For Birth Control "I started taking this pill about a year ago, and it's been complete hell since I started. The first week and a half, I'm unbearably nauseous and hardly have an appetite. At first, I thought these symptoms would subside, but they never did. The next week and a half, I'm cursed with almost extreme PMS symptoms: ridiculous bloating, awful acne, breast pain; you name it. My periods last an entire week, and I get debilitating cramps, so bad that they make me sick the first few days. I tried to wait it out the year, but it's only gotten worse. This birth control has given me the worst anxiety, migraines, heart palpitations, and I'm dizzy constantly. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, not even my worst enemies. Please be cautious when using this."

For Birth Control "HOLY ANXIETY AND MOOD SWINGS. I am on my 2nd pack and taking these pills has been something I didn't expect. The first two weeks are so awful for me. I know they say it takes 3 months for the body to adjust, but I honestly don’t know if I can make it that long on these. They make me feel like I am going crazy. I freak out about anything and everything now. Sometimes, I get really, really sad. Other times, I’m angry for no real reason. (This side effect only happened a couple of times, so it wasn’t that bad and hasn’t really come back.) I did not get the sore or tender breasts or headaches they report, so that is nice. I more so have nausea and the mood swings. The nausea didn’t seem too, too bad this time, but the mood swings are still very real and the worst thing about this. I wake up anxious, or one minute I’m happy, the next I’m anxious or sad and wanting to do nothing."

For Birth Control "The initial first couple of months weren't pleasant - it worsened my anxiety, I completely lost my sex drive, and I was breaking out like crazy. Being at college out of state, I didn't have time to switch, so I stayed on it. I've been on it for a full 3 months now and all my symptoms disappeared. I guess it just took that long for my body to get used to it because now my anxiety is back to normal, my sex drive is back, and my skin is clear. This medication must just take time."

For Birth Control "I have been on it for over a month, and the only side effects I have had are that my breasts were sore for a week or two, but it went away. I got very anxious more than usual, lost my sex drive, and won't have sex unless he is basically begging for it. I was very irritable. But it also helped a lot with my acne, and I'm not pregnant, so it does the job, I guess."

For Birth Control "This is the worst birth control pill. I really recommend not even trying it. The first week was okay, no side effects, but after the second week, I got the worst anxiety, and I’ve never had anxiety in my life. I was worried I was gonna die with any little thing. I kept going to the doctor, thinking I had a blood clot and chest pain, when I later realized that it was the pill giving me so much anxiety. I stopped taking it, and after 3 months, I’m barely getting back to normal. I really don’t recommend it to anyone, I would rather be pregnant than ever take this birth control again."

For Birth Control "This pill is great for preventing pregnancy, but not so great on your body. I’ve been taking this pill for about 2 months, and I’ve experienced, in my first month, such awful sadness, depression, and anxiety. I would have panic attacks at times I never would before because it all came to much to handle, but after a month, they died down, and that wasn’t a problem anymore. But now I am about to start my 3rd pack, and I’m honestly about to just get condoms and wait to get a new prescription, 'cause I’ve had my period like 3 times this month. And yeah, I know you’re thinking, 'Oh, you could just be pregnant.' Well, I’ve been to doctors and taken tests, and no!!! Just this BC!!! May be the one for y'all, but the worst kind I’ve ever tried for me!"

For Birth Control "Been on this birth control for about a year and a half and never really had any notable side effects until about 4 months ago when I started to notice something was different. My acne came back and was worse than it was before I even started the medication, I’m always stressed and have the worst anxiety, constant migraines, mood swings, complete loss of sex drive, depression, bloating and cramping, loss of motivation, you name it, I’ve gotten it as a side effect. More recently (these past couple of weeks), I’ve been constantly nauseous and have been throwing up almost nonstop. It’s been so bad I’ve had to call out of work. I do not recommend this birth control. DON'T TAKE THIS."

For Birth Control "This birth control ruined my life. I developed extreme anxiety that went away after stopping it. I would break out in pimples that looked like hives under my eyes, got worse every month. I gained a dramatic amount of weight. Stay far away. It’s a generic brand, and according to a doctor I spoke with, it has inactive ingredients that cause all the side effects. Apri is the only one that works for me."

For Birth Control "I started this birth control four weeks ago. Two or three days after being on it, I started to feel weird, blurry and sensitive vision, felt dizzy every day, and worst of all, anxiety. My anxiety increased every day being on it. I have never had an anxiety problem, but with this pill, I was always on edge, intrusive thoughts 24/7, scared of everything, never wanting to leave my house. I had eight panic attacks in the span of two weeks and no exaggeration, these panic attacks were real and scary. I thought, “Oh, my body is just getting used to the changes, I’ll be okay.” But I couldn’t push through, it’s not worth it. I would rather get pregnant than feel the way I did. Everyone’s different and won’t have the same experience, but if you do, just know you are not alone, the mental and physical exhaustion. I finally stopped taking it three days ago, and I can tell you today I feel like myself again. My anxiety has magically disappeared like nothing, and I’m starting to feel healthier."

For Birth Control "The Cyred pill heightened my depression and anxiety. I've been on it for six months now. I was fine the first few months, but once I got to my fourth month using it, things got worse. It's a normal thing for me to cry myself to sleep now, and I am always so anxious. I know I'm not an angry person, but this pill has definitely made me one. Also, I never used to get cramps during my period, but now I do. It made me break out like crazy, but it's starting to clear up. The only thing I can't complain about is the fact that my periods are very regular now. Cyred was not good for me, so I have switched."

For Birth Control "I switched to Cyred after my last cycle. I’m almost done with the package, and my skin has broken out. I personally usually have very clear skin. I started getting nauseous in the second week, but it has gotten a bit better. I get anxiety every now and then and have several mood swings. Even though I have migraines, I haven't experienced headaches. Overall, it’s affecting my mood and skin in a bad way, so I don't think I’ll even open my next pack that I got. It also makes my stomach hurt really bad at times."

For Birth Control "I have been using this birth control for about a year now. From the very beginning, I would have the worst mood swings. At first, I thought it was just my body getting used to the pill, and then after a few months, I thought maybe it was just me. But here we are, a year later, I get constant acne in places I never had before. I am a college track athlete, so I run and work out every single day, and I have gained 16 pounds since last year. I get horrible anxiety, mood swings, and cry almost every day over small things."
