Important warnings
This medicine can cause some serious health issues
Do not use phenylephrine and pyrilamine if you have taken an MAO inhibitor in the past 14 days.
A dangerous drug interaction could occur.
MAO inhibitors include isocarboxazid, linezolid, phenelzine, rasagiline, selegiline, and tranylcypromine.
Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction while taking phenylephrine / pyrilamine: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Stop using this medication and call your doctor at once if you have:

fast or uneven heart rate;
-
mood changes;
-
tremor, seizure (convulsions);
-
easy bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness;
-
little or no urinating;
-
feeling short of breath; or
-
dangerously high blood pressure (severe headache, blurred vision, buzzing in your ears, anxiety, chest pain, uneven heartbeats, seizure).
Common side effects may include:

dizziness, drowsiness;
-
dry mouth, nose, or throat;
-
blurred vision; or
-
feeling nervous or restless.

General adverse events
General side effects have included dryness of mucous membranes.[Ref]
Dermatologic
Dermatologic side effects have included urticaria, drug rash, photosensitivity and pruritus.[Ref]
Gastrointestinal
Gastrointestinal side effects have included epigastric discomfort, anorexia, vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation.[Ref]
Genitourinary
Genitourinary side effects have included urinary frequency and difficult urination.[Ref]
Nervous system
Nervous system side effects have included drowsiness, sedation, disturbed coordination, tremor, irritability, insomnia, nervousness, convulsions, headache, euphoria, and dysphoria.[Ref]
Ocular
Ocular side effects have included visual disturbances.[Ref]
Hematologic
Hematologic side effects have included hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, and agranulocytosis.[Ref]
Respiratory
Respiratory side effects have included tightness of chest, wheezing, and shortness of breath.[Ref]
Cardiovascular
Cardiovascular side effects have included hypotension, hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias and palpitations.[Ref]
