Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "So I've been on this birth control for about three months. In the beginning, I was hungry all the time, and it really upset my stomach. After about three weeks, that was gone and it was awesome. No babies. Easy periods, almost no cramps, it was too good to be true. Now here I am, three months into the pill, and I've hit a horrible depression. I've never been depressed. But every day I cry and get so sad I can't go out, and I don't want to eat or do anything. I've diminished. So I've decided to get off the pill immediately. I think I'll stick to the condoms. I would rather use condoms than be overwhelmingly sad all the time."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "Beyaz worked as far as making my menstrual cycle come at the same time, but it made me moody, tired, and really depressed. I'm happy to say I'm switching over and hope my new birth control takes care of the skin breakouts Beyaz caused."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I was put on this birth control at the age of 14 due to severe ovarian cysts and breakthrough bleeding from other pills. It was absolutely wonderful the first two years. My skin glowed, I kept a great weight, my periods were always on time. However, all this soon went downhill around the third year. I started to have overwhelming feelings of depression wash over me multiple times during the day, I became sluggish, I didn't want to do things with friends or family, and my relationships suffered greatly overall. After stopping this pill, my mood swings diminished, and I feel like my old self again. Never going back to this pill again."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I have been on this pill for two years. I switched to this from Ortho Tri-Cyclen because I was having breakthrough bleeding. One month into it, I was having terrible cystic acne, two months into it, I had a severe panic attack. Two years later, I am incredibly depressed and bloated before my period, along with crazy migraines for 3-4 days straight. I am unable to lose weight even with running 4 miles a day. I am switching to Lo Loestrin 24 Fe and will try a lower-dosed pill. I have also experienced terrible leg cramps and fatigue like never before."

For Birth Control "I started taking Yaz in 2007, and I loved it. When my insurance no longer covered the brand name Yaz, I started taking Safyral in 2013 and had no side effects. I was very happy with the medication. In October of 2018, my insurance no longer covered Safyral, so I tried the generic version Tydemy for 3 months, and I had horrible mood swings, my skin started breaking out, and I felt depressed and was crying all the time. It was to the point that my husband told me I was acting like a completely different person. The only reason I gave this medication 2 stars is because it did its job of protecting me from getting pregnant. I would have rather had the $50 copay for Safyral, but even that is no longer an option."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "There are 4 pills left in the pack and all I can say is I am happy I have finally found the pill that works for me. I've tried a few different birth controls, but they all made me bleed for months on end. Had the Depo shot in my teens, came off of it, I had to go to the hospital. Tried it again at 25 years old: had 1 shot and bled for legit 5 months straight. I requested a low-dose pill. Took Lo Loestrin Fe for 1 month and that made me VERY on edge, angry, and depressed (I'm usually happy). Told my doctor I was 'done trying birth control!', but she persisted I try something else. She identified progesterone was too much for my system and thus came Safyral. I legit have zero side effects. Best decision ever. Going to get my new pack tonight!"

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I took this birth control pill because I was experiencing extreme PMDD symptoms. My doctor put me on this hoping it would help and ease my symptoms by the intake of the hormones. This medication drained my whole life. It caused anxiety, depression, mood swings, bouts of crying every single day, and I spent 3 months of my whole summer break in bed, literally. I finally came off of it next week, and I can already feel like myself again. Stay away from this drug, it's also a generic for 'YAZ,' which is absolutely horrible. Stay away, please."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "BEYAZ is my worst enemy! I took this BC pill for 1 1/2 months. Completed week 1, and the mood swings started. Week 3, I started bleeding light with minor cramps. Week 4, my light bleeding turned into heavy bleeding, changing my pad every hour or less. The cramps were no longer minor, they were just unbearable that I had to take Norco and Ibuprofen at the same time just to take the edge off. I spoke to my GYN about the symptoms, and I was advised to give it another try even after I was in the ER injected with Dilaudid. Started the 2nd pack as the bleeding and cramping still continue. Put on Vicodin and Naproxen for pain. I became depressed, angry, isolated, emotionally unattached, and extremely tired. I quit taking it midway, and now I'm in recovery."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I have been taking Beyaz for like a month now, and I wasn’t having any problems until the effects kicked in within the month. I had a nightmare of an experience. I was feeling depressed, so sad for an action that I did which wasn’t even bad to begin with. I was feeling nauseous, blurred/foggy vision (which was high blood pressure). I felt trapped. I felt this way for like 3 days straight. It was so scary. However, my skin is super clear, which was why I began the pill in the first place. My sex drive has definitely lowered, which I’m the total opposite. I’m a very happy, funny person, but this made me feel not myself. I was getting panic attacks and anxiety with sadness. I never read on side effects, but this time I did, and it was the pill. I’m so relieved to find out what it was."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I've been taking this for two months. I've lost a much-needed 25 pounds, and my face is always clear. I have noticed a slight depression, though, but I feel it's tolerable and worth it."
