For Birth Control "I started taking Cyred in January of 2016. The first two months I was on it were the pits. I had constant dry blood (brown spotting), mood swings, sore breasts, and increased appetite. It felt like a forever period. Once those two months passed, though, my period regulated itself out, and it would only last about 3 days at most. I would still get pretty mood-swingy around that time, but that's about it. My appetite, sadly, stayed at the more increased level, but eating healthy options helps keep the weight down! It definitely does its job because it's been over two years now, and I'm still pregnancy-free. I have started taking only active pills to skip my period, and on the first try, it seems to be working! This pill may work for some and may not work for others, but just because of a few bad side effects, don't stop it right away, you could be missing out on something good in the long run."

For Birth Control "HOLY ANXIETY AND MOOD SWINGS. I am on my 2nd pack and taking these pills has been something I didn't expect. The first two weeks are so awful for me. I know they say it takes 3 months for the body to adjust, but I honestly don’t know if I can make it that long on these. They make me feel like I am going crazy. I freak out about anything and everything now. Sometimes, I get really, really sad. Other times, I’m angry for no real reason. (This side effect only happened a couple of times, so it wasn’t that bad and hasn’t really come back.) I did not get the sore or tender breasts or headaches they report, so that is nice. I more so have nausea and the mood swings. The nausea didn’t seem too, too bad this time, but the mood swings are still very real and the worst thing about this. I wake up anxious, or one minute I’m happy, the next I’m anxious or sad and wanting to do nothing."

For Birth Control "So a lot of these reviews really scared me, but this pill works great for me. It’s easy to take because it’s small, and I haven’t had any crazy mood swings. It’s been a little strange sometimes, and I might have gained a little weight, but that’s all. If you’ve been prescribed this, I would say just go with it."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Cyred for about a month now, I just finished the first pack. I started taking BC to avoid pregnancy and to regulate my period because I wouldn’t have it for months at a time. The first week my breasts started to get tender, but nothing unbearable. I would get some cramps and constipation, but again, nothing too bad. I did notice some weight gain and an increase in appetite. My breasts have noticeably grown, but I guess that’s a plus. I had clear skin before starting Cyred, and I still have clear skin now. I had moments where I was more emotional and irritable than normal, but it occurred around the time I would start my period. Before Cyred, my heavy periods would last about 5-7 days, but now I would bleed heavily the first day and have a light period the following two days. I take the pill at 8 pm every day (sometimes 1/2 an hour before/after) because I don’t usually wake up at the same time every morning, but I am at least awake at 8 pm every day."

For Birth Control "Been on Cyred for 2 years now, acne clear! In the beginning, I had mood swings, depression went through a really bad time for about 7 months. I decided to put up with it, and now I don't feel like that anymore. Some side effects that were common for me were migraines. Also, with women concerned about weight, what happens is your appetite increases. That goes for any pill, so you really have to watch what you are eating if it does that for you. Other than that, I like my BC."

For Birth Control "Been on this birth control for about a year and a half and never really had any notable side effects until about 4 months ago when I started to notice something was different. My acne came back and was worse than it was before I even started the medication, I’m always stressed and have the worst anxiety, constant migraines, mood swings, complete loss of sex drive, depression, bloating and cramping, loss of motivation, you name it, I’ve gotten it as a side effect. More recently (these past couple of weeks), I’ve been constantly nauseous and have been throwing up almost nonstop. It’s been so bad I’ve had to call out of work. I do not recommend this birth control. DON'T TAKE THIS."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for two months now. At first, it was crazy. Constant mood swings. Bad acne. I was not having it. I don’t mind Cyred right now because it’s not like other birth controls I’ve taken where I’m constantly hungry all the time and gaining weight. But I don’t like how I still get acne as if I wasn’t on it, even with my skin care routine that I’ve had for months and I’ve never had a problem with. I don’t like how I PMS way worse than ever before, and honestly, I don’t like how my breasts got bigger, it honestly made me worry, and now my bras don’t fit. This isn’t a birth control I would suggest, I’m only on it because I can get it through Planned Parenthood and I can’t afford anything else right now."

For Birth Control "I've been using Cyred for about three weeks now, and it's doing a great job at preventing pregnancy, which is its main use for me. But I've been having terrible mood swings and depression from this pill. I've been on two other birth control pills, and they never gave me the mood swings and depression that Cyred has. With this being said, I'm going to stick it out for at least 2 months, since it takes 2-3 months for your body to even regulate the hormones out. I'm hoping this gets better."

For Birth Control "I have been taking birth control for about 2 years now, and I've taken probably 5-6 different pills. This experience was so bad that I wanted to write a review. I never had any side effects with any other pill; my body tends to adjust to the hormones well. This pill was another story. Three weeks in, I noticed the mood swings: depressed, fussy, and grumpy for a few days when nothing is wrong. And not to mention, weight gain was real with this one. My appetite has increased so much. I honestly cannot stop eating. I've gained probably 5-10 pounds in the last week or two."

For Birth Control "This is the worst birth control I've ever been on. I am 25, and for 11 years, I never had side effects. Cyred made me extremely sick; my entire body was constantly swelling and aching. I had breast discharge, my moods were more unstable than they had been from any psychiatric medication before. My skin broke out and hurt; I gained a lot of weight."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Cyred for probably a year and five months, I absolutely love this birth control pill. I have had problems with it, and I’m actually scared to even try another kind because of how good this pill is! I do have mood swings, but I think that’s just me, and I’ve already had acne problems before birth control, and for me, it calmed my acne down. I only really break out around the week I take off for my period. I would recommend this pill!"

For Birth Control "My first birth control ever to try from Planned Parenthood. The only good thing that came out of this was it cleared my acne, didn’t gain weight, and I had regular periods. Took me a good 2 years to figure out Cyred gave me mood swings. I would get very irritated really fast, and I would get angry most of the time. I thought it was just normal. Until I went on a trip and decided not to take the pills because of time zones and I was on the go and realized I was happy. Actually happy. That's when I realized Cyred caused all my mood swings and even my ex noticed the difference when I was off of the pills. Now I’m trying Tarine FE. Let’s see how that goes!"

For Birth Control "Probably the worst experience I've ever had on birth control. Mood swings, bad acne, loss of libido. Straight up miserable the whole 2 months I've been taking it. Prior to starting this pill, I was happy and confident in myself, and I had no acne at all. This pill pretty much ruined my life for the past 2 months. I hate it. Sure, it does its job and my periods were lighter, but it doesn't help that it makes me feel like dirt."

For Birth Control "I switched to Cyred after my last cycle. I’m almost done with the package, and my skin has broken out. I personally usually have very clear skin. I started getting nauseous in the second week, but it has gotten a bit better. I get anxiety every now and then and have several mood swings. Even though I have migraines, I haven't experienced headaches. Overall, it’s affecting my mood and skin in a bad way, so I don't think I’ll even open my next pack that I got. It also makes my stomach hurt really bad at times."

For Birth Control "I was using a form of Cyred for 1 1/2 years that I LOVED. I could skip taking the placebo pills, and I wouldn't get my period or spot. It helped clear my skin, and I didn't notice any mood swings, weight gain, or anything like that. About 3 months ago, when I went to get a replenishment, my gyno said Cyred had changed to Cyred EQ or that was just what they had now, something like that. Anyway, for the past three or so months, I've been taking the 'EQ' version, still skipping the placebo pills in hopes of not getting a period. I did get a period the first month but thought whatever, to be expected when 'switching' birth controls. For the next month and a half, no period, no spotting. Now, for the past three weeks, I've been spotting regularly. It's not heavy, but I do need to wear a panty liner. It'll even stop for a day and then come right back, so it's been pretty annoying, and I'm really hoping that passes with time. Other than that, my skin is still okay and no abnormal moodiness."

For Birth Control "I have tried other pills and had crazy mood swings and breakthrough bleeding. I have been taking Cyred for over 1 year now, and I have not had the mood swings. I only had breakthrough bleeding when I was on antibiotics, so I would just be careful when on antibiotics. I have not had an issue with acne either, and I have oily/combination skin and work as a fry cook and deli clerk. This has been the BEST pill for me so far! Mostly because I don't get crazy mood swings on it, and I am a very emotional person to start with... I also haven't gotten pregnant on it. I have always struggled with anxiety and depression but won't take any traditional medicine for it. The pill does not seem to make any significant impact on my emotions. I only get super emotional when I am on the week I get my period. I take natural supplements for anxiety/depression if I am having a bad day, but the pill itself has not made my condition any worse."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Cyred birth control for a little over a month, and the largest side effect for me is acne. I usually never get acne, but now I do. Occasional mood swings and depression, but that might be just me. I take it at night, so I don’t feel nauseous during the day. I was only nauseous for the first week or two. I haven’t had any other side effects with it."

For Birth Control "I have been using this birth control for about a year now. From the very beginning, I would have the worst mood swings. At first, I thought it was just my body getting used to the pill, and then after a few months, I thought maybe it was just me. But here we are, a year later, I get constant acne in places I never had before. I am a college track athlete, so I run and work out every single day, and I have gained 16 pounds since last year. I get horrible anxiety, mood swings, and cry almost every day over small things."
