Ciprofloxacin for Bladder Infection "It's been three days since I've been on this medicine. First-time user also. I never had a bladder infection, but it got a lot better than it was the first day with the burning and pain. I am still experiencing a bit of the burning. I am hoping it works and takes it fully away about the time it's my last dose. At first, this medicine made me nauseous and tired, but I drank more water, and it seemed to help take that away."

Ciprofloxacin for Urinary Tract Infection "I found out I had a UTI a week after I had my annual physical examination. I did not get my prescription until a week later, so I would assume I had the UTI for two weeks to a month. Doc prescribed me to take two 500 mg daily. The side effects suck. Night one, I did not sleep. I took a 3-hour nap and was up for 16 hours. Day two's morning dose had me nauseous. I just took my night dose, so hopefully the side effects won't be bad. My UTI symptoms went away within my first dosage (slight pressure, cloudy urine, sensitivity)."

For Kidney Infections "I have had as many as 12 kidney infections a year since I was 19. I am now 51. I also have a history of creating kidney stones. I have been on many antibiotics over the years. I have had serious allergies to other antibiotics, i.e., stop breathing, rashes, becoming allergic to them after taking them for extended use. Cipro has been a blessing. I have not had a kidney infection in over 2 years. So clearly whatever infection was able to hide prior to Cipro is now gone. Yes, there can be a bit of nausea, however, if I drink water, eat a bit first, then take this antibiotic and continue to finish my meal, there is little to no nausea. I have read the reviews and the warnings that come with Cipro. I don't go in the sun, hiking, or biking."

Ciprofloxacin for Urinary Tract Infection "I was given the pill 2 times per day at 500 mg. I am in my early 30s and feeling still overall blah on the 4th day of the meds. Feeling numb on my feet and nausea after taking the pill. I am on no other medications. Normally I rarely remember my dreams, but the last two nights I have had horrible nightmares."

Ciprofloxacin for Urinary Tract Infection "I've taken Cipro before for urinary tract infections, but my body reacted badly this time. I had nausea, upset stomach, headaches, and caused vomiting. It did help with relieving urinary tract infection symptoms after 2 days. I finished my entire prescription, and I still have some side effects."

Ciprofloxacin for Urinary Tract Infection "I was prescribed this medication for twice a day for 10 days, and on day 5, I had a tremor in my right hand, and right after, my right arm and leg went numb. It was horrifying to experience, especially because I am currently under getting a diagnosis if there is something wrong with my heart. So I didn't know if it was the pills or my heart until I started doing more research on the pill, and tremors were a serious side effect. Yes, I feel my UTI has gone away, but I would NOT take it again, and I am still currently taking them, but I'm going to talk with my doctor because I no longer want to use these drugs. Besides the tremor and numbness, I also became very tired, had headaches, muscle pains, and nausea. Truly terrible to feel this way. I do not recommend."

For Urinary Tract Infection "I was terrified to take Cipro (ciprofloxacin) because of the reviews. I was prescribed Cipro for a bad UTI that relapsed after amoxicillin didn't clear it up. Within 1 day, there was no more blood in my urine. Within 3 days, all burning stopped and my urine wasn't cloudy anymore. I was on Cipro for a full week. I did have some side effects, but nothing debilitating. I had some nausea, heartburn, fatigue, mild abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea. I'm thankful for this antibiotic! A urine test verified that it completely cleared my UTI. Don't be afraid to take Cipro. If you experience bad side effects, just tell your doctor and take it from there. But from what I've been told by a couple of pharmacists, really bad side effects from Cipro are rare. I've been on amoxicillin, clindamycin, and Cipro, and they have all had the same side effects for me. And those side effects were manageable."

For Urinary Tract Infection "Honestly, this antibiotic isn't bad at all. I understand that some people react to drugs differently, but if you ignored your symptoms long enough for your tendons to randomly tear, you're just dumb. Talk to your doctor if things don't feel right. I came on here when I was prescribed Cipro and was TERRIFIED of the reviews. I have had no symptoms taking this for a week, and I took it with lots of food and water and stayed hydrated. This antibiotic got rid of my UTI and sinus infection in a day. If you aren't healthy, are taking other medications, smoke, have preexisting conditions, or can't handle feeling slightly nauseous from medicine, then yeah, don't take it. Otherwise, it did wonders for me."

For Kidney Infections "Was prescribed this medication along with Augmentin and Paracetamol following the diagnosis of an advanced kidney infection. Four days later and I feel a little better in terms of the infection, but the side effects have been awful. Constant feelings of extreme fatigue and weakness. Low energy levels; feels like the wind has been knocked out of me. Feelings of nausea and stomach ache for up to two hours after taking it! I have taken this medicine exactly as instructed by my local pharmacist. Guess it just doesn't agree with me."

Ciprofloxacin for Urinary Tract Infection "Dr. prescribed 500 mg twice a day for 5 days. The UTI was horrible, but I’ve never experienced such horrible side effects from an antibiotic. Nausea was debilitating, I was fighting to keep from vomiting. Couldn’t drive because it had my head swirling. Headaches too! I stuck with it because the UTI scared me, but after just taking the last dose, I’m still certain my UTI is lingering. Maybe I’m imagining this, but my thinking and moods seem to have been dark. I regret taking this drug."

For Urinary Tract Infection "I took ciprofloxacin 500 milligrams 2 times a day, and after 24 hours from starting this, I started feeling sick again and worse now after 3 days with aching muscles, dizziness, pain in urination, fever, nausea, and headache. But the doctor won't prescribe anything else for me until it is finished after 5 days, so I'm going to go into the emergency or medical center."

For Bladder Infection "I've been on ciprofloxacin for 3 days now for a urinary tract infection, and I don't know what's worse... the pain from the actual infection or the horrible feeling this medication has given me. Every time I take it, it gives me a headache, I feel drained and dizzy, and it gives me this restless anxiety attack feeling. I hope that at the end of my 7-day cycle it will be worth it, but so far I feel worse than better."

For Diverticulitis "I’ve taken Cipro a few times, mostly for diverticulitis. Never had any major issues as long as I took probiotics religiously, as well as lots of yogurt and soft meals. Kind of comes with the territory having a terrible diverticulitis flare, which landed me in the hospital. Four days of IV antibiotics (Zosyn) and home with oral antibiotics of Cipro and Flagyl. After a few days, there is some slight nausea, but nothing terrible and quite manageable with ginger tea and rest."

For Urinary Tract Infection "The medication works well for clearing up a UTI. However, it makes me very, very nauseous. I have certain bouts during the day that I feel like I'm going to vomit. Drinking lots of fluids helps with the nausea, but it's pretty miserable. I would prefer the nausea over a UTI, though."

For Urinary Tract Infection "28, male: was given doxycycline first, couldn't use it longer than 3 days, extreme nausea, dry vomiting, heart palpitations, random trouble breathing. Infection came back, was given cipro, easy drug to take, but on and off was having burning pain in my ankles. This drug eats the cartilage around the Achilles tendon. Day 5, had to go to ER, can't walk anymore, intense burning in my ankles and complete weakness. I'm praying to God I'll recover. I don't even know if my infection will be gone after 5 days of use. Pray for me, I might have to file for disability."

For Bladder Infection "My 3rd day on Cipro without hardly any effect. I'm in pain 24/7 like a period. Ready to consult a doctor again. I was in the ER on the 6th of May. Still lots of pain. Plus I have stomach issues. No appetite. My entire abdominal area hurts. Nausea."

For Bladder Infection "I'm usually not one to leave a review on a medication, especially since everyone's body may react differently. However, I needed to share my reaction to this medication, ciprofloxacin. I thought that maybe I had come down with the flu. My body is hurting so badly I can barely move. Every joint hurts (including my fingers), and muscles feel like they are on fire while something is stabbing them. I have had chills but no fever, nausea, and vomiting. My back hurts, and my chest is tight as well. I have almost doubled my water intake, so I don't believe it's lack of fluids. I would advise if you are having these side effects to please stop and contact your doctor. I don't think I have ever felt this bad. But again, not everyone is the same."

For Urinary Tract Infection "I was prescribed cipro by my urologist after getting repeated UTIs every year (a lot, over 5 a year, and they are incredibly debilitating and painful). Cipro works immediately, either the same day if you take it in the morning or the day after if you take it at night. Take it with food and water and take AZO for pain relief, and you should be good. The only side effect I have is nausea, but it's not too bad. I recommend cipro for those with repeated UTIs."

For Urinary Tract Infection "Test came back, had a UTI. Had one a month ago, so the doctor thought it would be a good idea to put me on something else. Something stronger. It has been day two on Cipro, and I went from feeling fine to feeling like I have the flu. Lots of muscle aches, lots of dizziness, lots of nausea. I never read side effect labels on meds. So I look up Cipro online, and lawd, this medication has a black box warning?! WTF?! I called my doctor and told him this ain't going to cut it. Would very much like to get rid of an infection without having muscular, nerve, and who-knows-what-else for the rest of my life! Watch what you're putting in your bodies, folks."

For Urinary Tract Infection "Okay, so I’ve used this garbage a couple of times now because the doctors in my area have abandoned all other forms of antibiotics. So, second time using it to treat a UTI, and this drug is so awful to me! First night, not even 12 hours after taking it, I had a severe headache! The worst I’ve ever had in my life. Can’t take aspirin or ibuprofen with this garbage because it could react to it. Went home, went to sleep, next day sick! Nauseous, hot dry skin, face and neck hurt/burned. Took more of the junk, just continued feeling sick. Today woke up still feeling like garbage, and it started affecting my sleep. I took more of it, this is what I experienced at work: extremely hot neck and face, extremely cold hands. Hot all day, sudden anxiety attack, chest tightening, couldn’t breathe, my whole body was numb, came home, face and neck still burning/itching/hot. Arm hurts, hands tingly, hand tendon hurts. I will never take this medicine again."

For Diverticulitis "Took this for two days, and the nausea started. Then all at once, BAM, uncontrollable vomiting followed by uncontrollable diarrhea. To the point where I was home alone and had to call 911, as I was going in and out of consciousness. Paramedics arrived, and I couldn't stop the vomiting and pooping. All the way to the hospital. While in the ER, the diarrhea was so bad and uncontrollable to the point that the floor was pooled with this mess. I was sent home with a diaper and a different medication I refused to take. Got better a week later with nothing, but now, 8 months later, the diverticulitis is back."

For Bacterial Infection "I was prescribed Cipro to treat bacterial overgrowth syndrome in my intestines. The first time I took it, it worked wonders! It without a doubt changed my life. Apparently, bacterial overgrowth is recurring, so I'm on my second round of it now - 2 pills, twice daily, for 14 days - and am experiencing much worse side effects than the first time around. The nausea/dizziness/upset stomach passes after about an hour, though, so I don't mind putting up with it to get the desired results, because it really does work phenomenally well for me!"

Ciprofloxacin for Urinary Tract Infection "I went to the doctor with a UTI. I got prescribed the generic for Cipro 500 mg. The first pill, I felt fine, the second pill, I started to feel a tingling sensation on my forearm and pain in my wrists. The third pill, my arms hurt from the shoulders to the palms of my hands, my arms had gotten swollen, and I couldn't even stand my watch. I couldn't sleep at night due to the pain in my arms, which I thought was not normal. The next morning, before my next pill, I decided to read the side effects of this medication, and it said that in some cases, it could cause swelling, vomiting, nausea, and arm pain. At that moment, I stopped taking the medication and went back to my doctor and complained. I made them write this medication under my allergies so this doesn't happen again."

For Diverticulitis "This drug is not a joke. I foolishly did not read the patient information before taking these pills. Read the patient information before you take this. This drug should come with a warning, and it should be illegal to dispense it without a huge warning. After 3 days, I had such severe panic attacks I thought I was going to die. Insomnia and the worst panic attacks I have ever felt in my 52 years of living. Then came the nausea, vomiting, retching with an empty stomach, and more abdominal pain, which I already had when I started this. My feet were on fire, and I had shooting pains in my legs and horrible muscle pain. I could not drive, I could not focus, I could not remember anything from one minute to the next. I have been 'floxied,' and from what I read, that is very serious. I feel it will take months for me to repair the damage done to my body after 3 days of this drug. It was not worth the risk, and I completely regret it."
