For Birth Control "So I’ve been on Vienva for 4 months now. When I barely started this birth control, I was scared and I searched it up on here, and I saw the horrible reviews. So I talked to my friends about it, and they told me that people are most likely to review when they have a bad experience with something. And it’s true because if you’re having a good time with a medication, you don’t ever consider going and reviewing it. So I decided to give it a try, at least for a couple of months. The first month, I experienced moodiness, headaches, and nausea. I wasn’t surprised because I was taking hormones, and that’s what hormones can do. My withdrawal bleeds are shorter (3-4 days instead of 5-7). My experience has been mostly positive! You never know until you try :) I hope I helped someone who’s about to start on birth control!"

For Birth Control "Update from May review: I really love this Vienva pill. Out of all similar ones, this one is closest to Lutera. I did have some breakthrough spotting my 1st pack due to switching from a minipill. Once I had that 7-day withdrawal bleed, my body reset like the nurse said, and no more bleeding on active pills. I keep my pill pack in my wallet too, with this being a low dose. My periods start 2.5 days into the sugar pills and are 6 days total, with my 3rd day being semi-heavy to medium and the rest light flow. I do get overly tired and moody with headaches 3 days before I start my period. But no angry random mood swings all month like some pills. Skin stays mostly clear except for a couple of pimples before my period. Might have lost a few pounds too. My boyfriend and I both love that my sex drive is up and that this pill has given me pregnancy protection. This pill is worth a fair shot. If a pill doesn't agree with you after 2-3 months, call your ob and switch. I have been through this many times myself."

For Birth Control "I saw a lot of negative reviews, but gave it a go. I had a few headaches and crying spells; however, after my body adjusted, I’m completely content. Don’t be too scared and try it once your period starts. I started to wear a pad after the brown discharge (breakthrough bleeding) started, but that’s the worst it’s gotten. Expect some bloating, do your research, and stick with what your body accepts. Stay safe."

For Birth Control "First time ever taking birth control, Vienva, 29-year-old. No breakouts, no weight gain, or mood swings. In the beginning, I did experience a minor headache, but as the months went on, no more headaches. No problems with nausea as well. The only thing I believe my body was still adjusting to the meds because of some brown spotting when skipping placebos, going straight to my next pack, which only happened twice in the first 2 months of using. Other than that, everything seems to be working well for me, yay. Ladies, listen to your body, otherwise, switch to other brands :)"

For Birth Control "I read reviews on this birth control, Vienva, after it was prescribed to me, and I was concerned already. I went through The Pill Club, and they encouraged me to take it for a short time anyway because everyone has different experiences. Many reviews said that Vienva caused them acne, and this is what I was concerned about. For about the first week of taking the pill, I got bad headaches soon after taking them, but those soon stopped. However, I took them for the recommended 3 months and began to have large, horrible acne. I am used to hormonal acne around my period, but with this birth control, my skin was getting worse and worse. I decided to stop use altogether."

For Birth Control "I've been on Vienva for a full month, and I instantly noticed a severe increase in emotional sensitivity. Before taking Vienva, I was in my best mental state after overcoming depression, but starting this pill made me feel like I lost all my progress. I am constantly crying throughout the day for no reason, and I'm taking things so personally. It's very unlike me at this point to be worrying so much over things that wouldn't usually affect me and having panic attacks every night. It's unbearable. Also having pretty gnarly headaches. Switching pills ASAP - do not recommend."

For Birth Control "I started Vienva in September 2019. For the first month, I expected constant mood swings affecting me almost solely at night and abdominal soreness. After my first 3 weeks and skipping the placebos, I fell into a depression that was not pre-existing. This cost me personal relationships. Other symptoms included cramping, loss of appetite, headaches (not to mention 14 days of breakthrough bleeding). I didn’t get pregnant, though."

For Birth Control "This birth control is horrible. I bled for the entire 4 months I was on this, and it gave me my first yeast infection ever. I have never had issues with dryness, itching, or irritation, or any kind of infections until this horrible medication. I am still recovering from these issues this medication caused after being completely off it for 2 weeks. I was extremely moody and sad. I'm not one who really gets headaches, but I had horrible headaches when I was taking Vienva. I had to take 3 prescription medications to counteract the side effects this birth control gave me."

For Birth Control "Started taking birth control 6 years ago. Originally started with a different brand, but I've been taking Vienva for a couple of years now and haven't had a problem. My periods have gotten lighter and lighter, as expected with taking any birth control for long periods of time. I think you have to consider that any birth control might give you typical side effects: mood swings, bloating, acne, headaches, etc. It just depends on how your body reacts. I felt more side effects when I was on the first brand I tried and actually prefer Vienva. Everyone's different. Don't hesitate to try something. If it doesn't work out, you can always switch."

For Birth Control "Horrible, I hate these birth control pills, Vienva. They have made me nauseous every morning, gave me headaches for a good week or so, and will get really bad mood swings and make me feel so emotional sometimes. As soon as I finish this pack, I will change to a different brand, or maybe even sooner because I can’t deal with this. Oh, not to forget to mention, I’ve been bleeding since I got my period and have not stopped. I got my period over a week ago... without the pills, my period will only last a few days, 4 days tops."

For Birth Control "I've been on Vienva since December of 2019, and I haven't had any side effects until recently. I switched from Tri Sprintec to this one because I had really bad gas on Tri Sprintec. I feel good on this pill, but I've noticed I've gained about 50 pounds since starting Vienva, along with higher blood pressure (not dangerously high), but I've never had high blood pressure in my life. Also, I don't know if it's from the pandemic or not, but I have increased anxiety lately and a few headaches here and there. I started out amazing on this pill, but I'm not sure if switching to another one will be beneficial because I don't like how my blood pressure has increased, along with my headaches and anxiety."

For Birth Control "I started taking this Vienva birth control pill in July of 2019, and I read the whole package and all the side effects. Now I’m 5 months in and still get really bad headaches. I get nauseous randomly. My period this month is very late, and I’m panicking because of it. I have my 6-month follow-up at the end of this month and want to switch, as this is awful. I know everyone says that not everyone has the same effects, but I keep reading, and most people reviewing it have the same effects as I am. I gave it a 2 because it kept me from popping a kid out."

For Birth Control "I was on Vienva for 5 months. I recently started feeling more serious side effects like palpitations, headaches, and anxiety. I had my most recent anxiety attack. Never have I experienced this, and the only thing I can relate this to is the birth control. My blood pressure has gone up, but doctors always say it has nothing to do with it because of the low-dose hormones. But I know myself, and I know the pill does something to you..."

For Birth Control "If I could give this birth control a 0, I would! It is completely terrible. Besides the fact that I am always bloated and always have stomach pains, it gives me horrible headaches. I never had depression or anxiety, and I’ve been taking this birth control for 7 months, and I totally do not recommend! I’ve been so down and so depressed and don’t have motivation to do anything. I cry all the time, and I always take it out on my boyfriend, poor him. I’m glad that I’m reading the reviews and know it’s not only just me! I’m getting off of it today!"

For Birth Control "I actually love Vienva. I'm only on it to prevent pregnancy, which it's doing a great job at so far. My appetite stayed the same. I didn't experience any nausea, headaches, cramps, or anything like that. I didn't bloat either. My boobs grew, which was just a little sore, which didn't bother me. Different pills have different effects on people. I hated Sprintec, Aviana, Ortho Evra."

For Birth Control "For me, the birth control did nothing wrong that I’ve noticed. I’ve been on it for 6 months. The first few weeks on it, I got instant headaches and nausea. The second I took it, but it went away after a few weeks, and the symptoms didn’t last long-only like a half hour. I haven’t noticed any weight gain or irregular bleeding. It helped my period become lighter but longer until I started the new month on BC. It also didn’t help my cramps at all, they still hurt bad. It did help my acne."

For Birth Control "I was put on birth control to try and regulate my periods. Taking Vienva, I had my skin cleared up. I lost a few pounds, but loss of appetite, small headaches, and my breasts were swollen became the red flags. I stopped taking it when my period symptoms began to show. Never in my life have I had a period this heavy. It feels ridiculous how badly I'm losing blood. I contacted my doctor, and she said it was 'normal.' Needless to say, I will no longer take this brand."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on many birth controls as I’m 36, was married at 18, and we had our first child at 20. I’ve never had this kind of reaction this quickly. I’ve already gained 4 pounds, despite being incapable of eating. The nausea alone is enough for me to quit taking it immediately. I’ve only been on it for four (4) days, and I’m absolutely unable to function. The night before last, the severe nausea led me to vomiting more than I’ve ever vomited in a single session. It was a lot! The past two days, I’ve had headaches so bad I’ve been forced to go back to bed. My appetite is gone, and I have no desire to even speak. I will not be taking my fifth pill this evening. I am stopping it immediately and will be bringing these issues up with my doctor at my appointment this coming Friday. I’m not holding out to see if I come through the side effects or to see if they get worse like most of the reviews here."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Vienva for a week now, and so far, everything is going well. No bloating, mood swings, headache, etc. I may get a little nauseous for 2 minutes, but that's normal for me if I take any pill on an empty stomach. I was previously on the Nexplanon for 3 years and would sometimes be on my period for like forever. I would like to have a baby in about a year, so I’m only taking this for now to prevent pregnancy. I’ll follow up if anything changes after I’m done with the first pack."

For Birth Control "This is the first-ever experience I've had with extreme side effects from a medication. This has been the worst experience of my life. I've been taking it at 9:30 every night. I wake up in the middle of the night at 5:00 a.m. every night with extreme nausea, something that I didn't experience before taking this. When I wake up in the morning, I instantly feel dizzy and nauseous. This continues on throughout the day. Halfway through the day, the anxiety starts to take over. I start to experience shortness of breath, shaking, and lightheadedness. Once the panic attack ends, I get a headache more towards 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. This has been happening every day since I started this pill, and I'm just told to 'keep pushing through.'"

For Birth Control "I've been on this for about 5-6 months, and the only issue I have is occasional breakthrough bleeding, but only 2 times. When I first started, I did have headaches, however, it went away after a month. And this didn't change my weight so far, but has made my boobs a lot bigger. I personally never take the placebo pills, the one time I did, it took like 3 days for my period to come, but other than that, no issues!"

For Birth Control "So I’ve been on this pill for 9 months. The first few months, I was fine, there were no noticeable changes. I started to get mild/moderate headaches when I would be on the inactive pills. Recently, I’ve been overly fatigued, and I'm not sure it’s from the pill or not. I’ve been having at least 8 hours of sleep a night, so I'm thinking it’s the pill. Occasionally, I get SEVERE leg pain at night, and it’s so bad I CRY, it’s like this burning/right sensation. It’s only happened like twice, again, I don’t know if it’s from the pill or not. Overall, it’s been an average experience, I'm going to stop taking it, though, and switch to an IUD :)"

For Birth Control "Took me about 10 months to realize Vienva was the cause of my abdominal pain, lack of appetite, fatigue, aches, headaches, most likely the reason I’m so angry all day! My body does not like it. I hear some people have awesome luck, but I struggled with the stomach issues here. Every day. Even switching time to take the pill, eating around the pill, nothing helped. Finally, I just had enough. Does wonderful keeping you from getting pregnant, but I would love not to feel this way every day of my life besides on placebo pill days."

For Birth Control "My first month went really well, I used to get my period twice a month for about 5 days each, and it made my period once a month, 7 days each. Month 2, I’m feeling nausea, cramps, headaches, and a little bit of overheating. It’s making me feel so bad and crummy. Not pregnant though, or so I hope."

"These replies are so bad for no reason. I've been taking this birth control for almost a year and haven't had any side effects whatsoever: no weight gain, no babies, no headaches, no weird bleeding, no bloating... nothing. This birth control is working out great for me."
