Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I was concerned about starting Safyral after reading some of the reviews here, but have been pleasantly surprised by how easy my transition onto it has been. I was not on any contraceptive previously, and when I started my Safyral regimen my only side effect was very light spotting for the first month. Not only did I escape mood swings, weight gain, acne, nausea, etc., but my usual menstrual symptoms (bloating, cramps, breakouts) have become almost nonexistent. I am not yet sexually active, so I can't speak to Safyral's effectiveness as a contraceptive, but I've been very happy with it in the meantime."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I had been taking Microgestin Fe 1.5/30 for 2 years until it started giving me bad cramping and breakthrough bleeding on the active pills. I think my body was starting to reject it, or the dosage just wasn't high enough anymore. Then my doctor suggested trying Safyral and gave me 2 free samples. I just finished my first month, and it wasn't too bad. The worst side effect I had was nausea. My breasts felt fuller, but they went back to their normal size after my period. My period was lighter, and the cramping wasn't that bad. I didn't gain any weight or feel bloated. I will have to see how this next month is... I plan on staying on this pill!"

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I haven't been on this pill for very long, but my doctor gave me some free samples because I was having breakthrough bleeding with LoEstrin. So far, my main complaint is nausea. I have never felt so consistently sick in my life - not even with the flu! I'll post again when I've been on it longer about weight gain, mood swings, cramps, etc."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I was put on Safyral in 2010 and took it for about 4 months. The nausea was the main reason I came off of it. I always felt terrible, and I gained a lot of weight fast. My period never came back after I came off the pills. I was still able to get pregnant twice, still no periods. Just this year (2020), I had my first period in almost 10 years! I have had hormone tests, Pap smears, everything, and they all have said that there's nothing abnormal. But it's weird that I had a normal period like clockwork before I started that birth control and the almost 10 years of nothing. By the way, I am now 28 years old, so I'm nowhere near menopause. I do not have PCOS or any other hormonal issues. The only thing doctors can think of is possibly this birth control did something."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Acne "I went through 3 horrible months! I started with nausea and vomiting. Then I broke out all over my jaw and chin. I had no sex drive and was extremely fatigued. I was always extremely hot and sweaty and felt short of breath. Not for me."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "On day 7 of Beyaz. I'm 22, and I was previously taking Femcon. I discontinued because of severe anxiety that could or could not have been related to the birth control (it's hard to tell sometimes if the symptoms are the pill or just you). I took a year break off of birth control before starting Beyaz. So far, I have mixed feelings. I have been feeling panicky and moody, but again, I'm not sure if that is a product of the birth control or my GAD. I also went back on birth control for my skin because I have bothersome acne. I have been developing pretty severe headaches, and I have also been feeling nauseous. My doctor said these symptoms will go away with time, so for now I am going to stick it out and see."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "When I first started taking Beyaz, it was great. I had no problems, but towards the end of the cycle, I had a terrible attitude, was very emotional, nauseous, and had too many headaches. Once my period was gone, it came back a day after, and it was light to medium. Very bad cramps. My appetite increased a lot more when I started. But everyone's body is different and would react differently to the pills."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Acne "I like this pill for the most part! I am taking it for many things, but mainly acne, it cleared up in a month! I have a lighter period and no cramps. The first period on it was irregular because my body had to get used to the hormones. It’s effective in protection and also helped with PMS. One thing I will say is that I struggled with nausea and food aversions to things I really used to love, but other than that, I like it :)"

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "No breakthrough bleeding, felt the best that I ever had, lost weight, and felt like my old self again. So, I started this medicine in April 2012 and am currently on it, and it's October 2012. This will be my last pack. I have experienced nausea, bloating, mood swings, sadness, depression, fatigue, and just don't feel like myself anymore."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I've been on Beyaz for 6 days now, and I feel slightly different. Started on the first day of my period. I don't know if it's me, but I've been feeling nauseous on day 5 and a tiny headache here and there. Hope this is just a beginning process. Let's see how it goes. I'm not liking how I feel. Just blah."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for about a month and a half now. This is my first time on birth control, so I did not understand all the changes that were going on. BUT I started craving so many things, and also nausea will come! Also, many mood swings, especially when my period is near, all I want to do is cry, and acne was HORRIBLE. I did not gain weight or anything like that, though."

For Birth Control "The first 3 and a half months were rough! For starters, I had a pretty regular period prior to the pill, slight PMS, slight cramping and breast tenderness, normal to light periods, 1-2 pimples before my period, etc. I just chose this pill because most people said they didn’t gain weight. The first 3 months I experienced extreme change of moods, extreme nausea, uncomfortable bloating, and constipation. Worst part of it all? Really dark thoughts (never, ever, ever experienced this prior to these pills). I’m going into month 5, and most of these symptoms have subsided or have lessened. I will definitely discontinue use if dark thoughts continue anytime something major happens."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I have been on Safyral for two months, no babies. I used to have heavy periods, but they are lighter now. But I did gain weight, breasts got bigger and very tender. My skin is very broken out, I have a lot of headaches and nausea."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I switched to Safyral two months ago after losing my insurance and needing free samples to carry me until my new job provided me with coverage. I have been on Ocella and Yasmin, depending on which was free at the time of refill, since I was 15 (now 26) and have had a great experience. My periods were always regular, minimal breakthrough bleeding (only occurring when I missed a pill or two), no cramps, 3-4 day periods with very light bleeding. Since switching to Safyral, I experience consistent breakthrough bleeding. Three to four days before I expect my period, I get nauseous, dizzy/faint, and get horrible cramps. I'm really looking forward to going back to Ocella. This is not similar to Ocella and Yasmin as I was told previously."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I have been taking Beyaz for like a month now, and I wasn’t having any problems until the effects kicked in within the month. I had a nightmare of an experience. I was feeling depressed, so sad for an action that I did which wasn’t even bad to begin with. I was feeling nauseous, blurred/foggy vision (which was high blood pressure). I felt trapped. I felt this way for like 3 days straight. It was so scary. However, my skin is super clear, which was why I began the pill in the first place. My sex drive has definitely lowered, which I’m the total opposite. I’m a very happy, funny person, but this made me feel not myself. I was getting panic attacks and anxiety with sadness. I never read on side effects, but this time I did, and it was the pill. I’m so relieved to find out what it was."

For Birth Control "The side effects were just horrible. Terrible nausea to the point where I vomited a few times. Bad back pain. My boobs were sore and got much bigger (may be a good thing for some - I was not happy about it). I usually NEVER get headaches, but I got several a week once I started taking this. Sex became painful and I had zero sex drive, which seemed to defeat the purpose. My cramps felt like knives in my uterus - different than my normal cramping but the same amount of pain either way. The good parts were that my periods were lighter and regular, and it seemed to clear up my skin after the first month. Everyone's body is different, but this did NOT work for me and I will be going off of it asap."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "This was the worst medication I've ever taken. It gave me terrible nausea, cramps, and stomach pain. I was somehow allergic to the placebo reminder pills - it gave me hives and trouble breathing. It also caused bladder spasms. You couldn't pay me to take this again."
