Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "Beyaz was the third birth control pill I had tried. I was previously on Loestrin 24 (made me a raving lunatic), then on Lo Loestrin 10 (gave me no period at all, which made me uncomfortable and more susceptible to vaginal infections). I was skeptical about starting a new pill, but this one is wonderful! The only side effects I have are tender and enlarged breasts. I highly recommend it!"

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "I have been on Beyaz for several years (3+). When I first started using the pill, I experienced frequent nausea for almost a year. I gradually switched the time of dosage to the evening upon recommendation from my obgyn. The nausea did clear up. I virtually have no acne. Within the first few years, I did have lighter periods (3-5 day bleeding with minimal cramping). However, in my fourth year of being on this pill, I have been getting my period for only a day. Most times I skip a period entirely. This is due to the thin uterine lining. I did, however, develop severe mood swings and panic attacks, which I suffer from daily. I also have had some hair thinning and some weight gain. Loss of libido at first, but it did return after the 1st year."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "I started taking Beyaz after trying Lo Loestrin Fe, that made me terribly sick. My friend had recommended it to me. I had no side effects, and my period is only like 4 or 5 days long. There's no tiredness or mood swings before I get my period either. No spotting, no increase in acne. My sex drive has stayed the same. My mood has been so much lighter. Beyaz is great! I would recommend it to anyone that has had problems with other birth control pills. It's a miracle."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "I feel wonderful taking Beyaz, but it's not perfect. It really helped with moderate acne, sometimes I would break out on my back and chest. Since taking it, I don't remember when I had a blemish. I have no mood swings, bloating, or weight gain-I'm actually at my lowest weight. The best thing is my sex drive is great. The only minus is my period still varies, sometimes it's heavy, sometimes it's light, and I'm still getting intensive cramps the first day. But honestly, I have no other issues, and I can deal with it."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "I started Beyaz 2 years ago, then stopped it for about a year because I didn't need it (so I thought). I wasn't in any type of serious relationship when I stopped taking it, then proceeded to end up in something serious. I decided to get back on it (3-4 months ago), and I truly love this pill. This go-round, I take it as directed, every day on the same hour. I've missed one dosage and just doubled up the next day and started back my routine as directed. My periods weren't regular when I first started it, but continuing it, sticking with it, and taking it as directed... they became regular. Not so heavy (sometimes have clots, but I can handle that). I really recommend this pill. But take it like you're supposed to! Also: no weight gain for me!"

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "Great birth control pill. I use it for contraception (the only form I regularly use) and for polycystic ovarian syndrome symptom management. Prior to trying Safyral, I tried two other brands and had horrific side effects. The only one I get on this pill is cravings! Mostly for sugar and sometimes carbs, which I try hard to avoid! I would highly recommend this pill!"

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "I was on Loestrin FE for 5 years, and I was also diagnosed with bipolar disorder while I was in high school. Loestrin worked for a little bit, but I gained 20 pounds quickly. I still had sexual desire mentally, but my body wouldn't react, and I was always too tired or too moody or too emotional. Since I've been on it for a while, the side effects seemed like they hit me a second time, and it was like my period was playing peek-a-boo with me. But 3 months ago, I switched to Beyaz, and I've never been happier and more... well... attacking my fiancé. I give Beyaz a 10 and highly recommend it! And I'm 20."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "I have only been on Beyaz for a week, but I have noticed a significant decrease in appetite. I have already lost weight on this pill. So far, I have noticed increased minor headaches and nausea the first few days. So far, I really like this pill, the last pill I was on made me gain weight, and I was very emotional. Hope it continues to be a good pill for me."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "Only been on this pill a month, but it is the only one so far that stopped the irregular bleeding I was having. I have tried Lo Estrin and Kariva, and so far this is the winner! I will update after my second pack."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "I have been on Beyaz for a little over a week, and I feel like a crazy person. Like so many of the comments I've read, I also switched from Yaz to Beyaz after its Bayer Saver's Program expired. Now I have headaches almost daily and am extremely moody. It's terrible."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "I have been on Beyaz birth control for about 5 years now, and I have never really had any serious problems with it! As a birth control, it seems to be working great, no babies here! I've never really had any acne, however, I used to get random pimples on my thighs, which was so strange to me, but when I started Beyaz, they quickly disappeared. My breasts have grown a substantial amount, but I do not have bad bloating or weight gain in other areas, which is awesome. The only downside I have noticed to this medication is that my mood swings were terrible the first couple of weeks. This is normal when you give your body any extra hormones, so I was not too worried about it. The mood swings stopped about 4 weeks in."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "I've been on Beyaz for almost a year. Since then, I've gone through times of weight gain and loss, which could just be my body's normal function. Recently, I have noticed aversions to certain foods, nausea, severe migraines, and lack of sleep. I haven't noticed a change in sex drive. My skin is flawless, but recently I've had severe migraines."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "As far as birth control and periods went, this was fine. My periods were much less crampy and painful, my skin didn't change at all. However, it was like my personality completely flipped. I felt robbed of my sense of adventure, I had absolutely no interest in going and doing fun things with my family. I've never had depression, but I think this must be what it feels like. I stopped taking it and am almost back to my old self, even though I'm back to having terrible periods. I will take cramps over how I was acting any day of the week."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "I had been on Yaz for close to a year and was using the Bayer card program to get my refills for $25. With the intro of Beyaz into the market, Bayer no longer offers the discounted price for Yaz, so my OBGYN switched me over so I could continue to use my savings card. Since Beyaz is the EXACT same as Yaz, just with folate, I expected to feel no different. SO WRONG! I am SO moody on Beyaz, fine one day and insane the next, crying for no reason, terrible all-day headaches, and breaking out. I was NEVER like that on Yaz! Luckily, my pharmacy has kept both prescriptions active so I can switch back to Yaz and just buy the generic. I miss paying $25, but I will pay $59 to be sane."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "I was on Yaz a few years ago until I couldn't afford it anymore. I absolutely loved it. My face was clear, my period was light, and it worked magic on my absolutely unbearable cramps. I've been on Beyaz for a month now, and I am not really seeing the same things I saw with Yaz just yet. I was really nauseous for the first two weeks, my face is still breaking out (not because of the pill), cramps aren't bad but have not disappeared, and my sex drive has decreased. I'm hoping this is just for the first month and things get better down the line."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "I just finished month 2 of Beyaz and am hoping things get better after month 3. I have had just about every side effect that has been listed except for the mood swings. I have gained quite a bit of weight. In the first few weeks of taking Beyaz, I was very nauseous and vomited a few times. I have daily headaches. I have zero sex drive, and the thought of sex makes me ill when I am usually very sexually active. Thank goodness I have an understanding partner. I am unbelievably tired no matter how much sleep I get. I normally have acne on a regular basis, but it hasn't gotten worse, but I am patiently waiting for it to get better. I will continue to take Beyaz as recommended by my doctor for at least another 2 months and hope things get better."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "I've been on this birth control for about 2 weeks now, and let me explain I've never been on birth control before. I experienced just about no side effects so far, no unusual weight gain, headaches, or cravings. No bad mood swings, and it's already helping my acne (the reason I went on it). The downfall: I've been bleeding for the whole 2 weeks I've been on it. I started it the day of my period as instructed, usually, I bleed for 4-5 days, but I have had my period now for 2 weeks straight. I think it's getting light and about to go away, and then I wake up the next morning, and it's back again! If this side effect continues into the next pack, I may have to give up Beyaz. I am on the generic, by the way."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "It took almost 8 months, but it finally started to work. My periods were so heavy I would go through a Tampax Ultra in less than an hour and have to stay home during my periods. I would have to get up several times during the night. I would bleed some months for 30 days even on the Beyaz. My last two months, I have bled less than three days and can use a lite Tampax. It took a while, but I am so happy I stuck with it. No weight gain either!!!!"

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "So far, I have been on Beyaz for 4 months and have not had any issues. Acne-wise: I have minimal acne, but I do get hormonal cystic acne, which is painful and bothersome. Since being on Beyaz for the past 4 months, I have not had any huge cystic breakouts before or after my period! So far, so good! Weight gain: Within the first month of taking Beyaz, I didn't have much of an appetite (no changes in diet) and lost maybe about 5-6 lbs in a month, but my body must have gotten used to the pill because I gained that all back within the next month (no changes in diet). Thankful I have not had any of the major side effects such as severe cramping or bloating, swelling of ankles, hair loss (my hair is already thin, so I can't really say if that had an effect or not). So far, so good."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "I started taking Yaz in 2007, and I loved it. When my insurance no longer covered the brand name Yaz, I started taking Safyral in 2013 and had no side effects. I was very happy with the medication. In October of 2018, my insurance no longer covered Safyral, so I tried the generic version Tydemy for 3 months, and I had horrible mood swings, my skin started breaking out, and I felt depressed and was crying all the time. It was to the point that my husband told me I was acting like a completely different person. The only reason I gave this medication 2 stars is because it did its job of protecting me from getting pregnant. I would have rather had the $50 copay for Safyral, but even that is no longer an option."

"I switched from Beyaz to this generic form and will be going back to Beyaz. There's something in the ingredients that I'm reacting to. I've gone up a cup size and my boobs swell for no reason... I eat something salty and I'm instantly bloated and my boobs retain water. I can't lose weight. I get emotional before my period (crying, feeling insane anxiety, cramps) and during my period, but like in an unhinged way. I gave it some time (9 months) for my body to get used to the hormones and was hoping my boobs would go back to normal size, but they haven't and I feel fat and emotional. Beyaz is better."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "I started taking this birth control a while back and then stopped after I completed one cycle. I did have a little weight gain because of the carbohydrate cravings. Breast tenderness and bloating were also a factor. Those were my negatives. The positives for me were age-related. I am over 35 and a non-smoker. Therefore, the extra vitamin B and folic acid supplements are excellent. I did stop taking them after the first trial because of the food cravings. After a few months, I decided to try them again. I am on a weight loss plan and have lost weight. I wasn't significantly overweight from the beginning, but needed to drop about fifteen pounds. I reached my goal. My only real concern at this point is will I have the cravings."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "I started Beyaz because it was recommended by a new PA I'm seeing. She said it would help with the PMS symptoms I described. I've nearly completed the first pack and I am feeling completely out of control, depressed, even suicidal, irritable, and so angry. I did not feel this way before, even at my worst PMS times. I started my period about a week before I should have this month. I don't know if I should continue using this pill or not. It just dawned on me that it could be the Beyaz, and after reading the pamphlet and now these postings, I think the Beyaz may be why I've been having these overwhelming symptoms."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "I have taken this pill for two years now. I was originally put on it because of a polyp. The polyp decreased dramatically. I have had no side effects, minus minor spotting. My mood has increased dramatically right before and during my period. I used to have really bad cramps when I would get my period; however, that is practically non-existent now."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "I've been on Beyaz for almost a month now. I really like it. So far, I've had no side effects. That's great. I was on two other birth controls, and they made me gain weight and made my acne get ten times worse and did not help my cramps, and I got badly depressed. Since taking Beyaz, my acne has not gone away completely but has not gotten worse. I have not had any side effects so far. I love it."
