Semaglutide "I come from a family that has a long line of diabetes. I have an aunt who they just cut three of her toes off and has died just over Christmas from diabetes. I started off with a dose of 50 clicks. I felt sick within hours and had almost a total loss of appetite. So I skipped the next dose. Week three I went back to 40 clicks on the blue pen. Feeling less nausea, I was eating within a window of 6 hours a day. Feeling satisfied and not much for side effects, I went back up to 50 clicks. After one pen, I lost 17 lbs. For pen 2, I varied my days between injections according to my social schedule as it was the Christmas season. I ate whatever I wanted, sweets and everything. And over the next pen, I lost 1 lb a week. So down another 4 lbs. I'm currently 3/4 through my 3rd pen, and I'm holding at 24 lbs."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started on 0.25 and did not experience any side effects. However, my blood sugar rose from low 100s to 200-300. My dosage was increased to 0.5. I had gas - burping that was very bad smelling and tasting. I had mild heartburn and a decrease in appetite. My blood sugar dropped to the 200 range. My doctor increased my dosage to 1. I had days of debilitating side effects. The side effects gradually decreased. I am still having some side effects, but my blood sugar is now consistently in the mid to low 100s. I am hoping that as I continue the drug, I will have fewer problems and more success."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Overall has lowered blood sugar levels and reduced some other medications. After 6 weeks lost 2 kg. Dosage to date 25 ml, now 50 ml. Decrease in appetite, more tiredness, nauseous at times and belching. Feelings of acid reflux during the night. Hope not to increase dosage to 1 mg after review as I appreciate the ease of use."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "My side effects are not serious. All that I am experiencing is nausea and loss of appetite. I literally have to force myself to eat and drink. The weight is coming off very slowly, but it's okay. I feel it's more inches than the weight. Hopefully, next month will show more. My dosage is 0.5 mg. It's very easy to use. I give myself my own injections once a week."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "No side effects other than loss of appetite and feeling full faster and eating less on lower doses. Good BGL around 100. Once I started 1 mg, I got indigestion, nausea, gas, burping, loose stools, and watery stools. Blamed it on PPI meds for GERD symptoms but continues after I stopped PPI meds. I'm guessing the loose watery stools is the Ozempic at this point. I'm supposed to go to 2 mg weekly but I may not be able to handle it at that dose."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am super tired after the 3rd day, hoping it stops. Also, I can't eat much of anything. More like snacking is all I can do right now. No way I could eat a full meal. 1/4 of a sandwich puts my belly on 100% full. Hope this is normal. Thx."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "BP and blood glucose levels are the lowest they have been in a decade while taking 0.25 mg weekly for a month. However, abdominal pain, nausea, loss of appetite, reflux, and loss of energy have been persistent and, at times, debilitating since starting on the drug. Additionally, heart rate is running 15-20 bpm higher constantly. Not sure the gains outweigh the loss of quality of life."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "My doctor switched my medication from automatic insulin to Ozempic, taken once a week, along with daily long-acting insulin injections. I lost my appetite, my mouth feels tasteless, and no food appeals to me, so I have to force myself to eat. My blood sugar levels have been unpredictable, fluctuating between highs of 250 and lows of 60. One minute it’s very low, and after eating, it shoots up, then drops again. I decided to stop the long-acting insulin last Sunday, at the start of the fourth week when my Ozempic dosage was increased from 0.25 to 0.5. Since then, things have slightly improved—my blood sugar isn’t running too low anymore, but it is still high. During this time, I’ve also developed severe heartburn, sleeplessness (only a few hours of sleep at night), and sluggishness, among other symptoms. I contacted my doctor yesterday."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on semaglutide for 10 months and lost 19 lbs. I lost quickly at first, now it is slowing down over the last 6 months. I did not feel like eating much for the first half, loss of appetite and stomachache. Now I eat and get my stomachache about 1/2 hr after eating and wish I did not eat. I have constipation and take a stool softener once a week and then a mild laxative once a month. My tastes have changed also."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "My BSLs were out of control but almost immediately came under control with Ozempic, with the bonus that I also lost weight. THEN the shortages began, and I think I only managed to get hold of one, maybe two packets over the past year or so - they say it was because so many people were taking it for weight loss. Didn't notice any side effects at my first start, but have just started again, and the first night I had terrible heartburn and also seem to have completely lost my appetite. Bought some Gaviscon for the first and meal replacement shakes for the second and now all good."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Worst prescription drug experience of my life. Was horribly sick for two weeks, struggled through two injections of minimum dosage. Thought I would adjust to the drug, but I did not. Belching sulfur odor, constant diarrhea, no appetite. I would never try this drug again. Metformin works well for me. Just wanted to give it a try."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "On the first day, I had a bad tummy literally 20 minutes after the shot. This lasted about a day. Lots of burping and reflux. I was unable to sleep flat because of the reflux. I get really thirsty at night, almost like a dry burning patch in my throat. I drink a lot of water and suck on Halls sweets to help. After my third dose, I started feeling like I had some weight loss and my face became dry and broke out into a fine rash. I used castor oil to moisturize my face, and it seems to be helping with the rash and dryness. I did lose my appetite or food craving, but I just eat anyway, lots of protein bars for energy. Overall, I think it is good in helping with craving (I have a very sweet tooth). You are forced to drink water, which is very good for a person."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was only able to use 1 injection of semaglutide, the side effects hit me so bad that I couldn’t continue the medication. I got the injection on a Friday, and 2 days later, I had a seizure, which I ended up in the hospital. I had no appetite at all, but the constant headaches and nausea were too much."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I am 20 years old and was diagnosed at age 17 with type 2 diabetes. My A1C started off not bad, I was pre-diabetic for a year and then progressed to diabetes. I’ve been on metformin for 4 years and am currently on 2500 mg. I got my A1C blood test back and it was high, so my doctor recommended Ozempic. I’ve been on it for 5 weeks and it was horrible. I was vomiting nearly every day, had terrible cramps, especially at night, so painful I couldn’t sleep, horrible, disgusting-smelling burps like eggs, and the nausea was horrendous. I haven’t had much of an appetite, sometimes the thought of food makes me feel sick. I’ve lost 6 kg in this time, but I’m not entirely sure it’s worth it. I’m currently on 0.25 mg at the moment and due for an increase to 0.50 mg. I’m not sure if I will stay on it. It’s incredibly hard to find supply as everyone wants it, and it kind of makes me mad that people are taking it off-label when there are genuine people with type 2 who need it."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been taking Ozempic for 16 months. I have lost around 30 pounds and my A1C has gone down from 8.0 to 6.9 - the lowest ever for me. I am taking the once-weekly 1 mg dose. I have experienced loss of appetite, constipation, and depression. I have had sciatica and piriformis pain since July 2022 to the extent that I can barely stand or walk for five minutes. An MRI shows that I have issues with L4, L5, and S1. The pain has not subsided with physical therapy or a piriformis injection. I am now thinking that this pain is one of the side effects of Ozempic. I have had lower back pain on and off for years but never to the extent that I have now. It has seriously affected the quality of my life; I realize that the depression and anxiety are byproducts of a bad quality of life. I am suggesting that this severe pain that I am experiencing could be a side effect of Ozempic since that drug is the only change in my medical plan."
