For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Daily nausea, constipation (drink lots of water and have a stool softener). Decreased weight, 26 lbs in 2 months at the lowest dosage. Decreased A1C by 2 points. I do recommend this for anyone trying to improve their A1C and lose some weight."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Just injected my 5th dose of 2.5 mg Mounjaro. T2 for about a decade, but trying to avoid insulin. A1C had been creeping up to the 7s, decided on Mounjaro mostly because the injector pen is not scary. Adding 2.5 mg of Mounjaro made my glucose levels perfect, so now we will titrate up to 5 mg of Mounjaro and down on other meds. Glucose control has been great, smoothing out my resistant morning highs like nothing else. Side effects: crummy. Headaches kick in on days 2-3, and I can't figure out the formula for the constipation, but it is no joke. Hydration and fiber are necessary. The good news is in the 5th week, things are getting better. Headaches are less severe and don't last as long, and bathroom issues are lessening, though not gone. I am part of the unfortunate group that has not lost a single ounce in 5 weeks. My interest in food tends to evaporate as I eat, and I have some almost pica-like cravings for sushi and the darkest chocolate I can find. Time will tell if a higher dose does more for me."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Was started on this medication to lower my A1C. I also have NASH, and within 2 months, it has lowered my ALT and AST to normal levels for the first time in years. I normally run 140ish and 68ish, but now I’m at 20 and 14. My A1C is already down to 6.3, and with my Lupus SLE, my CRPs have dropped significantly. The best part is the food noise has disappeared completely, and I have to now remind myself to eat. I am down about 16 pounds in two months. This medication did initially cause some nausea and constipation but has mostly cleared, except for injection days."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started on 5 units, then 7.5, now 10 units. I mostly experience dizziness when getting up. Almost passing out sometimes. Weight loss and constipation. It does reduce my A1C and keeps my sugar regulated."

"I noticed almost immediately that my cravings were really reduced. I believe I started taking this medicine about 2 months ago and I'm down 21 lbs. About the same time I started Mounjaro, I enrolled in a program that lowered blood sugars, blood pressure, and weight loss. I also log everything I eat and send it to a coach. I'm hoping that this program will keep me eating healthy. The only problem I had taking Mounjaro was with constipation."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I just started 7.5, and am cold a lot. Some nausea and constipation experienced. I manage the constipation with Miralax and stool softeners. My A1C is down from 8.3 to 6.5 at last check. I was without the meds for better than a month, and my blood sugars started rising to the point that I restarted insulin. My hope is that by week 2 that I can reduce or cut insulin out. I've only lost 9.9 lbs, but I'm happy for any weight loss. I think I'll need to be on this medicine for life, but in smaller, less frequent doses."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Mounjaro for 5 months and have lost around 36 pounds so far. I was placed on it because I had high liver counts, steatosis, and pre-diabetes and was unable to exercise due to a severe case of plantar fasciitis and back and neck injuries. I started on the lowest dose and raised it to 5mg a month later, and due to a national shortage of 7.5mg, remained on the 5mg. I lost 11 pounds the first month and around 5 to 8 pounds each month after that. I feel good and have a little more energy. As far as side effects, I have had a little constipation and indigestion at times. But as long as I drank 8 to 11 cups of water a day and didn't eat high-fat fried food or sugar/sweet things, I do well. I have no complaints other than not being able to get the higher dosage because the weight loss has slowed down. Easy to inject myself also."

For Type 2 Diabetes "The nausea and bloated stomach I experienced during the first few days are awful. I have increased my dosage to 10 mg now, and 7.5 mg was not as severe. However, I never feel good at all. Each day is better than the previous one, but I never reach a state of feeling 'good' or 'great.' I have also developed sores in my mouth, and I'm not sure if it is related. My tongue feels as though it has been sandpapered. Additionally, constipation is simply terrible. On the positive side, I do appreciate not having constant thoughts about food. Unfortunately, I haven't lost much weight, which was one of the side effects I was hoping for. Taking the injections is easy for me. However, I really wish someone could assure me that if I continue taking this medication long-term, these unpleasant side effects will eventually go away. To alleviate the nausea, I have tried ginger hard sugar-free candies. I genuinely want this treatment to work for me, but three months of feeling unwell is taking its toll. If I had been losing weight, I would at least see some benefit. On a positive note, my A1c has decreased to 6.5. However, I hate feeling sick all the time."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am in my 8th week of Mounjaro for weight loss and have lost approximately 20 lbs. Some of the side effects I have had are constipation, rash, and itching at the injection site, and most recently, sweet-smelling urine."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been taking Mounjaro for almost three months, increasing the dosage each month according to my doctor's prescriptions due to my Type 2 diabetes. I have experienced dizziness, constipation, lack of appetite, blurry vision, and nausea after eating a meal. None of the side effects I've experienced have been severe enough to warrant discontinuing Mounjaro. My A1C has dropped from 8.5 to 6.3, and I have lost 30+ pounds since starting Mounjaro. I have not experienced diarrhea, vomiting, or pancreatitis. I am pleased with Mounjaro, which has resulted in weight loss and diminishing A1C levels."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Mounjaro since Sep 2022. I started off with the 2.5 mg for about a month with no issues. My provider then moved me to 5 mg in October. Once again, no issues, and I started losing weight. 15 lbs in about 6 weeks. I was then moved up to 7.5 mg in November and have been miserable ever since. I have no appetite, severe constipation, major headaches, and vomiting, and I am now having issues with low blood pressure (causing lightheadedness, dizziness, and vision issues), which I believe is being caused by my never wanting to eat or drink anything. I have informed my provider of this, and she is now wanting to send me to a cardiologist to make sure my heart is working properly. She has also decided to lower my dosage back to 5 mg. I am hoping this change helps because so far, my type 2 diabetes is under control, and my sugars have been fantastic!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Been on Mounjaro since April 24. Started on 5 mg because I was on Trulicity, which gave me severe stomach pains. Was on 10 mg before weight loss started. I’m 5’0, lost 46 lbs, and A1C is 5.8. I now take 7.5 mg to avoid more weight loss. Hoping this will be my maintenance dose. Had very mild side effects initially, now just a little constipated, but coffee cures that. Feel better about myself. Very happy. Wish this came out years ago. Been diabetic since 42. Was unable to control both for a long time. Now I’m 68, and Mounjaro has made a believer out of me. I tell everyone about it that will listen. It affects everyone differently, so don’t always listen to the naysayers. Try for yourself."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Rybelsus, Trulicity, and Ozempic with minimal results both on A1C and weight loss, and lots of stomach issues. Presently on Mounjaro 10 mg for the past year, having gradually increased dosage along the way. Side effects are constipation, and approximately every three weeks I'll have an episode of stomach pain, sulfur burps, and vomiting. It's usually in the middle of the night, throwing up dinner and anything else eaten that day, sitting on my stomach all day. Vomiting, severe sweating, chills. After that, it passes, and I feel perfectly fine until weeks later it happens again. I can tolerate this side effect, and A1C is much better."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Been taking 2.5 ml for only 3 weeks now but have lost nearly 6 kg. I had one mouth ulcer the first week and one the second but none since, so possibly not related. The beginnings of constipation this week, but I increased my fiber intake, and I am now fine. No stomach cramping, but I was recommended to take a magnesium supplement before starting Mounjaro to head those off. I continue to take it. No cramping so far. No other symptoms. I do have Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, high cholesterol, and fatty liver disease. I simply had to lose weight. I have given up smoking 3 times in the past 4 years and gained 10 kg every time. (I don't smoke now.) I am 59. This medication is saving my life. If I lose weight again this week, I will stay on the low dose for another month. Appetite suppression has been very strong since week 1. The KWIK pen is so simple and pain-free. I live in Australia."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking medication for 16 weeks and lost 35 lbs. I have had some problems with stomach issues, but they come and go. I have had some constipation and diarrhea with the increase and the start of taking the medication. Sometimes it can be bad, but for the most part, I feel like the med is working."

"As a T1 diabetic, with insulin resistance, this has been a miracle for me. My long-acting went from 120u to 64, and my short from 35 to 10-20 with meals. The overall physical relief has been life-changing. That said, I first had diarrhea and nausea. This was mostly day 1-3, and passed after the first couple of months. The gas, bloating, and belching are insane-Gas-X helps. Also, day one I had a metallic taste and bone-chilling cold. After almost 2 years of use, the worst side effect is constipation and gas. The biggest problem is availability. I've spent the last 8 months mostly unable to locate my 15 mg dosage-every single month, literally 6-8 hours on the phone trying to find anything. Driving as far as 100 miles from home. One month having to get 2 boxes of 5, which I had to pay retail for box 2. Several times being unable to locate more than 7.5. Pharmacies refusing to sell it to new patients. It's been an absolute nightmare for me."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "My experience has been mostly positive, its efficacy has only just become apparent since beginning the 10 mg level, though. Even though I enjoy a high-fiber diet with nuts and seeds, constipation is a negative regarding Mounjaro, though. I am happy to eat mostly cheese, eggs, tomatoes, peppers, and a great deal of natural Greek yogurt. I would normally eat more fruit and veg, and usually would enjoy whole wheat bread sandwiches, but I simply can't eat what I don't fancy. I will say that my weight loss has been very slow with Mounjaro, perhaps this is not a bad thing in some respects. However, I must add that there was a period when I gained weight. I have had no unpleasant side effects whatsoever. Re: Ease of use, my daughter comes to my home to inject me. Prior to Mounjaro, I used Wegovy, which was effective for a time."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been taking Mounjaro since December 2022, beginning with the lowest dose of 2.5 mg, and increasing to 5 mg, briefly going to 7.5 mg, and currently back at 5 mg. Anyway, I had already made huge changes to my diet and reduced my insulin, but couldn’t quite get my glucose levels where I wanted them. For the most part, it’s been great. I’m now off all other diabetic medication, including insulin, and am able to keep my blood sugars within range. I have some issues with constipation and definitely need to use a little help to keep things moving. Occasionally, I have a headache for several hours after injecting. I have gotten a little bit of a sour stomach after some meals, but not bad. I have lost a little weight, not a lot, but I’m not in a hurry to lose. I think I’d probably lose more at a higher dose. My last HbA1c was 5.3, and I would like to get it lower. I had more stomach trouble at the higher dose. I'm glad that I’m on it. An injection once a week is better than daily."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I occasionally experience nausea, but my main concern is constipation. On the day of my injection, I sometimes feel tired, and I also develop a rash around the injection site for approximately three days until the irritation subsides. However, apart from these issues, the medication works wonders in controlling my A1C and blood sugar levels. Additionally, the drug aids in weight loss, which is a welcome bonus. I believe it also provides me with some energy, as I have been able to maintain a regular exercise routine."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was on Mounjaro for 6 months. The highest dose I reached was 5.0 mg. I lost 45 pounds. Went from an 18 to a 12. My A1C is now 5.2 and started at 10.4. Now not so good. Constipation. I had to take a stool softener every day. Had to force myself to eat. Low blood sugar readings. My doctor and I feel I have reached my maximum benefit and have decided to stop Mounjaro. It's been about 10 days and no change."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Just took the first 7.5 mg dose. This is week 9 as I started with 2.5 mg, then 4 mg for 4 weeks. I started at 283 lbs. Now about 270 lbs. Symptoms were constipation for the first few days, and as the strength increased, so did the nausea. Never got unbearable, and the doctor prescribed meds to take when it gets intense, usually the day after the injection. Definitely curbs appetite and makes you feel full faster. Haven't done any exercise other than normal routine mobility. Had two A1c over 6.5 before I started and haven't had blood work since. I am 64 years old and have heart disease, prostate issues, sleep apnea, and high blood pressure, among other things, so getting my weight down is no longer an option but a necessity."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking Mounjaro for 3 months. At first, I was taking a low dose that was not working. So now, I take a 7:5 dose and it is working, but recently I am experiencing side effects like nausea, diarrhea, and bad constipation. The injection is working as I have lost weight. I was 296 pounds, and now I am down to 270 pounds. However, I don't know if I should continue the injection because of the side effects. Need help badly."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I took the 2.5 mg for four weeks, then I did the 5.0 mg for four weeks. I am now taking 7.5 mg. I am taking it for eight weeks. I did the research and studies on what to do. I do not eat fried foods. I do not eat sweet things, especially ice cream, which is my absolute favorite food. I have not been sick. I have not had diarrhea or been constipated. I do not overeat, which is in the instructions. My blood glucose has dropped 30 points. I won't know what my A1C is until I go back to my doctor for a test. My only problem is the cost. So far, I am doing very well on Mounjaro. It is very easy to use."
