For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Mounjaro 8 weeks ago. I’m 69 years old with T2D and weighing 234 lbs. I now weigh 214. I start on 7.5 this weekend. I have had light nausea and light constipation, and the lovely burps, but other than that, all is good. I eat better, no hunger 24/7, and I feel so much better. No more metformin. Yay!!!!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started with 2 1/2, went up to five, and then now I am at 10. I lost a few pounds a week, although my appetite is much less than usual. The side effects have been very minimal, mostly headache, sore throat, and hoarseness seems to linger, never really goes. Constipation can be an issue at times, that only for myself, but other people I know on the same drug. My PA is working very closely with her and paying attention to absolutely everything closely. I feel that it’s a safe drug so far if you have a doctor or PA that is on board with you and to a full degree of attention. My hope is that once my A1c is in order, I will be able to discontinue the drug completely, although some studies recommend that not to be probable, again, working closely with my doctor and care team. Thank you for your time."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking Mounjaro for 7 weeks. During this time, I’ve only lost 16 pounds. The last four weeks, I have not lost a single pound! This is a very expensive drug, and the results should be better than what I’m getting! I’m on the 2.5% dose regimen. I increased my exercise program yesterday, and now I’m fast walking 2 miles each day. I’m not impressed at all with this drug. I’ve had a lot of constipation issues, which have been overcome by excessive amounts of laxatives. Don’t think this is a miracle drug because it’s not. I am not happy to date. I have spent out of pocket around $546.00."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was recommended weight loss pre-knee surgery and decided to try Mounjaro. I am a 55-year-old female, at least 12 kilos overweight. I have been using it for 3 weeks now (2.5 mg) and have lost 2 kg. There was no nausea, and I manage slight constipation with poached pears and yogurt or a prebiotic. I realized very quickly that I needed to eat smaller amounts more regularly as opposed to my previous habit of waiting until I was really hungry - I didn’t eat badly before, but my food portions were larger, and I regularly consumed alcohol. I tried a sip of champagne after 2 weeks of Mounjaro, and it tasted horrible. The combination of eating less, feeling satisfied, sleeping better, and weight loss has already changed my life for the better."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My experience has been very good. I took drastic steps to change eating habits, cutting carbs where possible. Rather than eating chips at home, I go through 6 lbs of carrots per week. I divorced French fries. Aside from that, I still eat what I want when dining out. Dropped from 330 lbs to 262 lbs in 8 months. No side effects aside from constipation - daily fiber and stool softeners make that manageable. I feel that part of the weight loss was simply the change in diet, but the Mounjaro certainly helped. I'm on the 2.5 dosage."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Lost 10 kg in 3.5 months with daily exercise and a calorie-controlled diet. It does not eliminate the cravings, though, I always have them. Just needed the mindset that this is an expensive drug and I have to make it work. No side effects at all compared to what I experienced with Saxenda. Saxenda gave me the most horrible constipation I've ever had in my life. I genuinely thought I was gonna end up in A&E for impacted stool. I'm very happy with Mounjaro."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started with the lowest dose for Type 2 diabetes. My A1C was 7.5. I immediately noticed I just wasn't hungry. Otherwise, no side effects. I have been on 15mg for several months now, except when I have to get a lower dose due to non-availability of the drug in my area. My A1C is now down to 5.6, and I have lost 87 lbs. I started at 325 lbs. I have some constipation, but it is manageable. I had noticed increased muscle weakness in my thighs, and I could barely walk without fear of falling. My doctor thought it was a lack of protein. After several days of high protein drinks, I felt much better. After a few weeks, I was back to normal. This is a great drug. I just wish it were more readily available."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started using Mounjaro in March 2023, with a 2.5 mg dose, for weight loss. I shifted to 5 mg after 2 weeks; I stayed with each dose for around 2-3 months. I lost 10 kg by August (6 mo.). I had a freeze in weight loss for 5 weeks, then I lost 1.8 kg in 2 weeks when I took 10 mg. In terms of side effects, I experienced them during the first weeks of every upgrade in dose; like nausea and sometimes vomiting, headache, stomach pain, constipation and diarrhea, laziness, body ache, mood change; the worst was with 10 mg. As I have urticaria, I experienced an allergy at the needle site after week 10, which resolved in 3 days every time. This week I have pelvic, vaginal, and lower abdominal pain similar to period pain, although I have been menopausal for 4 years! I am happy about the results with minimal side effects."

"I have been taking Mounjaro for 7 weeks. 4 weeks of that I was on the 2.5 mg dose and lost 15 lbs by the 4th week. The last 3 weeks I've been on the 5 mg and I've lost ZERO lbs. Seems kind of useless to take when you have all the side effects (constipation, diarrhea, bloating, gas, nausea, headache, severe fatigue) for 3 weeks straight with no weight loss. I am considering going off this medication, I think it was all just hype. I've also stopped having periods. 40 years old, SW 199, CW 185, GW 140. Also following website food/calories recommendations. I have no other disease, just obesity."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "My wife had been on Mounjaro for several months and had seen dramatic weight loss. Our bro-in-law had a prescription but had a reaction, so he gave his supply to me. (My insurance doesn't cover it.) After 5 months, I had lost 50+ lbs. In 15 months, my wife lost over 170 pounds. Both of us combined our course with a keto diet: low carbs, high fat, and protein. The wife's sisters had also seen similar results while also using the keto diet. I am not diabetic, but my wife is. She has cut her use of insulin to the bare minimum and will still occasionally have low blood sugar. While I have run out of my supply, I used 5, 7.5, and 10. My wife has had a more managed regimen, gradually increasing to her current 12.5. Our only real side effect has been constipation. We are trying to handle that with an increase in eating more fiber and fiber supplements, along with using laxatives. To deal with our decreased food intake, we are both also taking vitamin supplements."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been using Mounjaro for weight loss for 9 months. I have lost 90 pounds and have had very minimal side effects. Some nausea occasionally and constipation. I am so grateful to have been prescribed the Mounjaro, as I no longer have heartburn and have alleviated having to take omeprazole daily. My sleep apnea has improved, I no longer snore like I used to and no longer need a sleep mask. The aches and pains have decreased substantially, and I have more energy than I have had in years. I was pre-diabetic, and all of my labs have improved. I am hopeful to be able to continue with the prescription, however, I would be unable to afford the current copay. I fear if I have to stop, I will be back to my same obese status as I was a year ago. The medication not only curbs the appetite but also stops the 'food noise.' If you have this issue, this will totally make sense. If not, I envy you."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "The BEST EFFECT is that I was free from thinking about food for the first time in my long life. The downsides that I am still working with are being constipated, getting chills, and stomach pain. I have to take Miralax every day, and some days I do not feel well, and yet, it is well worth it to not be obsessed with food anymore. I am on 5 mg. I was concerned about self-injection but found that to be a non-issue. I do get a rash around the area, and my skin itches."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My A1C and glucose levels are great. I am not on insulin. Side effects are rotten. Nausea, GERD, constipation/diarrhea, headache, stomach pain, decreased appetite every shot lessens over the week. Had this with Ozempic and Trulicity too, but not as severe. I have seen no weight loss benefit despite a decent diet and moderate exercise 3-5 times per week. Other side effects I’m not sure are related: feeling of lump in throat, slight face rash, occasional blurred vision, tingling in hands."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started on 2.5 mg in December and have titrated up every 4 weeks to 12.5 mg currently. So far I have been losing 2-3 lbs a week and have lost 34 lb, and up until now I haven't really noted any serious side effects other than occasional constipation and slight nausea if I don't eat something small every few hours, or if I eat something really fatty. The last two titrations I have noticed some extreme fatigue and being cold on the first day after my shot, but then it usually starts to go away on the 2nd day and I feel better. I have also noticed that if I try to push through the tiredness and try exercising, I usually feel better. I have tried to stick to a 1200-1500 calorie diet and do eat a lot more fruits and veggies, and I feel better than I have in a long time. Overall, it’s been a good experience and I’m super excited to see how much more weight I can lose."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was prescribed this medication after having an ESG procedure to help with weight loss and in hopes of reversing Type 2. I also have PCOS and a family history of Type 2. After being on this medication, I am down at least 10 lbs (don’t remember my weight when I started), and my blood glucose is not in the diabetic range. My A1C was 5.9, down from 7.9, and I expect that to be lower on my next labs. I do have some side effects, the most prominent is constipation. Miralax helps. I used to get a headache after injection, but I take ibuprofen beforehand, and that helps. I also inject my thigh, not my stomach, and I do it before bed. I have to remember to eat and drink water. I would recommend this medication. I hope I’ve lost enough weight to get off and stay off. So far, so good."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I began taking Mounjaro in November 2022. I am 61 years old, weigh 194.6 lbs, a post-menopausal female with no other health issues to note. Since then, I have lost approx. 50 lbs and feel absolutely GREAT! In addition to the Mounjaro, I took weekly B12 shots, a multivitamin, a magnesium supplement, apple cider vinegar capsules, and a chromium supplement. I took the last injection on May 2, 2023 (weighing 144.6 lbs) and have continued with supplements. After 1 month, I am weighing 146.4 lbs. I do find myself having cravings at times and could eat more, but have been able to discipline myself to continue to eat in moderation and try to be more active since I definitely feel more energetic. My goal is to maintain below 150 lbs. I am a huge fan of this drug and have experienced very few side effects while taking it. I did experience indigestion and some constipation relieved by the supplements listed above."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Mounjaro in July '22 after losing 50 pounds (243 to 193, 5'2") on Trulicity. I am now closing in on losing 50 pounds on Mounjaro (approaching 143 lbs) and can honestly say that it has changed my life. My cravings for sugar are nearly gone. I drink 2 protein shakes each day and have found eating healthy and eating smaller portion sizes easy. I am a person who had horrible hyperemesis gravidarum during pregnancy, so I knew I would have the side effect of being nauseous. And I do become quite nauseous for the 2 days after the injection. However, I am able to manage this pretty easily as it passes quickly. Going from 12.5 mg to 15 mg was too much for me. I do best on the 10 mg. I do get minor constipation and occasional tiredness, but overall I feel 100 times better than I did 100 pounds heavier and I am no longer in the diabetic range."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am surprised by how quickly it has changed my appetite. My first injection of 2.5 mg was two days ago, and after a very small meal, I am completely full for hours. I’ve had constipation and feel bloated, or at least unpleasantly full. Hoping this will pass. I ate a bowl of turkey chili for dinner yesterday, and at noon today, I still have no desire (or room) to eat. I had a glass of water to take my morning meds and a cup of coffee this morning, and I’m still full."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been taking Mounjaro for 5.5 weeks. I've been on 2.5 mg the whole time. Although this dosage is considered a starting dose and not a therapeutic dose, I have seen a drop in fasting blood sugar from 110 down to 60 (I'm also taking metformin and glipizide). I have had few negative side effects (mild constipation) and have lost 8 lbs. I will talk to my Endo about moving up to 5.0 next and try to start reducing my metformin and glipizide dosages. Note: Although some people have some other major side effects, this drug affects everyone differently. You don't know how until you try it - this includes increasing your dosage."

For Type 2 Diabetes "It is excellent for control of Type 2 diabetes. Fasting glucose stays below 100 mg/dL exactly for one week. Appetite is suppressed completely. The only side effect that is very troublesome is constipation with secondary discomforts. Regular laxative is the only way to counter this."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "This drug is very helpful for me with weight loss. After checking the side effects, I have quite a few. Constant constipation, nausea, pain, inflammation, as well as additional thyroid issues, to name a few. Now, I'm concerned about my choice in using this drug. For me, it's very easy to administer the medication."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My A1C was 11 in December 2022. By March 2023, it went down to 7, and I lost 35 lbs. It is June 2023, my A1C is 6, and I have lost 48 lbs. I experienced some nausea and some constipation. Watching my portions and staying away from fried, fatty foods was key. I’m on the maintenance dose of 15 mg and feeling great."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking Mounjaro 2.5 mg in March of this year (2024). Every month, my doctor increased my dose to the next level. I was put on the medication to help with my A1C because it would go up and down but not at a normal number. After 3 months, it went from a 7 to 4.5. I was so happy with the result. I am currently on 15 mg and I am down 50 lbs (over 6 months) and A1C is staying at 4.5. My original goal was 30 lbs by September and 60 by next March. I am so excited that I am already close to my year weight goal loss. The only side effects that I have had were the sulfur burps, which I figured out how to control and prevent and stop. And occasional constipation, which I just increased fiber intake to help. Everyone's experience is different. I went into taking it and researching all the side effects and being careful. I am thankful to my doctor for helping me, and I am happy with the results so far."
