"Nine days after I started taking Gemtesa, I could make it to the bathroom without leaking and needing to change my pad. Within 3 weeks, I could go 4 hours without leaking day or night. Now, occasionally if I go over 5 hours, I sometimes leak a small amount. I would say it has improved my problem by 95%. Side effects I have noticed are a runny nose and a headache."

"It helped curb the incontinence but did not stop it. I still do not always make it to the bathroom in time, but the wetting is not a full release like it originally was. I have not noticed any side effects after 3+ weeks of taking this medication."

"Gemtesa worked for me in just a few days. I've been on it for six weeks. I have had some gastro issues but don't know if Gemtesa is the cause. I also have some redness on my chest, not quite a rash, and don't know why that would happen suddenly after six weeks of use. Nothing that will cause me to stop using it. I'm very happy with the results of less urgency, fewer trips to the bathroom, and I can sneeze without leaking. Not having to always think about general overactive bladder issues is a game changer for this busy senior citizen. Pretty wonderful."

"Was prescribed Gemtesa for urinary pain and urgency caused by endometriosis. Worked wonderfully for those symptoms! Fully reduced urethral pain and bladder aches. But caused a rare side effect of night sweats that got worse over time. After about three months, I had to stop the Gemtesa because the night sweats were too disruptive."

"Gemtesa has significantly reduced the urgency to urinate, but not really the frequency. It seems once my bladder is full, I get a faint inkling that I have to go. I have a serious side effect that may lead to my ceasing taking Gemtesa, in that my stools are not recognizable, it just happens mostly when I urinate, but not always, which leads to some disgusting accidents."

"I give Gemtesa a 10/10 for effectiveness. I am unable to take Detrol or Ditropan due to migraines and excessive thirst. I battled - if you know, you know - overactive bladder with urinary incontinence for one year due to kidney stone surgery. Gemtesa 100% worked within 5 days. Total cessation of urinary incontinence. My insurance (Tricare/Express Scripts) did cover the cost with prior medical review submitted from my doctor. Unfortunately, I guess I am the only person who has experienced a weight gain of 8 pounds within 5 weeks of starting it. I will take the weight gain over incontinence and overactive bladder any day. I’ve had no migraines as well. I thought this mention of weight gain is important for others. For reference as well, I am a 66-year-young female and have lymphedema. I plan to continue Gemtesa for as long as is needed."

"This has helped so much to reduce frequency and urgency when nothing else has helped. I have a little hesitancy with urination, but I don’t mind that. It reduced my frequency from 30-60 minutes to 2-4.5 hours! No dry mouth side effect. I have only been taking samples from my doctor for 1 week. I see improvements every day."

"I've been taking 75 mg once per night, and it works well for my overactive bladder caused by interstitial cystitis. But within about a month, my legs have become completely dry and flaky. I've been using very rough loofahs, soft loofahs, no loofahs, but my results are the same. I am using CeraVe cream for itchy skin, which has always worked well for me, but not now. I am also using a moisturizing soap, but my legs are still scaly. Is this caused by the medication or the strength of the medication? I haven't had any other symptoms."

"Gemtesa was the first medication that improved multiple issues I had with overactive bladder. It was effective and with quick results. I did not experience any side effects or problems with Gemtesa. I would, very much, like to continue taking it, however, with my insurance payment, I had to pay $200 per month. With fixed income, Social Security, and other medications I take, I cannot afford to continue Gemtesa. Great product, too expensive. Thanks."

"I cannot RAVE enough about this drug. ZERO side effects. It started working after the first dose. I could cry. I have my life back. My urologist gave me a 2-month supply, but my cost through insurance is $165 for a 90-day supply. WORTH EVERY PENNY!"

"I am not getting up at night as much by using Gemtesa. However, it is really expensive and I have new insurance, so I'm not sure if I can get a break. My last insurance charged me $70 for 90 days. The normal co-pay is over $300."

"My urologist prescribed this medication for me when I complained of total urinary incontinence and that I wasn't liking having to wear depends all the time, changing them sometimes 4-5 times a day. She gave me a sample of this pill and if it didn't help, that we would meet in a month to discuss other options. It has helped me tremendously with no side effects whatsoever. The only negative comment I have is the high cost of the pills and they are not covered by my Medicare plan."

"It works very well! It just may have worked too well since I’ve gone as much as 36 hours without urinating, when without it I can’t get very far away from a bathroom. Unfortunately, the cost in 2025 makes it too expensive for me to continue using it. My pharmacy said it increased $700/month. I’ve wondered if the increase was directly related to the success of the drug. If that turns out to be the case, I will forever boycott the company."

"First treatment I've tried over the past 6 years that worked right away. Tried all the gotta-go meds, had the vagal stimulator treatments for a couple of years. They worked for a while, but effectiveness started to wane. My first week with Gemtesa was great. Before, I was using pads every day, becoming incontinent without being able to control my bladder. It's terrible when it happens at work when you are a teacher sub. The pads became irritating to my private area. Now I can go all day without wearing a pad! It's great. I do find I need to drink more fluids, but that is not a big problem. No other side effects. One 75 mg pill a day and it's done. My biggest problem is that my insurance does not cover it."

"My experience with Gemtesa has been excellent. It stopped excess urine when I thought I had emptied my bladder. Antes Gemtesa, I would leave the bathroom with urine running down my leg and my pants having a large urine stain. I was no longer uncomfortable needing to use the urinal. No more leaking or stained pants. I have not had any side effects from Gemtesa! My dosage is one tablet per 24 hours. It works well for me."

"Gemtesa is a wonderful drug! I'm dry for the first time in years. I was previously using Trospium and didn't have good results with that. That was not the reason my doctor switched drugs. Seems that it's been discovered that Trospium can cause mental changes, which is not a good side effect for an elderly woman. Anyway, I couldn't be happier to be taking Gemtesa. I have no discernible side effects."

"This has been a life-changer for me. I've had problems that go way back into early childhood. My father used to plan trips by where the gas stations were. I only recently found out about pills that helped the urgency and control problems. From just about the day I started Gemtesa, I have had relief. I used to have to rush to the bathroom as soon as I walked in the house from driving. The difference is amazing. The PA at the urology practice mentioned it, and I tried it with reservations about yet another pill to keep track of. I'm so glad she told me about it. I highly recommend Gemtesa if your doctor suggests using it."

"I have just started on this drug to treat OAB. The doctor warned me to try this and gave me six weeks of samples. The dosing is one 75mg tablet a day. I was previously on Myrbetriq. That drug just stopped working, and my pharmacy had problems getting it."

"I would give Gemtesa a 4-star rating. Considering the high cost of the drug makes the drug not affordable. With the other drugs I take Jardiance and Entresto and other medications, the cost of these drugs is beyond affordable. The so-called assistance program for cost support is not attainable if you have insurance coverage you purchase. I am on Medicare and purchase supplemental drug coverage. The donut hole takes all my income."

"I was thrilled that after several days I was no longer having accidents that even pads couldn't contain. I have been on Gemtesa for about 6 months and now, suddenly I can't empty my bladder. At first, I thought I had a UTI since I had a constant urge to go, then I realized it was the Gemtesa, and I can't empty my bladder. I stopped taking it as of this morning, and I hope things get better quickly. Gemtesa works well, perhaps too well."

"Works very well for me. But it is way too expensive, and I can't afford the cost. My insurance will not cover it either, so I will just have to suffer until something changes."

"Worked great. Stopped by urgent care to urinate every 45 minutes or so. Now I go every now and then or make myself go. The problems I have encountered, which I’m not sure if I can attribute to the drug, are constipation and hard stools. I’m also experiencing ED, which wasn’t great before but seems to have gotten worse. I’m sleeping better, and I used to get up 5-6 times a night… now maybe once!"
