"Currently on 150 mg. My vision constantly involuntarily blurs, I’m always sweating, my body (especially my hands) tremors, and sometimes I become extremely hyper-aware of everything around me that it begins to feel unreal. Also, I’ve been getting bouts of times where I feel really suicidal. This medication used to work for me, but now? Does nothing positive, except raise my libido."

"I've been taking this medication for under 6 months now, and I have gained 10 lbs while taking this drug. I don't feel like I have increased energy than before, like some other people described. I feel more irritable and anxious at times, still can't sleep at night. I get the dry mouth side effects and occasional constipation. I'm taking 300 mg XL once a day. I am getting more depressed with gaining weight on this drug! I was taking Lexapro before and didn't find it helped me feel less depressed and experienced a lot of nightmares or weird dreams while taking Lexapro!"

"I've been on this for a couple of months now. At first, my heart rate was sky-high no matter what, and I shook a lot. So my heart rate is still high, but not as high. And I still shake, but not as much. It did help me quit smoking and lose weight. I am not sure what the side effects would be of Aplenzin, but I might try that. Keep in mind, I'm on the highest dose with a mood stabilizer, Abilify, and Buspar."

"I’ve probably taken placebo pills that have worked better than Wellbutrin. It does absolutely nothing, and it makes me appreciate the prescription drugs I have taken before that I didn’t think were doing their job. I still have really dark thoughts from time to time, and my depression has been ghastly lately. Hands down, the least effective antidepressant I have ever taken."

"I was taking this for about 6 years. From 13-18. I had a few spotty teen years where I would barely take the meds, and I ended up in the hospital many times. I had a very weird and high sex drive, and right when I got off, it went away. I had intense night terrors and would start yelling in my sleep, I would sweat so much it looked like I wet myself. The nightmares got so vivid and intense I was confusing reality with my dreams, I would constantly have to ask people if something had happened or not. I lost weight when I was taking this regularly. I've been off for almost two years, and all that being said, I think I may start it up again. It was one of the only depression meds that kept my emotions but kept the bad ones away for the most part."

"I have no doubt that this has helped many people... but for me, this was absolute poison. I'd gone off Lexamil and switched to Wellbutrin 300 mg for MDD. My moods are absolutely all over the place. I'll randomly get sad for absolutely no reason, and for a logical person, this gets frustrating. Not to mention the strain that most of my relationships have been under because of my now explosive temper. I don't feel like the person that I know I am."

"I'm on 150 mg Wellbutrin XL, and since I've started taking it, I've noticed my dreams are extremely vivid and disturbing. I'm getting confused easily, major insomnia, which isn't normal for me by any means. Was on Prozac, then Lexapro, switched to Celexa after 3 doses, and now I'm stuck with Wellbutrin. I was told to push through and keep taking it, but all of my experiences with stimulants with an amphetamine base have been unpleasant. I'm probably going to discontinue it, I'd rather be unmedicated than lose days of sleep and have horrible dreams whenever I can sleep. Not a great experience, in my opinion."

"I was diagnosed at age 64 with bipolar after having a severe depression that put me in bed for a year. As a nurse, I thought I knew what depression was. I had no idea. My mainstay meds are lamotrigine for mood stabilization, the lowest dose of lithium, which at that level treats depression, and I was on 150 XL bupropion. My pharmacy was out of bupropion so they gave me 3 months of Wellbutrin 150 XL. Didn't sleep well for a couple of nights. I've been trying to get back into a regular fitness routine for 5-6 years since that awful depression. Since starting the Wellbutrin XL, I'm now swimming twice a week with plans to add going to the gym. I don't know why doctors prescribe SSRIs so much. They cause weight gain and I felt dead down below. SSRIs are sometimes used to treat MAPs (Minor Attracted Persons) to reduce their libido. I consider all 3 meds I take for depression to be excellent."

"Bad, bad side effects from Wellbutrin XL, major palpitations, dry, dry mouth, crying, couldn't sit still, and panic. After taking for 2 weeks, nausea is debilitating. Worst medication I have ever had, back on Paxil CR."

"This is my second week fully on it and finally tapered off of fluvoxamine. I think it’s doing okay. I’m taking the 150 mg every day, and the side effects I’ve been having are heart palpitations and an increase in anxiety. I hope they go away soon :) Also, I don’t think weight loss is gonna work for me on this because I’m eating a lot but not as bad as when I was on mirtazapine. I think it’s been helping my mood, so I can’t wait to see if it’s gonna help me during the winter when I typically get hit hard with depression. This medicine doesn’t help with my GAD or panic disorder! Only depression!!! Can’t wait to see how it helps further down the road."

"Increasing the dose from 150 mg to 300 mg daily stopped suicidal ideation, but did not improve anhedonia. Increased dose associated with the onset of hemidyskinesia, which diminished on a lowered dosage and resolved completely when the drug stopped."

"Today is my first day taking it, and I am hopeful it will work. My doctor has placed me on Vibrid, but that was a $100 out-of-pocket cost. Though I did find it helpful, my insurance copay for it and my budget will not allow me to continue usage. Got off of it for 3 weeks, now starting this one. I have faith - we shall see."
