Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "My doctor suggested I take Ozempic to bring down my weight and lower my chances of becoming diabetic, which runs in the family. I am 67 and trying to stay healthy. Started a month ago on .25, things were okay, some nausea and decrease in appetite. Started this week on .5 and have been extremely sick, two days in and vomiting frequently. Already have acid reflux, and it is getting worse. The most embarrassing part was today, as I was walking in the street, it just came upon me, and I had to find a corner to vomit on-a horrible experience, to say the least. I want to stick it out and hope it will get better, but I'm not sure I can. My doctor projects a two-month regimen. Hopefully, I can make it, but honestly, if things do not improve on my next dose, I will not be taking it anymore. I question the high out-of-pocket cost for a drug that is causing me so much misery."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I was placed on Ozempic last year because Metformin has always caused awful nausea. I have never in my life had any issue with constipation until I started taking this medication. I was so sick with diarrhea and throwing up 3 weeks ago I thought I'd actually die. I have had bad rashes. I think they would have been worse if I were not on allergy medication. The latest rash is healing. I've never had to take laxatives until this medication. I'd rather deal with the nausea than rashes, vomiting, constipation, poor appetite, and legs feeling strange. I wasn't overweight, so that was not an issue. My numbers have never been more than 6.1. Then, when I read that it can cause death, that was the end all for me. It may help someone, but I'm not the someone! Medicine should make one better, not worse. When I first started this drug, I spoke with someone from the company that makes it about the constipation issue and also my doctor. They said that it would get better, but that hasn't happened."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Started with a 0.25mg dose once a week. I am on week 3 of taking it and already noticed a decrease in appetite and sporadic increase in feelings of nausea. I also have noticed that I get full quicker resulting in eating less. Bowel movements are no longer consistent and can vary in type. I have noticed that I have moments where I have no energy. In order to try and improve this, I have been drinking a little orange juice. I continue to drink a lot of water since I also take Jardiance, which will dehydrate you if one doesn't drink enough."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started taking Ozempic in October 2022 for weight loss. Started with 0.5 mg for one month and then increased it to 1 mg. For the first few months, the only side effects were constipation and loss of appetite. However, after a couple of months, I started getting abdominal pains in the upper right quadrant that extended to my back, between my shoulders. The pains would manifest a day or two after the shots and last several hours. It was worse during standing or walking and not a problem when sitting. At the same time, the effectiveness of the drug for weight loss was reduced, and I stopped losing weight. With the combination of the side effects and the lack of weight loss, I started reducing the dosage. I went from 1 mg to 0.75 to 0.5 mg. The side effects continued but were reduced in intensity and duration. Eventually, I stopped taking Ozempic in April 2023. After two weeks without the drug, the abdominal pain is almost gone. Total weight loss was 50 lbs."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "On Ozempic for 6 weeks now. I had two pancreatitis-type pains in my upper abdomen and back. I am extremely tired a lot. I have had low blood sugar under 4 a couple of times and loss of appetite. I get dizzy and lightheaded at times. I am hoping these side effects are temporary. It does curb your appetite, most definitely."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I experienced slight stomach issues, mild diarrhea for about 5 days on and off... no nausea or other side effects except a decreased appetite, but after 3 months my hunger has kind of returned. My blood sugar came down about 60 points... on 7 mg so I am not sure what will happen when I go to 14 mg. Overall, this medicine is very good and very, very expensive."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on it for about a year now. So far, I haven't had much in the way of side effects. The only thing I have noticed is some nausea and reduced appetite, especially when I increase the dose. Constipation also has been an issue off and on. I have experienced the bonus of weight loss while on it, losing 27 pounds so far. It has definitely helped my blood sugar, as I have been able to reduce the amount of insulin needed by 6 units so far, and it is rare I need to use any shorter-acting insulin at all. Pleased with my results so far."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Just started my first dose on Monday. 0.25 mg. 265 lbs 5’4. Ok for a couple of hours. Then I got nauseous and weak. I had to lie down. Day 2 felt like I had a bout of stomach flu. Diarrhea and no appetite. Ate saltine crackers and lots of water. Day 3 now and we went out to eat. I ate a chicken wrap and a Sprite. By the time we got home, I was in the bathroom with diarrhea again. Feel achy and hot! I really don’t want to give up, but if I’m going to feel like this to lose weight, then I’ll stay a plus-size woman. I will report back on Saturday. Today is Wednesday. I know quite a few people who are using this as a weight loss tool. Nothing comes easy. As soon as you stop, the weight comes back. It’s a lifestyle change."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started out on Ozempic in April 2023 weighing 108 kg - .25, then .50. By May 2024, I was down to 68 kg. Major loss of appetite with no side effects. Injection was so easy to do each week. I love that I can go into any clothing store to get clothes now. So, so happy."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Serious stomach issues, cramping, bloating, severe constipation, nausea, no appetite, rashes, pain in the upper and lower bowel, gas. Loss of too much weight, no taste for food. Have had previous trouble with colitis and diverticulitis but still prescribed this medication. Only have 1 kidney and now afraid it may be damaged. I have been on this drug for approximately 7-9 months. Now worried, but the doctor is not concerned enough to take me off this medication."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "One month on Rybelsus. Blood sugar levels are down from 150 to 116-96. I have extreme nausea, constipation, and I am unable to eat more than 1-2 cups of food at a meal. I am rarely hungry. Food seems to become lodged in my esophagus and is painful. I have lost 13 lbs. in a month. Fatigue is an issue. My autoimmune retinopathy, which surfaced after cataract surgery, is worse. I fear I will not be able to continue this med."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’ve had a lot of weight gain over the past two years, which has become impossible to get off. I’m 35, 5’4, and went from 150 lb to 183 lb. Through diet and exercise, I got myself down to 171 lbs but could not lose beyond that. I found out through blood work that I was pre-diabetic. My doctor put me on injectable Semaglutide, 10 units. I’m one week in and I’ve lost 7 lbs! It’s an important 7 lbs because I had not been able to break the 170 threshold. I’m now 163.1. Excited to see what week two has in store for me. Side effects were most prevalent on days 1-3. Days 4-7 were fine, but appetite suppression definitely lessened as the week went on."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been taking this drug for about 8 weeks, starting out with the 0.25 dose and now on the 0.5 dose. I have felt miserable the whole time, with nausea similar to pregnancy and with a revulsion to most food and smells of food cooking. Definitely low energy. I have lost weight, and I haven’t had my A1C checked since I started. I will see my doctor in a couple of weeks and will be telling her that I can’t continue to live this way. I’m 75 years young and don’t want to live the rest of my years feeling bad! Unusual, hiccup-type burps, coming out of nowhere and no appetite. Convenient once-a-week administration."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started on 0.25 of Ozempic, and after a month, increased to 0.50. After 2 months, I had lost 20 lbs. (I was not overweight). I constantly felt nauseous, had no appetite for anything, finally vomiting at random times whether I had eaten or not. Would take a laxative suppository every week because I had no urge ever to go. It did lower my A1C, but wasn't worth the effects. The medication has been changed."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started Ozempic in May of 2021. I lost a total of 30 pounds (330 lbs - 300 lbs) from approx June 6 - August 4th. I also added a keto meal plan and started exercising routinely, exercising approximately 4-5 days a week for 45-60 min. I take the once-a-week SC Ozempic. Initially, when starting Ozempic, I had absolutely no appetite for the first 4 - 6 weeks, but it seems as I increased from the 0.25 dose to the 0.5 dose, my appetite has been raging. I do, however, continue to lose weight with my current diet and exercise regimen. I have a 3-month follow-up coming up soon to recheck my lab levels. Hope this helps!"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I am a 54-year-old overweight male who started taking Ozempic 3 months ago to help control my type 2 diabetes and to lower my A1C. For the first 3 weeks, I took a 0.25 dose weekly and felt okay. Some occasional stomach cramps and nausea. For the past 2 months, I have been taking a 0.50 dose, and side effects have gotten worse. Loss of appetite, stomach pains, feeling nauseous, and uncontrollable diarrhea while sleeping. Yes, that's right... I have been pooping the bed. On the plus side, I have lost over 20 lbs, but at quite a disgusting price to pay. Time to either quit taking this or try something else. I now understand the commercials where the people say 'O.' It's because 'O, I pooped my pants again.'"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on this now for nearly 2 weeks. To help reduce blood glucose levels and boost my weight loss. I've lost 1 lb and have a loss of appetite, also nauseous most mornings if I don't eat after 30 mins of taking meds. Today I ate 2 biscuits with a cup of tea and vomited really bad, which I'm sure is related to this medication. As I feel absolutely fine now. Seems the side effects are the same as the majority here. I'll stick it out and increase the dose in 2 weeks."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been using Ozempic for 12 weeks. Initial physical reactions were terrible, with diarrhea, burping, extreme bloating feeling, loss of appetite. It was terrible, as described by other reviewers. I ran to the washroom 20 times per day in the first 2 weeks at .25. It drained so much of my energy and day-to-day momentum. In two weeks, I lost 10 lbs due to loss of appetite and the diarrhea. At the same time, in 4 weeks, my blood sugar dropped from an average of 8.5 to only 6.2. In week 15 to date, I guess my body has adapted to Ozempic. In week 16, my dose was increased to 0.50. I also dropped one of my diabetes oral drugs. My bowel movements normalized to only 3 times a day. I still have a lack of appetite that I thought would be beneficial for me. For only once a week injection, I will continue having Ozempic."

Semaglutide "I come from a family that has a long line of diabetes. I have an aunt who they just cut three of her toes off and has died just over Christmas from diabetes. I started off with a dose of 50 clicks. I felt sick within hours and had almost a total loss of appetite. So I skipped the next dose. Week three I went back to 40 clicks on the blue pen. Feeling less nausea, I was eating within a window of 6 hours a day. Feeling satisfied and not much for side effects, I went back up to 50 clicks. After one pen, I lost 17 lbs. For pen 2, I varied my days between injections according to my social schedule as it was the Christmas season. I ate whatever I wanted, sweets and everything. And over the next pen, I lost 1 lb a week. So down another 4 lbs. I'm currently 3/4 through my 3rd pen, and I'm holding at 24 lbs."
