"I have been on Beyaz for only 5 days. My doctor recommended it knowing that I am a smoker, but I'm only 25. I already had a tubal ligation, so Beyaz is for hormones and acne. I feel very nauseous and have severe migraines, loss of appetite, extremely tired, also, I have a nasty taste in my mouth that just won't go away, no matter how much I brush, floss, or use mouthwash. I'm not sure if I could handle these side effects, being a 2 and 3. Working full-time, I have to have the most energy possible. These side effects don't help."

"I’ve been on Beyaz for about a year now, and I’m loving it! The only thing I have noticed is, when taking it, make sure you take the pills at the same time or 30 minutes after you usually take it. I noticed when I got COVID, I would sleep all night and day, and it made it so I would spot (that sucked), but other than that, if you’re good at taking your pills on time and you want to skip your period, TAKE THIS BIRTH CONTROL!!"

"I had been using the pill for 8 years. I used the first version of this pill, Yaz, then switched to Beyaz when it came out. I went about my life for a few years and then considered switching to Ashlyan, which is just one period every 3 months. Well, let me tell you, having only one period every 3 months is MAGICAL. Unfortunately, my acne went full force, 6 months into the new pill, my entire face was broken out. I was using the strong topical prescription available, and still just getting worse. I was at my lowest when I realized the problem was probably the pill. I spoke with my doc, and we decided I could switch back to Beyaz and just get 2 extra packs a year and still get only 1 period every 3 months. 1 month into Beyaz, and my face is clear again!"

"I just finished my first pack. The pros: I've lost 13 lbs, my face is less oily, and my mood is better than it was. The cons: I too craved sugar after starting this pill, I had hair loss the first few weeks, my vision has become a problem, especially in fluorescent lighting, started having headaches, I feel more tired, breathing has become heavier than normal, and breast tenderness."

"I’m 19, 5’7’’ and weigh 135 lbs, and I’ve been on birth control since I was 16. My periods were so bad ever since they started. I bled so much, but it only lasted about 3-4 days. I would get really bad hot flashes and deep aching cramps with my periods (even on birth control). My hormones were all over the place. I’m on my 3rd pack (I skip my periods). I was scared to go back on birth control because of how nauseous and crazy I felt on my other type. I have not had anything negative happen so far with Beyaz. I’m pretty sure I’ve lost a pound or two, haven’t had any period bleeding or symptoms (bye-bye hot flashes), my boobs are very tender and have grown like 2 cup sizes, they’ve grown so much that I feel like they’re in the way now, lol. Well, with bigger boobs comes forth a very excited boyfriend, but now I literally have no sex drive. I feel bad, haha. I used to, but now I don’t. Overall, I 10/10 recommend. It’s a game changer."

"I've been taking Beyaz for about 5 years now. I started when I was 14 because of severe cramps. It worked great for a while, but in the last few months, I have experienced spotting and longer periods with more severe cramps. I am going to speak to a doctor about trying another pill."

"I have been on Beyaz for about 3 weeks after switching from Yaz due to cost. Now I feel more bloated, depressed, and have experienced weight gain. I have also had headaches. I haven't had a real period in several months since Yaz would just make me have cramping, not actually bleeding. I even have taken tests to ensure I wasn't pregnant because I wasn't bleeding. I'm not sure if the same thing works for Beyaz or not. I just hope my body adapts to this and I start to lose weight again and get energy back."

"I've been using this birth control for 7 years. I love it! At first, I definitely saw a change with myself. Positive and negative. My period became shorter, and my skin cleared up so quick! I have not had a pimple on my skin since starting this. The only negative I can think of is a little bit of weight gain and an emotional side effect. I definitely felt a little more sensitive and anxious after taking it, but nothing crazy enough to go off the pill. Definitely recommend for people who are struggling with acne or bad breakouts."

"I was concerned about starting Safyral after reading some of the reviews here, but have been pleasantly surprised by how easy my transition onto it has been. I was not on any contraceptive previously, and when I started my Safyral regimen my only side effect was very light spotting for the first month. Not only did I escape mood swings, weight gain, acne, nausea, etc., but my usual menstrual symptoms (bloating, cramps, breakouts) have become almost nonexistent. I am not yet sexually active, so I can't speak to Safyral's effectiveness as a contraceptive, but I've been very happy with it in the meantime."

"Gained twelve pounds in the first 2 weeks! I don't get it? That is my only side effect, but it is a bad one. I already eat healthy and work out regularly, and I can't seem to drop this weight from the pill."

"My experience with Safyral had been an overall good one, but it didn't start out that way. During the first month, all through the second month, I had horrible mood swings. Borderline depression, it felt like. But after the second month, it went away, I started feeling better. I've had no acne. No weight gain. Lighter flows. So I guess this pill is different for everyone based on the other reviews, but this is a great one for me, and I plan to keep using it for a long time."

"I just finished a package of Safyral yesterday, and so far I've had no weight gain, my acne has cleared up some, and my period came when it was supposed to. However, I have had spotting all through the first month, which the doctor said was normal, so I have no complaints other than one really big one. While being on this pill, I have had serious depression. I'm always moody, crying, and sad. I am so sad that I have no appetite, no desire to go out, I'm never happy. In fact, I get raging angry sometimes, and I cannot control any of this. I am hoping that this side effect goes away soon."

"Safyral has been a great birth control pill for me. I lost water weight from my previous birth control plus some, skin is clear, no unusual mood swings. My only complaints about it are from 2 days before my period until 3 days into it, I get a bit of stomach bloat, and my left ankle tends to get sore and swollen when on my feet too long. Sometimes I crave sweets at certain times of the month. The pill is more expensive, but a great birth control pill. I highly recommend it."

"I have been on this for a month and have had a horrible experience with my mood change. I have always been a happy person, and now for the last week, I am so depressed and I am constantly feeling a nervous feeling in my gut, like anxiety. I had a baby 2 months ago, and even through my pregnancy, I never felt any mood swings or depression. I talked to my doctor and have decided to stop this birth control. Hope it'll fix this sad feeling."

"I started taking Beyaz in 2016 and was on it for four years. I never had any serious side effects, just headache, some slight stomach pain, and mood swings. I am now back on it after being off for a year, and I’ve had much worse mood swings. I’m hoping they will subside in the coming weeks and am willing to stick to it because I have PCOS and my periods suck. It does wonders for my acne, and I have very regular, easy periods on it. It’s nice knowing when I’m going to start, and I only bleed for about 3-4 days. I do notice I have a much lower sex drive when I’m on it, though. All in all, this birth control is good, and the good outweighs the bad."

"I started this birth control when I was 18. It was then called Yaz and changed to Beyaz. I love it, it shortens my periods to 2 to 3 days, and that was back then. I have had 2 kids, and after nursing and using a different pill during that time, I got back on Beyaz. Now it has actually stopped my periods after a couple of months of use. I highly recommend trying this pill, I have had zero issues with it-all positive from this gal! (I am now 28), so I've used this for a long time."

"I had been taking Microgestin Fe 1.5/30 for 2 years until it started giving me bad cramping and breakthrough bleeding on the active pills. I think my body was starting to reject it, or the dosage just wasn't high enough anymore. Then my doctor suggested trying Safyral and gave me 2 free samples. I just finished my first month, and it wasn't too bad. The worst side effect I had was nausea. My breasts felt fuller, but they went back to their normal size after my period. My period was lighter, and the cramping wasn't that bad. I didn't gain any weight or feel bloated. I will have to see how this next month is... I plan on staying on this pill!"

"Been on this birth control now for 4 months. It works well as it prevents pregnancy, but so far, I've had very heavy periods and severe cramps and tons of chin acne. Yaz never gave me these issues. I want to switch, but the doctor told me to give it another 3 months to see what happens. If I still don't like it, then she said I can switch. I must stick it out until then."

"I've been taking Beyaz for about a week now, and it has been great. The only side effect I've really had a problem with is intense cravings. None of the other side effects (clearer skin, increased libido) have been a problem for me in the slightest. I would say that starting to take Beyaz was a wonderful choice."

"I haven't been on this pill for very long, but my doctor gave me some free samples because I was having breakthrough bleeding with LoEstrin. So far, my main complaint is nausea. I have never felt so consistently sick in my life - not even with the flu! I'll post again when I've been on it longer about weight gain, mood swings, cramps, etc."

"I was put on Safyral two months ago after being on Camrese due to breakthrough bleeding. Safyral definitely took care of that issue, but it came with several others. I now have very painful cramps just before and on my period. My periods last 7 days and are very heavy (which is normal for me off of birth control), and I'm constantly bloated. I also get headaches more than usual and have gained about 4 lbs and cannot lose weight at all. Going tomorrow to hopefully switch to a lower dose again."

"Beyaz was the first birth control I experienced, and I was on it for 2 years. It was nearly the perfect pill for me: no weight change, no mood swings, I regulated to it immediately, it dramatically shortened my periods to 3-4 days, and was exactly on time every single month. The ONLY two problems I had that warranted me switching included a decreased sex drive and multiple yeast infections. It was also a tad pricy. If it weren't for the yeast infections at least, I would stay on it! I'm nervous about switching pills, but I'm glad to know that I can go back on Beyaz if the others don't work out."

"I was put on Safyral in 2010 and took it for about 4 months. The nausea was the main reason I came off of it. I always felt terrible, and I gained a lot of weight fast. My period never came back after I came off the pills. I was still able to get pregnant twice, still no periods. Just this year (2020), I had my first period in almost 10 years! I have had hormone tests, Pap smears, everything, and they all have said that there's nothing abnormal. But it's weird that I had a normal period like clockwork before I started that birth control and the almost 10 years of nothing. By the way, I am now 28 years old, so I'm nowhere near menopause. I do not have PCOS or any other hormonal issues. The only thing doctors can think of is possibly this birth control did something."

"This medication is absolutely terrible. I was given the generic, Rajani, and for the last three months my face is completely broken out. It hasn't handled my PMDD, and I've had breakthrough bleeding. This medication is the worst, and my skin is so bad I'm embarrassed to go out in public."

"I have been on Safyral for 2 months. I like it a lot so far. I have had some breakthrough bleeding, but I think that is because I started the pill in the middle of my cycle when I had an IUD (Mirena) removed after 4 years. My skin looks great. I get mild bloating and breast tenderness just before my period, which goes away with the start of my period. Nothing majorly inconvenient. I think that after a few months of use, when my hormones get back on a normal cycle, things will even out."
