For Osteoporosis "I have had 5 compression fractures and 1 broken rib since 51. I'm now 55. My osteoporosis is from prednisone. I was tall at 5'9, now I am 5'4 and my organs are being crushed. I have a hunchback from repeated compression fractures. My neck is like 4 inches forward. I've lost most of my mobility. Can barely get out of a chair or bed. I can't garden anymore or do chores. No choice but to take big pharma poisons again. Taking Tymlos for 5 days now. Had no side effects until night 4, so I take it at night. I inject it into the fatty part of my thigh. On day 4, could not sleep a wink. Heart racing, whole body neuropathy, stomach pains, gas, heartburn, dizziness, leg pain. Oh joy, now this for 18 months. It better grow bone. I've read that if you get a compression fracture, you should get a kyphoplasty to stabilize the fracture, regain vertebral height, and get out of pain to avoid a hunchback. The medical field and big pharma aren't here to help, just to live in a nightmare that I cannot awake from."

For Osteoporosis "I used Tymlos from Mar 22 to Feb 23. From the first injection, I experienced a rapid heart rate, dull aching in my mid-back kidney area, frequent urination, and some dizziness. I used it before bed due to the side effects. If I got up at night, I was often disoriented. The injections also sometimes caused bruising and pain. After 2 months, I began using it every other day due to the side effects, even though these were primarily at night. But I was really tired due to getting up at night to use the bathroom. I was optimistic about this drug as it is designed to grow bone, rather than just stop bone loss like biophosphonates, and I was willing to continue treatment for another year. Super disappointed with my DEXA bone scan results and stopped Tymlos due to essentially zero benefits: Hip: -2.9. Prior -2.8, slight decrease; Femoral neck: -3.4. Prior -2.9, major decrease; Lumbar spine: -2.2. Prior -2.2, no change. For me, Tymlos was not effective. Blessings on the journey toward stronger bones."

For Osteoporosis "I used Tymlos for approximately four months. After the first month and a half to two months, I started having really bad leg and back pain. The nurse practitioner convinced me to keep taking it, so I continued for another month and a half. However, the pain became unbearable, and I had to go to the emergency room. I was told that I was growing new bone in my legs, causing the pain to feel like growing pains. Despite this being the only side effect I experienced, the pain was so severe that I had to stop taking it as I couldn't endure it anymore, I was up every night."

For Osteoporosis "After the 1st injection, I had back and leg pain, headache, and heart pounding. The headache lasted about 20 hours along with an ill feeling. The next 2 injections, the back and leg pain were much less, but still the headache and slightly ill feeling. Now 8 days in, just slight pain and occasional heart pounding, but only for a short period of time."

For Osteoporosis "I have been on Tymlos for five months. I inject just before getting in bed to minimize feeling the side effects. I started having heart palpitations when I first started injecting it. Each month they lessened, and now I don't have them at all. I had a pelvic stress fracture a year ago and a back compression fracture eight months ago. I didn't fall or have any type of accident. My bones just fractured. I've never had to inject myself before, but it is very easy to do. The dosage is pre-measured. Couldn't be easier. I hope it is working. Still have a lot of pain from the fractures, but went from a walker to a cane, and sometimes in the house I don't need the cane. I can't rate this medicine because I don't know yet if it has made my bones stronger. Doctor will order a bone density test at my next appointment."

For Osteoporosis "Six Tymlos injections so far at half dose (4 clicks). First-day side effects were just feeling odd. Trouble sleeping on night 2. With the first few injections, there were hot flashes, shocks, and pains that quickly moved around my body. Also, headaches that lasted about 20 hours and muscle pains as if I'd been in a car accident. I wondered if the benefits could outweigh the sense that my body was being poisoned. After the fourth dose, things started calming down some. The most persistent effect is a tolerable pain in my lower left back that began with the first injection and hasn't gone away yet. I was told to ramp up the dose from half (4 clicks) to 5 clicks on the 5th night. Not wanting more bad side effects, I have put that off. The PA who prescribed indicated that some people can't tolerate going up from a half dose. If that's me, I wonder, will half a dose do any good for my bones? Or will I inject myself and go through side effects for 2 years for no benefit?"

For Osteoporosis "Not good. Not good at all. I finally overcame the terror of self-injection, and now I'm dealing with awful side effects: within 20 min, my heart starts to race, and that goes on for hours. I have increased pain in my spine and joints. I feel like I have the flu for about 4-5 hours a day, every day, within an hour of taking Tymlos. Jittery, achy, and generally miserable. Now I'm reading that as soon as I stop taking this drug, my bones are back to screwed anyway, so I'm considering dropping this drug for good."

For Osteoporosis "I have been injecting Tymlos in the evening and having severe back pain in the morning. The body pain has been increasing. Without moving, I can feel my legs and feet hurt. My hips are 3.7, and I was hoping this was the drug that would help me. The results from my recent lab work showed an increase in ALP. My endocrinologist switched me to Tymlos because it doesn’t require refrigeration. My latest ALP increased from 128 to 202 after 6 weeks of treatment. From what I’ve read, it looks like it’s time to give it up."

For Osteoporosis "I've only been on Tymlos for about a month, and the headaches and full spine have gradually increased in pain. I've felt as though I've gotten worse since I started. My bones hurt worse and get even worse when trying to sleep, and when my bladder has the least urge to urinate, it seems to increase the pain. Still not feeling better, or well for that matter. It seems the side effects explained are lasting throughout the day and night. Should I just stop using it? As it has, in hand, made it more difficult to eat, as the pain and dizziness are over the top. Nauseous all the time."

For Osteoporosis "After 6 weeks, the following side effects have not improved with my pre-bed shots: heartburn and gas on and off all day. Fatigue. Spend 11-13 hours in bed. Trying to sleep or fatigue so strong, getting up is a challenge. Brain fog, which I assume is from constant fatigue. L1 fracture is more painful now than the first 3 months of healing. Not sure I can stay on this as depression is becoming the newest side effect. More power to those who succeed."

For Osteoporosis "I have been taking Tymlos for about 6 months now. I rarely had a side effect other than tiredness, until about 3 weeks ago, when I started having pain in my knees and legs. It gets difficult to work out or walk with this pain. I am taking Advil to help me, and I hope it gets better, I do not want to stop the medication. I hope it helps me with my osteo. Doing a scan after my first year of treatment to see if my bones have improved."
