For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I hope you all are better. Mine is the same story. I suffered a year with stomach pain, then last week found out it was H. pylori. Given amoxicillin clavacid (Klovax 625 mg three times daily, clarithromycin 500 mg twice daily, and lansoprazole twice daily). Have most of the above-mentioned side effects: dark greenish stool, nausea, sometimes no appetite, headache, queasy feeling in the tummy, and weakness. I must say that the intensity of the symptoms before with H. pylori has subsided 80%. So perhaps it's working... by God's permission. I had polyuria (increased urine frequency) on the first bit, and it subsided after a while, then returned on the fourth day. Now I don't know if this is a serious effect to cause me to stop the treatment... and I can't get my doctor until tomorrow."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I started treatment 3 days ago, and it hasn't been bad at all. I'm doing the omeprazole, amoxicillin, clarithromycin treatment. First day, first dose, I experienced a little bit of nausea, but nothing bad enough to make me vomit. It came and went, and I did experience extreme fatigue. My entire body was weak and tired. After a nap, I felt fine! I ate Activia yogurt 4 hours after taking it. It also caused a pretty bad migraine. The second dose wasn't bad at all, I started to experience the nasty taste in my mouth, which isn't even that bad, and it only lasted about 5 minutes. It tastes like when a pill dissolves in your mouth, but after drinking water, it went away. On the 2nd day, the same thing: fatigue for about 2 hours and a migraine... nothing that bad at all. On day 3, a slight headache and a few pains in my gut that come and go. Again, nothing that affected my daily life. No diarrhea yet, but I am constipated! I've been eating Activia yogurt twice daily, which has been a huge help. I'm also taking Zofran to prevent the nausea."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Was prescribed these drugs for 14 days alongside 4 daily tablets of Metronidazole 250 mg and Nexium instead of Lansoprazole. Diarrhea, headaches, nausea, insomnia, dizziness, tongue numbness/tingling, bad bitter tastes in my mouth. It's almost intolerable and much worse than the actual disease. I'm only on day 6. I'm sticking to it, but it is a struggle every second."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Had to stop after morning three-pack on day 13. Unbearable headache, worsened dizziness, nausea, insomnia, and horrible taste in mouth. I had to take it over Christmas, and it was horrible. Now switching over to naturopathic treatment of mastic gum and Laurcidin (brand of monolaurin). I have heard that using green tea along with those two is helpful. Good luck, everyone! It also helps not to eat the foods that most feed unhealthy bacteria: sugar (with the exception of fruit), wheat, corn, dairy, and alcohol."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I was diagnosed with pylori, put on antibiotics for 8 days, which is Zoxil 500g, Clarihexal 500g, two tablets each day and be taken in the morning and afternoons. The first two days were horrible, headaches, vomiting, metal tasting in my mouth. On the third day, no side effects. I am a gym junkie and exercising every day with heavy weight training. No side effects after training. I finished the course, feel like a million dollars, and gym training increased to twice a day."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "This is in part a response to Chris from the July 7th comment. I am currently taking my antibiotic cocktail and panicked thinking that the antibiotics were making me sick, so launched a search landing me here. I feel absolutely lousy! I have headaches, lethargy, arthritic joints and fingers, stomach cramps/diarrhea, fog brain, and a metallic taste. From reading these comments, I'm guessing this is part of the treatment. I'm determined to see this through because I want this darn bacteria out of my body. Anyway, I hope this helps others. Looking forward to finishing the cocktail, getting on some heavily loaded probiotics, and getting back to my normal life. Definitely asking to be retested soon after because I don't want to give the little nasties a chance to proliferate. I will go at them with another round of the antibiotics. Fingers crossed and only have to do this once."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "So when I first started, I was only prescribed clarithromycin, pantoprazole, and Pepto-Bismol (which I took 2 hours after meds). Always allow two hours before or after meds if your treatment includes Pepto-Bismol. Apparently, if taken at the same time, it will hinder the treatment process. The first day, I had this horrible taste in my mouth, a racing heart, and a slight headache. After that, the taste was still there, but I got used to it. Then, I had to get amoxicillin added because the other prescribing doctor should’ve given me that to begin with. I have no side effects at all besides the bad taste when I lay down. My symptoms of H. pylori went away within a few days of starting these medications. MAKE SURE YOU EAT BEFORE OR DURING THE TIME YOU TAKE YOUR MEDS. I believe this is why I had no symptoms, and I have a very weak stomach in general. Good luck, everyone waiting to get tested again myself."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Okay, so I'm not one to normally share this, but I started these like 4 days ago, and I'll tell you this before I get into my side effects. I'm a panicky person in general, and please know that everyone is different when it comes to side effects. But I'm on day 4, and I haven't left the bed in one day. The first night on it wasn't that bad, I felt a little nauseous but didn't throw up. The next night, I started getting dizzy. I thought, well, I must be tired, so I went to bed. The third day, I was dizzy as anything, which caused my panic attacks to get way worse. Now we are on the 4th day, and I have never felt so dizzy, slight headache, random pains in my stomach, diarrhea, weak, and my panic attacks are like every hour. I'll say this: you must eat on this, although they say it doesn't matter, and drink tons, and I mean tons of water. I am pushing through because I don't want the constant pain in my stomach to be there anymore. I do hope others are better than me."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Before I started my triple antibiotics, I read a lot of reviews of pretty bad side effects - honestly, I got really nervous, but I usually don’t get side effects. Within 2 hours of taking my very dose, I felt so nauseous and weak, and I also had a headache. Then the runs started, but that was just day 1. Day 2, the runs stopped, but everything else continued, and I vomit acid almost every night and morning, it’s always at least 4 hours after my dose. At this point, I’m still striving through and just ignoring my side effects since they are “normal.” It’s day 7, and I’m up at 3 a.m. crying because I’m also experiencing some sort of panic attacks before I vomit. I read this has something to do with acid touching your heart or something like that? I’ve never experienced panic attacks before this. I thought I would have to call 911 after tonight, but thankfully after vomiting, I feel better temporarily. I hope you all feel better, xo."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Did a week of treatment and didn’t work. I am now on the 12th day of a 14-day treatment. It has been horrendous, went to the toilet 20 times on day seven, normal stools. I suppose the bad bacteria has to go somewhere. Had headaches, metal mouth, chills, insomnia, very bloated tummy. Can’t wait to finish treatment and hope all is better when I get tested."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I was diagnosed with HP only after the antibody test because now, with the pandemic, they don't provide the Breath test. So, I am not sure this is what I have. On day 8, I did not have many side effects, only a bad taste in the mouth and a headache on day one. My pharmacist suggested, though, to have yogurt or a 'good' bacteria preparation 2 hours after the pills to reduce chances of diarrhea. Maybe that is indeed helping. My heartburn symptoms of burning in the chest and lower throat still are almost the same as on day one. I am not sure this is working."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Horrible. I used to be a fine, well person without these antibiotics. Now I feel terrible after this treatment of 14 days. I feel as if life isn't real and cry randomly every day. My head feels like I'm dizzy, and my head hurts whenever I look at a screen. These antibiotics didn't help me at all."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Prior to being diagnosed, I experienced long bouts of nausea to the point I couldn’t do much in day-to-day activities. I was severely nauseous for a month on several occasions with increasing acid reflux and bloating. Fast forward, I was VERY weary of taking Prevpac (I had not read all reviews of this medication) just out of worry for continued severe nausea. I started on Friday, and today marks day 4. I’ve been taking both Amoxicillin 500 mg, Clarithromycin, and Lansoprazole in that order before eating. I’ve also been drinking 2 Activia probiotic dailies 2-3 hours before or after I take the meds. I will say the meds are hard to muster, totaling 8 tabs/capsules a day for 14 days. So far, I’ve had mild nausea, slight chills, lightheadedness, headache, and stomach cramps."
