For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "After 2 months, I'm now on 5 mg, which seems okay, but my biggest issue is drinking enough water or water-based fluids. Yes, constipation has twice been pretty horrible. I started out weighing 95 kg and am now down to 87, which I'm happy with. I don't know if I wish to increase the dosage while it works fine for me at 5 mg. Initially, I had a lot of heartburn at night, but that's passed. I really do make sure I eat small portions, but of quality and a mix of protein and fiber. Breakfast is much nearer lunchtime as I'm just not hungry, but I will eat properly and again in the evening. I don't think I could manage 3 meals a day. I can't exercise as I suffer from peripheral neuropathy, and even walking is a trial. I need to do weight training really, as I'm in my 70s and need strength to face what comes with old age."

For Type 2 Diabetes "It’s been 2 years. Yes, there were challenges. Some nausea. Lot’s of constipation. Some fatigue. And mostly good aversion. I understand fully the phrase eat to live. This medication was/is a game changer for long-time diabetes sufferers. I lost 50 pounds. Got off of insulin shots. Cholesterol meds. BP meds. I am over 60 years old and feel better than I did at 40. I would rate my experience on Mounjaro on a scale from 1-10, a solid 10. Everyone’s journey is unique, based on many different factors. I would rate my journey as successful."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Mounjaro for 9 weeks. I had to jump from 5 to 10 mg last week due to shortage issues. I am having several problems with severe bloating, constipation, headache, and stomach pain. I have severe gas that keeps me up most of the night and can be a sign of impending intermittent diarrhea at times. I am always full and started pushing myself to eat as I can go all day with nothing. Now I have small welts and itching at injection sites. Total weight loss: “0.” My blood sugar is higher, especially in the morning. This drug is horrible, and I won’t put my body through it anymore. I can lose weight easier and healthier than this since it ruined my Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. I was so excited to try it and had hope. I’m thankful for all those who are benefiting from it. Good luck to all. It just wasn’t for me."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "You do lose weight, but the waves of nausea, vomiting, severe constipation, and hypoglycemia are so unpleasant, and if you escalate and find it too much - it lasts for a whole week. Consider liraglutide daily, much easier to titrate, and if you escalate and find it too much, you can lower down and only have one day of downtime."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I had previously been on Trulicity, and the doctor switched me to Mounjaro since I have so much extra weight on me. He started me on the 5 mg pen since I had already been on Trulicity. I lost minimal weight on Trulicity. Some, but not enough to say it's awesome. The only side effect I've had on Mounjaro is occasional constipation/reflux, which is manageable. Maybe it is because I got past/thru all the nasty side effects while on Trulicity, and that minimized the effects of Mounjaro? I feel bad for all those that have had adverse effects on Mounjaro. I have lost about 10 pounds so far in just over 2 weeks, and I can tell a HUGE difference in my appetite. I mean HUGE. I'm not hungry like I used to be. In fact, this drug curbs my appetite SO much, that I have to force myself to eat sometimes, and in having to do that, it makes me instinctively want to eat more healthy food. This drug has helped with weight loss, and I am excited to see how much I will lose and get my A1C down."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am overweight and was sent to an endocrinologist by my PCP. A1C came back 6.9, and I received the dreaded diabetes diagnosis. The endocrinologist asked me about my eating habits and suggested Mounjaro once a week injection. Sceptical I was, but I was willing to try to get my weight down and get my A1C down. First injection, no severe vomiting or anything. The only side effect I had was the constipation, I was put on a stool softener and take fiber daily, which eliminated that side effect. Within two months, I was down 15 pounds, have not given in to eating a Boston crème doughnut, on which I tend to binge, limited on my intake of food because overindulging makes me feel lousy and gives me indigestion. Within three months, my A1C is down to 5.3, and my weight is still going down. Thank you so much to the researchers who created this drug because it has saved my life and gotten me on the road to better health. The needle doesn't even hurt when I self-inject. I am grateful."

For Type 2 Diabetes "In November 2022, my ACI was 7.4%, and I weighed 258 pounds at 67 years old. The wake-up call was when I renewed my life insurance, a big jump in premium due to the AC1 and weight. I was now tagged as a Type 2 Diabetic. I was referred to an endocrinologist who did extensive blood work. It was agreed to go on Mounjaro 2.5 mg. The first week I suffered some side effects such as nausea, constipation, and acid burps. Within 10 days, the symptoms subsided due to stool softeners, lots of fruit (berries), and Nexium. The first month I dropped 10 pounds with no dieting, just was not hungry at all. I had no cravings, especially for sweets like cookies, donuts, and candy-all things that I used to eat. Fast forward to March 2023, I am down to 217 pounds and 20 more to go. I am now on Mounjaro 10 mg, it's a bit strong, but the results are fantastic. My AC1 is now 5.6%, which is fantastic. The bad news is nothing fits- all new suits for the spring."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve been taking Mounjaro now for 4 months. I was prescribed it to treat my type 2 diabetes as well as for weight loss. Let me just say this drug has been a miracle! I started out at 268 lbs (5 ft 6 in male), I am now at 225 lbs! Over 40 pounds in 4 months! The only other weight loss program that helped me like this was the military! Now let me just say it’s not all Mounjaro, I’ve changed my eating habits and changed what foods I’m actually eating, and boom, working like a dream. My A1C has also dropped from 7.5% to 5.8%, this drug is an amazing stepping stone to a healthier life. The only side effects I’ve experienced since starting are loss of appetite and constipation, not too bad in my opinion!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "My doc insisted that I give this med a shot. My A1c was just over 7, but I am 59, 6’, and hit my heaviest weight in my life of 283.3 lbs on July 3, 2024. I started taking the 2.5 mg on July 12, 2024, and 3 months later, now at the 7.5 mg dose, I have lost 33 lbs! I do get acid reflux if I overeat (I still love food) and constipation if I don’t drink enough water, but otherwise, every Monday I give myself a shot - tired for a day and then back to normal. I had tried in the past to shed a few pounds, but nothing ever worked, so I had learned to live with it. This is some magic potion in the form of science that is giving me my life back. My goal is 225 lbs by the end of 2024 and 200 lbs in 2025. Biggest problem is my pants no longer fit!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Minimal weight loss in 5 weeks. Continual feeling of acidic stomach, some reflux. Constipation if not taking a stool softener. It has decreased my appetite. It also lets me know if I eat a food high in flour or sugar with severe acid reflux. Overall, I feel miserable while on it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I tried to leave a review, but for some reason, it wasn't posted, so I will try again. My doctor took me off of Mounjaro recently. I developed large welts about 24 hours after I injected the 75 doses and 10. My doctor fears I am developing an allergic reaction, so I am going back to the rival insulin alternative. (I had more side effects with the Ozempic: exhaustion, extreme nausea, and constipation, but hopefully, over time, they go away this time.) Too bad, because I really wanted to stay on Mounjaro. It should be noted that I really like Mounjaro very much. Well-controlled sugar, once I was on my maintenance dose of 10. For some reason, I gained five pounds while on Mounjaro, I never lost weight, where I lost about 15 pounds on the other mentioned insulin alternative. It seems that other patients on other review sites have this welt issue too. The issue should be reported not only to the doctor, but per the request of the manufacturer, please report to them as well."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started on 2.5 for 4 weeks, lost 4.5 kg, forgot to eat, total loss of appetite, felt dizzy, probably because I wasn't drinking enough water. Week 5, went to 5 mg, lost just over 1 kg. Now in week 6, have been constipated, having to take laxative, will finish the 5 mg jab another 2 weeks and see how I feel. Amazing result in never hungry and, as a crisp lover, could never have another packet with all the salt, yuk! Usually have chicken fillets, chips, and bread and butter, just don't want bread at all, can only have two small chicken pieces, nothing else, and only because I know I have to eat something. Went to McDonald's with the grandkids, haven't told anyone I'm on this drug. Kids were happy as Nana couldn't finish her burger and chips. Have started craving fruit, which I never eat, will try and carry on and see if I can be sensible."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started this 7 weeks ago and have one more injection. The first set was at 2.5 mg from the gynecologist. Within the first week, I lost 5 pounds and by week 5 I saw a huge difference! I went from a 22 waist to a true size 18 and still shrinking. I was having trouble catching my breath before I started this. I had a couple of pains in my stomach, similar to gas pains like clockwork, the day after the injection. But it was bearable. Sometimes I get a smelly burp issue. But now I have lost 20 pounds at week 7 and feel amazing. Please do yourself a favor and take fiber daily, this medicine will get you constipated."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Went to the doctor and asked for something to help lose weight. He prescribed this medication. Day 1 and 2... nothing. Day 3 woke up with horrible heartburn and sour sulfur burps and facts and was constipated. By day 3 evening, I no longer had constipation but just the opposite... diarrhea! And not just any kind, it was like yellow water and very acidic. It hurt! Had horrible gas and belching all day Saturday, and Sunday couldn't hardly leave the bathroom to go buy Imodium. Imodium helped with that, but the gas is now trapped, and my stomach hurts badly, and I am full of gas with bad heartburn and belching. I saw a correlation between fatty foods and severe side effects of this product. But unless you're a vegan, you eat fat, and that's a major problem with this product. It is now Monday night, and I cannot seem to get my work done, I hurt so badly. I will never take this product again, and I cannot in good conscience recommend it with all the terrible side effects. Shame on Mounjaro!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started on the 2.5 dose in October, my doctor felt that the weight loss would help with my joint pain and lower my A1C. From day 1, I was extremely nauseous, had no desire to eat, had sulfur burps, and had constipation. I spoke with my doctor, who encouraged me to ride it out. On week four, I was stepped up to the 5 mg dosage. The doctor called in Zofran for stomach issues. On week six, I called her and said I could no longer function. During this time, I was so fatigued and was having heart palpitations and was barely able to walk 20 feet without being totally exhausted. I chalked it up to being so nauseous and not eating. Then my legs started to burn like I had walked up a steep hill and felt so sore and bruised I could barely sit. That week, I had my follow-up appointment with my doctor. I told her about my symptoms, and she said that rhabdomyolysis is not a side effect of Mounjaro. I was never dehydrated, but my CK levels were still 440 two weeks off the medication! Eight weeks later, and no improvement!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "While Mounjaro significantly reduces appetite and food noise, it creates gastric distress and constipation. I feel sick most of the time. I've lost 5 lbs a month consistently for 6 months. I have used Mounjaro, not a substitute compounded version."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was using Ozempic, but Dr. switched to Mounjaro. It has been terrible! I lost a lot of weight on Ozempic but gained some back since being on Mounjaro. Also, my blood sugar rose 10-15 points since switching! I have had numerous side effects, mainly headaches and constipation. When giving it, it always seems to leak back out of my skin, and I've tried stomach, arms, thighs- all the same! I am not happy."

For Type 2 Diabetes "3.5 months from 2.5 mg to 5.0 mg. Even before starting 7.5 mg, my experience has been positive. Less stressful, as if my cortisol levels are low. No desire to drink alcoholic beverages. Appetite suppressed, loss of inches before any noticeable weight loss. Slow loss of excess weight. PCOS symptoms have mostly disappeared, however, when refills were not available, all symptoms almost immediately presented again, including desire to snack. Constipation is noticeable at 5.0 mg. Starting 7.5 mg now. 22 lb of excess weight lost after 3.5 months of use."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been on Mounjaro for over two years. I'm part of a study for mortality and morbidity for clients with risk for heart attacks. Criteria included obesity, high cholesterol, and HTN. Within six weeks of starting Mounjaro, I was off my BP medication. Over the first year, I lost 70 pounds. The side effects that I experienced early on were indigestion and belching. That resolved after about three months. The biggest side effect for me is constipation. Learning how to manage constipation is important. My Mounjaro is on hold now because of extremely elevated amylase and lipase 10 times the normal level. I was asymptomatic for nausea, vomiting, or abdominal pain, which I'm thankful for. While I've been off for over a month, my digestive enzymes have normalized, and my pancreas appears normal via ultrasound. However, I'm anxious to get back on Mounjaro, perhaps at half the dose 7.5 mg because I again am having food cravings, I feel hungry all the time, and have gained about 10 pounds off the medicine. I believe the side effects for me are less worrisome."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started the medication in November of last year. I started with 5 mg and incrementally increased the dosage up to 15 mg. The small hypodermic needle made it easy to inject. At 10 mg, I reached a plateau with the weight loss. I eventually went up to 15 mg and stayed on that dose for 2 months. The primary reason for taking it was for type 2 diabetes, and I benefited from weight loss as I was also overweight. As of today, I have lost 35 lbs but stopped the Mounjaro about a month ago. My appetite seemed to slowly get back to normal, which is not a good thing. I also did intermittent fasting, so that helped a lot with the cravings, etc. I also get some bouts of constipation, but my diet made up for that. My urine smelled different. I pray there were no effects on my kidneys. My blood sugars are normal. My A1C is 5.2, so I chose to stop the medication and continue the weight loss journey naturally."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Been taking 2.5 ml for only 3 weeks now but have lost nearly 6 kg. I had one mouth ulcer the first week and one the second but none since, so possibly not related. The beginnings of constipation this week, but I increased my fiber intake, and I am now fine. No stomach cramping, but I was recommended to take a magnesium supplement before starting Mounjaro to head those off. I continue to take it. No cramping so far. No other symptoms. I do have Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, high cholesterol, and fatty liver disease. I simply had to lose weight. I have given up smoking 3 times in the past 4 years and gained 10 kg every time. (I don't smoke now.) I am 59. This medication is saving my life. If I lose weight again this week, I will stay on the low dose for another month. Appetite suppression has been very strong since week 1. The KWIK pen is so simple and pain-free. I live in Australia."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Benefits: Completely stopped the food noise and cravings for fatty and sweet foods, decreased appetite within the first 2 days of injection. Injection not painful at all, tiny needle. Side effects: feelings of fatigue for 2 or 3 days after injection, can feel very bloated due to constipation. Feelings of a lump in the throat due to some acid reflux. Sometimes feel more emotional than normal. Increased periods, 2 periods within 1 month, very heavy and prolonged, appetite increased slightly on last 2 days before next injection due. Can feel shaky/weak if not eating enough calories due to decreased appetite. 1st month of use experience on 2.5 mg."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "52 years old, 5 ft 6 inches, female, gave birth naturally to 6 children, all now adults. Started in October 2024 at 91.4 kgs, waist at 104 cm, wearing size 14-16 clothes (Australian sizes). I read all the reviews (about 500) before I started and chose to mitigate adverse reactions: (ONLY Bioceuticals brands) I took powdered magnesium 3 times a week for muscle health, daily live probiotics for gut health, daily prebiome fiber in smooth and creamy Greek yogurt with berries and prunes for bowel health. Drank lots of water and ate smaller portions for dinner at about 5 pm. I don’t have time for exercise (although I had just done a whole year of 3 x personal training a week prior to starting MJO - only losing 4 kgs!). Fast forward to June 2025, I currently weigh… drum roll… 68 kgs! My waist is now 79 cms, my upper arms have lost 6 cms, hips lost 14 cms. I am wearing size 10-12 and cannot be happier! Only occasionally did I get dizzy or constipated."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This medication has been life-changing. Started with 2.5 mg and now at 5 mg. A bit of constipation and nausea, but nothing major. I started at 288 lbs and now at 236 lbs. I am a male, 5’11”. I hope I can get to my goal of 190 lbs in a few months. Working out, walking, and avoiding carbs is key. No fried foods or heavy carb meals, or you will pay a price. Lots of protein, lean meats, and veggies/berries. Good luck, everyone."
