Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I just finished a package of Safyral yesterday, and so far I've had no weight gain, my acne has cleared up some, and my period came when it was supposed to. However, I have had spotting all through the first month, which the doctor said was normal, so I have no complaints other than one really big one. While being on this pill, I have had serious depression. I'm always moody, crying, and sad. I am so sad that I have no appetite, no desire to go out, I'm never happy. In fact, I get raging angry sometimes, and I cannot control any of this. I am hoping that this side effect goes away soon."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "Been on this birth control now for 4 months. It works well as it prevents pregnancy, but so far, I've had very heavy periods and severe cramps and tons of chin acne. Yaz never gave me these issues. I want to switch, but the doctor told me to give it another 3 months to see what happens. If I still don't like it, then she said I can switch. I must stick it out until then."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "Overall, this was a good pill for me. The only reason I stopped taking it was because I wanted to switch to a form of birth control that I didn't have to take every day. At first, for maybe the first two weeks, I felt more depressed, but after that, I felt the same as usual. I did spot through pretty much the whole second month, BUT that has happened with every birth control I have been on, so I think it is just my body. There was also a mild increase in acne toward the end of the first pack, but it went away and my skin became very clear. This pill was also helpful for excess hair growth that I have in certain areas. It was a helpful pill for my PMS symptoms and to regulate my periods."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I have been on this for about 6 months now and started on it to help with my irregular and heavy periods, as well as a contraceptive. Let me just say all women's hormones are different, but for me, this works. Don't have acne (never really had a problem with it before). I start my pills on a Friday, and when I finish my active pills, I have my period on a Tuesday/Wednesday. It's prevented pregnancy (I'm only 21, don't want a baby) and keeps my periods in check. I love it!"

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I started Safyral in April for irregular menstrual cycle and severe PMS. My only complaint was that for about a week or two, I was spotting off and on, but my periods are very light. I'm used to a very heavy flow, no backaches, cramps. I still will get an occasional pimple, literally 1 or 2, a few days before my cycle, but no acne, mood swings, or depression. My only regret is not starting this sooner."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "So I will say that Beyaz has served its course. I've been on it for a little over a year and can only offer 2 pros. Pros: it stopped my period, it prevented pregnancy. Cons: the mood swings are terrible, I am always irritated, every little thing bothers me, I am so rude to my husband. Not to mention, I cry at the drop of a dime. Before Beyaz, I could count on one hand the number of times I had cried in the last 5 years. Also, the weight gain. My doctor put me on Beyaz because it was supposed to help me lose weight. Instead, I have gained everywhere, and although I constantly work out, I can't lose the weight. I have never had acne, so I can't really speak on that, but I will say that I have had quite a few breakouts while being on Beyaz."

For Acne "I took Yaz for several years and was put on the generic version of this by Sandoz, so I didn’t have to pay for birth control. Honestly, it has been awful. My acne is out of control, like I have never experienced before in my life. My emotions are all over the place, and I feel like I can’t control them. I also experience horrible menstrual pain and headaches. I really wish I could go back on Yaz because it worked much better than the generic version made by Sandoz."

For Birth Control "I originally started on the original Beyaz on May 27, 2016, at the age of 37 for heavy menstrual periods as well as PMDD. At first, it was wonderful. My periods were so light, and next to no cramping! Mood stabilized. Then in the beginning of November, I was given the brand new fresh on the market generic. Three months into it, my periods started to get heavier. Fast forward another two months, and they're pretty much back to being as heavy as they were before I was even put on the pill. Cramping badly, mood completely out of control, skin breaking out more. Also suddenly experiencing brown, sometimes mixed with red discharge off and on, which I NEVER had before, even when I first started taking the pill."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I started Beyaz about 6 months ago. The first 3 months were great. No acne. No crying. No anger or crazy mood swings. The last 2 or 3 months have been bad, though. My face started breaking out, I am very emotional and angry. I don't know if it's because my pharmacy started giving me the generic version or it's the hormones, but everything was great until recently."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "Beyaz worked as far as making my menstrual cycle come at the same time, but it made me moody, tired, and really depressed. I'm happy to say I'm switching over and hope my new birth control takes care of the skin breakouts Beyaz caused."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for about a month and a half now. This is my first time on birth control, so I did not understand all the changes that were going on. BUT I started craving so many things, and also nausea will come! Also, many mood swings, especially when my period is near, all I want to do is cry, and acne was HORRIBLE. I did not gain weight or anything like that, though."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I have been on this pill for five months now, going on 6. I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for years, almost 10, then my body started to reject it. But I loved it. Perfectly timed periods and no side effects whatsoever. My doctor switched me to Natazia. Terrible. I had terrible acne and ridiculous bloating and weight gain all in my stomach area. I work out regularly and eat healthy. My only vice is alcohol. So after three months on that pill, I was switched to Safyral. I get very bloated one week before my period. My period is very heavy. I get bad cramps, although this month they seem to have subsided, as today is the first of my placebo pills and no cramps this month. But I am very bloated. Acne minimum."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I've been on this for about a month, and the first week was great. But then I started to bleed heavily, and it hasn't stopped for two weeks. I've got bad back aches and terrible acne, as well as bloating. I'm looking forward to switching off this and onto Lo Loestrin Fe."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I have been on this pill for two years. I switched to this from Ortho Tri-Cyclen because I was having breakthrough bleeding. One month into it, I was having terrible cystic acne, two months into it, I had a severe panic attack. Two years later, I am incredibly depressed and bloated before my period, along with crazy migraines for 3-4 days straight. I am unable to lose weight even with running 4 miles a day. I am switching to Lo Loestrin 24 Fe and will try a lower-dosed pill. I have also experienced terrible leg cramps and fatigue like never before."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Acne "I started birth control about a month ago for bad cramps and to regulate my period. I never really had bad acne before, but I've been on Beyaz for a month now, and my acne is bad. I have at least 4 large pimples on my face at all times, which I'm not used to. I don't know if I should stick it out and see if it gets better or if I should switch to a different birth control. Other than the acne, Beyaz is really helping with my periods. They last 3 days at the most and little to no cramps at all."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I have been on Safyral for two months, no babies. I used to have heavy periods, but they are lighter now. But I did gain weight, breasts got bigger and very tender. My skin is very broken out, I have a lot of headaches and nausea."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Acne "In the beginning, I was emotional and all over the place, and I also broke out. I am now near the three-end mark, and my skin has improved tremendously. I do have scars, and I've never been one to get scars from picking at pimples, but I'm not sure if the pills had something to do with it or if picking at them did. Other than that, all the side effects have subsided, and my skin is the clearest it has been in a long, long time!!"

For Birth Control "I started taking Yaz in 2007, and I loved it. When my insurance no longer covered the brand name Yaz, I started taking Safyral in 2013 and had no side effects. I was very happy with the medication. In October of 2018, my insurance no longer covered Safyral, so I tried the generic version Tydemy for 3 months, and I had horrible mood swings, my skin started breaking out, and I felt depressed and was crying all the time. It was to the point that my husband told me I was acting like a completely different person. The only reason I gave this medication 2 stars is because it did its job of protecting me from getting pregnant. I would have rather had the $50 copay for Safyral, but even that is no longer an option."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I was on Safyral for 4 months. I had breakthrough bleeding the first month, then it stopped (which was very fast for me! It was great). However, my acne increased, and I was tired all the time. Also, I had terribly sore breasts and white vaginal discharge every last week of active pills. My periods became much lighter with fewer cramps. When I stopped taking the pill, my acne was 90% gone the next day! I couldn't believe it! My face looked cleaner than before I started this pill. I was off the pill for a month, and my acne still is very small (which is good because I used to have bad breakouts). A couple of days ago, I started taking LoEstrin 24, we'll see what it does."

"This medication helped my symptoms of PCOS greatly. It helped my acne and mood symptoms, plus my body retains fluid, and this helped keep the fluid off. If you have PCOS, it is worth giving it a shot. The only downside is insurance doesn't want to cover it anymore. I was paying $25 for it, but now due to my insurance not covering it, the price is $150. I now have to go to a generic, so hopefully it works just as well."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I'm 29 and have been on Safyral for 3 months now for irregular bleeding. I have breast tenderness, bad cramps, acne, and I am also very moody! My anxiety level has raised a little, and the bleeding is heavier than normal. This is also my first time ever taking the pill. This is my last pack I'm taking."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I started Beyaz a year ago, and wow, it's been a trip! First 3 months, I bled non-stop. I started the pill at the beginning of my period, so naturally, I went the first few days with my period. But after my usual 3-4 day cycle, I wouldn't stop bleeding. It wasn't period bleeding, but there was definitely spotting to the point where I had to wear a liner or pad. For 3 consecutive months, I spotted non-stop. When I went back to the doctor for my next packets, she said I just needed to adjust. As soon as I started my 4th month, things were normal. I stopped spotting, I bled only during my period, and things were fine. I also broke out only on my chin during the first 2 months. Eventually, it cleared up and everything was good. I haven't had a pregnancy scare, my boyfriend and I never use condoms, so I think it's been really effective. The only thing I will say is that I used to rarely get cramps before, and now I get some, usually on my first day, and now my periods are about 4-5 days instead of 3-4."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Acne "I have been on Beyaz for the last 5 years. Early this year, my pharmacy mailed a 3-month supply of Rajani instead of Beyaz, and my face was flawless during those three months. After the 3 months were up, my pharmacy started mailing Beyaz again, and I have had very small breakouts (as I have during my Beyaz experience). I like Beyaz, as my acne is much better than it used to be, but I will be requesting my pharmacy to switch me to the generic Rajani, as it has been the best BC for acne for me so far."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "This is the only birth control pill that's been effective for me; I tried around 4 other pills before I discovered this one. No breakthrough bleeding (one of the biggest problems I had with the other pills), and it's made my periods so much lighter (I used to bleed through tampons and pads, and now my period is way lighter). I haven't gotten pregnant, so I guess it's also doing what it's supposed to do, lol. Another bonus: I used to get painful cystic acne on my chin whenever it was my time of the month, and since beginning this pill, I haven't had to deal with any acne whatsoever! The only problem I have with it is that I cry a bit more than I used to, but I don't really mind."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I was concerned about starting Safyral after reading some of the reviews here, but have been pleasantly surprised by how easy my transition onto it has been. I was not on any contraceptive previously, and when I started my Safyral regimen my only side effect was very light spotting for the first month. Not only did I escape mood swings, weight gain, acne, nausea, etc., but my usual menstrual symptoms (bloating, cramps, breakouts) have become almost nonexistent. I am not yet sexually active, so I can't speak to Safyral's effectiveness as a contraceptive, but I've been very happy with it in the meantime."
