Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I just started this drug on Thursday. It’s now Monday, and I have lost 7 pounds, however, I feel miserable. Today it’s overwhelming dizziness, but previously it was nausea, bloating, and stomach pain. No appetite whatsoever, extreme fatigue, and insomnia! I had six stents placed in my heart arteries on July 22. I was hiking on the 20th and needed to be rescued from the trail. My blood glucose at rescue was 33. I was put on insulin in the hospital and prescribed a cardiac cocktail of six different meds, four of which caused some dizziness and light sensitivity, which had improved over four weeks to the point that I was walking an hour a day. I’ve barely left the house since Thursday. I will not take another dose of Ozempic. PS: the insulin was working well, I was down to 3 units, three times a day of Humalog (from 8 units x 3) and 9 units of Basaglar (from 25), plus 500 mg x 2 of Metformin."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started with 0.5 mg twice a week as a once-a-day eater with portion control issues. Looking to lose about 20 pounds. On day 1, I had nausea, by day 3, the nausea worsened, and I had bad diarrhea. After the second injection, I experienced heartburn, acid reflux, gas, and diarrhea. The worst side effects by far, though, are the stomach being bloated and cramping. It's like it has food in it that is not being digested and sits there with more and more stomach acid being produced. This is my second missed day of work because of stomach pain and nausea. I am going to start exercising and focus on eating less and avoiding cravings for me. Semaglutide is going in the trashcan. My digestive tract has never been so confused. I am a 37-year-old male, 6'3'', 200 lbs."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I am on my 3rd month of taking Ozempic. No decrease in A1C as of yet. Weight loss, none. Ease of use, I find handling the needles cumbersome. The needles are smaller than Trulicity and less painful to inject. Less bruising at the injection site. Current side effects: nausea, stomach pain, stomach discomfort, swelling, bloating, increased constipation, increased hunger, sour stomach, headaches. I find I am forced to take additional medication/supplements in attempting to eliminate some of the side effects. I've taken stool softeners and laxatives in order to improve constipation with limited success. I am taking a pain reliever almost daily for headaches. I am also taking medication to help ease the nausea with limited success."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been taking this medicine for the past 4 weeks (0.25) and have been very sick. I have very bad stomach pains with a 'cramp' on the lower left side of my abdomen. Also, I have a weird feeling and a lot of stomach pain. The nausea is so bad it prevents me from eating. I can't stand the smell of food right now, which is not good for my diabetes. I am also very sensitive to oral diabetic medication and was wondering if my doctor should have prescribed this. I am not overweight, so I do not need this for weight loss, only sugar level control. I will not advance to the 0.5 doses. As a matter of fact, I am stopping this medicine altogether. I cannot continue to take medicine that is supposed to help but makes me so sick."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Warning, this stuff will make you sick. I have been taking this for 2 months. In the first month, I had terrible diarrhea. It got so bad I ended up going to the hospital. I told my doctor, and he said he doubted it was Ozempic, so I tried it again in the 2nd month on a higher dose, and the 2nd week in, again I was terribly ill, vomiting for 4 days straight with intermittent diarrhea and feeling absolutely awful. My night sleep is very broken with stomach pains, increased wind, nausea. I'm now stopping using it."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "T2D 15 years, morbidly obese. At the 3rd week at a dose of 0.5, I was unable to keep water down or take other medications. Other side effects were sulfur belching, burning acid, and pain in the stomach and up the throat, brown water vomit. Unable to sleep more than 2 hours at a time. Blood sugars as high as 345. Lost weight because I couldn't eat, but no appetite anyway. Constipated for days. Then had a bowel movement and horrible effects eased. Started at 325 lbs, lost 22 lbs. Couldn't handle any more and stopped taking it. Consulted the doctor and restarted after 3 weeks. Manageable up to the 3rd injection, and horrible symptoms started again. Going through all the same dramas again. Will quit for good now! Weight loss not worth it!"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I took only 2 pills of 3 mg of Rybelsus. The second night, I had severe stomach pain, like severe sharp pain on the lower right side. So bad I screamed softly. Could not sleep even with a sleeping pill. Today, the third day, I still feel stabbing pains even though I did not take another pill. I will not take this anymore. I hope this pain goes away and it is not serious."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I do not recommend this medication, Ozempic!! I took the first dose of 0.25 and was okay, and it was for weight loss. I felt very dizzy two days after the shot, but I pushed through. The second week of 0.25, right after I took the second injection, I got the worst indigestion I’ve ever had in my life that felt like someone was ripping my chest and back apart. I ended up vomiting and felt better. Two days later, I woke up nauseous. This went on all day, and then stomach pain and diarrhea started. I ended up vomiting again, and instead of relief, the pain got worse! I ended up at the ER with gastroparesis. Besides childbirth, this was the worst pain I’ve ever experienced. I will never take this medicine again. Once you take it, you can’t get it out of your body until it wears off!!"

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "My dr gave me this drug for weight loss. Omg, I took a higher dose than I was supposed to. But for the first two weeks taking it, I was so sick in bed. Now it’s been about 3 weeks since I took it, and I'm absolutely miserable. Have to constantly lay down. Dizzy, nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, and my whole body just feels horrible. If this happens to you, drink tons of water, that seemed to help me a little. But I cannot wait for my body to go back to normal and never take this drug again. It’s been a horrible experience."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I did not have a good experience with Ozempic. Other than a 35 lb weight loss in 4 months, there is nothing else good I can say about it. From the first dose, I’ve had nausea and dizziness. The second dose has been a rollercoaster of constipation, stomach pain, fatigue, with continued nausea and dizziness. I’m constantly sick, I can’t eat anything more than a couple of bites of food. Nothing tastes the same, and the smell of food makes me head to the bathroom with nausea. So going out to eat is only a memory now. I do not recommend this medication. This cannot be healthy for anyone. I’ve stopped taking the Ozempic and am wondering if these side effects will end, they say it takes 5 weeks to leave your system. I’m counting the days!!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "This is the third month of being on semaglutide and the second time I have had severe gut issues... pain so bad I cannot stand up straight, and this has been going on for three days now. Second time this has happened. I cannot stand how this medication makes you feel, either. It is horrible. And yes, it makes you lose weight because you cannot eat, so you are literally starving yourself, so of course, the weight comes off. The one thing that is not talked about is the fact that when you go off this medication, you will put the weight back on. Period. So, this is not affordable for most, makes you feel absolutely horrible... nausea, stomach pain, blurred vision, irregular heartbeat, nightmares, and the list goes on. My husband tried this as well and had to stop because it caused hypoglycemia with him, he could not remember what he was doing, think straight, brain fog. He had to stop taking it, and I am about to stop taking this as well. I am sick of feeling sick on this medication!"

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I started Ozempic for weight loss. I took dose 1 of 0.25 week 1 and had a little nausea. I took dose 2 on Saturday morning when I was supposed to. On Sunday, I felt terrible with nausea. Sunday night, I was vomiting and had diarrhea with major stomach pains. These symptoms have now lasted 6 days. My body is in so much pain and discomfort from vomiting and diarrhea and unable to eat or drink. I would never recommend this drug to anyone. The side effects are so terrible that I would not want to take the chance. I’m hoping these symptoms will go away soon."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Worst experience of my life. After the second 0.25 dose, I was up all night vomiting and diarrhea. The next day, I had chest pain, shaking, brain fog, stomach pain, more diarrhea, and had to go to the ER. After they gave me Benadryl and morphine, I started to feel better. Still have burping, gas, and acid reflux terribly. WILL NEVER TRY THIS AGAIN! It is not worth it to me! Wish it would hurry up and get out of my system."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I'm on my second week with the starting dose of 0.25, and the nausea has been overwhelming. I can't see that my blood sugar is going down much so far. Along with the nausea are stomach pain and feeling full very quickly after eating. I had to ask my NP for nausea medication, which is having its own weird side effect of making me feel wide awake at 4 a.m. instead of the usual side effect of drowsiness. I'm a mess right now! My NP did say that we might have to consider something else if the nausea doesn't go away. After reading some of the other side effect horror stories, I'm not sure I want to continue too much longer."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I rarely ever have side effects from any drugs that I have taken before. After my second dose, I began extreme side effects of stomach pain, bloating, sour belching, flatulence, diarrhea, zero appetite, and indigestion. These symptoms have not gone away after 10 days of discontinued use. It definitely lowered my daily sugar levels. You can use this medication if you are okay with feeling like death."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "WORST injection to take. Ended up in ER with severe stomach pain, where the pain is burning, sharp cramps… Been dealing with this pain for nearly 2 weeks now, and it won’t go away. I have taken almost 9 days off work and cannot commute to travel. The weight loss is great, but the consequences are brutal. Would not recommend this to anyone. Not sure how long this pain is going to last, but anything prescribed is ineffective, including endone… A natural way of losing weight is the best, at least we can still enjoy life without these harmful consequences."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "My doctor started me on .50, and I started the first day. The next day, I had burping, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, and back pain. It’s been a week, and I’m still sick. My doctor stopped me from using this medication. I can’t recommend it for other people to use Ozempic, it has terrible side effects."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "This medication started off okay for the first week, then all hell broke loose. Stomach pains, stomach bloating, a feeling of nausea but cannot bring up, dizziness, and a feeling of severe unwellness. Finally admitted to the hospital where a blood sugar doctor stopped the use immediately and put me on to tablets."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I took Ozempic last October, but I had to come off it - I was so ill. I'm type 2 diabetic and Hashimoto's thyroiditis autoimmune disease. I'm 57 years old and post-menopause. The doctor decided I should try again, I started 5 weeks ago and had my 5th injection. I have been sick since I restarted. I have nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, brain fog, anxiety, burning in my stomach, headaches, and I'm so tired and weak. I tried to stick with it, I'm on the 3rd day since my 5th injection. I am so ill, I still have all the above symptoms, but worse. My kidneys are sore and my lungs. I have pain in my stomach and back. I feel like my body is poisoned, and I have to wait for 5 weeks for it to clear out of my system. I will never take this again."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Diabetic & prescribed Ozempic .25 once weekly for a month & .50 once weekly for the 2nd month. Then increased to 1. 1xwkly thereafter. By the time I hit the first week on .50, I was having daily nausea. I called the provider & was told to start the .50 to see if my body could adjust. By the 2nd dose, I had severe daily nausea culminating in volatile vomiting to the point I was severely limited in maintaining daily activities. I made the decision to stop the medication & notified the doctor that my body could not handle it. By this time, I was experiencing constant belly pain. It hurt to drink water & eat as I would throw it up. This was the worst experience & I was agitated that it will take 5 long weeks to clear my system. I'm thinking it should have stopped sooner."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I stuck with it, hoping it would get better after 5 weeks. It got worse: diarrhea, feeling like I have the flu 24/7. Dizzy and the worst pain in my body and stomach... It's really not worth taking it for weight loss, you lose your whole life because you can't even do anything because you feel so bad."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I was put on Ozempic after taking Glimepiride for several years. I started on 0.25mg, then onto 1mg. I started having the nastiest burps ever, then diarrhea 3 to 4 times a day. After 3 months, I went to a gastroenterologist and was diagnosed with gastroparesis, a side effect of Ozempic. I have all the side effects - nasty, offensive-smelling burps, eye floaters in both eyes, bad diarrhea, stomach pain, and now this disease that has caused precancerous cells. Yes, my appetite has decreased, I have lost 15 lbs in 3 months, and my numbers are good. But it's not worth being sick every day. I just found out my daughter is going through the same exact thing. So, take it at your own risk."
