For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Buyer beware! Like many other users, I learned too late that your vagina will catch fire when you insert the capsule. I inserted about 8 pm, then at 10 pm I peed and went to bed. That's when the unbearable burning and itching started. It immediately escalated to me thinking something had to be wrong, I'm having a bad reaction! I quickly got online and found these reviews! I took one user's advice and hopped into a warm bath with about 1/2 of apple cider vinegar. It helped, the pain came down from a full-on 10 to about 7. I'm no longer squirming and grabbing my vagina in agony. But it's still very uncomfortable, and I hope I can get some sleep. I will not use this product again. I'll just go to the doctor to get a one-dose oral med next time."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "DO NOT TAKE THIS DRUG. I had a mild yeast infection: some discharge, itching, swelling, and I wanted to treat it quickly, so I picked Monistat one day without doing any research prior. I put the dinosaur egg in me before bed and slept through the night, but when I woke up for class, I started to experience the worst pain I have ever felt. The burning was so much worse than the actual infection, and it's been 6 hours since it started burning, and it's still continuing. There is also blood coming out of me. I've been told that the 7- or 3-day Monistat is a similar experience, but not as bad. This drug is also not even guaranteed to work, so I experienced this excruciating pain for nothing and have to go on the prescribed pill."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I did a search to see what could help the constant itching and discomfort in my vagina, and this product came up as effective and quick to relieve my symptoms. I went to the pharmacy to buy, hoping for some kind of relief, but just like the other ladies, it only made it so much worse. The pain is almost unbearable, and I can take a lot of pain. I'm on fire, and the itching is the worst in my entire life (I'm 46). I am looking for healing prayers. It totally needs to have a warning. I'm returning this horrible product."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I thought it would be as scary and bad when I applied the tube of Monistat 1, but it’s actually not that bad. Like I did feel a minor discomfort, but it’s nothing that I can’t handle. There’s a little burning sensation, but like I said, it’s not that bad that I can’t handle. It’s my first night using it, so hopefully it helps me out with this yeast infection..."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Two days ago, I started feeling the YI coming on. Since I had one before, there was no way I was going to wait as long as I had last time. I decided to try Monistat 1 because I am uninsured at the moment and figured it would be cheaper. 10 to 15 minutes after inserting the egg, I was in heaven. I actually took it in the evening around 6 pm and stayed in bed reading all night. When I finally went to sleep and woke up about 7 am, it was like I never took the meds at all. I applied a little of the cream it came with and I'm back to a dull roar. I definitely feel better, but I am hoping that the itching stops completely by work time tomorrow. I never experienced pain or itching so bad it brought me to tears after taking it, thankfully."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am currently taking antibiotics and started having symptoms of a yeast infection a few days ago. Tomorrow morning is my last dose of antibiotics. I decided to wait until tonight to try the Monistat 1 Day pre-filled applicator since I’m almost done with my antibiotics. I felt fine for the first five minutes, and then came the fire. My vagina feels like the fiery lava got unleashed on it. I have also tried the Monistat Egg (which should definitely be illegal). I ended up going to urgent care because I was in so much pain and I was so swollen. I am sitting on my floor, ice pack in between my legs, in a puddle of my own tears. Please don’t use either of these products, I should’ve just waited until the morning to get an antifungal pill from my gynecologist."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I went to the doctors, and they told me I had a yeast infection. Now this is my first time getting one. My doctor told me to purchase Monistat 3, so I finally used my first insert last night, and I didn't feel a thing, but when I laid down, it started itching and burning really bad, unexplainable. The pain was so bad I was thinking about going to the hospital, but then I put the external cream on, and about 30 minutes later, I felt relief. I wouldn't purchase this product ever again because the pain was much worse than the actual infection. I'm debating on using the second insert or not. UGH!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Maybe the ones that are hurting have more severe cases of YI. I took this 4 days ago, and I have had no problems. Was easy to use. There hasn't been any pain or discomfort. I'm 42 and have had two children. I would recommend this product."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had a pretty mild yeast infection and had been using my home remedies for about 5 days with no relief. My boyfriend willingly picked up Monistat 1 day treatment for me (he was just as ready as I was). I popped it in right before going to bed. I woke up about an hour later with an extreme, deep itching. I felt like my entire rectum was being tickled with a feather. Or perhaps it was more like ants crawling inside of my anus. I grabbed some ice cubes and wrapped them in a towel and began rubbing my vagina. I yelled out in pain. Then I began scouring the internet. Coconut oil became my best friend. I was rubbing it on every 10 minutes. But alas it subsided, and it seems my yeast infection is gone as well."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am in my twenties and am currently battling my second yeast infection. For my first one, I used the Monistat 1 ovule with great success. Immediate relief of symptoms, and full treatment overnight. So, when I got my second yeast infection, I used the same treatment. Immediately after inserting the ovule and using the cream, I felt the irritation and itching begin to intensify. Less than 30 minutes later, I was sitting in the bathtub bawling and feeling like I could pull my hair out. I'm typically very tolerant to pain and have never had any type of reaction to ANY kind of medication. Next time, I will DEFINITELY be calling my doctor for the oral pill. The pain is not worth the money you might save. Rated 5 because it DOES work, but it hurts."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "We're trying to get pregnant, and I heard you shouldn't use Diflucan (the pill) if you're trying, so I buckled and bought Monistat 1 (the ovule). The pharmacist suggested doing it before bed. I had a 5-mile race in the morning and really wanted to NOT have a yeast infection for this, so I applied around 11 when I went to bed and was woken up at 3:11 am by the worst burning and itching I have EVER FELT. I cannot BELIEVE this stuff is sold legally. I immediately got into the shower and tried to clean it out, but I couldn't get it all - I then drew a bath, but no matter what I did, I just couldn't get it all out. Eventually, I moved to the couch after 2 hours of this because my poor husband was ALSO running the race. I fell asleep after taking 2 Aleve and sitting on a bag of frozen cauliflower (ohhhh the irony) and suffered through the race, feeling the medicine oozing out. I am STILL in pain, burning and itchy. I'm slowly losing my mind. This is like some sick joke. DO NOT TAKE THIS."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Well, it started off with me taking some kind of meds, and now I got a YI. I have been in pain for like 4-6 days before. I just thought it was from having sex, but then I asked my mom, and she recommended the one-day preloaded syringe thing, so I got that. I injected it last night about 9 pm, and so far it's still painful and swollen, but it's not burning or itching too bad. So, it's now 9 am, and I'm hoping it works and clears up. In the next couple of days, I'll repost anything else, but so far so good. It was super easy to inject. I'd suggest a panty liner or thin pad just for leakage, the crew is very thick and oily."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This medication is a painful experience. I took it last night to care for a mild yeast infection. After waking, I found that my symptoms intensified and new ones occurred. The medication caused me to experience vaginal discharge that irritated my vagina even more. I became swollen and red, and it started to burn when I urinate. I made a doc appointment and received oral medication to help the infection. My doc informed me that the reason Monistat 1 is so painful for so many women is due to the high levels of medicine within the 1 dose. The medication also irritates the skin so much that it causes the swelling, redness, and burn. She said that the 5 or 7 is much better...or paying a visit with the doc for some med."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I cannot believe I did not look up this drug before buying it. NEVER AGAIN. I have read reviews of this that said, 'I never write reviews for products.' Well, neither do I, and I am just like the others who are writing one to warn you about this. I thought I should choose the 1-day because it was recommended, and I am very busy. Well, now I still cannot do the work I needed to because of the pain and itching I am going through. The side effects are worse than any Y.I. I have ever even had. The pain was unbearable, so I took a bath. Nothing. I am currently sitting with ice in between my legs to see if that will help. Still, nothing. My experience from this pain and itching is so unbearable I am traumatized and will never try Monistat again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "It hurt like anything the first night, but it worked! I was back to normal, no itching, and my discharge was back to its regular state. If you can't handle the pain for the first two days, then don't get it. It worked just fine for me."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I put the capsule in right before bed last night, only to be awakened a few hours later with a burning and itching that literally made me cry. I cannot even explain the level of pain I'm in. My vagina and labia are bright red, swollen, and throbbing with pain. The burning sensation is non-stop, and the itching comes whenever some of the cream seeps out. I would NEVER recommend this product to anyone!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This was the WORST product I have ever used! Within an hour of using Monistat 1, I had severe itching and burning. I was frantic to get it out and resorted to a vinegar wash and a few warm water washes. I’ve probably now just given myself a bacterial infection on top of everything else, but the itching and pain were SEVERE!!! I would never recommend this product for anyone. STAY AWAY!!!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have frequent yeast infections due to elevated blood sugar and prescribed antibiotic use. My doctor says the “1 Day” treatments have been proven to be the most effective in treating yeast infections, but the trick is to match up the right med for your particular infection. Tioconazole kills more strains of Candida than even the prescription cream, but no longer works for me, nor does the Diflucan pill. Currently, the only thing that actually works is Monistat (Miconazole) 1 Day. Believe me, I wish that one of the other yeast-killing meds worked because this Monistat “ovule” can be so miserable to use that I dread it. The combo pack with a tube of cream is good - use the cream to coat the ovule to help insert the darn thing, but I still can have pain, burning, cramping, and even a little bleeding when I use Monistat 1 Day. Bottom line: If it matches up to my yeast infection, Monistat 1 Day works really well, but the treatment is so miserable for me to use that the yeast infection is almost preferable."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "DO NOT USE THIS!!! Even though it's probably too late for most of you. Like me, you probably googled this after your crotch was on fire. Some of you have asked how long the burning will last. I inserted the product Wednesday night and had to call out of work on Thursday and Friday. By Friday afternoon, the pain was gone only after swimming in the pool for a couple of hours. If I could have stood upside down in the shower with the water blasting on it, I would have. If you haven't taken it, don't. If you have, I'm sorry for what is about to happen to you."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Okay, so I read all the negative reviews after I purchased this, and I have to say yes, it’s a horrible feeling for your vagina, and it itches and feels like someone beat up your vagina, but after all the pain, IT WORKS! I did the one day and only had to go through the pain once, and after the 7 days, it was GONE!!!! So I would definitely take the itching and pain for a day, then wait all 7 days for it to go away because it does work, and my vagina feels all better now."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Do NOT buy this! This should be taken off of the shelves, or at least women should be told the effect and pain this causes. This is the absolute STRONGEST form of the medication. What took an already pretty miserable yeast infection brought on by antibiotics for strep throat and turned it into PAIN, also bad I couldn’t function. I am taking ibuprofen and Benadryl to ease symptoms, but this product is awful. Wish I had seen these reviews and just gone and got the Diflucan pill. First and last time I will buy this product. Ladies, if you choose, do the 3-day or 7-day option. The strength of the medicine is lower, but the 1-day doesn’t clear things up in 2 days anyways, and it is PAINFUL!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Unfortunately, I am prone to YI, and I don't know why it occurs often, but I usually get Diflucan scripts from my doctor. Apparently, oral meds aren't for me because my YI never clears. I was scared to try this because of so many bad reviews, but after I showered, I used this around midnight, and when I woke up the following morning, I felt 10x better. Still, little swelling, but no pain, burning, or itching. I went to urinate, and there was a lot of discharge/meds exiting my body, so I would recommend wearing a pad after using this applicator. Hopefully, this clears up for good within the next few days. Good luck, ladies!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "DO NOT BE SCARED OF THIS MED! I've used everything under the sun for recurrent YIs, and honestly, Monistat keeps it away the longest. I'm pretty sensitive down there, and I've tried Monistat 1 & 3, and I've never experienced this burning and pain other women talk about. I will say that it makes the itching worse at first, and your lady bits will be swollen for a few days while the infection clears up, but nothing crazy! I know everyone is different, but come on, ladies, YIs suck, but don't blame the med! (Giving 9 stars because it doesn't completely stop me from having YIs every other month or so, but that's a lost cause at this point LOL)"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is the worst product ever for a yeast infection. I inserted the little egg at 12 am for it to help relieve the start of a yeast infection. This was an EXTREMELY bad idea. I woke up at a little till 1 am to EXCRUCIATING PAIN AND ITCHING. Do not use this product if you haven't used it before. I have used the 3-day and 7-day treatment before with no problem... But the 1-a-day is extremely painful and itchy..."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Have had a yeast infection for about 4 days now, as I had no access to a pharmacy. Figured I'd give this a shot for fast relief. An hour later and the itching/burning has gotten so bad I am crying. Zero relief. Can't concentrate on anything right now. I've had yeast infections before and always went with Canesten (which I've never had issues with). Will never buy this again. Not worth the pain. Hope it goes away in an hour or two...."
