For Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking Mounjaro on 9/1. This resulted in the very worst month of my life. WEEK ONE - Super Nauseous, indigestion, stomach pain for 3-4 days of the first week. My appetite went from a 10 to a 2 (which was good). WEEK TWO - I had diarrhea for 3-4 days, along with sulfur belches, nausea, stomach pain. I ended up having to take sick days and go get an IV bag to recover from the dehydration. WEEK THREE - World-class nausea and vomiting. 3 days of vomiting so hard that I ruptured my esophagus. The entire month, if I was not having diarrhea, I was VERY constipated. I lost 9 lbs in one month, but I don't know if it was because I could barely eat due to the sickness. PASS!!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Mounjaro for 9 weeks. I had to jump from 5 to 10 mg last week due to shortage issues. I am having several problems with severe bloating, constipation, headache, and stomach pain. I have severe gas that keeps me up most of the night and can be a sign of impending intermittent diarrhea at times. I am always full and started pushing myself to eat as I can go all day with nothing. Now I have small welts and itching at injection sites. Total weight loss: “0.” My blood sugar is higher, especially in the morning. This drug is horrible, and I won’t put my body through it anymore. I can lose weight easier and healthier than this since it ruined my Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. I was so excited to try it and had hope. I’m thankful for all those who are benefiting from it. Good luck to all. It just wasn’t for me."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Ozempic 2 mg since it came out. When I couldn't get it due to shortage, I was prescribed Mounjaro 5 mg. Five days after eating my one meal a day, I intermittent fast, and I started vomiting. I spent the whole night throwing up every half hour. I figured it was a side effect and hoped I would improve. I had stomach and back pain, weakness, and was unable to eat. I was in bed until I had to get up and sit due to pain, sleeping off and on. I could only drink water. I got worse and finally, five days later, had my husband drive me to the ER. I know I should have gone sooner. I didn't take a second shot. I had a CAT scan and was told I had a bowel obstruction, and I would be admitted and there for a few days. If they couldn't resolve it through a tube down my nose, I would have surgery. Luckily, it was resolved by the nasal tube, but it was awful. My medical care pharmacist told me to try Mounjaro 2.5 mg. I was worried but did it. I didn't get nausea, but I had all these other side effects. I quit taking it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started on a 2.5 mg dose for 30 days and had nothing positive or negative. The doctor increased it to 12.5 mg, and my appetite went to zero, stomach pain, throw-up, diarrhea, general nausea, and ill feeling, but did lose 15 lbs in 3 weeks, and my blood labs were near perfect. I was ready to quit until I saw this. The second month, my appetite came back slightly, and I learned to eat less and cleaner so it wouldn’t make me throw up, lost another 15 lbs, and it excited me to get back in the gym daily. Since the drug slows your digestion, it slows the bowel too, which gave me insane constipation and made sure I eat enough fiber daily. At first, the side effects are hell, but stick with it as they only lasted a month, then your body adjusts and you learn how to eat and work with it. The end results are worth it. It's been 9 months, and I have lost 35 lbs, labs are excellent, and for the first time, I have seen glucose under 100 in 30 years."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started this 7 weeks ago and have one more injection. The first set was at 2.5 mg from the gynecologist. Within the first week, I lost 5 pounds and by week 5 I saw a huge difference! I went from a 22 waist to a true size 18 and still shrinking. I was having trouble catching my breath before I started this. I had a couple of pains in my stomach, similar to gas pains like clockwork, the day after the injection. But it was bearable. Sometimes I get a smelly burp issue. But now I have lost 20 pounds at week 7 and feel amazing. Please do yourself a favor and take fiber daily, this medicine will get you constipated."

For Type 2 Diabetes "In the two doses, my blood sugar has been lower, my appetite has diminished, and I had no side effects. At the end of the second week (Saturday), I woke up during the night with stomach pain, diarrhea, and belching. After 6 hours, I finally vomited up undigested food that had been in my stomach for over 12 hours. It looked like I had just eaten. I avoided all food until Sunday morning, eating 1/2 of a plain English muffin. I had Lipton chicken soup, a piece of Bavarian pretzel, and a few french fries (picking from my wife’s meal). Monday, I finally felt hungry and had a Whopper Jr. (not a good choice I know), and Tuesday I woke up with food sitting in my stomach and one diarrhea BM. NOTE: I have not taken dose #3, nor do I plan to. This is slowing my digestion down too much. I have never had digestive issues, and I’m not going to start now."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have only lost 5 pounds in 2 months. It has severely decreased my appetite and occasionally caused nausea and stomach pain. I expected to lose more and more quickly than I have. Could not tolerate the severe nausea from Ozempic, so I switched to Mounjaro."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Mounjaro has helped me bring down my A1C. I'm only on a relatively low dose, but I am experiencing troubling side effects: stomach pain, indigestion, nausea, fatigue. I have the side effects mostly a day or two after the injection. I noticed a slight weight loss at first, but I think I gained the weight back somehow."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been a type 2 diabetic for about 15 years. Worked hard to bring my A1c down with carb reduction and exercise. I track my 24-hour average glucose twice a day when I take my medications and track that number in a spreadsheet. I use a CGM. With the very first injection, I was able to detect a noticeable drop in my glucose numbers within 5 hours of the first injection. My 24-hour average glucose reading has dropped from 140 mg/dL to 110 mg/dL partway through the 2nd injection. I have not seen my glucose readings this good in years. My current tracking spreadsheet goes back to May of 2024. The doctor suggested this drug to see if weight loss induction might occur and help me become strictly diet controlled. During the first 2 weeks, I have been able to eliminate extended-release metformin from my medications. Some mild stomach pain and belching were initially present, but those have passed."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started using Mounjaro in March 2023, with a 2.5 mg dose, for weight loss. I shifted to 5 mg after 2 weeks; I stayed with each dose for around 2-3 months. I lost 10 kg by August (6 mo.). I had a freeze in weight loss for 5 weeks, then I lost 1.8 kg in 2 weeks when I took 10 mg. In terms of side effects, I experienced them during the first weeks of every upgrade in dose; like nausea and sometimes vomiting, headache, stomach pain, constipation and diarrhea, laziness, body ache, mood change; the worst was with 10 mg. As I have urticaria, I experienced an allergy at the needle site after week 10, which resolved in 3 days every time. This week I have pelvic, vaginal, and lower abdominal pain similar to period pain, although I have been menopausal for 4 years! I am happy about the results with minimal side effects."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This is my third review. I’m 5’0”, started weight at 157. On Mounjaro one year. I’m a diabetic kidney transplant recipient, also have high blood pressure. Was on Trulicity for approximately 5 years but started having stomach pains, so was switched to Mounjaro. My A1C is now 5.8, my weight fluctuates from 109 to 111. I lost 47 lbs, 29% kids. I started on 5 mg because I had already been on Trulicity. My glucose levels started improving with the 10 mg, and weight loss started to come off more, which I started in August 2024. I’m very appreciative of Mounjaro, and for 2 months my dose is down to 7.5 mg, and glucose levels and weight are maintained with this dose. In the beginning, I had minimal side effects and currently don’t have any side effects at all. Mounjaro affects everyone differently. Mounjaro is very easy to use. I’m sure there are negative reviews, but please try it for yourself."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Mounjaro to help lose weight for 8 weeks, 4 at 2.5 mg & 4 at 5 mg and have not lost weight, no appetite suppression at all. I can't tell I'm taking anything at all other than burping, acid reflux, and stomach pain through the night after eating."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have started with the lowest dose and have moved up to 12.5 mg/0.5 and have had a little pain in the stomach as a side effect. I started out with an A1c of 9.9 and within 2 months of Mounjaro and changing my diet, my A1c was down to 7.0 and my weight went from 221 lbs to 197, and yes I am happy with that. I have not had any other issues or side effects other than not eating so much junk food or regular food like I used to. My craving for sweets has almost disappeared. I can't wait to see my final results, my goal is to get to 185 lbs and A1c of 5.5. Good luck to you all."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "The BEST EFFECT is that I was free from thinking about food for the first time in my long life. The downsides that I am still working with are being constipated, getting chills, and stomach pain. I have to take Miralax every day, and some days I do not feel well, and yet, it is well worth it to not be obsessed with food anymore. I am on 5 mg. I was concerned about self-injection but found that to be a non-issue. I do get a rash around the area, and my skin itches."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My A1C and glucose levels are great. I am not on insulin. Side effects are rotten. Nausea, GERD, constipation/diarrhea, headache, stomach pain, decreased appetite every shot lessens over the week. Had this with Ozempic and Trulicity too, but not as severe. I have seen no weight loss benefit despite a decent diet and moderate exercise 3-5 times per week. Other side effects I’m not sure are related: feeling of lump in throat, slight face rash, occasional blurred vision, tingling in hands."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Been on Mounjaro since April 24. Started on 5 mg because I was on Trulicity, which gave me severe stomach pains. Was on 10 mg before weight loss started. I’m 5’0”, lost 46 lbs, and A1C is 5.8. I now take 7.5 mg to avoid more weight loss. Hoping this will be my maintenance dose. Had very mild side effects initially, now just a little constipated, but coffee cures that. Feel better about myself. Very happy. Wish this came out years ago. Been diabetic since 42. Was unable to control both for a long time. Now I’m 68, and Mounjaro has made a believer out of me. I tell everyone about it that will listen. It affects everyone differently, so don’t always listen to the naysayers. Try for yourself."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I experienced some nausea, had severe stomach pains at times, vomiting, indigestion, and terrible sulfur burps. The appetite suppression is amazing, as I felt like a normal person not feeling hungry all the time. After my 2nd shot and even worse side effects, I told my doctor I noticed my eyes had jaundice, so he told me to stop taking it. It did lower my blood sugar levels, and I'm so disappointed my body couldn't tolerate this medication, as it would have helped me lose weight."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Mounjaro has been wonderful in reducing my blood sugar. However, the side effects feel like sometimes they are going to be the death of me. I experience nausea, constipation, and stomach pain. But if this is how it has to be to control my sugar, I can handle it. The only real trouble I am having is being able to get it through my pharmacy as it is often out of stock due to people using it for weight loss. I think diabetics should be given the first chance to receive this medication."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Lost 60 pounds in 4 months. Stomach pain and alternating diarrhea and constipation. I had recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes with an A1C of 6.6. Now my A1C is down to 5.5. My sleep apnea went from 27 incidents per hour to less than 2 per hour. I just started taking the 10 dosage. Every time I up my dosage, I have a few days of bad side effects, especially stomach pain, but after a while, they lessen, however, diarrhea or constipation never stops."

"I have diarrhea, lower stomach pain, dry heaves every time I eat. I also have back pain, but that is not unusual. This pain might be a little different though. I didn't know to tell my doctor that I have had a vein occlusion in my right eye quite a few years ago. I don't know if that is important or not. I don't think I am reading as well. Not sure."

I have also started having episodes of shortness of breath and dizziness when doing simple things like walking to the mailbox. None of these were issues before. Glucose readings are always in the normal range for the last two years. The physician's main concern has been an elevated A1C. I am currently on a high dose of steroids due to a liver issue."

For Type 2 Diabetes "When I first started taking Mounjaro, I didn't feel like eating at all, and I started to lose weight quickly. In fact, I lost 9 pounds in two weeks. I had diarrhea about three times a day in the beginning, it wasn't until about three months for that to stop. But now I have issues with belching and gas. I am now down 50 lbs, which is great, but I lost a lot of muscle tone. All in all, my blood sugar is doing great. I do recommend staying hydrated and taking some anti-gas meds if stomach pain persists."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Yes, you will lose weight. Yes, your A1C will go down. Yes, it is easy to take this medicine, one quick auto-injection each week in your thigh, simple and very easy with very little pain at all. I was very excited to try this new medicine for my Type 2 diabetes. It works very well, I went from an A1C of 13 down to less than 7 in 2 months. I lost 12 lbs and felt great in the beginning. But let me tell you! The side effects that come along with this can be very strong and disruptive. I have had nonstop diarrhea for the last 6 months, extreme stomach pain 2 days after I take the injection, very bad gas, and horrible stinky burps that just come out of my stomach at any time. I was on the 5 mg and slowly worked up to the 10 mg over 4 months. That sent me to the emergency room with extreme vomiting, severe abdominal pain, and complete misery. I just don't think the pain and side effects are worth it. I am trying to eat better and really watch my diet and exercise."
