Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "Not at all what I expected. Have used Vyvanse with success, but went back to Adderall, more flexibility dosing. Can take a second dose during the day if necessary, or not. Mydayis takes an unusually long time to kick in. Have found that I am much more irritable, foggy, and have experienced feelings of being overwhelmed at work doing things that I normally handle day in and day out with no problem. I am, for the most part, easygoing, everything seems to annoy me since I began using Mydayis. Also, have experienced headaches during lag times, body aches, and flu-like symptoms. A lot of the time, I feel worse than I do unmedicated. Do not like Mydayis at all. Will not be refilling."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I have been taking 2-10mg IR tablets each day for about a month. I have noticed a significant difference in how well I perform at school since I've been on Adderall. I have many honors and AP classes, which always have a big workload. Each day I had to struggle with my ADD and having to look over the material numerous times. I am now able to focus and have confidence in my classes. Usually, I am the last person taking a test, and now I am one of the first people done because I am finally able to focus. Negatives: as Adderall wears off, I feel antisocial, weak, agitated, and slightly depressed, the positives definitely outweigh the negatives. ADD is hard to deal with, and finally being able to focus means so much to me."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "My 10 y/o daughter used this medication for several months. Was not as effective as a previous medication (Vyvanse). Did not last that long (effect wore off mid-day) and caused her to have an increased heart rate daily. In addition, her entire mood changed. She became uninterested in even her favorite things, almost like a depression, and she also became extremely moody. Very irritable and easily agitated and upset."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine "I started Adderall at age 17. I've been taking it for about 3 years. I have slight to moderate ADD and chronic fatigue syndrome/narcolepsy. Adderall helped me be productive, get back to work and school, and maintain a social life. I often try to do too many things at once and get overwhelmed. The 'high' is great, you feel on top of the world. But the crash is horrible! If I miss a dose, I can't get out of bed that day. On normal days, I can function well until the dose wears off. The loss of appetite isn't good, and it takes a while to get it back. I lost 40 lbs in my first two months, which caused dizziness, fainting, agitation, and all that other great stuff that happens when you can't eat. I started off on 5 mg, then 10 mg, then 25 mg."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I'm a full-time college student in my mid-20s. I've been on Adderall for 3 months now. I cut my 15 mg IR in half and take it in the morning and the other half 3 hours later (and another half after 3-4 hours if needed). I don't take it every day, I probably only take it 4x a week. If you don't have an addictive personality, you won't be addicted to it. I have to say it works really well with my ADD. I'm able to study for hours at a time. I don't necessarily think it makes you smarter. It just lets you focus on a task without getting distracted. I think my only complaint is sudden mood swings and agitation. I definitely noticed a difference in my personality the days I'm not on it. I get angry very easily and irritable."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "Worked really well for the first week or so, but then really made me more irritable and gave me uncontrollable suicidal urges that ultimately sent me to the hospital. The suicidal urges stopped after dropping the medication. I wouldn't recommend against the medication, I would just proceed with caution as the side effects can vary in intensity from person to person."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "This drug was prescribed to me after Ritalin didn't work well. This medication helped my ADHD, but the side effects were unbearable: cotton mouth, irritability, anxiety, panic attacks. It seemed like the cons outweighed the pros. Much more successful than Ritalin, but not enough. My doctor decided to try Vyvanse, a new version of Adderall with fewer side effects and better outcomes for treatment, plus no crash after dinner."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I'm 16 and not diagnosed with ADD, but have struggled my entire life in school and am constantly failing. I have trouble paying attention, staying focused, and devoting time towards school and homework. Starting around last year, I would come home from school every day very tired and go to sleep till 7 or 8 pm. I got prescribed Adderall this year, and it's made a drastic improvement. I have all A's and B's now. But the downfalls are I talk a lot (no, I'm not on it right now), and sometimes I focus but on pointless things, and after it wears off, I get irritable, anxious, and emotional. I wish it lasted longer also. The medicine has kind of taken a slight turn on me and I am acting different, and my parents have noticed a change in me."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "Diagnosed ADD at 18 y/o, on and off Adderall IR since then. Too high a dose causes psychosis...be forewarned. I used to be on 30 mg 3x/day, now I'm leery of taking more than 2.5 mg 2x/day. Maybe it builds up in the brain, so be sure to take breaks from it often. I notice the side effects outweigh the benefits at higher doses... irritability, zombie-like come-down. My insurance only covers this and Ritalin, so I'm stuck with bad side effects."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I was taking Adderall for nearly 3 years when my insurance would no longer cover it. I started taking it when I enrolled in college. It helped me achieve the honor roll every term I was taking it. I felt more confident and focused, whereas in high school I was unable to do such tasks and received D's and F's. I wish that I was taking Adderall again. I've taken Ritalin, methamphetamine, and now Dexedrine, which doesn't compare to Adderall. I have been taking this for 6 months now, and I am no longer on the honor roll. No matter how hard I try, my focus isn't where I need it to be. On the other hand, I don't have the side effects of severe irritability or quick anger that Adderall tends to cause."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for Narcolepsy "Works wonders for me. I still occasionally have some daytime sleepiness, which I can handle with a quick 5-minute nap, but it has gotten rid of the cataplexy. I really had a problem with symptoms of cataplexy. If I laughed, got mad, or was emotional in any way, I would end up on the floor. I rarely have any of these symptoms now, which is a miracle for me. I do have two side effects: one is that I can become pretty irritable, and the second is that I get a bit more aroused."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I was prescribed 50 mg. 1st day I could literally feel the release of the medication. During the lag of the release, I would get headaches, become tired, irritable, and frustrated with every situation and conversation. By evening time, I couldn't carry a conversation without forgetting prior known facts. Saturday, I was completely not myself. On top of how I felt Friday, I was emotional, had down thoughts, I couldn't follow a timeline: I was late for everything. Sunday seemed to be better but not by much. Monday... horrible, it was like I added Friday and Saturday symptoms together, then add in horrible chest pain, shortness of breath, constant feeling of about to faint, fever, flu symptoms, hot/cold, exhausted but not able to sleep, & more symptoms. I refuse to take another dose."

For Fatigue "I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about a year ago, but the onset of symptoms began years ago (in particular, the chronic fatigue). Before I even saw a doctor, the fatigue got so bad that all I was doing was working and sleeping. But it must have been a year and a half ago that the most intense fatigue I’d ever experienced began. When it hits me, it’s hard to keep my vision from blurring or doubling. The exhaustion is so bad it’s actually painful! And it began happening more and more. Just about 3 or 4 months ago, the doctor prescribed me this medication. First a very low dose, but then higher until it was right. I only take it if I get the painful fatigue that causes blurred vision and if I am working. I don’t like the after-effect (anxiety, irritability, headache), but it definitely helps me get through those episodes of intense fatigue!"

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I take one a day. It helps me concentrate and also helps me feel ambitious and less depressed. But when it wears off in the evening, I start feeling sad and easily agitated. I can take up to 2 a day, but I usually only take one because I don't want it to cause any heart problems."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I’m a 21-year-old female. Adderall helped me focus, be on time, stay organized. However, as time passed, I noticed the negative impact. I had weight loss, irritability, my anxiety was worse, dry skin, dry mouth, and was not feeling like myself. I developed insomnia too. This was only on 20 mg a day. I took it as prescribed. The worst part was when I tried to quit taking it after I was switched to Vyvanse, which I felt even worse on. I ended up in the hospital having a panic attack the first time I tried to stop taking it. The second time I tried to quit, I had even more withdrawal symptoms: paranoia, panic attacks, vomiting. Stimulants are not worth it."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I was diagnosed with ADHD 6 years ago by my family physician. She put me on Effexor, which seemed to help at first, but over the next year, the side effects were not worth the results. Another doctor recently prescribed Adderall, and when that worked well, he gave Adderall XR. I am so much more centered, can concentrate, and my quality of life is so much better. I hate that it is thought of as a 'street drug,' and I hate that the price is so high. The generic did nothing for me except to make me agitated/jittery for a few hours, then crashed and had a headache."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "Seems to take hours for the extended-release formulation to have noticeable results. Helps dispel the brain fog, minimizes my inattention, and helps me maintain concentration. I still manage to do things in a circuitous fashion because my distractibility is severe, and I will abandon a task when anything else catches my attention. I still have problems endlessly procrastinating and seldom manage to be on time. Overall, it is moderately helpful for my symptoms. The only side effect is irritability later in the afternoon, which affects my sociability. However, I'm rather misanthropic anyway, having few acquaintances, and they will avoid me when I get annoyed."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I take the extended release once a day. I recently got a dose increase for my extreme fatigue. It has been about 3 weeks, and I do not like the symptoms that occur with it. I feel like a zombie, I don't enjoy talking when I am on my medicine. I get extremely bad, frequent headaches, I am even more tired when it wears off, but I am unable to sleep. I get really irritable and moody. With the lower dose, the main problematic symptom I would have was the dry mouth, but that was manageable."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "10 days into Mydayis. I have no appetite even in the AM before I take the Mydayis, 50 mg. I have to force-feed myself, even ice cream is a struggle after the 3rd bite. After I take it, I feel lost, can't track conversations, no/minimal recall, I can't even prioritize. My production at work is half of what it was when I was on Vyvanse 60 mg. I don't have any motivation. I want to do things, I just can't. All the feelings of being lazy, feeling bad about myself, despair, and no motivation have come back. I feel agitated and feel that I get angry much faster. My anxiety is worse than it was when I was on Vyvanse. I am constantly bouncing 1 or both of my legs and only bounced them a little when I was on Vyvanse. I am calling my Dr. 1st thing in the morning, and I hope that she puts me back on Vyvanse. There is a shortage of Adderall and Vyvanse right now, so I am hoping I can get it. While Mydayis is only about $3 a month, it isn't worth the savings."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I switched from Adderall XR 20 mg (3 years) to Mydayis 25 mg (1 month) but felt no positive or negative effects (like taking nothing), so upped the dose to 37.5 mg (~2 weeks). I’ve personally never had worse side effects from any drug. Most bothersome were strong headaches with sensitivity to light, dizziness, unusual motion sickness/nausea, achy muscles, restlessness, racing heart/palpitations, fatigue, and irritability... plus other common Adderall-ish side effects. But, yeah, takes a few hours to take effect and not covered by insurance ($100+/30-day supply), so will not continue. Hope this helps. Best of luck to you."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I've been on Adderall since I was in high school, so about 5 years. It works well for my concentration and allows me to focus for an extended period of time, such as when studying. This medicine has definitely helped me, but it has a lot of side effects. For me, loss of appetite, euphoria, and dry mouth are the most common. Headaches are frequent, but nothing ibuprofen can't fix. I've been on and off antidepressants that affected the Adderall. When I was on Lexapro, taking Adderall would make me irritable, anxious, and paranoid, sometimes to a full-blown panic attack. Now I'm on Prozac, and the Adderall combination is fine. But I still get anxious and mildly irritable when the 'high' of the Adderall decreases."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I've been prescribed Adderall IR since I was 14 years old. I always found that it worked well enough for me - better than Vyvanse, which made me agitated; Strattera, which simply never worked and gave me Raynaud's; and Focalin, which made me feel manic (I used to jokingly call it 'Cocalin', since it felt similar to the high from cocaine). However, I only found the IR effective for a few hours, so I switched to XR right before I started my first full-time job. While my attention has been fine for most (but not all) of the workday, the side effects have been awful. The most significantly different side effect for the XR dose has been a complete loss of my sex drive, which has been awful and has impacted my relationship. My tolerance has also increased to the point where I am at the maximum dose and feel like it's barely working anymore. If I don't take it, I feel depressed and can't get out of bed. It's no longer worth taking as it now runs my life and only provides marginal efficacy."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I am only giving this a 7 because it definitely made a change in my ability to concentrate for long periods, but it was not a pleasant experience. As soon as I took the medicine, it would make me feel exhausted and tired. I would have to fight the tiredness to get any benefit out of it. By the end of the day, I was drained. It also made me extra agitated. I couldn't focus on more than one thing at a time, so when someone would distract me, I would get very irritated. I also tensed up my muscles and had bad neck/bad pain. I switched to Ritalin, but that was crap too. They put me on Vyvanse, and it feels similar, but less intense than Adderall, so we shall see."
