"I must be one of the rare ones. This medication was to be a resolution to constant pain from a pulled muscle in my face and neck after oral surgery. I was instructed to take a 1-5 MG tablet twice daily for 1 month. I take it 2 hours before bed, and by bedtime, I'm so wired and jittery, I have to stay up to avoid keeping my spouse up. I also have restless leg syndrome, spells were rare until this. After taking 1 tablet, I will spend the next 4 to 6 hours pacing, as it seems to cause prolonged restless leg syndrome spells. The feeling seems to affect my arms as well, so I have this need to shake my hands/arms violently. Now, completely exhausted, I have to fight through the pain in my face still to sleep. I no longer take it."

Cyclobenzaprine "I was taking Flexeril for muscle spasms in my back. It would relieve the pain a little bit, but when I did my exercises and took Flexeril, it helped. For severe pain, I had to take Percocet. The two worked well together."

Cyclobenzaprine "Amrix is the best. I have taken many muscle relaxers over the years, and they all make me sleepy, which I despise. I take Amrix after dinner, and I sleep comfortably and wake refreshed and able to make it through the day with only Aleve or ibuprofen. I am so grateful for Amrix."

Cyclobenzaprine "Taking Lasix, I get a lot of muscle spasms in my rib cage as a side effect, so my doctor gave me cyclobenzaprine HCl 10 mg to take every 8 hrs, and other than a side effect of diarrhea, this medicine has been a wonder drug for me."

Cyclobenzaprine "I had a cervical dissection and had C5, 6 and C5, 7 removed and replaced with bone and other material, titanium bar over the vertebrae and 6 screws, ground out all the calcium and bone spurs from arthritis. I wanted something I can work on weaker than Soma. My doctor prescribed 30 mg. For 14 days, I've taken 5, I haven't felt I need to take any more. It's really helped reduce my muscle spasms. I used my insurance and coupon to get the medication."

Cyclobenzaprine "This was prescribed for lower back pain. I was to take 1 before bed to help me sleep. Unfortunately, my body often reacts opposite to what is expected. It gave me insomnia. My brain refused to shut off while taking it. The doctor switched me to Soma, which works well for me."

"Currently prescribed cyclobenzaprine and ibuprofen for lower back muscle spasms. Ibuprofen during the day and cyclobenzaprine at night. I was heavily cautioned about the cyclobenzaprine and to not make any plans after taking it. Hasn’t done a thing. I am told it doesn’t work on everyone. I have taken it after getting home from work just to see if I am missing something while sleeping. Nada, no relief, no drowsiness, no relaxation of any muscles."

"Perfect for severe upper back muscle pain and spasms. I could barely stand by the end of a typical workday. Flexeril has made it possible to work and be more comfortable and able to enjoy life. The only side effects I've noticed are slight irritability, dry mouth, and drowsiness when taken in a large dose or at the end of the day. Dosage is 10 mg three times daily. Usually one on my first work break, then two on my last break. Typically takes 1.5 to 2 hours to kick in, so the timing is perfect. Able to enjoy life again, besides being stuck in bed all the time."

Cyclobenzaprine "This drug is OK for short term, but long term after second car accident, severe stomach pain. I would take it, and stomach would start making noise. Horrible nausea followed, researched, and found it is the cheapest muscle relaxers. In my opinion, there is bad stuff in those things, currently taking Soma and no side effects even when taken for the same time frame: taken longer too."

"I fell and got severe whiplash, which went undiagnosed and thus untreated for 6 months. I now am undergoing treatment to break down the scar tissue that has accumulated (yes, it's as painful as it sounds!), and I'm constantly in pain due to both the tension in my muscles and the breaking down of scar tissue. The doctor prescribed me 10 mg twice a day, and my pain is completely gone. Yes, I'm a little drowsy, but it's a small price to pay for relief, in my opinion."

Cyclobenzaprine "This medicine has been a blessing for me after trying chiropractic, physical therapy, injections, etc. I suffer from fibromyalgia, scoliosis, and a bulging neck disc. I sometimes get tired, but after 61 years of being very active and hard work (I mean hard), naps are expected. Sometimes all of us need to slow down."

"This drug is horrible. My doctor recommended I take one 5 mg tablet for 7 days before bedtime for neck and trapezius muscle pain. I feel a loss of balance. I feel like I'm going to pass out. At the time of writing this, it is 18 hours after I took this drug. I can't function at all. I can't work because I feel like the room is spinning, and I'm also getting these severe headaches that come off and on during the day. I will not be taking this anymore. I'll stick to my ibuprofen and moderate exercise for my neck and trapezius muscle pain. And PS, if you're a coffee drinker or like your sodas, those will enhance all these effects even worse. I recommend not having caffeine at all!"

"I find that this drug has very mild muscle relaxant properties. It helps a bit, but not much for my sciatic pain caused by piriformis syndrome. The problem with this drug is that I am super groggy and tired the next day, and therefore must take a long nap and/or force myself to function the next day. This medication puts a big damper on my daily productivity, while the actual pain relief results are minimal. Take with caution or avoid it."

"Dr. prescribed 5 mg of Flexeril for my TMJ, and it worked wonders for me. It completely took the pain away, and I was not drowsy, sleepy, or anything like that. I don't think I've ever taken something that has actually worked for what it was prescribed for. AMEN!"

"After a total knee replacement, I suffered severe muscle spasms for six weeks. My surgeon recommended cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride 10 mg. Within 24 hours, my spasms were totally gone. I took the recommended dosage for five days. No side effects to speak of, however, I was finally able to sleep longer than an hour or two. I recommend this drug."

Cyclobenzaprine "I have had Flexeril prescribed to me multiple times throughout the years for severe muscle tension and spasms. I don’t understand why doctors are so hung up on prescribing a medication that doesn’t work. Regardless of the dosage, my muscles continue to spasm and the tension never lessens. I have begged for something different with no luck. Now I just refuse the Flexeril scripts and deal with the pain. There’s no point in paying for and ingesting a medication that doesn’t work for you..."

"My experience with this medication is not great. I'm not typically a 'drug sensitive' person. I was prescribed 10 mg of this three times daily (yeah right!) for lower back spasms. I'd rather have the spasms. I took one 10 mg pill and started nodding off and drooling on myself about an hour after taking it. Then, I was out cold. The next day, I felt wasted and hungover. This was like 16 hours later. Sure, my pain was gone, but it took me about 48 hours to be able to function normally again after taking this pill. No thanks."

Cyclobenzaprine "All I can say is: WOW! Amrix works! I have tried every muscle relaxant under the sun, including Valium, the gold standard of hospitals. Nothing seemed to help. I have moderate to severe muscle spasticity and rigidity. I was in agony before Amrix and noticed a difference on the VERY FIRST DAY! Since I have tried all the alternatives my insurance company had suggested, I was able to get this pre-authorized and covered. If you suffer from muscle pain, spasm, rigidity, and trigger points, this is a MUST try."

"My favorite medicine. I have tried other pain relievers, including Vicodin, but nothing takes the pain away more than Flexeril. I have never had any serious side effects for me, and I have even been able to take it while at work to improve my performance when my back would flare up. The best time to take it is right before bed because it puts me right to sleep when I need to, and I wake up feeling no pain at all."

"Waste of time. These dumb doctors don't know what they're giving to people. It severely messes with your brain chemistry and makes you feel empty and borderline suicidal for real. They figure if you do this to your brain, then your muscle spasms will subside. But the side effects ARE the main effect. Depression unlike you've ever had, lasting for a long, long time. The effect that was intended was so eclipsed by the depression it wasn't even worth it. Not a safe alternative to traditional meds like Valium and opiates, which actually WORK. I wish they would stop treating us like children and give us the good stuff, for Christ's sake. Cyclo, along with all these other antidepressants they hand out to deal with a variety of ailments, is very irresponsible. Don't mess with them. And before you take them, ask the doctor that prescribes them if they have ever tried Cyclo. Chances are not, those nerds just read some stupid studies that said they work for muscle relief, which they do not even do that!"

"I got in a rear-end collision and got severe whiplash and muscle spasms in my back. I was prescribed this, and it worked wonderfully. When I didn't take it, I couldn't move without pain and suffering. I absolutely loved this because it actually works. Sure, it makes you drowsy, so what a small price to pay for the outcome."

Cyclobenzaprine "Flexeril should be taken with caution. LOL. It does do the job of relaxing your body into a jelly-like state, but I was sent home from work after taking it and being unable to function. I just needed to sleep. I think it was 5-10mg. My back pain did decrease though, and I got some solid sleep which helped my body to heal."

"I was prescribed the 10 mg tablet and made me completely useless. I was so groggy and sleepy all I wanted to do was sleep. I had my Dr. reduce to 5 mg. Still groggy, sleepy. I took one last night because my neck was stiff and my back hurting, and I hadn't taken one in a while. I slept OK, but had difficulty getting up. Once the initial rush of work was over at 10, all I wanted to do was sleep. I went online to see if there were similar experiences, and it appears that in general, this is what to expect from this narcotic. Mild headaches accompany the sleepiness and lack of focus. So does dry mouth. Now I'm just waiting for it to wear off so I can be back to normal..."

Cyclobenzaprine "Amrix is the first muscle relaxer that has worked for me. I have multiple situations, my main complaint is a cramp that goes from my upper neck and right shoulder all the way down below the small of my back, just to the right of my spine. Amrix helps me tremendously. I am so grateful for this medicine."

Cyclobenzaprine "I had some very tight, non-spasming muscles in my back. Acute myofasciitis or something like that. For some reason, my doctor prescribed Flexeril, Vicodin 5/500, and 800 mg Ibuprofen. I didn't like the idea of taking Ibuprofen with acetaminophen, so I just used the Flexeril and Vicodin. It worked very well, but I couldn't do anything but turn into a pile on the couch when taking both."
