"Lost 5 lbs in one week. First 2 days after injection, I am spacey & can't think clearly; just feel a little odd mentally. Also, EXTREMELY tired/run-down feeling. Otherwise, mild headache & constipation the rest of the week. Overall, would say it's worth it as I no longer binge or even eat much. Never in my life did I think I could stop obsessing over food and dieting. Maybe one day this drug could be reverse-engineered for anorexia or bulimia. Definitely took care of that awful desire and craving to eat all day and night."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been struggling on the weight loss rollercoaster for a while. Up 30 lbs, down 15 lbs, and so on and so forth. I'm taking a compound Mounjaro with B12. I have only been on 2.5 mg for less than a week and in that time, I feel GREAT! I've lost 3 lbs and don't crave midnight snacks, or snacks at all for that matter. The first couple of days I was unsure if I wanted to continue. I was exhausted, I couldn't think clearly, and had no energy. My body ached all over - no one had mentioned this, and just flat out was about to think that this was not for me. Day 3 and I felt great both physically and mentally. I hear people go up on dosage even after losing weight the first month, and unless I stall in my loss, I will continue on 2.5 mg. Remember, too much weight loss in a short amount of time isn't healthy. Slow and steady will help you keep the weight off when you stop taking this medicine (obviously with a change in your eating habits). Why put more drugs into my body than what is needed?"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started 10/26. Weight 245, female. 2.5 1x, 5, 1x, 10mg, last 2 months. Current 214. Zero exercise unfortunately. I have read so many reviews and I am baffled at all these bad side effects, since mine were so minor (except constipation and tiredness day after injection). Learned early, no sugar, breads, or pasta/potato. I take no other meds, do a strict low carb and fast. I have a protein shake at noon, a meat and a LC veg for dinner (small portion always), then freeze a protein shake for two hours and it makes ice creamish. Delish! That’s all I eat daily. Hunger is now fully controllable! My A1C started at 6.7, BUT I was on low carb for 6 weeks prior to blood work so likely much higher in general. Last week's blood test showed A1C at 5.0. My ALT SGPT (liver) was high last test, and normal range this time. What did go up were my top 4 CBC numbers. Overall, this is a game changer. So grateful. I truly believe eating right is the key when on this med. Hope this helps someone."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am 6ft and started at 213lbs. Blood sugars were a little elevated and I could see they were headed in the wrong direction. I also have severe sleep apnea. I started at 7.5 and just finished my fourth week. This drug is amazing. I’m down 24 lbs in 28 days. Lost 4 lbs last week. Current weight is 189lb. Goal is 175lb. I check my blood sugar 2 or 3 times a day. My highest reading was 101 about an hour after eating. Most readings in the low 80s which is perfect. I couldn’t have asked for more from this drug. Side effects are constipation (drink lots of water) and tired the day after the shot. I’ve been slightly overweight my entire life. I hope to lose this weight and then see if the sleep apnea goes away. Life changing."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm on month three. My doctor thinks I might be too sensitive to it and may have to stop soon. Extreme nausea, occasional vomiting, and sulfur burps followed by diarrhea, weakness, and lethargy. The pros: in three months, I've gone from 262 lbs to 239 lbs."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Constant nausea no matter what I eat. Muscle weakness and tired all the time. I’m feeling mentally down. Tomorrow will be my 3rd shot, and I’m seriously hoping these side effects go away so I can get type II diabetes under control. Probably losing some weight because I dread the nausea after eating so am not eating as much. The verdict is still out for me on this medicine."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am starting my 3rd month on Mounjaro. I have been overweight/obese most of my adult life. I have lost some weight but not as much as I expected. I feel terrible - I suffer with exhaustion, constipation, indigestion, depression, and nausea. I just do not feel good. It has sucked the joy out of my life. I used to exercise much more when I was not taking Mounjaro. I don't want to do anything. I am wondering if it is worth it?"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Mounjaro for 3 weeks (2.5 mg injection), and it has helped me tremendously. I started out at 333 lbs. Now I weigh 319 lbs. I feel full for longer. Just feel tired a lot, but I take vitamins and something for energy, so that has helped. I take stool softeners so I won't get constipated. I had a slight headache for a couple of days when I first started, but not bad. I don't crave snacks, caffeine, or sweets like I used to on a daily basis. If I even overeat a little, I feel miserable, so I have to watch that. Managing your portions is very important. I'm doing better with that now. It doesn't take much for me to eat and drink to be satisfied. My BP has been good. My doctor said I may be able to get off BP meds soon. I am so grateful for this new med. Can't wait to move up to the next dosage."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I took my first injection on April 20, and the second injection on April 27. On April 20, I had shortness of breath, which increased dramatically. Ended up in the hospital on April 22 for the day. Shortness of breath continued. Took another injection on April 27. That night, I looked at my calendar and realized that I had done activities without shortness of breath the week of April 17, 18, and 19 with no problem. I took an injection at about 9 am on the 20th and was short of breath by 10:30 am that day. The endocrinologist says it takes 4-6 weeks to exit the body. My symptoms did NOT improve until the 4th week, and then they have improved only slightly. I can't walk 40 ft without sitting down to catch my breath. Before the 4th week, it was 20 ft. Praying that at the end of 6 weeks, my breathing will return to normal. Also, many instances of BP under 90/57. When this happens, I am exhausted, have to drink 8-12 oz water, and lay down for at least an hour with feet elevated to get BP up to acceptable levels. No weight loss."

For Type 2 Diabetes "As of today, 9/5/2022, I have been on Mounjaro for 5 weeks. I have experienced upset stomach, nausea, weakness, and tiredness. I am on 2.5 mg. Hoping symptoms start to disappear. I am a Type 2 diabetic, and the pills didn't seem to help. I am in my 60s, so was wondering if that mattered. I'm not sure. I would like to continue the Mounjaro, but if side effects persist, I may have to try other options."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I just took my fourth injection, and I couldn’t be more excited! I’ve lost 10 pounds in three weeks, my appetite is controlled, I feel like I’ve finally got some hope to get my health where it needs to be. My morning fasting glucose is close to 100 (always near 140), no more crazy spikes hitting 200-300. I do get very tired the day of each shot. The first three days or so of my first injection, I was so ill (sick stomach). I got some Zofran, and that helped tremendously, so I’ll expect to need that with each dose increase. Looking very forward to 5 mg next week :) Ins won’t pay for it yet, even though I’m type 2, but I’ve got a coupon for it and paid $25 a month. Thank God, or I couldn’t get it, hopefully soon it will be covered."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve been taking 2.5 ml for 4 weeks and had few side effects apart from zero appetite, a little nausea, and a migraine (think the migraine was due to not eating). Now, week 5, increased to 5 ml and a different story: quite a lot of nausea, diarrhea, headache, and tiredness. Also again, total lack of appetite. Fortunately, these side effects more or less calmed down 2 or 3 days after taking the dose. I’m hoping it’s a temporary thing when you take a new dose - I can live with that."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I tried to leave a review, but for some reason, it wasn't posted, so I will try again. My doctor took me off of Mounjaro recently. I developed large welts about 24 hours after I injected the 75 doses and 10. My doctor fears I am developing an allergic reaction, so I am going back to the rival insulin alternative. (I had more side effects with the Ozempic: exhaustion, extreme nausea, and constipation, but hopefully, over time, they go away this time.) Too bad, because I really wanted to stay on Mounjaro. It should be noted that I really like Mounjaro very much. Well-controlled sugar, once I was on my maintenance dose of 10. For some reason, I gained five pounds while on Mounjaro, I never lost weight, where I lost about 15 pounds on the other mentioned insulin alternative. It seems that other patients on other review sites have this welt issue too. The issue should be reported not only to the doctor, but per the request of the manufacturer, please report to them as well."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I'm only on my second week, but I've lost 7 pounds so far. It forces me to eat because if I don't, I feel sick, but when I eat, I get full super fast. So it's like it's forcing me to do good and not starve myself. I really like that. The first week I had slight nausea here and there and a couple of headaches. Also, a little indigestion. I do feel pretty tired. I've been eating a low-carb diet. I'm going to incorporate exercise at the end of this week. I can only imagine how much I have the potential to lose once I start exercising if I've lost 7 just by eating better. Overall, I am satisfied with this drug. I'm on the low dose right now."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My dose at 2.5 mg was tolerable. Minimal side effects. 5 mg more side effects with nausea, sour stomach, gas. 7.5 mg has been a disaster. Heartburn. Headaches, lethargy, tiredness, no appetite, and need to force food on myself. Low blood sugar on CGM Libre2. I can't eat enough to get myself back to 90. I keep pegging 70 because I can't eat and am sick to my stomach all the time. My sleep is interrupted, and I must lie down constantly. I feel like I want to sleep all the time. Weight has dropped from 250 to 233 lbs, but if I can't get out of bed, what's the point? I will talk to my doc about going back to 2.5 mg for the A1C control, but this drug needs work."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "The first dose I felt like I was sunburnt all over my skin from my pelvis upward. I have never had such a feeling. It went away with antihistamine. It didn’t happen again. Four doses of 2.5 mg I lost 8 lbs. I felt very cold and tired, so I stopped using."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’ve been taking it for 10 days. First days, severe indigestion, tiredness, and virtually no appetite. Now, no indigestion, appetite returned, but not as much as before. Which is the goal, right? So far, I’ve dropped five to six pounds, most in the first few days. I weigh myself each Wednesday and Saturday. If the last two days’ weight loss turns out to be routine, I figure to drop about 2 lb. a week."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My weight has always been a roller coaster since I’m a stress eater. For the past four years, I’ve been told my A1c was borderline, even when I was a smaller size of 130 lbs. And diabetes doesn’t run in our family. Last fall, my weight topped off at 211 lbs. I was dismayed, I thought, now what, back to square one. I went to my weight loss practitioner again to restart HCG and phentermine, working out, I wasn’t seeing results. Then she introduced me to Mounjaro, a coupon I received, thus began my true weight loss journey. Having cut out sweets, I never eat fried foods, etc. I’ve lost 60 lbs in 5 months. It’s pricey, my insurance wouldn’t cover it, so I had to use my HSA or my FSA. I do have to make myself eat, but I eat much smaller portions. So what I’m saving on groceries, I’m spending on weight loss. In the beginning, I was tired a lot, but I think it was an adjustment phase. It’s worth it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started using Mounjaro in March 2023, with a 2.5 mg dose, for weight loss. I shifted to 5 mg after 2 weeks; I stayed with each dose for around 2-3 months. I lost 10 kg by August (6 mo.). I had a freeze in weight loss for 5 weeks, then I lost 1.8 kg in 2 weeks when I took 10 mg. In terms of side effects, I experienced them during the first weeks of every upgrade in dose; like nausea and sometimes vomiting, headache, stomach pain, constipation and diarrhea, laziness, body ache, mood change; the worst was with 10 mg. As I have urticaria, I experienced an allergy at the needle site after week 10, which resolved in 3 days every time. This week I have pelvic, vaginal, and lower abdominal pain similar to period pain, although I have been menopausal for 4 years! I am happy about the results with minimal side effects."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started using this as I'd already lost 3 stone through diet and exercise. All of a sudden, that steady 1 pound a week weight loss just stopped and nothing shifted it. I decided to give Mounjaro a go. 1st week I lost 2 pounds, 2nd week 2 pounds, and my 3rd week 4 pounds... amazing! I do combine with a 1500-calorie diet and regular exercise at the gym. I don't have the energy at the gym that I did before and can feel tired at times, but they seem to be the only side effects. I'll be going up to a maintenance dose of 5 mg soon."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Mounjaro in July '22 after losing 50 pounds (243 to 193, 5'2") on Trulicity. I am now closing in on losing 50 pounds on Mounjaro (approaching 143 lbs) and can honestly say that it has changed my life. My cravings for sugar are nearly gone. I drink 2 protein shakes each day and have found eating healthy and eating smaller portion sizes easy. I am a person who had horrible hyperemesis gravidarum during pregnancy, so I knew I would have the side effect of being nauseous. And I do become quite nauseous for the 2 days after the injection. However, I am able to manage this pretty easily as it passes quickly. Going from 12.5 mg to 15 mg was too much for me. I do best on the 10 mg. I do get minor constipation and occasional tiredness, but overall I feel 100 times better than I did 100 pounds heavier and I am no longer in the diabetic range."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I had previously taken Byetta, Ozempic, and Trulicity. With each, I maybe lost 10-12 pounds. I started Mounjaro on August 1, 2024. I weighed 195 pounds. Four months later, I have not had any nausea. I do have some tiredness and constipation. As of December 1, 2024, I have lost 32 pounds. Hope to continue for at least four more months. Would like to lose another 20 pounds if possible. Hope to find a way to keep the weight off! Feel so much better. Was wearing size 16-18, now 12-14! My A1C went from 7.4 to 5.7!! Best news!! All other blood work numbers improved, especially cholesterol. I have very little craving for sugar or meat but try to eat at least four ounces of meat per day!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am an African American female, 58 years old, 5’8” tall, weighed an unbelievable 270 lbs on 12/30/22. I asked my doctor if I could take this medication, and now here we are, 8 weeks later. I currently weigh 244.6 lbs. I lost 16 lbs in the first 3 weeks. I was extremely shocked and a little worried. My health is a constant concern, I suffer from chronic allergies, and frequently took steroid shots to manage the problem, which brought on weight gain. I am feeling better about myself. I am honestly trying to make this a life change. As for the first day after each shot, I am exceptionally tired, and I experienced redness at the injection site once. I'm not sure why, but so far so good. No headaches, no vomiting, just slight constipation. I am attempting to make this a life change with better food selections and exercise regimens to keep me on track."
