For Birth Control "I'm only going on 2 months on Vienva, and I'm done after this. It does its job of preventing pregnancy, sure, but the side effects are a killer! It increased my anxiety substantially, which is a problem as I already have GAD and panic disorder. My appetite swung from constantly starving to not wanting to eat a crumb. The abdominal cramping I get is severe, even worse than the cramps I got PMS-ing every month before I took this medication. And isn't birth control supposed to help relieve PMS symptoms? It certainly does not do that for me. It makes them 10 times worse. This is just my final straw here, and I will be stopping this medication."

For Birth Control "Run far away from this pill! I was also switched from Orysthia (which did wonders for me) to Vienva without being notified. I figured also since it had the same active ingredients I would be fine. Wrong! The past week has been nothing but a nightmare! My moods have been so up and down! Feeling depressed, I lashed out at one of my best friends for no reason! Please don't take this! I'm calling my pharmacy right now to see if I could get back on Orysthia!"

For Birth Control "I was taking this birth control for around 6 months, and there was a major change. For the first 2 months, my breasts were very sore as if I was about to get my period, but it was constant. The rest of the time was normal, but I saw that I was a bit more hormonal than usual, and my sex drive went significantly down. My body usually adjusts to birth control very quickly, so my periods were regulated after taking this medication within the second month, and my periods were constant from then on. Everyone's body is different, so it might react differently. I had to get off this pill, though, because my doctor thinks that it might be affecting my blood pressure, so if you have high blood pressure in your family, ask your doctor first!"

For Birth Control "Started, and for two months I am very conscious of the placebo effect and not psyching myself out. But I have noticed I get bad acne now, I get very upset and very sad sporadically, which is not normal for me. I get angry also for periods, and my hair is much thinner. I can’t feel much bloating, but perhaps I haven’t paid close enough attention to that. My weight has remained the same. My periods are just dark blood, not incredibly painful at all, very “normal.” Only real noticeable complaint is truly the acne, which I never get, and the minor mood swings. I’ll give it a longer shot and will update."

For Birth Control "This is my first time on birth control, and it has been the worst experience of my life. Month one was fine, I had nausea and threw up some, but nothing overbearing. Now I'm at the end of month two, and I'm completely over this pill! I have nausea every day, I feel like I have to throw up all the time, I got my first ever yeast infection, I have had extreme bloating for days at a time, and also I am experiencing pain while having sex. After sex, I’m in so much pain I just want to cry, and it could’ve only been 5 minutes. Do not take this pill. I thought it was all in my head, but I’m so glad I’m not the only one who has experienced these things. Also, my mental health has been messed up. My fiancé even said I’ve been moody and filled with anxiety, avoid this method and try something else. Only gave this a 1 because I’m not pregnant."

For Birth Control "This birth control pill ruined my life. I was taking Alesse then was prescribed Vienva once I moved countries and being told it’s the US “equivalent” to Alesse. I had no problems with Alesse besides minor mood shifts and a total weight gain of 1-2 lbs, which is fine, and I was able to sustainably use Alesse for years. Comparing that to being on Vienva for 3 months was a completely different story... I gained 15-17 lbs within a little over a month, and I am a petite 125 lb woman. In addition, I lost all my sexual libido, was irritable and depressed, had massive mood swings constantly, and I lost interest in the gym, work, and all general home personal life. My self-confidence had been shattered. I have since refused to take any more pills or refills of my prescription for Vienva and will never endorse that brand. It has been 9 months since I have been off the medication, and I am still struggling to lose all the weight I have gained from this dreaded pill."

For Birth Control "Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience either. I had to change from Orysthia to Vienva, and honestly, both gave me bad side effects. I had monthly horrible migraines, horrible bloating, and stomach pains, and I've also started not being able to sleep well and would have dreams that I actually yell out when I used to never do that. I've gotten randomly depressed since taking any general birth control and would break down crying for no reason and wanted life to end. I thought it was some personal problem, but after reading many of these other reviews, I see that I'm not the only one."

For Birth Control "I’m so glad I came across these reviews because I don’t feel so alone now. First of all, I’m only giving this pill a 1 because it didn’t get me pregnant. Other than that, I’ve never had such a bad experience. Luckily, I didn’t get acne or gain weight. But my mood completely shifted. I became depressed and filled with anxiety, which isn’t normal for me. I cry all the time for no reason. This pill hasn’t changed my friendships, but it has taken a toll on my relationship with my boyfriend. I am constantly mad at him for no reason. I don’t feel like myself anymore. I was going to the gym 5 times a week and lost interest in fitness. I originally thought I was mildly depressed, but after all of these reviews, I realize now it’s all due to this pill. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone!!!"

For Birth Control "I was taking Vienva for 2 months. It's the worst pill I have tried. With that pill, I only sleep 5 hours or less and have a lot of cramping with my period. My skin has a lot of breakout pimples. I don’t recommend this pill."

For Birth Control "I started this Vienva 3 weeks ago, and it’s the worst. I’ve been having terrible stomach pains for a week now. Every time I look at food, it makes me feel sick. I feel as if I’m hungry, but when I eat, the stomach pain gets worse. Woke up last night feeling like I was gonna puke and couldn’t go back to sleep. On top of that, I have zero sex drive, and everything upsets me, which is affecting my relationship with my boyfriend. I’ve also noticed hair loss."

For Birth Control "Started taking birth control 6 years ago. Originally started with a different brand, but I've been taking Vienva for a couple of years now and haven't had a problem. My periods have gotten lighter and lighter, as expected with taking any birth control for long periods of time. I think you have to consider that any birth control might give you typical side effects: mood swings, bloating, acne, headaches, etc. It just depends on how your body reacts. I felt more side effects when I was on the first brand I tried and actually prefer Vienva. Everyone's different. Don't hesitate to try something. If it doesn't work out, you can always switch."

For Birth Control "I posted a review Feb 20 on here. Update: I am considering switching to another pill. After 4 months, I started feeling really dizzy/nauseous randomly throughout the day. To say the least, this exacerbated my anxiety to the max. I haven’t had a decent night’s sleep in a long time because of the anxiety. I feel really dizzy all the time and my neck feels tense. I was having a good experience with this pill until the past two months. Anxiety is wild, y’all."

For Birth Control "Let's start off by saying this has prevented pregnancy. BUT, my anxiety, depression, acne, and weight gain have skyrocketed. Every time I think my acne is gone, it comes right back, and I'm 21 years old. I get anxiety just by eating in front of someone because I overthink how I'm eating. I've gained almost 15 pounds just from being on this (NONE of it being in my blogs). I have also noticed a plummeted sex drive and less 'lubrication' than before. My motivation to do things I used to love doing all the time now only comes in waves. I've also experienced random breakthrough bleeding, which freaked me out. UUGGHHH I have to take 5 more months of this rubbish before I switch to Ortho Tri-Cyclen. I'm very upset."

For Birth Control "I started Vienva because my boyfriend and I had decided we wanted to try having unprotected sex. The Vienva was the worst experience of my life. I'm the happiest girl in the world-always laughing and smiling. But Vienva just completely flipped a switch in me. I'm miserable, I can't concentrate, and my anxiety is through the roof. I feel terrible and I'm always crying-and I'm not a crier. Do not take this birth control, PLEASE. I didn't think it would affect me like this, but it has. Save yourself."

For Birth Control "Vienva was the first form of birth control I have ever taken, and I honestly loved it. It gave me minimal side effects, just a little bit of weight gain and very tiny breakouts around my chin, nothing too bad. Overall, I've been having unprotected sex since the second week I was on it and never had a pregnancy scare!"

For Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICATION. I recently switched to this pill after my period got off track from my last pill. Three weeks into taking it, I started getting EXTREME anxiety, something I’d never experienced before. It caused issues in my relationship because I was trying to hide them. I thought I was going crazy and couldn’t hide them anymore. I was crying all the time for no reason, feeling scared and nervous. It wasn’t until my friends told me to research the new pill that I realized I wasn’t just randomly going crazy. Lots of people experience the same feelings. I don’t wish this level of anxiety on anyone. I’m stopping the pill and hoping it doesn’t take long to return to normal."

For Birth Control "I started this birth control 3 months ago. Apart from migraines here and there and some discomfort with sexual intercourse at times, this birth control has done wonders for me! I don’t have any nausea or vomiting, plus my period cramps have vanished, which is great. I was terrified of the previous reviews, but it all depends on the person. I am 20, and this is my first time ever on birth control, so I’m amazed!"

For Birth Control "Literally no. Stay away from this birth control. I didn’t want to listen to the reviews and decided to give Vienva a try. The first day that I began taking it, I began feeling anxious. And then it got worse, and things didn’t feel real, and I felt like I was not myself at all. The night that I took my third pill, I was in bed not being able to sleep the entire night because I had such bad anxiety, so many scary thoughts, and my mind and body would not stop going, going, going. I felt myself going insane. I am not taking the fourth pill... this is crazy. And I’ve been on a different birth control before that made me a little more sad and emotional, but this was a whole other level."

For Birth Control "This pill started out fine, with some minor side effects that I was told I would adjust to. Everything got worse with time. I wake up trembling with anxiety most mornings, I always look/feel pregnant, I cry over EVERYTHING, so much so that it’s ruining my professional life at work, as I cannot control the waterworks. My sex drive is gone, and I am honestly terrified to give any other pill a try, just because of the experiences I have had on this one."

For Birth Control "This is the worst birth control I've ever taken. I had the worst breakthrough bleeding, and I gained a few pounds while only on it for a few weeks. I also felt really bloated the whole time and felt really insecure about my body the whole time. I'm switching back to the birth control I was on before this."

For Birth Control "This was my first birth control experience. I’m 40 and just wanted a low dose BC that would help with ovulation and PMS symptoms. I lasted 10 days. Although it did keep me from experiencing another ovarian cyst during ovulation, I had horrible migraines from day 3, numbness in the left side of my face, immediate weight gain (5 lbs in a week), and a bit of nighttime anxiety. My doctor switched me today, and I’ll start the mini pill tonight. If you struggle with anxiety, headaches, or are sensitive to estrogen, this pill may not be a good fit."

For Birth Control "At first, everything was fine, but then I realized I was even more anxious than usual (I have an anxiety disorder already), and then I was bloated. I can't fit into any of my jeans. Then, my period, when it did come, was super heavy. Blood clot heavy. I have aches and pains. I never have periods like this. I feel like utter crap. I'm stopping this med even though it's been a month or two. Back to my old birth control."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Vienva for almost a year now. It's the first birth control I have tried, and luckily, I have not had any awful side effects. I totally understand it not working for other people, though. I love that I can take it to skip my periods. The breakthrough bleeding every few months hasn't been so bad either."

For Birth Control "HORRIBLE experience. I'm surprised this BC is on the market because it almost ruined my life. While on it, I was depressed, irritable, and had bursts of anger, as well as hair thinning, loss of appetite (I'm already thin), and acne. I could not figure out why I had basically no will to live or motivation to do anything and was getting extremely irritable not only with my friends, boyfriend, but coworkers as well. I'm normally a very calm, collected person, but this pill made me feel like I had no control over my life. AVOID!!"

For Birth Control "I've been on Vienva for 3 months now and I really like it. This was my first time on BC so I was terrified. The first month was probably the 'worst' (not even that bad but out of the three months it was), but my body was still adjusting. I had tender breasts, night sweats, a little bit of acne, I got tired easily, spotting, etc. But on the second month, those things went away. I still get my occasional pimple but nothing that I couldn't handle. I have a lot of stomach issues, so I thought I would be nauseous all the time... but I haven't experienced that at all. Also, my period is basically the same as it was before. Give it a try and definitely switch if you don't feel like this is for you. Just trying to give my opinion since I was one of the people who was scared to try it, and I read a lot of negative reviews..."
