For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Read the reviews on here, and I must say I was dreadfully worried, however, I used the 1-day Maximum Strength, and I did NOT experience burning, itching, or irritation. I guess everyone is different. I feel so much better, highly recommend!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had a similar reaction of burning and itching to those shared by others. I’m leaving this comment to share what worked for me to relieve the pain. I stood in the shower for about 15 minutes with the shower head rinsing it all out. I was still feeling irritated internally and remembered advice from my OBGYN when I was suffering from vaginal dryness after my kid was born. I grabbed a jar of organic unrefined coconut oil. Scooped out a clump (about almond-sized) and inserted it into my vagina as far as I could, and within 10 minutes, ALL of the pain and burning had subsided—ALL OF IT. It probably helped that the coconut oil was cool and very solid and I had only had the product inside of me for about 90 minutes. If you are reading this, rinse the product off IMMEDIATELY and apply coconut oil."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Never use this. I started to get the symptoms of a YI, so I bought the 1-day pre-filled one. It itches and burned, but I figured it was just the meds doing its thing. The next day wasn’t bad, just a little red. Now, 4 days later, I’ve missed 3 days of work and am in excruciating pain. My vagina is swollen, irritated, and has sores all over. No, it’s not an STD, as my doctor ran the test and it was negative. It is just a really bad reaction!!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I inserted the maximum strength Monistat 1 last night, say 9:30. Slept fine. Had minor burning after my morning urination, but it went away 10-20 mins later. I was already swollen before using and aching, not much burning or itching. It's going on 6 am, and it seems to be doing what it is supposed to for me. And if you use the wet wipes to kind of keep the discharge/medication leakage wiped up as much as possible from the outside of your vag, it’d help. I think letting it pool and sit is what may be causing a lot of the irritation. There was a good bit of wet wipes in my kit along with some cream for the outside area."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Ok I've used Monistat for the first time. Yes, it made me itch and burn, but the irritation subsided. I woke up at 4 in the morning, which is routine for me, I'm pregnant. The itching stopped. I can tell this stuff is really working once it starts leaking out during bathroom breaks, wipe away excess. Worth the discomfort. For all the pregnant ladies out there, it sucks but works."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had a YI probably in 2011, used Monistat 1 so it can be a quicker process and hated it. It came right out of me and burned like hell. I immediately showered to get it off me. But it still burned. So now, in 2015, I have a YI. I bought the same medication because I don't have time for a 3/7 day process. Already prepared myself for the worst. I had a rag waiting just in case it came out, even laid a towel down to sleep under me, but it didn't come out. I showered first and made sure I inserted it as far as possible. I slept through the night normally. And the best part, no irritation or burning. This time, I took the vaginal test first to see if it was a YI, and it was. Maybe that has a factor on it as well. But I am so pleased the second time around."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "It's been an hour since I inserted the cream, and yes, there is burning and irritation, but it's just the medicine doing its job. I'm assuming it will also leave me raw, but I figured that would happen when you use a high dose of cream in a sensitive place. I don't recommend doing the treatment at night, however, because I don't think I would be able to sleep. Some minutes are worse than others, but if you think about the positives of one day in discomfort to treat the infection versus a week or more not treating it, it's gotta make it worth it. If you can't handle pain or just the YI in general, I don't recommend this for you. If you got through a week or more of a YI, I believe you can get through this too."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have had a few YIs in the past and always used Monistat 7, but this time I felt a YI infection coming on. I tried to sit it out and just wait for it to go away on its own, but it was just too uncomfortable. So finally, on the third day, I went and got Monistat 1. I inserted it around 8 at night, and around 2 in the morning, I was up screaming at the top of my lungs, a few tears here and there. Didn't get any sleep till maybe 7 in the morning. The irritation calmed down, and swelling is going away. Also, I was so tired the next day. My body felt like I had been in a fight and couldn't go on anymore. Oh, and not to mention, even though the swelling went away, it burns when I pee. I recommend using Monistat 3 or 7."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Inserted the ovule last night around 11:30 pm. My first comment is...why did no one else on here think it was kind of hard to put in? BUT anyway, inserted last night, felt some itching the first few minutes that quickly went away, woke up this morning at 9:25 am and my only symptom is some very mild burning. It's too early to say if it cleared up, and I'm very sensitive, so I assumed I'd get some mild irritation, but so far so good. I'm glad I did this before reading the reviews because I would've psyched myself out."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'm 16 weeks pregnant with a yeast infection due to antibiotics. I bought the Monistat 1 with an egg. Showered, inserted the egg, applied cream... Good hour it's been up there and I'm sitting on the toilet in tears!!! The infection wasn't even this uncomfortable! This is the worst! And the external cream burns now from the irritation. Lord help me, please!!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Over the weekend, I was experiencing extreme itching and irritation down there, so I called my doctor as soon as they opened and told them my symptoms, and they recommended trying Monistat 3 before making an appointment. However, I wanted this to clear up as soon as possible, and I had to go to work and needed to use it during the day, so I bought the Monistat 1 ovule. This could be a result of me not placing the ovule as far in as it could go because I was in a rush and did not read the directions, but as soon as the egg started to melt, I felt an intense burning on my entire vagina (inside and out). Honestly, I can't say if this is good or bad because I didn't follow the instructions properly, but hopefully it will still work for me."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Due to diabetes, this does not work on me. It actually irritated me down there so bad, and I had burns with slight bleeding in the vulva area. It’s overpriced for it not to work well. Waste of money."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I get yeast infections every few months. There’s really no rhyme or reason for it other than my pH levels are sensitive, and it seems to run in the family. Two days ago, I woke up with one, so I called my GYN and left a message asking for her to fill an Rx of Diflucan. Because YIs are really annoying (as we all know) and I’m an impatient person, I decided to try using Monistat 1 in the meantime. I thought, what’s the harm? WELL, there was actually a lot of harm in using Monistat 1. It made my itching and irritation SO much worse. And not long after inserting it, it felt like I put a piece of hot coal in my vagina. The itching got progressively worse through the day. The following day, my YI is still there and the worst I’ve ever had. Normally, one dose of Diflucan treats my YIs with no problem, but after taking Monistat 1, I had to take two doses of Diflucan because the Monistat LITERALLY made the infection worse. Why is this OTC drug still on the market?"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Ok, so I felt irritation yesterday, but I was so sleepy I didn't feel like walking to the store (dumb car brakes went out). So this morning I showered and checked to see if, in fact, this was a YI coming on. So I had the strength to walk to the store, came home and inserted the ovule, then applied some cream at 7 a.m. I bought the Monistat 1 maximum strength cream and itch relief. Took a long, much-needed nap, and now at 1:05 p.m. I feel like wiping down below, but no more irritation, and the burning still has yet to come. Not my first time using it, I've never had a problem with this, and I always buy the same one. If you're burning and irritated to an extreme extent, then go to the ER. Don't put faith in your own hands, then blame medication when it could be you!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "After rounds of antibiotics, my body produced a yeast infection. The worst irritation I have ever experienced, my vagina was swollen, red, itchy, and stayed in constant pain. I purchased Vagisil to reduce the itch, however, that caused more inflammation and itch. Last night, after not being able to sleep, I woke up at 4 am and ran to my local 24-hour pharmacy to purchase Monistat. After viewing my options, I decided to purchase the 1-day combination due to the fact that my anniversary with my boyfriend is quickly approaching, and we are going on a romantic weekend getaway. Having a swollen, itchy lady part oozing discharge is the last thing I would want to happen. I took the Monistat, and it cleared right up :)"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I got a YI and I usually go to my doctor and get a Diflucan, but this time I decided to go buy this product for some reason. I inserted it as stated, put a bit of ointment on, and 40 minutes later my poor vagina was on fire! Itching, burning, all bad. I got so irritated that I went to the bathroom to try to take off as much as I could, and it was all over my underwear. It's been over 2 hours and I'm still in pain. I'm hoping this medication actually works because if it doesn't, then I'm going through all of this pain for no reason :( no woman should have to feel what I'm feeling right now. Horrible, horrible. I will never buy this again, next time I'll just make the time to go to the doctors. Lesson learned."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am currently on antibiotics for a respiratory infection and I felt the YI coming. I purchased Monistat 1 pre-filled ointment and used it early on so I didn't have any discomfort, raw skin, or itching before use. I used the application after my shower and before bed. I woke up with an insanely inflamed vag, I could barely walk. Reading these reviews, a lot of people aren't saying that once the medicine is taken, the yeast will begin to spew out of the vag, which explains why I woke up and my undies were nearly soaked (yuck, I know), causing the irritation, raw itchy and inflamed skin. Besides all that, I noticed the swelling, burning, and discharge subsided all that day. This medicine actually works really well, you just have to keep clean and dry to rid symptoms."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Do not use this. I was having awful itching, irritation, and a little swollen, so I assumed a yeast infection and picked up the kit. After 4 days, symptoms did not go away or even get better. Made an OB appointment, and I had BV and an outer yeast infection. So, ladies, just go to the OB and get checked. A lot of times, BV and yeast infections have very similar symptoms. Next time, I'll skip the kit and go straight to the doctor!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've had a few YIs before, all due to antibiotics (yay me), and I've used the Monistat 1-day treatment before, and I don't remember having any negative side effects, although I do remember the cream burning/offering no relief. I've had this YI for 5 days, and so I decided to try again. I inserted it when I got home from work, then took a nap, and woke up with 10x the burning, itching, and irritation I've had all week! I went to the bathroom, and a lot of the medication was in my panties, and I cleaned what I could off of me. It really irritated my skin, and it was very uncomfortable for several hours. The only thing that offered any relief was applying damp toilet paper with cold water, and even that was only temporary. Never again!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This item did not work for me. Before using this product, I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with a yeast infection. I received a prescription that worked very well. However, a week later, I felt vaginal irritation, so I decided to try the Monistat. Before I tried the Monistat, I wasn't uncomfortable or in pain. After using Monistat 1, my condition got worse than how I initially felt. I used it overnight, and the next morning I felt extreme dryness and irritation, which is how I felt before I went to the doctor and was treating my yeast infection. This item did not work and caused my infection to feel worse."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Lava doesn't have a thing on this stuff. Within a few minutes of my inserting this giant 'pill,' I felt an irritation that seemed 'wrong.' I dismissed it because the information provided said there might be minor burning and cramping. I went to bed believing that would be the most discomfort I would feel. Boy, was I wrong. A couple of hours later, I woke up with burning so bad I had to jump in the shower to try to wash out the medication. It didn't work. While I got a little relief, I still felt horrible burning and irritation throughout ALL my lady parts. DON'T USE THIS STUFF!!! I'd rather have to apply a smaller dose of the cream for 7 days than even consider using Monistat 1 ever again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "UPDATE: I just spoke to a nurse with Monistat at their toll-free number, and she said to soak in a cool bath or take a cool shower and gently wash the excess ointment off. Do not use soap to do this, as it will further irritate the skin. Do not use the cool wipes or lotion that came in the package. She recommended using the 3-day or 7-day next time, as it is less potent. You have to wait to 'get busy' for seven days anyway, so might as well use the 7-day next time. Perhaps they have a new chemist on staff who messed up?!?"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've used this product 3 times. The first was a burning, itching, horrifying experience. I realized that this may be the cream that was causing irritation. So later on, when I got the 2nd yeast infection, I used it again and decided not to use the cream, I used the egg. The experience was so much better. There was no burning and no itching. I think the cream has a weird reaction with the acidity of the vagina, as well as the bacterial imbalance. So I recommend not using the cream when using this product. It just irritates it more. The egg does the job well."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is the worst product ever! I used the 1-day ovule, and I feel like there is a lighted match along with a giant stalk of poison ivy shoved up my nether regions. It's 10 times worse than the YI itself, I can't even sit down. Opt for the 7-day treatment."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am pretty happy with this product overall. I am 42 years old and have had only 4 or so yeast infections. I started having symptoms on a Monday, but by the time I realized what it was and bought this product, it was late Tuesday. I inserted it and laid down to take a nap around 2:00. I still had a lot of burning and irritation. So I decided to use the sitz bottle I got from the hospital from childbirth, but any squirt bottle would work. So every time I peed, I would wash with warm water. This helped a ton. By Wednesday, not much change. Still had burning. The cream that came with the kit didn't seem to help much. So I decided to use Vaseline. Brilliant! By Thursday, much better and Friday gone!"
