Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "My doctor prescribed Ozempic for me at the beginning of January, starting at the .25 mg dose and working up to the 1 mg dose, which I have been on for a few weeks now. I have seen noticeable improvements in my glucose levels, which are now at a normal range, which they had not been for years. It was also prescribed to help with weight loss. I have not found it to be particularly helpful in this regard. I am losing small amounts of weight, but a lot of this has to do with a modified diet that is conducive to weight loss. The side effects I have experienced and continue to experience are stomach cramps and diarrhea, sulfur burps, some constipation, lightheadedness, and dizziness, which is the worst one for me. I was at the hairdresser today, and on leaving I almost passed out and had to go back inside to sit down, and there was a big fuss, etc., etc. It was very embarrassing and scary. I so desperately want to lose weight and think that it will eventually work for me, so I am going to keep taking it."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Taking Ozempic due to type 2 diabetes and high CRP. Initially had minor stomach issues, which were resolved quickly. Unfortunately, once at a 1 mg dose, I experienced blurry vision due to a branched retinal vein occlusion. I stopped the medication for a 6-month period, recently restarted, keeping my dose at 0.5 mg, not having any issues with stomach or eyes. My blood sugar levels are great, need to check my A1C, but am confident it will be good. I like the once-a-week shot, otherwise, I was popping supplements multiple times a day. I still watch my carb/sugar intake when I eat. My appetite is near non-existent and tend to eat small portions, so weight is reducing, which is a benefit. I'm grateful for this medicine, it works, and fortunately, my co-pay is small, otherwise, it would be unaffordable."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Been taking Wegovy for 2 months now. First month, very little side effects & lost 14 lbs. Second month, moved up to the 0.5 dose. Stomach issues started, mainly rumbling noises with diarrhea/constipation. Has gone on for weeks now (not days), so have referred myself to my GP."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I am a 68-year-old male with Type 2 diabetes. I tried Ozempic .025 low dose, to also lose weight. Have been on it for 5 weeks and have had an upset stomach and constipation since the beginning. Only lost 6 lbs. To me, the side effects of always feeling sick and not hungry, which for me led to tiredness and fatigue, even though I take vitamins, is definitely not worth it. Blood sugar went down below 100 for the first 3 weeks but has gone back to upper normal, 140-150 since then. Not worth it to feel sick all the time. I am quitting this stuff."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "6-7-2022: I am about to start my eighth week on Wegovy: first four weeks at 0.25 mg, second four weeks at 0.5 mg, and starting 1.0 mg this week if I can get the medicine. My pharmacy is having difficulty getting it. The first week was difficult. I started on a Thursday evening and had diarrhea for two days straight and accompanying upset stomach. I took Friday off from work and was sick on Saturday. On Sunday, I felt better but very tired and stayed in bed all day. I was feeling better by Monday and Tuesday. Since then, few side effects. I lost 5 lbs. the first month and 7 the second, averaging my doctor's goal of 6 lbs./week. I'm so glad to be moving in the right direction. I'm 5'2" and weighed 260 at my highest. I lost 30 pounds a couple of years before COVID hit and had kept it off (a major triumph) but had gained back 10 of those pounds before starting Wegovy."

Semaglutide "I have been taking Ozempic since July of 2024 to treat my obesity. I am currently taking a 0.5 ml injection, and the side effects for me were minimal. I had some stomach cramping and surprise bouts of diarrhea for the first 3 months after the day of injection, but I continue at the same dosage, and so far, there have been no further side effects. In total, I have lost 94.6 lbs so far using Ozempic, and I feel so much better about myself and my appearance. The cravings for sweet snacks and the urge to overeat or comfort eat have gone away almost completely. I wasn't sure about the self-injection at first, but it is so easy to do and convenient that I can dose myself at home."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Some side effects of semaglutide may occur that usually do not need medical attention. Acid or sour stomach, belching, excess air or gas in the stomach, feeling pressure in the stomach, heartburn, passing gas, stomach discomfort, swelling, tenderness, or upset. I did lose 35 pounds in 3 months, and my A1C was 6.5."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I just started taking this med for my type 2 diabetes. It seems to work well for diabetes, but the side effects are my main concern. I've only been on the low dose for a week, and during that week, I spent 3 days throwing up, and my stomach has been upset. Since then, I haven't been able to eat much without having a constant burning in my stomach. Overall, it's keeping my blood sugars more normal now, which is a big plus."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Received the shot yesterday at 3 p.m., and by 6 p.m. I had severe stomach cramps and diarrhea. Around 1 a.m. I started vomiting uncontrollably. I’ve been in bed all day today and had to miss work. All this within 24 hours. I understood there would be side effects, but this is horrible! Would not recommend and will not be continuing this medication."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I have been on Ozempic for 3 weeks now. I notice I get full faster and do not think of eating as much. I have had constipation with it even though I take a bowel softener and laxative. I had trouble yesterday and felt like my bowel almost got blocked up. Had not gone in two days and got severe stomach cramps. I finally did go with a lot of straining. Went a whole lot at one time. I have not lost any weight yet so far. I am going to check with my doctor on Monday. I am on 0.5 dose every week."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Ozempic 0.25 mg since last March. Had a lot of stomach problems for the first 3 months and stopped for a month to calm my stomach. Lost 16 pounds in the beginning, but that has come to a standstill. I have noticed, besides stomach issues, mood swings, mild depression I didn't have prior, fatigue, and still ongoing stomach issues. I will probably stop. While it notes there are cardiology benefits, for me, it's just not worth the side effects. My advice is to make sure you keep in touch with your doctor and tell them how you are feeling."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I am type 1 diabetic, have COPD, and am overweight due to steroid prescription. Since starting Ozempic, my weight is going down, as is my blood pressure. My O² levels are staying up, and I have more energy. We started a higher dose 2 days ago, and I am having some stomach issues, but hoping that will subside in the next couple of days. All in all, my experience with Ozempic has been very positive."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "This is a horrible drug. I thought I was dying, my stomach hurt so bad. I'd be in a ball on the couch. I had headaches, constipation, vomiting, could not eat, lost 20 lbs so fast, my skin sagged. Do not take this medication."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have started Ozempic February 2020. I experienced severe stomach problems, constipation, my sense of smell became too sensitive. I couldn’t eat any kind of meat, eggs, or vegetables because the smell of them was revolting. Gradually, my intake was bread, cheese, and sweets, so weight loss was slow with a lot of carbs that were easy to digest. Since I had depression and previous reflux disease, my doctor kept telling me it is all in your head. I developed piles (hemorrhoids) because of the abuse of laxatives. Cramps in my large intestine were so severe that I begged my doctor I might have cancer. As I stopped Ozempic, I felt an enormous pressure leave my digestive system. Now I have another problem, I lost 8 kilos by Ozempic from February 2020 till October 2021. Two weeks after stopping Ozempic, I gained 4 kilos again, and I have an enormous appetite."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I was prescribed Ozempic for Type 2 diabetes to help lower my blood sugar and to help with weight loss. The first week wasn't so bad, just a little fatigued and some upset stomach problems. The second week it kicked in overtime and hit me like a brick wall. I had no energy at all. Stayed in bed because it's all I could do. My stomach was so upset and nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea were so bad, it ran like water. I became more dehydrated with less energy. I have 4 autoimmune diseases and this was the sickest I have ever felt in my life. I almost went to the ER and if not for Covid, I would have. It felt like someone had been feeding me rat poison. It's the worst feeling ever. I truly don't know how this drug was approved by the FDA. I plan to take myself off it. Weight loss and blood sugar need to be done in a healthier manner. Lose weight fast and easy has consequences."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "My first week, I felt tired and had no energy. Mild, intermittent nausea. Guess that's the appetite suppressant part. After the first 3 days, I started getting quite a bit of stomach discomfort and diarrhea. Anything I ate or drank went right through me, as well as gas. Also, an unusual amount of belching. Hope this goes away soon and does not happen after every dose. I teach 4-year-olds, and it greatly affected my ability to do my job. My BS numbers are not much different."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "It has been a month on Ozempic. So far, so good. I have had stomach issues, but not severe. My appetite has changed, which is also helping. I've lost about 8 lbs. This week I went up to the 0.5, my sugar numbers are fantastic. I had an average of 145-160 for fasting, and I am now around 100-113. I am due for an A1C check in a couple of months, super curious to see the change. I am currently 6.6, I am hoping to be down to 6.0. The stomach issues do get better if you can get past the first 4 weeks. I also have heart disease, which stemmed from poor diet and uncontrolled diabetes. I will take the stomach issues for controlled sugar all day long. :)"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Serious stomach issues, cramping, bloating, severe constipation, nausea, no appetite, rashes, pain in the upper and lower bowel, gas. Loss of too much weight, no taste for food. Have had previous trouble with colitis and diverticulitis but still prescribed this medication. Only have 1 kidney and now afraid it may be damaged. I have been on this drug for approximately 7-9 months. Now worried, but the doctor is not concerned enough to take me off this medication."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have lost about 15 lbs from my first vial. This was at 13 weeks. I have noticed really bad heartburn. Now on the second vial, I went up to 0.75 mg from 0.50 mg, and on the first day, yesterday, I had terrible stomach cramps and diarrhea. Not 100% sure it is related to the medication, but it started after getting the injection."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I started on Ozempic when my health professional informed me I was pre-diabetic and had high cholesterol. Because I wanted to lose some weight, I asked her if I could try Ozempic, and she agreed to write the prescription for me. I've been on Ozempic since mid-April 2023, and I've had some success. I've lost 8 pounds since starting, but like many people, I've experienced nasty side effects, for example, sulfur burps, gas, and stomach discomfort. Although I've had these side effects, they have not been that serious, and I'm able to deal with them. I've tried increasing my dose to 0.5 mg, but the side effects got worse, and considering that my appetite and my cravings have decreased, I've decided to stay at 0.25 mg. I do find, however, that the day before my next dose, my appetite comes back. I need to be more mindful when that happens, and old habits are hard to change. I see a dietitian to help me plan balanced meals. In conclusion, I've stuck with Ozempic."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started semaglutide in March of 2023. I immediately lost all of my appetite and lost weight. I have tried every diet out there in the past, and none were successful. I am 65 years old and have joint and heart issues, so I felt that the benefits outweighed the negative effects. As of today, I have lost 38 lbs. It has not been easy. I have had nausea, mild vomiting, and stomach discomfort. My appetite has been mostly nonexistent. For most meals, I have only been able to eat 3-4 bites of food without feeling like I am stuffed. All in all, I would still recommend it. I am proud of my weight loss and have recently joined a gym again. I want to work on regaining muscle mass and make sure I don't gain the weight back. My biggest fear is gaining the weight back after all I went through to lose it. There are no real guidelines on how long or at what dose to stay on after losing the desired amount of weight."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I unfortunately had a very severe reaction to Ozempic. I usually do suffer side effects from most medications, but thought I would give it a try. The first two weeks were headache, general stomach ache, and constipation lasting 2 days after each injection. Weeks 3 and 4 got worse. Stronger reactions, lasting longer. Week 5, I started the double dose, and I was pretty ill for 2 days. Week 6 and 7 was rough, but I thought I could ride it out. Week 8 had me in emergency twice for diarrhea, vomiting, headache, and major dehydration. I was unable to eat or drink anything. I had to get rehydrated and be given anti-nausea meds on both occasions. I guess my body slowed the release of food so much I had a massive buildup to the point even a sip of water made me extremely nauseous. Ozempic is not for me."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I'm on my 4th week, and so far, the only thing I've experienced is stomach discomfort and diarrhea. My stomach usually turns the day of and after the injection, and I have a few days of diarrhea. I must admit that spicy food may have contributed to it a few times. My appetite is light, and my 5th dose will be an increase in milligrams. So, I don't know if the higher dose will come with more side effects. I inject myself in my upper arm because I have less fat there, and I want to get the full effects of the medication."
