifestyle changes. I gave Blisovi a 2-month trial, and it didn’t work out. At least I didn’t get pregnant on it."

For Birth Control "I was put on this birth control to regulate my periods that were coming every two weeks. I started it on the Sunday following the start of my period that began the day before. During the first pack, I did notice a constant slight headache, and I started my period the Thursday of my 3rd week of active pills. Due to already having had a period, I chose not to force a withdrawal bleed on the inactive week and just started straight into a new pack of pills. I felt like I was about to start (bloating, backache, cramps) starting on the Friday of my third week, but only had a little brown spotting, so this month I decided to take the inactive pills and force the withdrawal bleed in hopes of helping stop the spotting. It is now Friday of inactive pills of the second month, and I had spotting until Tuesday and nothing since then. The period symptoms were much milder than normal and no actual bleeding, but I feel as if that was it, and I will be back on active pills starting Sunday. No weight gain."

For Birth Control "I'm 32 and have never been on birth control but decided to give it a try because my periods have always been bad, and recently my ovulation has turned painful too. My gyno prescribed Blisovi Fe, and I started taking the pills the Sunday after my period started. Within 12 hours, I had horrible nausea and vomiting. Then came the anxiety, headache that wouldn't go away, fatigue, and constipation. I felt like I wanted to jump out of my own skin. It made me feel crazy. After 2 pills, I stopped, and now nearly 48 hours later, I still have a headache and horrible fatigue."

For Birth Control "I started this pill about a month ago, and three weeks into it, I began experiencing some of the worst side effects I've ever had. I had a headache, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, blurred vision, fatigue, and extreme anxiety, which I have never had before at this excessive level. I called my doctor and then took myself to urgent care, they were talking about diagnoses from complicated migraine up to stroke. I will never take this again, I would definitely look into this pill very thoroughly before taking it."

For Birth Control "My insurance company force-switched me to this birth control. At almost 25 years old, I'm experiencing worse acne than I ever have before in my life. I'm also experiencing headaches and weight gain. Terrible experience with Blisovi."

For Birth Control "Horrible, horrible, horrible. Spotted for several months and headaches galore. Had to take two pills per day just to stop spotting, and even then - no luck. I called my doctor who switched me to Loestrin, which is much better. DON'T take this - just awful."

For Birth Control "I started taking this drug in January of 2016, and for the first two months, everything was fine. After the first two months of having no side effects, things got bad. I got extremely painful cystic acne around my mouth, painful menstrual cramps, headaches, and I went from weighing 150 pounds to now 180 pounds. At the beginning, I barely had a period, but at the end, it was back to being the long and dreadful periods I once had. This birth control obviously did what it was supposed to by preventing me from getting pregnant, but the side effects were not worth it. My doctor has now changed me to Yaz, so I am hoping this is a better experience."

For Birth Control "I started taking Junel Fe for the first three months, which gave me mood swings, and then the pharmacy randomly started giving me Blisovi, which I've had for 9 months. Blisovi gave me less of the mood swings -- which were never a problem before, but I kept getting headaches. I started logging them, and I would nearly get one small one a day, at least. I completely weaned myself off of caffeine too, so I'm sure that's not the issue either. Now I'm back on Junel Fe. Junel Fe made my periods more irregular. I skipped for 90 days and then had a 12-day period...anyway, no headaches, but I'm back to being needlessly sensitive now. I might talk to my doctor and try something else. My insurance only covers them if I get them mailed to my house...so when I needed an early prescription because of a vacation, they charged me out of pocket ($44.00)."

For Birth Control "One week on this pill, and my life has truly been hell! I experienced diarrhea, stomach pain, headaches, nausea, and acne! I would not recommend this type of birth control."

"I took Blisovi Fe 1/20 for 3 months, and I recently decided to stop taking it. Within a month and a half after starting it, I ended up with a UTI (which I've never had before in my life). Then, 2 yeast infections, vaginal irritation that never seems to go away, plus sore breasts that burned in the nipples too, depression and mood swings (I'd be angry, then cry for no reason), plus decreased sex drive, weight gain, headaches, spotting between menstrual cycles, and heavy bleeding during it. I just can't take this pill anymore. I'd rather have ovarian cysts (which is what it was prescribed to help me with)."
