Carisoprodol for Muscle Spasm "This is the best muscle relaxer I have taken. I have a hairline fracture at the top of my tibia. This released my knee overnight. It was locked! I take Klonopin, so the sedation dizzy feeling was mild. However, I didn't mix, I skipped Soma if anxiety was present."

For Muscle Spasm "I have severe TMJ dysfunction along with a long list of other painful medical conditions, and I've tried almost every muscle relaxer out there (Zanaflex, Flexeril, Norflex, Skelaxin, Robaxin, etc.), and nothing comes close to the relief I get from Soma. I also take a long-acting painkiller with the Soma three times a day, and it's really improved my quality of life. The only downside is sometimes it makes me quite drowsy/dizzy, so I never take it before I have to drive somewhere. However, I'd much rather be a little loopy on my couch than be in excruciating pain 24/7!"

Carisoprodol for Muscle Spasm "Suffer back pain and sciatica from pinched nerve caused by herniated lumbar discs. Prescribed Soma by new orthopedic doctor for pain. Does not work any better for my pain than ibuprofen and comes with a multitude of side effects. I am discontinuing use after one week due to headache, dizziness, nausea, and insomnia. I don't know if my emotional reaction is due to the drug or the three months of chronic pain and recent lack of sleep, but it is making me irritable and angry."

For Muscle Spasm "I have herniated disks L5 and between C3 and C4. I got a prescription for carisoprodol and painkillers. Kept the carisoprodol for a while because I didn't use it. Had a recent spasm in my neck and used two 10 mg pills over one day. I was able to really see the effects of just these two pills because I was taking no other drugs at this time. Effects: The next day, muscle spasm has subsided significantly. Didn't take more. Side effects: lethargy. Took an hour nap and it wasn't enough. I never nap. Went to bed early, got up late. Breathing was labored upon waking. Slight headache in the morning, a bit drowsy, slightly dizzy, and unenthusiastic about life."

Carisoprodol for Muscle Spasm "This medication is incredibly addictive and VERY easy to build up tolerance. It was very helpful when I was laid out, could not move due to back spasm and in incredible pain. It allowed me to move slowly and gently, perform gentle stretches and easy movements for healing. However, with enough dosage, it also comes with an incredibly relaxed feeling, as if all worries are gone and life is a beautiful, often funny experience, full of love. This feeling takes a higher and higher dose to achieve. And comes with side effects like dizziness, sleepiness, lack of motor control. Side effects increase in intensity with increasing dosage to the point of total inability to move limbs and dropping into unconsciousness. I used it occasionally, which increased to weekly for a time. Very addictive, rapid build-up of tolerance (from 1/2 pill to 4 for the same medical effect)."

Carisoprodol for Muscle Spasm "Does absolutely nothing for me except make me a little dizzy. I'm in more pain now than before I started taking it. Absolutely the most useless prescription I've ever had."

Carisoprodol "I agree wholeheartedly with a majority of comments re: Soma! After double spinal fusion & laminectomy, I had arthritis set in and nothing was helpful. I tried other medications (listed here as well) all with terrible side effects: dizziness, ineffective, etc. Soma has been prescribed to me for 12 years. It is extremely effective in relieving the pain associated with arthritis, stiffness, etc. 99% of the time I take 1/day at bedtime. Unless my back goes out & I experience spasms. On these rare occasions, I follow the dosage of 1 tablet every 8 hours. I have NEVER had an addictive problem and I’m 15 years sober in AA!!! Thank goodness for Soma & the relief it provides without side effects."
