For Type 2 Diabetes "Excellent experience! I’m currently on 10mg per week SC injection of Mounjaro. My HgbA1c has decreased substantially, to the point where I am now back in a pre-diabetic zone again - although I maintain my diet and exercise as though I’m still fully diabetic. Bonus: In the process of titrating up to 10mg/week I lost 40 lbs. The weight loss occurred over the past 7-8 months and I am now maintaining my lower weight loss. Regarding side effects (or adverse events) that I’ve experienced, they have been minimal and mostly consisting of constipation. This is easily controlled with a medium-sized (half a cap) daily dose of Miralax in my morning coffee!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Mounjaro is amazing! For over 2 years, my doctor was trying to get me to try medications to control my A1C, and I thought I could do it on my own. I finally tried Mounjaro after 3 years of trying to lose weight on my own to help my glucose levels. I have been on 2.5 for 1 year and have lost 58 lbs and am still losing! The only side effect I experienced is constipation, which is controlled by eating prunes. I am so very grateful for this medication."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking 2.5 in January. It worked well to level blood sugar. I did not feel hungry at all, and I had to think about eating and drinking. When I did eat, I chose no greasy foods at all. On one occasion that I had something greasy, I had sulphuric burps. I do have to make sure to drink water, tea, and a new favorite diet tonic water with a splash of juice. I lost only five pounds, so my doctor increased the dose to 5mg. I feel full now, not to eat large meals but have had only one slight side effect, constipation, so I eat some prunes and no problem. I am losing weight slowly, and that is okay, it’s not why I took the drug. Do not eat greasy food and see how you feel."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "WOW! Eight months, and I have lost 80 lbs. I had constipation and took Miralax. I had an upset stomach and heartburn. Didn’t last long when on a low dose. On the highest dose, I no longer have an upset stomach and heartburn. I take Contrave, too. I have been overweight my entire life. I was taught to eat three times a day and clean my plate. Now I am able to not eat unless hungry and to leave food on my plate. My whole way of looking and feeling and thinking about food has changed. Life no longer revolves around food. Life-changing."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking Mounjaro in August of '22. My doctor started me on it for Type 2 diabetes, but weight loss was also the goal. Started at 2.5 mg and now I’m on 15 mg. So far, I’ve lost 80 pounds with no effort. I’ve had little to no appetite. In regard to side effects, they’ve been very minimal. Some mild nausea, dry mouth, and constipation. I have vomited on 3 occasions, and it was due to drinking too much coffee, which made me too full. When reading reviews, please keep in mind that in terms of side effects, you just won’t know until you try the med. I personally have 2 other friends taking this, and their experiences have been pretty much like mine. Don’t let the horror stories scare you, because this medicine has been a true lifesaver for me."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This product has been excellent for me. My A1C came down from 8.9 to 5.9 in about 6 months. I have a few adverse symptoms: constipation, some stomach issues, but nothing I can’t live with, considering the alternative of out of control A1C. Plus, I’ve lost 55 pounds."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My wife, Ina, started this med about 2 weeks ago. Just constipated a lot, and another weird side effect is that she went through menopause 2 years ago, and now, since she has been on this drug, she has been having something like a period or bleeding from her vagina. Has anyone else gone through this? I am taking her to her doctor today to get it checked out. Very weird! She has lost about 7 pounds, though, but this morning, she has stomach and gas pains. Is this normal?"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Using this medication for over a year now, and at first, I experienced nausea and an upset stomach until I found that using different parts of the body to inject into may help with that, and bam, nausea gone. I had constipation, which was resolved with 1000 mg of magnesium. In the beginning, at my max dose, I had little appetite and ate to keep from getting low blood sugars. I lost 15 lbs and gained 20 back, but I didn't originally take the medication for weight loss, it was to control my type 2, which it has, so I can’t complain about that. My A1C is better and my blood glucose most days are normal. Now I just have to lose the weight I put on to feel comfortable again, which when I discussed this with my provider, she confirmed some people lose weight and keep it off, others will hit a plateau and gain some back once they hit their max dose."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Mounjaro is good for weight loss as it makes you less hungry and increases your energy levels, but the downside is the side effects, which range from nausea, vomiting, and constipation. It is not a miracle drug, and it is started at a low level and gradually increases, but it's a great kickstart if it's combined with a healthy lifestyle."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been taking Mounjaro for almost three months, increasing the dosage each month according to my doctor's prescriptions due to my Type 2 diabetes. I have experienced dizziness, constipation, lack of appetite, blurry vision, and nausea after eating a meal. None of the side effects I've experienced have been severe enough to warrant discontinuing Mounjaro. My A1C has dropped from 8.5 to 6.3, and I have lost 30+ pounds since starting Mounjaro. I have not experienced diarrhea, vomiting, or pancreatitis. I am pleased with Mounjaro, which has resulted in weight loss and diminishing A1C levels."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I took the 2.5 mg for four weeks, then I did the 5.0 mg for four weeks. I am now taking 7.5 mg. I am taking it for eight weeks. I did the research and studies on what to do. I do not eat fried foods. I do not eat sweet things, especially ice cream, which is my absolute favorite food. I have not been sick. I have not had diarrhea or been constipated. I do not overeat, which is in the instructions. My blood glucose has dropped 30 points. I won't know what my A1C is until I go back to my doctor for a test. My only problem is the cost. So far, I am doing very well on Mounjaro. It is very easy to use."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Prescribed for PCOS and weight loss. Best weight loss drug I have ever been on. No food noise at all, no sugar cravings, and I have started exercising for the first time in a year. Not much appetite, and rarely do I feel nausea, etc. I have lost about 4 kg in about 6 weeks fairly easily. I am eating better on this too, my body seems to want plant-based foods. I used to crave sugar every single day, but on this I am not fussed by it, and when I do eat it, I think it’s out of habit, not because I want it. Tried Saxenda before and lost 10 kg, but I was sick a lot on it. Ozempic made me constipated. This has been the best by far. It is expensive here in Australia at $85 per week for a 5 mg vial, but it has been very worthy it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Just injected my 5th dose of 2.5 mg Mounjaro. T2 for about a decade, but trying to avoid insulin. A1C had been creeping up to the 7s, decided on Mounjaro mostly because the injector pen is not scary. Adding 2.5 mg of Mounjaro made my glucose levels perfect, so now we will titrate up to 5 mg of Mounjaro and down on other meds. Glucose control has been great, smoothing out my resistant morning highs like nothing else. Side effects: crummy. Headaches kick in on days 2-3, and I can't figure out the formula for the constipation, but it is no joke. Hydration and fiber are necessary. The good news is in the 5th week, things are getting better. Headaches are less severe and don't last as long, and bathroom issues are lessening, though not gone. I am part of the unfortunate group that has not lost a single ounce in 5 weeks. My interest in food tends to evaporate as I eat, and I have some almost pica-like cravings for sushi and the darkest chocolate I can find. Time will tell if a higher dose does more for me."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Was started on this medication to lower my A1C. I also have NASH, and within 2 months, it has lowered my ALT and AST to normal levels for the first time in years. I normally run 140ish and 68ish, but now I’m at 20 and 14. My A1C is already down to 6.3, and with my Lupus SLE, my CRPs have dropped significantly. The best part is the food noise has disappeared completely, and I have to now remind myself to eat. I am down about 16 pounds in two months. This medication did initially cause some nausea and constipation but has mostly cleared, except for injection days."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Daily nausea, constipation (drink lots of water and have a stool softener). Decreased weight, 26 lbs in 2 months at the lowest dosage. Decreased A1C by 2 points. I do recommend this for anyone trying to improve their A1C and lose some weight."

"I noticed almost immediately that my cravings were really reduced. I believe I started taking this medicine about 2 months ago and I'm down 21 lbs. About the same time I started Mounjaro, I enrolled in a program that lowered blood sugars, blood pressure, and weight loss. I also log everything I eat and send it to a coach. I'm hoping that this program will keep me eating healthy. The only problem I had taking Mounjaro was with constipation."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I just started 7.5, and am cold a lot. Some nausea and constipation experienced. I manage the constipation with Miralax and stool softeners. My A1C is down from 8.3 to 6.5 at last check. I was without the meds for better than a month, and my blood sugars started rising to the point that I restarted insulin. My hope is that by week 2 that I can reduce or cut insulin out. I've only lost 9.9 lbs, but I'm happy for any weight loss. I think I'll need to be on this medicine for life, but in smaller, less frequent doses."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Mounjaro for 5 months and have lost around 36 pounds so far. I was placed on it because I had high liver counts, steatosis, and pre-diabetes and was unable to exercise due to a severe case of plantar fasciitis and back and neck injuries. I started on the lowest dose and raised it to 5mg a month later, and due to a national shortage of 7.5mg, remained on the 5mg. I lost 11 pounds the first month and around 5 to 8 pounds each month after that. I feel good and have a little more energy. As far as side effects, I have had a little constipation and indigestion at times. But as long as I drank 8 to 11 cups of water a day and didn't eat high-fat fried food or sugar/sweet things, I do well. I have no complaints other than not being able to get the higher dosage because the weight loss has slowed down. Easy to inject myself also."

For Type 2 Diabetes "The nausea and bloated stomach I experienced during the first few days are awful. I have increased my dosage to 10 mg now, and 7.5 mg was not as severe. However, I never feel good at all. Each day is better than the previous one, but I never reach a state of feeling 'good' or 'great.' I have also developed sores in my mouth, and I'm not sure if it is related. My tongue feels as though it has been sandpapered. Additionally, constipation is simply terrible. On the positive side, I do appreciate not having constant thoughts about food. Unfortunately, I haven't lost much weight, which was one of the side effects I was hoping for. Taking the injections is easy for me. However, I really wish someone could assure me that if I continue taking this medication long-term, these unpleasant side effects will eventually go away. To alleviate the nausea, I have tried ginger hard sugar-free candies. I genuinely want this treatment to work for me, but three months of feeling unwell is taking its toll. If I had been losing weight, I would at least see some benefit. On a positive note, my A1c has decreased to 6.5. However, I hate feeling sick all the time."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am in my 8th week of Mounjaro for weight loss and have lost approximately 20 lbs. Some of the side effects I have had are constipation, rash, and itching at the injection site, and most recently, sweet-smelling urine."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I had initial nausea for about the first 4 weeks, then just intermittent after. I feel I was not getting in enough calories at the time. My appetite has greatly diminished, but I eat smaller, healthy meals more frequently. I have had a 70+ lb weight loss in the last year, and I am still losing. I have had constipation and diarrhea, but not frequently. Drinking enough liquids is essential. I have experienced some rashes with itching, but they are controlled with OTC meds of Benadryl and Pepcid. Good luck on your journey, everyone. Take it a day at a time!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Mounjaro since Sep 2022. I started off with the 2.5 mg for about a month with no issues. My provider then moved me to 5 mg in October. Once again, no issues, and I started losing weight. 15 lbs in about 6 weeks. I was then moved up to 7.5 mg in November and have been miserable ever since. I have no appetite, severe constipation, major headaches, and vomiting, and I am now having issues with low blood pressure (causing lightheadedness, dizziness, and vision issues), which I believe is being caused by my never wanting to eat or drink anything. I have informed my provider of this, and she is now wanting to send me to a cardiologist to make sure my heart is working properly. She has also decided to lower my dosage back to 5 mg. I am hoping this change helps because so far, my type 2 diabetes is under control, and my sugars have been fantastic!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Mounjaro has really helped keep my A1C at 7 or below. However, I am also obese and even though I have slowly gone up from 2.5 to 12.5, I have not lost any weight. I also have IBS with constipation, every time I increase dosage, I have terrible cramping and constipation. I have become completely dependent on a combination of laxatives, stool softeners, and fiber powder to be able to even have a stool. In the meantime, it really limits my day-to-day activities. I am active for a 61-year-old woman with neuropathy in her feet. I would love to lose some weight. Everyone I know who has used it has lost up to 50 pounds. I am overall happy with the fact that it is controlling my A1C. I was about to have to use insulin, so I'm happy I don't have to do that. I am also happy that it has slowed the progression of my kidney disease."

"'This medication is a miracle. I’m a 53-year-old female. I never had a problem with my weight until after the age of 45. During COVID, I gained 30 pounds and got up to 170. I was exercising regularly and trying to eat healthy, but could not lose any weight. I started Mounjaro and lost 10 pounds the first month. I had very few side effects. The only thing I experienced was constipation. Once I became used to the medication, I realized that my neck tension and migraines were gone. I’ve been on the medication for 6 months, taking only every other month, and have lost a total of 40 pounds. I’m now at 134 pounds. My goal weight is 130. I feel AMAZING. This medication has been life-changing. I've not only lost weight, but it also regulates my fatty kidney, taken away migraines, and helped with anxiety."
