For Type 2 Diabetes "My doctor prescribed it as a miracle drug, bought a 0.25 mg kit. My doctor gave me instructions, but I found better instructions on YouTube, so the next day I was ready with all that info. I cooked a light soup, no carbs, no fat, etc. I drank water, washed my hands, cleaned my belly, and did the shot. All was okay. After a few hours, abdominal pain, my eyes started to itch, then blurry vision. I went crazy, wondering what happened to me, went to bed, then the nausea came with a headache. The next days I was sick and did not go away, so I phoned my doctor. She said it's all in my mind and I will get used to it. Now I am afraid of the second injection, is it worth it? Why pay for an expensive drug to get sick? The only positive was that it lowered my morning blood sugar from 100-110 to 88. I take 1000 mg of metformin twice a day. For others, do not use it for the first time and go to work, it's good to do it when you do not have work the next day."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Start it off with the 0.5 dose. Immediately started having dry mouth. It was a terrible experience and lasted about 3 weeks. I started using Biotene and it helped to lessen my dry mouth to some degree. After the first two weeks, I would only have a bowel movement twice per week. I lost about 8% of my body weight in the first month. I started monitoring my weight loss to keep it down to about 1 1/2 pounds per week. Weight loss has been steady the last 2 months. I have abdominal cramps during the first day after my shot, but after that, no real problem if I stay away from fatty foods. What I would like to raise caution about is if you're on any type of blood pressure medicine, I found myself becoming dizzy upon standing. It took a few weeks for me to realize that Ozempic was the cause. I was able to adjust my blood pressure medicine and my blood pressure has stabilized. I would recommend Ozempic for type 2 diabetes, but not just for weight loss."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started on 0.25 for four weeks, had nausea, dizziness, burping nonstop every day, off-the-wall gas, and bloating. Went on 0.5, more or less the same side effects except more abdominal pain. Then went to 1 mg, my skin started feeling like I had a bad sunburn from the waist up. It hurt when clothes touched it. Four weeks later, went on 2 mg. All same symptoms. Then I started having severe neck pain and shoulder pain. Was on 8 months and only lost 16 pounds. A1c went from 7.5 to 5.5, but a lot had to do with eating less. I have EPI, so it was not worth it to me to take it anymore. Also, thyroid cancer runs in my family. Had a friend tell me her friend got thyroid cancer after 3 months, also had a lot of diarrhea. Now I'm off, no symptoms, skin feels better, and sugar around 130."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Been on it for 9 months, off metformin now and lost 30 lbs. A1C from 9.1 to 5.5. Still have nausea, abdominal pain, weakness, constipation, dyspepsia with the injection. I have these for 2-3 days after the injection. It did its job but not sure I can do it long term."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This drug is helpful in maintaining a good blood glucose level. It has helped in lowering my overall weight, which was not working before by diet. At this time, I am on a 1 mg injection, but I feel I am having reactions of nausea, dizziness, bloating, burping, some abdominal pain, and constipation."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "BP and blood glucose levels are the lowest they have been in a decade while taking 0.25 mg weekly for a month. However, abdominal pain, nausea, loss of appetite, reflux, and loss of energy have been persistent and, at times, debilitating since starting on the drug. Additionally, heart rate is running 15-20 bpm higher constantly. Not sure the gains outweigh the loss of quality of life."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Just upped the Ozempic dose to 0.5 after initial 4-week start at 0.25. Abdominal cramps woke me up at 3:00 AM, followed by diarrhea. Post-meal (2 hrs) blood glucose was 89. I hope this gets better."

For Type 2 Diabetes "After being on Ozempic for 3 weeks, I do not believe it is the right medication for me. I have a history of slow digestion issues, which I did not fully realize before I started taking Ozempic. The medication made that worse. I am experiencing constant mild to moderate nausea, sometimes accompanied by excessive gas and abdominal pain. I believe I am at a point where this will be the norm if I continue to take it. I have noticed my blood sugar going down, but I have been able to control it through diet and a bit of exercise in the past. So I am unsure if it is because I can't eat as much because of Ozempic or whether I'm just eating smarter. I am going to stop taking it and try to take what I've learned about eating habits and apply them without Ozempic."
