For Birth Control "I am 19 years old, and this is my first time on any kind of birth control. I’ve been taking Vienva for about six months. When I first started taking it, I experienced some bigger acne breakouts for a few days, but then my skin became completely clear and has stayed that way since. I don’t experience any nausea. My periods went from wildly irregular and unpredictable to coming like clockwork every 28 days. My sex drive has stayed the same. The only negative side to this medication so far has been very minor hair loss. I noticed my hair thinning out a couple of months after I started taking the pill, but it’s nothing crazy. No bald spots, just thinner all around. Also, I’m not pregnant, so that’s a plus! If you’re looking to take the pill, I do recommend Vienva. Still, keep in mind that every body responds to medication differently. This is only MY experience, and yours might be different. Still recommend, though! :)"

For Birth Control "I have been taking the Vienva pill for a week and can't stand it. I'm switching tomorrow. I have cried so much and felt so depressed and anxious that it has exhausted me. I have never felt this sad all the time. It's seriously unbearable. DO NOT take this pill, the side effects are awful. I can't believe that they still write prescriptions for it."

For Birth Control "I first started taking Vienva back in May, as I was having really bad cramping with my periods and decided to go back on birth control. I will say that it has helped a lot with cramping and same with acne. However, this month I have had so much breakthrough bleeding that it’s been the most annoying thing ever. Today I woke up and essentially have my period, again. I am only 4 days into my new pack of pills too, and was supposed to have my period last week. Which I did, but it was so light like it has been since I started. But today I had to use a super tampon! I don’t know what’s going on, but hopefully it’s a fluke and it will be normal again next month. If not, I’ll be switching for sure."

For Birth Control "I decided to switch birth controls because my other one still gave me period cramps. The pill club switched me to Vienva, and let me just say I wouldn’t recommend this to my worst enemy. This birth control has caused me to become extremely depressed, and every day I will burst into tears at least once over nothing, which I never ever did on any other birth control. It’s starting to really affect my daily life, and I find myself not wanting to get out of bed because I lack the energy and motivation to. I will be switching back as soon as I can. Don’t take this unless it’s strongly recommended by a doctor, there’s a reason that more than half the people that take this have a bad experience with it."

For Birth Control "You name it (side effects), I have it!! All of them: terrible mood swings, constipation, bloated, nonstop headaches, spotting 24/7, decreased sex drive. It's really a freaking awful time for me. Been on for only 3 weeks, but calling the doctor tomorrow for sure. Wish I would have looked at these reviews before...."

For Birth Control "I was on the Vienva pill for about two years. It made my period delightfully regular (though it would start four days into the placebo week), and I didn't experience any side effects apart from heavier bleeding."

For Birth Control "I've been on the pill for 2 years, and the brand I used gets switched pretty often, but I haven't had any trouble with any other brands except this Vienva brand. It's the worst brand I have ever used. I never cry, yet ever, but since I started taking Vienva, I break out crying for no reason. I'm also bloated all the time, and I get stomach pains. I do NOT recommend this brand of birth control."

For Birth Control "When I first started taking Vienva (generic of Aviane, Orsythia, Lutera), I could instantly feel my mood change. I've become very moody/irritable, and it's made my anxiety much worse. Now, three months in, I've been bleeding for 12 days straight and haven't gotten a good night's sleep in weeks."

For Birth Control "I took it for about 2 1/2 months. I became depressed and anxious. I was anxious before, and Vienva made it worse. My body ached from it, too. The pain increasingly got worse until I finally stopped taking it. My chest also hurt. It seemed to have a negative effect on my breathing and circulation. I got a heavy period the day after I stopped taking it. It was very heavy, and both my back and stomach ached. While taking it, I hardly had any cramps or PMS symptoms before periods. That was one plus side. Overall, I would not recommend it. It is a poor-quality birth control. If your body can take it, then great, but if you want to feel good and normal, do not take it."

For Birth Control "I started taking Vienva almost 3 weeks ago. Ever since I started, I have felt miserable and nauseous all the time. I took some medicine, hoping it would go away, but it never did. After tonight, I am done taking it. It made me very sick. I definitely should have done more research before starting. Please take at your own risk."

For Birth Control "I do not recommend this drug. My original birth control drug stopped being produced, so I got switched to Vienva. I was on this drug for a short period of time, and I was feeling depressed, anxious, felt sick to my stomach, cried at the smallest things, and overall, my whole body ached."

For Birth Control "I took this medicine to help ease some of my menstrual pain and make my periods more regular. It has cut my menstrual pains and cramps down to about 10% of what they were, and I can choose when to get my period or not to get it at all. How awesome is that? I have experienced zero negative side effects. My quality of life has improved so much."

For Birth Control "I wanted to do this review for anyone who has just started this medicine. I’m 28 years old and have only tried birth control when I was 23 for a 2-week period and hated it. I wanted to try again, so I was prescribed the Vienva. So far, I have taken mine for 8 days. I waited for all the awful side effects I had seen in many reviews but have had few. The worst side effect I experienced was the nausea. Some days, so bad my mouth would salivate and I would tremble. I have not experienced any noticeable effects on my mood, no headaches, no anxiety or depression, or any breakthrough bleeding. I’m honestly surprised as being someone who's basically never taken BC on the norm, I haven’t experienced any worse side effects. I’ve also had a decrease in appetite and have noticed no effects on my sex drive either. So, though it is still early, I feel like this is going to be a really good option for me."

For Birth Control "This is the worst birth control ever. I’m only a week and a half into this and have never felt this depressed and was wondering what was wrong with me. This pill, it makes me want to not take any type of BC ever again. I’ve been feeling so off these past few days and don’t even feel like myself."

For Birth Control "I've been on Vienva for a couple of months now, and the overall experience is really positive. I was on the minipill and bleeding all the time, and now I can have my period every few months if I want. No mood swings so far, which is a big positive for me. My appetite has definitely increased, which is not so good, but just know it's the BC and don't allow yourself to indulge every time, and you shouldn't have weight gain. My sex drive is back, which is great because I feel like I didn't have one on the minipill. I'm on my first period since starting it, and I will say my cramps are still pretty bad. Light bleeding until the third day, and now it's kind of heavy. I started taking this as protection against pregnancy, and it's done the job so far. If you're looking for something to help with intense cramps, I'd look somewhere else. But if you're looking for a good pill and your cramps aren't too bad, I'd definitely give this a try."

For Birth Control "Vienva negatively affected my health both physically and mentally. Within two weeks of taking Vienva, I began bleeding constantly, like a mild period that got extremely heavy during the time of my expected period. I also experienced extreme fatigue, migraines, and mood swings. A couple of weeks into taking Vienva, I became depressed, which continued to worsen until I felt suicidal by three months. At this point, my husband intervened and strongly suggested I consider switching to a different birth control method. I have been off of Vienva for two months now, and all of my symptoms have completely subsided-including the depression."

"I was advised to get on birth control to help prevent the growth of ovarian cysts after a trip to the emergency room for a rupture. This pill is a nightmare! My anxiety has increased so drastically that I’m struggling worse than normal to accomplish tasks. This is worse than normal anxiety-I have chest pain and legitimate fears over things I usually cherish. My primary concern is awareness of my anxiety. The doctor pushed me to use this pill even though I asked for other choices. I don’t know what partnership Vienva has with my doctors, but it seems toxic."

For Birth Control "I started Vienva several months ago as my first form of birth control. In the past month or so, I have experienced extreme anxiety at random times of the day. It feels like I do not have control of my own thoughts, and I spiral into thoughts of sadness. I'm not sure if this is 100% because of this medication, but nothing else in my life has changed, so it seems to be caused by this. It also hasn't helped make my period lighter at all. The only good thing this medication has done is lessen my cramps. I'm not saying Vienva will be bad for anyone, but I've felt crazy and depressed lately, and I'm finally starting to realize it might be because of Vienva. If anyone else is in this boat, you're not alone."

For Birth Control "I didn’t have any issues with this birth control. It was the first one I was put on, so I don’t have many to compare it to, but overall I never had an issue with it. It made my periods a lot shorter and lighter (from 7 days and extreme pain to 4 days and moderate pain). I did gain a bit of weight, and it didn’t help with my acne too much, but I was mostly looking for something to help my periods, which it did. I just recently switched due to manufacturing issues, but hopefully it comes back!"

For Birth Control "I am 20 years old, 21 in a few days, and let me just say that everybody is different and everyone reacts to drugs differently. Don't let the reviews scare you because when I first started, these reviews gave me so much anxiety, but I honestly had barely any issues with Vienva other than sore boobs and extensive breakthrough bleeding that I can just stop by taking placebos. The breakthrough bleeding is super light as well and barely even there. It gets annoying at times, but that is the only issue I have. No anxiety, no headaches, but everybody is different and this might not be for you!"

For Birth Control "Horrible, I hate these birth control pills, Vienva. They have made me nauseous every morning, gave me headaches for a good week or so, and will get really bad mood swings and make me feel so emotional sometimes. As soon as I finish this pack, I will change to a different brand, or maybe even sooner because I can’t deal with this. Oh, not to forget to mention, I’ve been bleeding since I got my period and have not stopped. I got my period over a week ago... without the pills, my period will only last a few days, 4 days tops."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Vienva for exactly a month now, and I am definitely switching. I have a Dr. appointment tomorrow already. This pill has made my migraines 10x worse. The migraines will last anywhere from 24-36 hrs straight, along with nausea, tiredness, dizziness, throbbing head pain, and mild mood swings. I had awful cramps within the first week of taking it, and my period lasted 15 days. This pill is just awful. I will never take Vienva again."

For Birth Control "So I have been on this birth control for over a year and am now suddenly having really swollen boobs about 2 weeks into the pack, so a week and a half before my period starts. I thought I was pregnant the first few months it happened, but it keeps happening to where I literally can’t touch my boobs or nipples without being in so much pain. Plus, they have grown and are way too big for my body. Don’t know what to do because I don’t have any other bad enough side effects that would make me want to change birth control."

For Birth Control "Ever since I started taking this birth control, I noticed a complete shift in myself. I have been soooooo depressed, and my mood swings are so out of control. Before I started this birth control, I was a very happy and outgoing person, and now I'm so depressed and emotional about everything. My appetite is either extremely hungry or not hungry at all. There will be days when I just keep getting hungry, and other days when I'm hungry maybe once a day, and that's all. I'm always nauseous when I do eat, and my cramps feel just the same as before. Beware and do your research before taking this!!"

For Birth Control "Okay, so I’ve been on the pill for about 6 months. I don’t know if it’s breakthrough bleeding, but ever since the week before Christmas, I am still on my period. At first, it was light, but ever since then, I’ve had my light period, but it’s heavy at the same time. It’s uncomfortable because it’s now February, and I still have my period, and I feel like it’s gotten heavier. I never had any side effects. I mean lately, my mood has been different, but I think it’s because I’ve started drinking water. I’ve been working out more, and lately, I have been stressed, so I think it’s just a mixture of a lot of subjects. When I first started, I was doing fine, no cramps at all, light bleeding when I got my period, no headaches. When I started my pill, I do remember being at work and feeling very, very nauseous, but that was a random day, then it stopped. I knew it was because of the pill. The best part is no cramps."
