"I was given Cipro 500 mg 2 x a day and metronidazole 500 mg x 3 a day. Let me just say this is awful. I lowered my dosage to try and figure out which antibiotic it was that was making me feel this way. My back hurts, I feel flushed and hot, have anxiety, and my fingers and toes are going numb. It’s a weird, uncomfortable feeling, and I’ll never take another. Thank goodness I’m going back to the doctor tomorrow. Doctors listen to your patients. I don't know if I’ve ever taken it prior to this time, but never again!!!"

"Was prescribed Cipro 2x/day with Flagyl 3x/day, and they seemed to work, although not as quickly as other reviewers. Not sure if it was the Cipro alone or the combination, but nausea was the main symptom. I would be fine for a few hours after the Flagyl, but within an hour of taking the Cipro, I would have to lay down due to nausea and exhaustion. Still taking it and counting the days. Hopefully, will not have an occasion to use this again."

"I was on Cipro for my first diverticulitis episode and had no clue why I felt so poorly. I am now on my second flare-up and again on Cipro 2x a day, and after five days, I finally decided I had had enough. My skin feels like it is on fire, I cannot sleep at all, I am nauseated, and my muscles hurt in my arms, legs, and neck. I am also experiencing confusion and fatigue. If I had paid more attention to the drug information, I would never have taken this again. My diverticulitis pain is better, but this is not worth it!"

"Given Cipro and Flagyl for diverticulitis flare-ups. Always works, i.e., prevents further progression or perforation but screws with your system. Leaves me flu-like with bad diarrhea and totally incontinent, in diapers for usually a week."

"I tolerate cipro a lot better than I did the Flagyl. I have taken both together at the same time, and that was awful, horrible taste, made me severely nauseous. I would have to take it early in the morning and go back to bed for at least an hour or so. I am starting to think I might need surgery to fix what's happening. I just finished one course of antibiotics, and 3 weeks later I'm having another flare-up. I am getting really tired of this cycle."

"It made me feel terrible. I only took one pill and I would not take any more. I was prescribed Metronidazole and Ciprofloxacin for diverticulitis. I am taking the Metronidazole now."

"I was on a low dose of Cipro 500 mg for diverticulitis. Right away, the joints in my hands started hurting. I could hardly pick up a bottle of water. Then, a week later, I had an appointment for my collagenous colitis with my gastroenterologist. I mentioned that I’d had a flare-up of the diverticulitis. He then gave me 1500 mg of Cipro and 1000 mg of Flagyl. Within two days, I had a terrible flare-up of arthritis. I have never been arthritic in my life. I had arthritis in almost every joint. Once I went off the Cipro and went on a steroid, then the pain was relieved. I walked with a limp for two weeks after this episode. I now have arthritis in my shoulders, hands, and knees (which I get huge cortisone shots for because I can barely walk!) I’d like to sue them for this. It’s horrible!"
