Semaglutide "I have been on Ozempic for 5 full months to help me lose weight. In that time, I have lost exactly 60 pounds (I had about 100 to lose). I was on 0.25 mg for 6 weeks, moved up to 0.5 mg thereafter, and have been on 1 mg for the past 4 weeks. I certainly experience stomach pains, headaches, absolutely no appetite, severe constipation, feel full almost immediately after eating more than 3-4 bites, and I am not sleeping as well. As of right now, the benefits are outweighing the negatives. I do not plan to stay on Ozempic long term because the possible thyroid cancer/tumors scare me. I am nervous upon stopping Ozempic that the weight gain will come right back."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "At the start, I didn't read the instructions carefully. There are two needle covers. I only took one off. The first two .25 doses may or may not have been injected. I've now been on the .5 dose for three weeks. I have longstanding GERD. My blood sugar finger sticks first thing in the morning have gone from 150 to 125, roughly. I have stomach pain, which I've been addressing with Zantac 150 (I know) and Gaviscon. Also, some constipation. Initially, food just didn't taste good, but that seems to be going away. I'm going to stick with it for a while, as I've seen reviews that suggest the side effects may abate. I've lost about 3 pounds."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have done very well with Wegovy. I am now on the highest dose. This is the 3rd week on the highest dose, and I have lost 25 lbs in 4 months, and I am still losing. I have had some common issues such as nausea, diarrhea in the first month, but that went away. Then in the 2nd month, I had minor stomach pain, and the diarrhea changed to constipation. I am still experiencing constipation but managing it with fiber. Other than these issues, I am happy with the medication, and I feel so much better!"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have had stomach pain. It also may be contributing to some constipation. I have IBS-D, but it actually reversed it some to almost constipation. It has helped me lose about 10 pounds, which is good for all my health. My diabetes has become more manageable, not so wild of swings."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Ozempic now for 14 weeks. My readings were very high, could be between 12 and 20, but since I’ve been on Ozempic my readings are down to 6.2, sometimes lower. I feel so much better, and my blood tests are good about my other health conditions. But I have hives, and it’s itchy and driving me nuts. And I have vomited on and off and had terrible stomach pains at first. After a few weeks, that eased off. I can’t eat much, so that worries me, but I’ve lost 12 pounds, so I’m happy about that. I don’t enjoy food anymore, and I have decided to have small meals during the day. Constipation was a problem, but I take a Metamucil fiber tablet each day and now have no problem."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Still early, so this may change as time goes on. I am currently taking 0.5, increasing after the next dose. In the beginning, I had stomach pain and sickness, but these symptoms died down after I learned to eat more protein and not to skip meals. Another thing that bothered me at first was fatigue. I could not keep my eyes open. I slept a lot, and if I had something to do that day, it took everything in me just to make it through the day. These symptoms also subsided after I stopped skipping meals. I would be lying if I told you my choice to start taking Ozempic wasn't to help me lose weight. That was one of the major selling factors for me. Anyone who knows anything about diabetes knows you do pack on the weight, and any help shedding those unnecessary pounds is a plus. I can't say I have lost a lot of weight yet, but with what little time I have been on Ozempic, I can see a decent decrease in my weight. As for my diabetes, my A1C will tell in time."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have type 2 diabetes and I am obese. I started this medication in November 2023. I stopped using it for three months due to a shortage in the market in my country. I used 0.25mg for the first month, 0.5mg for the next three months, and 1mg for two months. The last dose of 1mg was taken on May 17, 2024. In November, I weighed 91kg, and I have reached 75kg or perhaps even less now. For my health, I feel significantly better while working or going upstairs. Regarding side effects, I experienced tiredness, vomiting, headaches, nausea, constipation, and stomach pain."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am going on week 11 with Ozempic, and have lost 24 pounds. I have had all 5 of the main side effects, nausea, stomach pain, vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation. I am happy with the weight loss, so am learning to manage these. By trial and error, I've found that I can't eat much at one time (don't really want to), need to avoid fatty foods, drink lots of fluids, and take Senna laxative every night for the constipation, and keep Zofran around to help with nausea. Yes, these first few weeks have been difficult, but the weight loss is worth it to me. Plus, the side effects get less the longer I'm on Ozempic. I am currently on 1.0 mg and think that's quite enough. I am rarely hungry and often have to make myself eat. I hope to lose 65 pounds total."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started on January 24 on the 0.25 mg dose for 5 weeks, currently on 1 mg, and have lost a total of 20 lbs exactly as of this morning. It did cause some fatigue, stomach pain, and severe constipation (however, I have dealt with this all my adult life). I am loving how I feel regardless of the side effects. I find intermittent fasting has been so easy compared to prior attempts. I am not exercising more than walking. I am losing weight that I have never been able to lose, and I look forward to continuing until I reach my goal weight and maintain it."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’ve been using Wegovy for 12 weeks. I’m up to 0.50 and staying here. Tried 1.0 and it was too strong. Felt nauseous and experienced painful stomach cramps with 1.0. I have reached my goal weight. I lost 35 pounds and I’m very happy with the process and results. The only negative is, I’m on thyroid medication and noticed hot flashes and heart palpitations I didn’t experience before. I had my levels checked and they are way off! Consulting with my doctor. Not sure if I’ll continue Wegovy."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Been on Wegovy for 7 weeks. Lost 14 pounds. 2nd week into 0.50 mg. It’s a little rough on my stomach. Taking prescription for nausea which happens the day of the injection. Feel tired and occasionally get severe abdominal pains. I can’t eat much and have to really watch the types of food. No greasy foods or spicy or heavy. The intestinal pains were very severe after eating wrong foods. I’m happy with the weight loss but the side effects are rough."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Rybelsus for 11 days now. The first few days were horrible. I had diarrhea and stomach pains, even threw up twice. I am still having side effects on day 11 but not as bad. I’m taking Zofran for the nausea. I have already lost 8 lbs, which I’m sure is not healthy, but I don’t have an appetite on this medication. Before this medication, I would eat all the time, it seemed like I never was full. My sugar levels are as low as they’ve ever been. I am tired and have lower energy. I'm hoping after another week on it the side effects will subside. I have been struggling with weight loss my whole adult life and can never break through the plateau phase. I think this medication will help if I can withstand the side effects."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Started April 1, 2021, on Ozempic low dose. 3-week intervals it was increased. Side effects were constipation (went on laxatives to help), pain in my back (severe), bloating. Week 11 increased to 1mg, the side effects were major bloating, diarrhea, sounds in my stomach (crazy), nauseous, feeling under the weather. My appetite has decreased to the point that I only eat 2 meals a day that are small. My sugar levels have decreased from 7.1 to 5.2 A1C. I’ve noticed that I have been kept awake some nights like I’m nervous for some reason. In the first 3 weeks, I’ve lost 15 pounds. Haven’t checked since I want to wait but can feel a difference. The pains in the stomach are really uncomfortable, and the bloating I will try gas-x for relief. When I try to eat more than I should, my body tells me that I’m full. If I go beyond that point, I get severe pains in the stomach for hours. But depends on what I eat. Going to stay with smaller portions/healthier foods."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Rybelsus for eight months, and I have lost about 34 lbs. I started on the 3 mg dosage, and after two months, moved up to 7 mg, where I have stayed. However, one of the major side effects is slowed gastric emptying, which can lead to extreme stomach pain if you make the mistake of eating too much in a day. After a couple of bad episodes, I had an endoscopy just to be sure nothing else was wrong - but ultimately, my gastroenterologist said that it's just the effect of Rybelsus."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I just got my A1C after 3.5 months on Rybelsus (one month at 3 mg and 2.5 at 7 mg), and I’m very excited that it’s dropped from 7.8 to 6.5! I have had some side effects - mainly stomach pain, gas, and occasional constipation - but the results are worth it. I haven’t had any significant weight loss, but my BMI was under 27 to start with, and because we had Thanksgiving recently, I normally would have gained a couple of pounds. If you have just started and are having side effects, try to hang in there. The first month was the worst for me."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking the .25 a week ago. The first 2-3 days, I had stomach pain, headache, and vomiting, none of which were bad. I took my second shot yesterday, and the gas was awful. The one thing that I really wanted to do was to lose some weight, and so far, I've lost 3 lbs. My appetite is slowly fading, but I have to watch myself because I'm still craving sweets at night. I have to make myself drink fluids, but luckily the one thing I did crave was Cokes, and I don't even think about them anymore. I love this med."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "It helped a lot for 1 year until my paid year ran out through RX of OK. The doctor forgot to fill out paperwork, and I ended up going without it for a little over 3 months. It didn't seem to work as well once I started back up again. But in that first year, I lost 65 lbs. The Ozempic made me nauseous fairly often, so I had the doctor write me Zofran as well. The only other problem I have is stomach pain."

Stomach pain, vomiting for two days after an injection, and general nausea. I may have to stop or go down to 1%."

Semaglutide "At first, all went well. I started at .25, then to .50, but when I went to 1, I started having issues: stomach pain, burping a lot, and strong runny diarrhea lasting for hours. Even after taking Gas-X and Imodium, it did not help. Stopping for now and will restart again in a few weeks at the lower dose. It did help me lose weight, I lost over 30 lbs in 5 months."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started with 3 mg for a month. And I had a few days of feeling sick, but it soon passed. But when I moved onto 7 mg, I started having severe diarrhea and then stomach pains. So I stopped taking it, and my Dr put me back into 3 mg. The good news is my diabetes became more tightly controlled, and I lost weight, which was pleasing. I’m going to ask my Dr to try 7 mg again after being on the lower dose for 3 months now and no side effects."
