For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I got a yeast infection for the first time a couple of days ago. So I went to the store and bought Monistat 1. I would absolutely recommend this to any girl. An hour after using the medicine, I felt some leaking and irritation. So I used the cream. Within four hours of using the medicine, I feel a million times better. I will definitely use Monistat if I ever have this problem again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "DO NOT TAKE A CHANCE WITH THIS PRODUCT!! I got a yeast infection after a round of antibiotics. I had only mild symptoms for about 4 days before I decided to treat. The only reason I treated was that I am about to be super busy at work and wanted to feel my best. I chose the 1-day treatment because why treat for 7 days what you can treat in 1? Big mistake. I inserted the ovule, no problem. As soon as I put in the 'itch relief' cream, the itching and irritation increased 1000%! I feel so much worse than I did before this treatment. It's ironic that the treatment I used so I could be my best at work will probably make me actually miss a day at work. The discomfort is almost unbearable."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'm turning 16 at the end of this month, and I had another yeast infection. I used Vagisil before, suggested by my doctor. This time, my mother went and picked up Monistat 1. In comparison, there was no burning or irritation once I applied the medicine. I would suggest wearing a pad and loose pants that you don't mind getting ruined, as suggested. However, I felt very uncomfortable about 4 hours after. It was a mixture of burning and itching, so I kept walking around my house and trying to get myself to ignore it. I eventually laid down and went to sleep. When I woke up, I felt completely better. There is still some irritation, but it isn't as bad as it was a few days ago. I would highly recommend it if you don't mind the slight side effects."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I love this medication. I never have a problem. It burns slightly because it's killing the fungus and yeast. Please be mindful how you clean your vagina. No soap is required to clean the inside of your vagina, just the creases and folds with a mild soap. I use Olay. Your vagina is already irritated and swollen, especially if you were having sex. Vaseline helps soothe the irritated vagina."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have to admit I am quite surprised at all the negative reviews. I've used Monistat 1 every time I get a yeast infection, and I never had any horrible symptoms as others described. I always feel relief within a few hours, and my yeast infection totally clears up in no time. I'm wondering if the people who experience symptoms are not inserting the medication far enough inside. If you don't insert it correctly, once the egg starts to dissolve, the product could get on areas that are already inflamed/sore, which could lead to more irritation/discomfort. Read the instructions to ensure you are inserting the product correctly! I would highly recommend this product! 5 stars!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I made an account here just to write a review on this product. Before taking this, I had already heard some bad things, but I decided to go ahead and try it anyway. Once I inserted the product, I started reading more reviews and literally went into a panic because of how bad people were saying this was. After about an hour, I felt a little tingly/irritation down there, but it wasn't painful, just a little annoying and uncomfortable. The second I felt that, I took two Tylenol extra strength, just in case this feeling started getting worse. I'm not sure if they prevented any pain or if the product just didn't get worse, but I wasn't in pain at all while using this. Maybe I'm lucky, or maybe the Tylenol helped. Don't be scared of using this product because of all the reviews, there are plenty of people like me who are fine and probably don't take the time to review it as they have happily moved on with their lives (pain, burn, and itch free)!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "It's 9:08 Central time. Trying to escape the vaginal discomfort I've been experiencing for the last 4 days, I decided to go for a quick cure of what has to be YI. Now, let the record show, I take great care of my VaJayJay; weekly grooming, daily baths; walks in the park-you know the usual. Anyway, it's approximately 15 minutes after application and Satan's helpers have invaded my vagina! I'm afraid to move due to fear that they'll set more fires in and around my poor vagina! I wonder if the fires are keeping the Monistat minions warm or are they providing heat to cook food!? I usually research reviews on products I've never tried but the irritation caused me to make a mad dash to the nearest Walgreens. REGRETTING THAT DAMN DECISION!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Okay ladies, so I tried MONISTAT 1 because I had an uncomfortable itch that lasted about a week. I didn't read anything before and just used it in the middle of the day around 1 p.m. (bad idea). At first, it was uncomfortable burn and irritation, but I just stuck it out and slept comfortably through the night. This morning I woke up with NO itch! I've used Diflucan before, and it usually works, but I didn't feel like going to the doctor. If you have a slight itch and discharge, I highly recommend it! After I read it, I saw the horror stories and was terrified, but seriously, you know your own body. I have an ongoing issue of UTIs, yeast infections, and bacterial infections, so I know when to use what and would recommend this product to anyone!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had some irritation and discomfort from a YI. I've used Monistat 1 day in the past, so I purchased it again in hopes of getting relief as I've gotten in the past. Instead, I got the worst itching and burning my vagina has ever had. After reading the reviews, I became very concerned and tried to wash as much of this product off as I could. I pray this medication doesn't cause any serious problems. I can't even sleep because the burning is so uncomfortable. Sooo disappointed. I DO NOT recommend this product even though I've used it in the past to cure my YI."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I first used this medication years ago right before a trip to Cali. I didn't have time to go to the doctor, so I read reviews and took a chance. It cleared me up in 4 days, and I felt little irritation. The cream, on the other hand, left a slight burning sensation. I used the knockoff Albertsons brand with the same ingredients this time around and felt instant relief. The cream was extremely soothing as well."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took a shower at about 4:30 pm and inserted the thing in my vagina. Around 8 pm, I was reading reviews and freaked out because they were saying they were on fire. So now I started feeling a little extra itching and a little burn, nothing that made me cry or want to yank my vagina off. Also, I was on day 1 light flow of my cycle. Well, when I went to use the bathroom, I took a spray bottle and cleaned myself, and I would pat myself dry. I took 3 Tylenol and kept drinking water. Around 10 pm, I was comfortable enough to go to sleep. I woke up again around 5:30 am to change my baby's diaper, and I was feeling better. Here it is 8:40 am, and I feel great. No itching, no burning, no irritation. I think the burning and itching come from where it's working."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I purchased this last night and put it in before bed so I would be laying down while it was in. I've never had such itching and irritation in all my life. It itched worse than the yeast infection itself! It itched so bad my body was twitching. I got out of bed and cleaned it all out and sat in the tub for an hour."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is a really strange product, and I feel like it works but has incredibly painful side effects that are pretty worrying. I used it before bed, and it woke me up in agony. The irritation and itchiness were horrible, but when I finally fell asleep and woke up, I did feel like the itchiness related to the yeast infection had died down. The cream continued to leak, which made it extremely uncomfortable to do anything during the day, and about 15 hours after using it, I've noticed a really bad swelling, which makes it painful to walk. I only used the external cream once because it only made the irritation worse. I feel like the medication does work, but at such a high dose, it causes incredibly bad side effects."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Like most of you, I did not read reviews nor the box. I've had a YI before and have used Monistat in the past, but never the 1-day. I was on antibiotics and knew I'd get one, so I asked for the pill. Problem there is you take the pill on the last day of antibiotics. My vag gets a YI with just the thought of getting an Rx for antibiotics. I grabbed that 1-day max strength like it was the last machete during the zombie apocalypse. I put that egg in around midnight, at 3 am, I woke up to the WORST itching of my life. I honestly wanted to use my cat's claws to satisfy the itch (that's a joke, don't call PETA). It's day 4 after insertion, and that was basically a chemical peel. My vag is so irritated and sensitive, but at least the YI is cured."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've had 3 yeast infections in my life. The first time I treated my infection with the Monistat 7 and experienced the same awful side effects most of you ladies are experiencing. Nonstop burning and irritation, you name it, I had it too! Second time around, I went with the pill prescribed by my doctor. This time around, I went with Monistat 1 day oval applicator and felt little to no discomfort, and the infection was completely gone in 3 days with minor mess on the panties. My best advice is that from experience, all Monistat medication takes getting used to. If this is your first time around, definitely expect much of what is happening to the rest of the ladies here to happen to you."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So this product really works. It just causes intense itching and irritation first, probably worse than the actual yeast infection. But once the agonizing symptoms go away, so does the yeast infection. It's incredibly hard not to scratch. But believe me, I used the 3-day packet, was in agony every time I used it, but once it was done, the symptoms completely vanished."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I wasn't even convinced I had a full-blown YI, but with the irritation I decided to get the 1 a day. I used said product around 11 pm - it is now 5 am and I'm wide awake after sitting in a cold bath because I feel as though I've been stung by fire ants. This is ridiculous, I don't remember anything burning this bad. I wish I would've read reviews first."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have taken the ovule before, and ladies, I understand your pain. I had crazy burning and irritation but was fine a day later. Today at 4:45 am, I have taken the Monistat 1 pre-filled applicator, and I must say, so far so good. I prepared myself this time. Before using Monistat, I used the Vagisil Anti-Itching and Burning Wipes to wipe my vagina. I then used the Monistat, and almost an hour later, I'm fine. If I had used the ovule, I would have felt the pain within 30 minutes. I'm a very sensitive individual, and this is actually great so far. Go with the pre-filled and not the ovule."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have a mild YI, and don't have time to go to the doctor, so I bought this product. I applied it at 10 pm, and by 3 am, I was in the bathroom crying. The itching was so bad I couldn't help but itch it, which only irritated my vagina. It is now 4:30, and it is starting to get very slightly better. All I can say is I hope it's working and that my YI will be gone when I wake up."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I haven't had a yeast infection in a long time, so when I got one from my antibiotics, I got the Monistat 1 Day. I was scared from reading the comments, but when I used it, I didn't have any problems. All you have to do is make sure the egg goes far enough inside you, like putting in a tampon, and then the cream is for external use only. This could be why some are experiencing more of an irritation/burning sensation. Hope this helped."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Dear God, grant me the strength to get through this... I REALLY regret not just going to see an OBGYN or something. I've never had anything itch so terrible in my life. I think many of the girls are in pain simply because of the itch magnitude. 'Some irritation and itchiness DURING insertion' is like false advertising of side effects. More like, this shit will make your brain tingle, and you won't know what the hell to do with yourself after all the stuff starts bursting out. I thought the insertion itself would be the worst part; I was wrong-it's the easiest. Fifteen minutes later, I'm catching my breath at times at how badly this stings/itches. Never. Ever. Again. Put it in before bed, now it's 3 AM, I'm wide awake."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had a mild YI, and it wasn't bothering me a lot, but I wanted 100% relief. My mom suggested I use the Monistat 1, and I agreed. Around noon, I showered and inserted the little egg, and immediately my itching became worse! I looked up the reviews after this and was terrified. I hopped back in the shower just for soothing relief, and it was still irritating, and I even used the itch relief cream, which was pointless. I was miserable until I ended up grabbing an ice cube and putting it down there, and my gosh, the relief was amazing! I iced for about 3 hours because the itch would not go away. I'm now on hour 4 and feel no itch, just a warm sensation that is bearable. Take at night! Walking is not an option when the itch comes!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "If you are someone who can't stand the feeling of burning, irritation, and itching, then this product ISN'T FOR YOU. I should have used some common sense when I read Monistat 1 Day 'MAXIMUM STRENGTH' on the box. I was up all night cleaning/wiping the white glue-looking discharge with baby wipes and toilet paper. It was the only thing that helped relieve the horrible side effects. My parents always warned me that good things never happen when you try to take the short and easy road. I've been up since about 1 a.m., and now it's a little past 5 a.m. I have to get up at 6:30 a.m. for my first day of school. Yay me...."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This medication is a painful experience. I took it last night to care for a mild yeast infection. After waking, I found that my symptoms intensified and new ones occurred. The medication caused me to experience vaginal discharge that irritated my vagina even more. I became swollen and red, and it started to burn when I urinate. I made a doc appointment and received oral medication to help the infection. My doc informed me that the reason Monistat 1 is so painful for so many women is due to the high levels of medicine within the 1 dose. The medication also irritates the skin so much that it causes the swelling, redness, and burn. She said that the 5 or 7 is much better...or paying a visit with the doc for some med."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am in my twenties and am currently battling my second yeast infection. For my first one, I used the Monistat 1 ovule with great success. Immediate relief of symptoms, and full treatment overnight. So, when I got my second yeast infection, I used the same treatment. Immediately after inserting the ovule and using the cream, I felt the irritation and itching begin to intensify. Less than 30 minutes later, I was sitting in the bathtub bawling and feeling like I could pull my hair out. I'm typically very tolerant to pain and have never had any type of reaction to ANY kind of medication. Next time, I will DEFINITELY be calling my doctor for the oral pill. The pain is not worth the money you might save. Rated 5 because it DOES work, but it hurts."
