For Birth Control "Pt.1 I've been on Vienva for almost three weeks and I can say it's not as bad as I thought it'd be. I was skeptical about it because of all the bad reviews, and I was scared I was going to get acne because of it. But I would say it just gets my appetite going in the morning, which I love because I deal with a lot of anxiety and I lose my appetite so much. My boobs are fuller, which I'm not complaining about, and they're a little sore here and there. I do experience a little cramping, but it lasts for like 10 minutes. Today I was super emotional, but I can never tell if it's the birth control or just the people in my household, LMAO. But before today, I was actually kinda happy, which makes me happier because I haven't really been happy in so long. For any ladies trying this, I would say not to be scared! But I will update you guys with Pt.2 once I finish the first 3 months!"

For Birth Control "I've taken Aviane for the past 5 years (I recently switched to using Pill Club and they don't offer that brand), and Vienva is the equivalent, so I gave it a try. I love it. No side effects at all. No mood swings, weight gain, or breakouts. I 100% recommend it."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Vienva for 3 weeks, almost 4, and it got to the point where I was supposed to start my period. They were already irregular, and I got prescribed this from the pill club because I was tired of having 2 periods a month, but this is not worth it. By the time I got to the peach pills, my emotions have been through the roof. I cry over the smallest things and have the worst mood swings on it. If you’re going through the pill club like I did, I recommend you go to a doctor that will prescribe you the right pill. It might be good for some people, but the emotional effect on this is not worth it. I would rather be pregnant at this point. It made my cramps so much worse, and they were already horrible to begin with. The pill club can eat my panini."

For Birth Control "I am going to leave an unbiased review that will be factual without any bias because it's unfair to base it off of only personal feelings, which will look very scary. I was on this for two months, this may or may not cause your feelings of negativity to skyrocket. It did escalate my depression. It did make me more cranky and moody. It will make you cramp a bit. A bit of spotting, which is normal. These are the side effects I have experienced. If it sounds scary, then try a different brand, but other than that, you can just try to make yourself stronger mentally. I personally don't think it's the end of the world taking it. As for the effectiveness, it has not gotten me pregnant. It is doing an amazing job at doing what you want it to do, which is protect you from pregnancy. A lot of people overlook and fail to acknowledge its effectiveness."

For Birth Control "I just recently started this medication as my first ever use of birth control, and I've had no issues so far! No nausea, no cramping, no spotting yet. No mood swings or bloating either. I will update once I get further along, but so far I feel like I haven't even taken anything! Don't get too scared by the negative reviews because I think statistically speaking, more people are likely to share their experience if it's bad than people who are happy with it."

For Birth Control "I have been on several pill birth controls and recently after my third child, I had the IUD inserted. I hated it and got it removed and was switched to Vienva. I was horrified to see all the bad comments, but pleasantly surprised I am on my fourth week and feel better than ever! No more mood swings, cystic acne, painful sex, weight gain I had with the IUD. Sticking with Vienva."

For Birth Control "First and last time using this drug. I just started my 3rd pack and have been bleeding nonstop since week 2. It has made me emotional, sluggish, bloated, abdominal cramps, acne, and bad gas with multiple poops a day. I’ve never felt this bad before, ever. Stopping the pill today and hoping to get my life back. DO NOT take unless you like to be miserable and in constant pain."

For Birth Control "I started using this pill about 2 months ago. I’ve only used birth control this time and another time about 2 years ago. The first time was fine, I didn’t have any side effects whatsoever (but then again it was a different pill), so I decided to go back on the pill again. I got prescribed Vienva from the pill club. The first 2 weeks of taking it, I would wake up every morning with extreme nausea, my mood swings started getting really bad and started affecting my relationship. I felt like I was starting to get depressed. Last night I got an overwhelming feeling of sadness out of nowhere and started crying uncontrollably, sobbing in the shower. I’ve NEVER done that before, and that for me was the last straw. I’m not pregnant, no, it works, I guess."

For Birth Control "I am 19 years old, and this is my first time using birth control. I was nervous because some friends of mine have had horror stories about birth control, but I guess I got extremely lucky because this has worked perfectly for me. No terrible mood swings, my periods have been regular, my skin is clear, normal blood pressure, no crazy weight gain, and I have not gotten pregnant, yes! (I have been taking this pill for around 9 months now.)"

For Birth Control "I signed up for Pill Club and was prescribed Vienva. It is my first birth control, so I immediately went online to look up side effects and reviews. After reading, I was scared to death to get my prescription, knowing I can't change it for at least 2-3 months. Reluctantly, I did start taking it, as I did read some good reviews. I'm about to start my second month in about a week. I have yet to notice any major side effects. Maybe a tad bit more emotional and faint cramps here and there, but nothing too crazy. The only weight I gained was before I even started the pack and was my own doing. I know it's still early, but I think it's working well for me. Although I do understand everyone is different and will react differently."

For Birth Control "I started Vienva birth control about 6 months ago due to a job change causing my insurance to switch me from Lessina to Vienva. I always look through this website for birth control reviews, and I have to say I was absolutely terrified that I had switched to Vienva. I completely understand that we all have different experiences, but I would like to share that I had absolutely no side effects with this medication. No acne, no weight gain - in fact, I’ve lost 10 pounds from exercise and eating better and do not feel this birth control has interfered with my weight loss, no mood swings, no change in sex drive, and most of all, not pregnant. My periods average 4-5 days, but I usually skip the placebo pills, starting the new pack right away. Give it a try and keep in mind everyone reacts differently."

For Birth Control "I've been on Vienva for a full month, and I instantly noticed a severe increase in emotional sensitivity. Before taking Vienva, I was in my best mental state after overcoming depression, but starting this pill made me feel like I lost all my progress. I am constantly crying throughout the day for no reason, and I'm taking things so personally. It's very unlike me at this point to be worrying so much over things that wouldn't usually affect me and having panic attacks every night. It's unbearable. Also having pretty gnarly headaches. Switching pills ASAP - do not recommend."

For Birth Control "I started Vienva in September 2019. For the first month, I expected constant mood swings affecting me almost solely at night and abdominal soreness. After my first 3 weeks and skipping the placebos, I fell into a depression that was not pre-existing. This cost me personal relationships. Other symptoms included cramping, loss of appetite, headaches (not to mention 14 days of breakthrough bleeding). I didn’t get pregnant, though."

For Birth Control "I have been through the nightmare that is birth control for the last 2 years. I have tried 6 different BCs and had horrible side effects from all of them, including bipolar depression, mood swings, weight gain, hair loss, loss of sex drive, and horrible cramping. I was put on VIENVA 3 months ago and was nervous because of negative reviews. All was going well, my sex drive was back up (I’m 26 and in a happy, loving, long-term relationship!), but I ended my period a week ago, and 3 days ago, I started having some slight spotting. On the 2nd day, I started bleeding HEAVILY, and here we are on the 3rd, and I am still bleeding! I have never in my life had breakthrough bleeding, but this is like I’m having a 2nd period! Horrible cramps, full-on 2nd period of the month! I will be switching. Again, everything else was amazing about this pill. It made me feel normal again, high sex drive, no side effects, until this third month when I’ve been excessively bleeding even after my period."

For Birth Control "Woah. I got this bc from Pill Club and have to say something. If you have anxiety and depression, please seek another brand. I was finally in a good place, and this set me back so far. I felt so emotional and extremely lost during my time on this pill. It had negative impacts on my relationship, friendships, school, work, sleep, and basically everything. I couldn’t concentrate on school-which is not helpful as a nursing student-and felt unmotivated and exhausted all of the time. I know birth control is different for everyone, and that’s the mindset I had while reading these reviews originally, but PLEASE be careful and listen to these reviews because I relate to 99% of the negative ones."

For Birth Control "At first, I got the birth control to regulate my period because it hadn’t come in over a month, so my doctor said since I’m active, I should consider this. I started taking the pills on September 11th, and at first, I was having mood swings and nausea, but after the first couple of days, I was better. I have gained 8.3 pounds, and it’s only been 3 weeks (which I’m happy about). Coming to this site, everyone scared me with all the bad reviews, but I like this pill. I’ve had clearer skin, gained weight, and been able to keep up. I will say I have no appetite on this pill, though. I mean, I will eat a lot, get “full,” and maybe 2 hours later be starving again."

For Birth Control "I’ve never left a review before, so hopefully this is a sign for anyone considering taking this: DON'T TAKE IT. I only took it for a couple of days, but that was enough. I had horrible mood swings and felt like I had PMS only 100 times worse. I had uncontrollable sobbing fits to the point where I couldn’t breathe because I was sobbing so much. I got angry at everything and everyone. I felt foggy, unmotivated, depressed, and I would constantly stare off into space. I didn’t feel like myself. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone unless you really want to sob all the time for no reason at all and feel like a crazy person. Before I took this, I thought there was no way it was as bad as the reviews say, but oh, it really is. I would rate this a negative number if I could, find a better option for birth control because there are so many, and this one sucks."

For Birth Control "I've been on Vienva for about 3 years now, and I couldn't be happier with it. I tried a different birth control before this, and I had horrible non-stop migraines, nausea, mood swings, the whole nine. So I stopped, and I eventually tried BC again, this time with Vienva, and everything has gone so smoothly. I'll be candid, I am taking it because I'm s- active, and take my word for it, after 3 years? It works. I would've had a few kids by now. Not everyone's body works the same. The first BC I tried was the brand my friend uses, and it works perfectly fine for her. The point is, if this one doesn't work for you, you can keep trying! Just because one pill didn't treat you well does not mean all of them won't. I found my perfect one with Vienva. 10/10 IMO."

For Birth Control "I’m taking birth control for acne. I’ve tried a few other brands before this but had to quit within weeks because I got severely depressed (I don’t have preexisting depression when I’m not on BC). I have been on Vienva for 1.5 months now and I haven’t experienced the mood swings that I did with other brands. Like I said, I’m trying to use BC to clear my skin, and so far this has done a decent job. I’d say it’s reduced the acne by about 40%, but I’m sure it will keep getting better as time goes on. I am trying to skip the sugar pills to skip my period. The PMS symptoms that week (back pain, stomach ache, irritability) were worse than usual, however, I barely bled, so that’s good."

For Birth Control "Absolutely the worst. I previously used the depo shot and IUDs for years and had little to no issues with those. I recently had my IUD taken out because it was time, and wanted to try the pill. Pill Club prescribed me Vienva. I’ve only been taking the pill for about a week and a half, and I refuse to take another pill. I have been dehydrated and vomiting nonstop for three days now, about to go to the ER. Mood swings are insane (I have pre-existing bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety). If you have any mental illness, think twice before taking this pill. So many terrible things to say. I’m furious. 0/10 do not recommend to ANYONE."

For Birth Control "Run far away from this pill! I was also switched from Orysthia (which did wonders for me) to Vienva without being notified. I figured also since it had the same active ingredients I would be fine. Wrong! The past week has been nothing but a nightmare! My moods have been so up and down! Feeling depressed, I lashed out at one of my best friends for no reason! Please don't take this! I'm calling my pharmacy right now to see if I could get back on Orysthia!"

For Birth Control "Started, and for two months I am very conscious of the placebo effect and not psyching myself out. But I have noticed I get bad acne now, I get very upset and very sad sporadically, which is not normal for me. I get angry also for periods, and my hair is much thinner. I can’t feel much bloating, but perhaps I haven’t paid close enough attention to that. My weight has remained the same. My periods are just dark blood, not incredibly painful at all, very “normal.” Only real noticeable complaint is truly the acne, which I never get, and the minor mood swings. I’ll give it a longer shot and will update."

For Birth Control "This birth control pill ruined my life. I was taking Alesse then was prescribed Vienva once I moved countries and being told it’s the US “equivalent” to Alesse. I had no problems with Alesse besides minor mood shifts and a total weight gain of 1-2 lbs, which is fine, and I was able to sustainably use Alesse for years. Comparing that to being on Vienva for 3 months was a completely different story... I gained 15-17 lbs within a little over a month, and I am a petite 125 lb woman. In addition, I lost all my sexual libido, was irritable and depressed, had massive mood swings constantly, and I lost interest in the gym, work, and all general home personal life. My self-confidence had been shattered. I have since refused to take any more pills or refills of my prescription for Vienva and will never endorse that brand. It has been 9 months since I have been off the medication, and I am still struggling to lose all the weight I have gained from this dreaded pill."

For Birth Control "Started taking birth control 6 years ago. Originally started with a different brand, but I've been taking Vienva for a couple of years now and haven't had a problem. My periods have gotten lighter and lighter, as expected with taking any birth control for long periods of time. I think you have to consider that any birth control might give you typical side effects: mood swings, bloating, acne, headaches, etc. It just depends on how your body reacts. I felt more side effects when I was on the first brand I tried and actually prefer Vienva. Everyone's different. Don't hesitate to try something. If it doesn't work out, you can always switch."
