Carisoprodol "Soma works the BEST out of any muscle relaxants I have been prescribed, but all of a sudden all the doctors no longer write a prescription for it. They try to give all the things I've tried before and it didn't work. Guess someone came down real hard on the doctors. They seem AFRAID to write you a script for SOMA anymore."

Carisoprodol "After being diagnosed with Lyme disease in 1999, one of the worst symptoms was severe joint pain and muscle spasms in my legs and back. Thankfully, my doctor understood that immediate relief was needed and combined my Norco (taken for joint pain) with Soma. This was a godsend."

Carisoprodol "I have been on narcotics and different types of muscle relaxers for over two years now for chronic back pain. I just started taking Soma as a last resort, and wow, am I glad I decided to give it a shot. To date, I have more relief from the Soma than from the previous narcotics that I was taking. It's amazing, and I am thankful."

Carisoprodol "I was on Soma for over 10 years without side effects for my arachnoiditis, which is a pain disorder caused by the inflammation of the membranes that surround and protect the nerves of the spinal cord. When I turned 65, the government just cut me off of it. Since then, I've been trying to find a doctor to prescribe it for me when the opioid crisis occurred. I've never misused my Soma either, but I'm being punished... I'm talking about being tortured at times because of the indiscriminate use of that medication. I can understand people being upset that their loved ones died as a result of abuse and addiction caused by licensed health practitioners. I don't understand why Soma (which it's not an opioid) cannot be dispensed in a controlled manner if it's so dangerous. People with addiction can go places with documentation to prove that they need a certain medication to help them. After receiving a medication for years, experiencing a pain-free life, then having that medication taken away, which resulted in the return of chronic pain, is that called an addiction? I've tried all those other muscle relaxers. No help, some with side effects."

Carisoprodol "I was put on Soma six years ago along with my pain medicines. I swear by it. I have been on the same dose of Soma and pain medicines for 6 years. Because of Soma, I have not had to alter my dose and have been able to work and function, and it was good. Till my doctor took everyone off it. I am now miserable and in pain. It is great, and it works."

Carisoprodol "I have used Soma for a few months now as needed for muscular back pain and back spasms. I've tried other muscle relaxers, but this is by far the best I've tried. I can't tell you how much this helps when my back starts acting up. And there's just enough drowsiness to let you sleep pain-free, yet not too much if it's in the middle of the day. I highly recommend it."

Carisoprodol "Works better than OxyContin. I have chronic chest pain from pleurisy, and this medicine allows me to be pain-free most of the time. Recently, I ran out for 3 days, and I had terrible withdrawal symptoms. I have been on it for 2 years, and I don't abuse it. I only take 1/2 a pill about 6 or 7 times a day to decrease the sleepiness. It's like all other controlled drugs, it is a double-edged sword, so be careful of withdrawal."

"QUALITEST carisoprodol is the ONLY brand that works for me (TMJ/severe shoulder injury pain), and now, poof! It is off the market. Thanks for buying the one company out who makes a medication that actually works for so many patients in need of it, and then stops making it altogether! So incredibly disappointed in the situation and now I have been stuck in terrible pain with zero relief when I really need it. But still, I am told all the other brands are the same thing. Well, unless you take it, then you don’t really know, do you? Thanks, Endo pharma. For nothing."

"I have been on this drug, commonly called SOMA, for years. I have degenerative disc disease, and it is an amazing relief medication. YES, it does make you feel a little drowsy, so I do not take it during the day, but in the early evening when the pain is terrible, it is a wonderful relief. My insurance does NOT cover it, thus I pay full price... argh, but I am so happy with it that I do not want to change. Is it addictive? I don't care. I also take Valium. I have taken it for 40 years. Addicted? Sure, but I take the same dose, and have for years. Pleased with the results, yes. EVERYTHING has side effects, and we are all going to die of something. I choose to live my life in as much comfort as possible. I also have COPD and osteoporosis. I can work out at my gym several times a week knowing I can always grab a SOMA if necessary."

"I don't know what the hell they did with the carisoprodol brand Dan 5 5 1 2 at Walgreens, but the SG brand of carisoprodol is garbage. I do like Soma for the pain I have: spondylitis, cervical spondylitis, lumbar disc, fibromyalgia."

Carisoprodol "I have chronic back, neck, leg, and coccyx pain. Soma, like any medication or narcotic, works or helps everyone differently. Soma helps to desensitize my pain, helps my cramps, and insomnia. I’ve been clean and sober for 16 years and now a substance abuse counselor. Years ago, I was not prescribed any medication for my mental health disorders and chronic pain, so I got it from friends, family, and the streets. The stigma of my past was a red flag for most doctors to prescribe narcotics even though I was a candidate for them, so I did what I needed to do. I was never trying to get high, just take the pain away and sleep. Twenty years later, after getting clean, doctors started to earn my trust because I was honest, educated, and in legit pain. Soma is the only muscle relaxer that helps, even better than pain meds at times. Take as prescribed and be educated about the risks of dependence and abuse of prescribed meds. Be true to yourself and your doctors. Good luck and God bless all of you who need help."

Carisoprodol "I have body jolts at night so bad I will kick my cat off the bed or fall on the floor. I also have leg cramps so bad that I can't breathe. Soma is the only prescription that stops it. I also have RLS, Soma relieves that also. Every time I moved or lost a doctor, they fight me on prescribing to me, and they try all sorts of drugs that cause terrible side effects with no relief for my condition. My quality of life needs to stop being harassed by new pharmacies that tell me they won't sell it anymore. Soma is the best one for all my conditions with no side effects."

Carisoprodol "I have used Soma off and on for many years, and never have I been addicted to it or had any withdrawal symptoms, even after using it for a year or more. When I felt I no longer needed it, I stopped the medication with no ill effects. It does work well for muscle spasms and aches."

"This is the only muscle relaxer that works for me without causing significant side effects. I’ve been on this for a number of years, and it keeps my pain (scoliosis, hyper-mobile TMD) at a manageable level. To echo some of the other reviews, I find the Teva generic (DAN 5513) much preferable to Aurobindo, Sciegen, or Northstar. Qualitest (2410 V) also used to be decent until they were bought out by Par, which was recently bought by Method. Unfortunately, this med is currently in shortage, so I’ve been in contact with Teva. Last month they said it was no longer on backorder, and in less than a month it went on backorder again. I hope they get it together and bring it back soon."

Carisoprodol "If you are having muscle spasms due to injury, inflammation, or for any other reason, this is the right drug for you. It works. Don't go by what doctors say. Many muscle spasm relaxants won't work for you. This also reduces anxiety. If there is strong pain also, take a combination of ibuprofen and paracetamol along with Soma. It works like magic. The only problem is Soma is addiction and habituation prone, so be careful. Soma also causes a little sedation."

Carisoprodol "It's a wonderful medicine for my spasms. The back spasms do not stop for me unless I use Soma. They are the only muscle relaxers that work for me. I tried 4 or 5 different kinds, and none of those worked for me. I would recommend them."

"I have been taking carisoprodol for 32 years. I tried Flexeril, but I felt like I'd drunk several cups of coffee after I took it. I have had fibromyalgia for 50+ years. I get terrible tension headaches and muscle spasms in the back of my neck. Tried Botox injections with no success. The name brand (Soma) worked for me. My insurance used to cover the name brand and the generic, but Medicare doesn't. I have found some of the generics to be ineffective, particularly one made by Sun Pharma. This drug is a placebo as far as I'm concerned. I find the one marked DAN 5513 (Watson Labs) works well. The one marked 2410 (Vintage Pharmaceuticals) works for me, too. The last refill I got is marked CL 022. That one is barely effective."

Carisoprodol "I have used Soma for 2 years, and it really helps me. I have nothing bad to report about it. I do not feel addicted and only use it as needed, but it certainly relieves my neck and lower back pain to the point where I can at least work. I have no hallucinogenic effects with it and don't feel sleepy with it either. It's just a great drug."

Carisoprodol "This was the absolute best muscle relaxer my doctor has ever given to me. I have a bulging disc in my back and it is in the middle of my back, and sometimes I have excruciating pain associated with this, and Soma really is the best I have found."

Carisoprodol "I have been on Carisoprodol for 20 years, and I have tried a multitude of muscle relaxers. When I got my refill this month, it was a new, odd-looking pill. Another generic? I knew immediately this pill was not right. I am not even sure it is any kind of Carisoprodol. I do know that in the last two weeks, I have suffered extreme leg cramps and even foot cramps. Can you imagine being woke up all night long because your foot has cramped so bad you're afraid to move? I don't know who is responsible for pulling this crap, but this is not Soma or Carisoprodol, and if it is your way of weeding out those who get meds like this for the wrong reason, stop it. I will be contacting my doctor, and I may contact Medicare as well."

"This is a review of ScieGen carisoprodol (SG109). My pharmacy used to have Watson Pharmaceuticals (DAN5513) carisoprodol, which worked great. I don't know why, but ScieGen doesn't work anywhere near as well, and supposedly it is the same mg strength. If your pharmacy pulls this trick, send it back and ask for a refund."

Carisoprodol "I have used Soma (carisoprodol) for 6 years, and it is definitely a great help for my fibromyalgia muscle spasm pain. Also for the muscle spasm pain from degenerative disc disease with a bulging disc in my neck, which is inoperable at this time. Best of all, the muscle relaxers out there, and I have tried almost all of them."

"Morons who come here warning 'Beware or you'll OD if you take with benzos' is why we reliable, zero issue, chronic pain patients can't get our required med dosage! Because you're an irresponsible idiot who keeps taking too many drugs repeatedly and OD'ing, don't give meds a bad rap! Ask someone to please help dispense your meds! I take 3 mg Xanax, 4-30 mg oxycodone split every 4 hrs. & 3 Soma daily. (Was on 4 recommended dose & just cut back, thanks to abusers!) Now suffering through the night, as they last just 3 hours! Prescribed Buspar for sleep, but it doesn't equal 1 extra Soma I had. ONLY muscle relaxer that relieves 6 herniated discs, sciatica, osteoarthritis, and migraines. I've been on meds 30 years with no issues! People like this guy we can thank for harsher guidelines and our never-ending suffering. Unfairly stereotyped due to loser stupidity! So take your warnings elsewhere before you ruin it for the rest of us old folks who just want to sleep and function pain-free until we die!"

Carisoprodol "Soma has been the only spasm medicine that is affordable, improving my quality of life after three back surgeries. Some of the side effects from other medicines, like Flexeril, have left me tired all the time and with a feeling of irritability. But my doctor has recently told me she will soon stop prescribing it. I am looking for affordable alternatives now."
