"I was prescribed this drug for overactive bladder after a urolift procedure. It was completely ineffective and caused more problems than it solved. The main problem being constipation. And with being constipated and pressing on the bladder, it was making the OAB worse. Discontinued the drug, but it has a long half-life of 48 hours and took 2 days to clear the system. Found ciprofloxacin to treat an underlying infection and a stool softener much more effective. I certainly wouldn't recommend it."

"In the first place, there are two kinds of this medicine: one with a bigger size tablet and the other original small size tablets. The bigger size, with the same name and dose, feels like a fake tablet and doesn't work at all. The original small size tablet does its work. This is serious and has to be looked at. For this reason, I stopped using it."

"I have been taking 5 mg of solifenacin for 2 months. It certainly helps me to not get up three times a night, but doesn't help during the day. It is easy to take this small pill. I will have to stop taking this because my eyesight has become very blurry. I can barely read the subtitles on TV. In the beginning, I put this down to having laser treatment for glaucoma recently. The other pesky side effect is a continually sore throat and dry mouth. The sore throat is not the same as the one you get with a cold, it is more on the roof of your mouth, and nothing relieves it. A friend started to take solifenacin on my recommendation, but she stopped two days ago, and her sore throat has gone completely. I also had sharp pains in my shoulder through the back around my rib area, and it felt as if I had a lung problem."

"I have had an overactive bladder for my whole life. This medicine is the only one that has helped me, and I have had zero side effects from it. I have been taking this for 5 years now. No issues. Still on the 5 mg dose."

"3 days in on 10 mg per day, bloodshot, dry and sore eyes, vision problems, dry mouth, severe headaches, nausea, constipation, flu-like symptoms, helped with frequency, but I'd rather pee every 1/2 hour than feel like this :(("

"Just got this medicine, solifenacin, today, and I feel like a new person. I thought I’d never get out of that bathroom!!! My mouth is dry, and I feel a little tired, but that’s fine!! Miracle drug."

"Really helped with bladder sensations of having to go frequently, some days that was 30 times a day. Now, months later, waking up with a very dry mouth, red streaks, and soreness in my throat. Have to call the doctor, as my throat is worse and getting redder each day."

"Lying here with the worst back pain ever, sharp pain in lower back. My eyes have been really blurry today, and an odd empty feeling in the pit of my tum. And that's after four 5ml tablets over four days. I am not going to take anymore."

"Suffered urge incontinence for over 40 years. Now 77. Pelvic floor exercises, as advised by G.P., did not work, and incontinence (mild) and frequency, especially at night, was an increasing problem. Saw a consultant who prescribed solifenacin, and the improvement after a month is good - get up once a night instead of 3-4 times, so sleep better. Problem is side effects! Dry mouth and nasal passage not really a problem, but blurred vision and being dazzled by bright sun, car headlights when driving, plus some cognitive deterioration and constipation is proving a bit of a worry. Not sure if I will carry on long term."

"I was prescribed this by my GP because oxybutynin gave me diarrhea and mirabegron did nothing for me. I agree with other reviewers that solifenacin gave me immediate constipation and blurred vision. After four days, I gave up as my stomach and abdomen were huge, my back was strained, and I had a massive migraine (scary). It eases the frequent urination, but I would have needed a double dose to see its full potential. For the side effects, not worth trying."

"I have been prescribed solifenacin for overactive bladder, but within 2 days I was constipated. I kept up the dose while trying to alleviate the bowel problem. Eventually, I stopped the solifenacin after 4 days of dosing, and then 3 days after that, my bowel responded after it had been helped with natural stimulants such as prunes and licorice. Solifenacin has a long half-life, so I think I have now resumed dosage but will take 2 on 2 successive days, then another 3 days later. The OAB was not excessively bad, so I will see how it responds before my next visit to the specialist and whether the night trip(s) to the toilet becomes a thing of the past."

"I already take Myrbetriq, and we added this on to see if it would help with the frequency. I have been taking it for two months now, and so far, unfortunately, it has done nothing. My doctor said we could try other stuff when I go to my next appointment soon. So I pray I find relief soon."

"Shame I'm having to stop taking this as it really did help with my frequency of UTIs. But the constipation is becoming too much of an issue. Two weeks after stopping, I'm still struggling to poop on my own without laxatives."

"My husband took these tablets for 3 days from 2/9/21 to 4/9/21 and found he couldn’t even walk to the end of his garden by the 3rd day. His acid reflux was worse and found he couldn’t even keep food down as it was getting stuck in his esophagus. On October 1st, he was diagnosed with cancer. Wouldn’t recommend these tablets."

"Night one: Shaky legs at first, but slept throughout the night. I have pelvic floor disorder. I will take it as needed. Still a little bit of urine each time I pee at times, but to have not as much bladder pressure during the day and slept throughout the night was so thankful. Saw stars when I bent down in the morning, probably affecting my blood pressure. Took it around 10:15 pm, was up since 5:40 am for work. I feel it’s a miracle drug because I was so miserable before with the constant bladder pressure and waking up to not completely empty my bladder. So far, side effects are feeling tired, shaky legs, and seeing stars (low blood pressure). I couldn’t stand my constant waking up and bladder pressure, so I took medicine, which I normally don’t do because of side effects. This is a real review. To notice improvement in just one dose of 5 mg seems amazing. I was hugely constipated, but there are always Fleet enemas, although not sure if you can take them with this medicine."

"After taking solifenacin for just a few days, my nighttime trips to the toilet reduced to 3 times when previously it had been as many as 6 times. I hope it will reduce those trips even further. The only negative effect has been slight constipation, easily put right by prunes."

"So disappointed, was on solifenacin for three months, but the heartburn was getting it several times a day. Altered my bowels, harder to go. Also gave me dry mouth and cough, and worse, awful tired. Helped my trips in the night, just wish not so many side effects. Could cope with dry mouth, but not the others."

"I have had a questionable experience with the medication. On the one hand, it definitely helped me with the tension in my stomach and urinating frequency, but didn't help with my incontinence after peeing. Overall, I think it's a good medication, but solifenacin alone is not enough."

"I am 69 years old and have been taking 10 mg for 5 years. I have OAB and stage 2 CKD. I used to have urgency you would not believe. Sometimes couldn't make it to the toilet in time to avoid urinating-day or night. Allows me a fairly normal life."

"I started taking this for urinary frequency, about every 45-60 minutes day and night. It did help, and I actually got 4 hours of sleep, but on day 17, I started itching all over my torso, so I stopped taking it. I have some anti-itch cream from my doctor, and 4 days later, I am still no better. I’m hoping this will clear up now I’ve stopped taking solifenacin, as it’s unbearable. The only other side effect I got was dry mouth, which I could cope with."

"Been taking 5 mg for 9 days except one day as agreed with doctor took 10 mg definitely helped with weeing all the time. Now I find it hard to see a lot, have lower back pain, am tired, so much constipation, and feel anxious, and am waking up at night feeling anxious. Pharmacist suggested halving the pill or taking it every other night. I am worried if this will make my weeing start again. I do not know what to do for the best."

"My personal experience with the product has been quite good so far. I have been using the product 'Arusol 5 mg,' and I have noticed significant improvements in my bladder control and urgency. The only thing that has not improved is my incontinence. Overall, I can say solifenacin is a good product without side effects on my behalf."
