For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am a 45-year-old woman. Started Ozempic .25 mg dose 6 weeks ago, increasing to the .5 mg dose after 4 weeks. Lost 13 pounds so far, which makes me happy. Started with some nausea, some explosive diarrhea, and a general fullness feeling, and no cravings. Now I’m experiencing more constipation, and after the last injection, a dizziness/lightheaded feeling. Don’t like that at all. It never goes away. Don’t know if it’s related, but also tingling and some numbness in one foot. I’ll try injecting my thigh next time and see if that helps the dizziness because I definitely do not enjoy that feeling. Almost a jittery feeling as well. Weird. So I’m hoping these will improve over time as I am liking the weight loss results so far. I’m wondering if anyone else has had this dizzy/jittery feeling and if it will go away."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started Ozempic just over a month ago (0.25 mg). Needing to lose about 33 lbs. Had some constipation for the first 3 weeks, which has just subsided. Tired some days. Just had my first shot of 0.5 mg. Have lost almost 10 lbs. Happy so far."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've lost about 40 lbs since starting Ozempic 11 months ago. My A1C is now within normal limits, but I still take Metformin. My non-alcohol fatty liver disease has resolved as well. I experienced nausea and vomiting early on in treatment, but that has mostly resolved. I feel hunger less and feel full longer. Constipation is a big problem, so I use an occasional stool softener or eat some prunes to keep things moving. The medication decreases the pleasure I get from food, which is weird sometimes. When I go out of town, I used to look forward to trying a new restaurant, but now it's just 'meh' no matter what I eat. I found that I have more nausea if I inject in the abdomen, so I do it in my arm or thigh instead."

For Type 2 Diabetes "UPDATE: I've been on Ozempic for 6 weeks now. I didn't have any of the major symptoms listed by many, but in my 5th week, I noticed I haven't been able to pass stool as frequently as I normally do. Yes, I was constipated in the 4th and 5th week. I stopped taking Ozempic, and I was normal again. I like this medicine shot except for the constipation part. I did lose some weight over it and inches, which was a big plus. I wish I could keep taking Ozempic, minus the side effect."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I'm in week 6, and I have lost 15 pounds!!!!! Total miracle. I started out at the .25 dose for a month and last week began .5. I have absolutely no appetite. Very easy to stick to a healthy diet. Predominantly low carb but do allow some complex carbs here and there. I eat very small meals--I am full very quickly. I am a little nauseous in the morning, slight constipation, which easily was alleviated with taking daily probiotics, and after going out to dinner the other night and eating what I thought was a small meal, had really bad acid reflux. The food was spicy, and although I didn't eat a lot of it, I ate later than usual. I will never do that again. I fortunately have not had any of the other side effects others mention. I want to lose another 70 pounds, so I am hoping that at the 1 mg dose I can accomplish this. I would think the weight loss will slow at some point. I remain a little nervous about increasing the dose, although I had no ill side effects when last increased."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Was prescribed Ozempic for weight loss because of being insulin resistant and not being able to lose weight (I'm 50 lbs overweight for my height) after a hysterectomy despite working out 5 days a week and eating healthier. I'm on week 3 of a 0.25 dosage, and I'm finally losing weight, 5 pounds so far! No side effects except that I did have some constipation for about a week, but now I'm back to being regular with more water consumption. It did significantly cut back my craving for sweets, however, it didn't completely get rid of it. I noticed my hunger isn't as intense as it used to be. This medication was a last resort for me because I was having no success losing any weight regardless of my consistent efforts with traditional methods for weight loss, which was pretty upsetting. I continue to diet and exercise with this medication, and it has been a great addition to a healthier lifestyle for me!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Taking Ozempic for insulin resistance type A and PCOS. Took 0.25 for the first 4 weeks. Side effects included: severe nausea and flu-like symptoms. Constipation is still a problem. Mild nausea when I upped the dose to 0.50, but taking a generic store-brand nausea medication has helped a lot. Appetite greatly reduced, and I find smaller meals and snacking more frequently throughout the day to be very helpful. My side effects only lasted 1.5 weeks and have not returned with increased dosage. Started at 193 lbs and down to 186.8 lbs in only 1 month. Will continue to take!"

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I've been on Ozempic for 4 months. My doctor tiered the dosage from 0.25 mg for 4 weeks, then 0.50 mg for 4 weeks, then increased to 1 mg for the remaining time. I've just gone in for a check-up and increased to the 2 mg dose beginning this week. Each dose, I experienced some stomach knots, but they resolved after the first day of the adjustment. I did initially have some very mild nausea, but all I needed to do was take a sip of cold water to take care of it. I stress, the nausea was very, very mild. I do have a bit of constipation, but I balance with stool softeners and strict keto (high fat). I've lost 21 pounds to this point, and this medication is the first thing that's controlled my appetite. I used to feel hungry all the time, but now I don't feel like I need to eat all the time. I don't snack all the time like I used to. I was doing everything I was supposed to, I was working out and strict keto. But I was stuck and couldn't lose any more weight. I've gone from 203 to 181."

"I’ve been on Ozempic since May to help with weight loss. Started with 0.25 and now am up to 1 mg. The nausea has been fearless. The constipation is unreal. I’ve ended up with major hemorrhoids. I’m always tired. I have lost 14 lbs, but these side effects are ruining my life. This is not worth it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Been on this for 5 weeks now. Levels are finally starting to stabilize, and I feel more like a human. The nausea has been horrendous, the weight is falling off, 10 lbs so far. Can't overeat or the nausea gets worse, and I throw up. Abdominal cramps were bad week 2 & 3 but are less frequent and not bad too often. Constipation has been hard for sure, I have to take something to help me go. Just increased from .25 to .50 five days ago, and the nausea is hitting me more frequently again. Tums, a fan on near my face, and nausea suckers are so helpful. The side effects can be pretty severe, but I gotta keep trying to push past it. Good luck if you take this."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I did not have a good experience with Ozempic. Other than a 35 lb weight loss in 4 months, there is nothing else good I can say about it. From the first dose, I’ve had nausea and dizziness. The second dose has been a rollercoaster of constipation, stomach pain, fatigue, with continued nausea and dizziness. I’m constantly sick, I can’t eat anything more than a couple of bites of food. Nothing tastes the same, and the smell of food makes me head to the bathroom with nausea. So going out to eat is only a memory now. I do not recommend this medication. This cannot be healthy for anyone. I’ve stopped taking the Ozempic and am wondering if these side effects will end, they say it takes 5 weeks to leave your system. I’m counting the days!!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am on week 6. First 4 doses at .25, and now the second week of .5. I've had the constipation but have learned to just take a laxative once a day with my metformin. This drug brought my sugar down from the 600s to the 90s in 5 weeks. I had an A1C of 17.1, I'm now down to a 9 and can't wait for my next reading. Yes, the cramping and gas have been bad at times, but I'm hoping it mellows out. But for me, it has saved my life more than likely."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Ozempic on June 6, 2019 (weighing 190 lbs) at .50 dose and was very nauseous and ended up throwing up and felt extremely sick all week. The next week I lowered it to .25 and stayed at that dose through July. I bumped it back to .50 and the nausea has been better and controlled with Zofran and Dramamine, but the constipation has been horrible. I can only seem to use the restroom via an enema. I have lost weight, currently at 157 lbs, so it has all been worth it to me. I am taking an RX to help with the constipation now and plan to continue the shot until my next Dr's visit in September; we'll see from there."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Started on .25 and now onto .5 for the next 4 weeks. My side effects have been mild nausea, a lot of constipation, slight anxiety, mild diarrhea, mild tummy ache, intermittent tiredness, and feeling somewhat under the weather. There is no pattern, it’s random. I do think it’s the medication, as prior to this, I had none of these symptoms. It is not great, but tolerable. I think the meds are really kicking in now. If I have a small snack, the nausea subsides. I have little to no appetite, probably consume 1000 calories a day. And my mind is not consumed with food, and before I had an obsession with food. For me, it’s been life-changing. I put on 15 kg during Covid lockdown. Was 85 kg, now 81 kg."

For Chronic Kidney Disease "Took .25 for 4 weeks, now on week 3 of .5. Hardly eating, feel full all the time. A lot of burning, hiccups during the night, general tired feeling, losing some weight, some constipation. Supposedly will get balance at 12 weeks. Will see. So far, not comfortable. Pharmacist recommended Prilosec for gas, hiccups, etc."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve always had a BMI of around 23-25, but menopause saw my appetite skyrocket, and it went to 26. I’m 5'5" and my weight went up to 166 pounds on a slight frame. My private doctor in the UK started me on Ozempic for weight loss. It cost £120 a month (sorry USA folks, but you pay way too much for your drugs!), and after a month on 0.25, I’m now on 0.5. I don’t want wine or sweet things noticeably, and I’ve lost about 4 lbs, but now I’m on a higher dose, this is accelerating. I feel like the old me in terms of being able to control my food, which is great! Side effects are occasional nausea and near-constant acid reflux, but I can control this with Rennie right now, and also constipation, unless I drink a lot of water. It’s really worked for me to prevent a slide into obesity."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I've been taking Ozempic since January 2022 for weight loss. I started out with a 0.25 mg weekly injection, which was increased to a 0.5 mg weekly injection after the first pen. To date, four months later, I've lost 33 pounds, down to 265 pounds from 298 pounds. My appetite is significantly reduced, and I've implemented healthy diet changes with the help of the weight loss clinic where I'm a patient. Recently, I began experiencing constipation, which is a known side effect. My physician recommended Miralax to combat the constipation."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been using it for about 1 1/2 months and have lost 14 pounds. I don't have much of an appetite, but some of the other side effects are bloating, constipation, diarrhea, throwing up, and feeling very tired. I love the weight loss, but the side effects are too much!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was on Ozempic (0.5) for 11 months. I had all of the worst gastric symptoms the entire time. Constant diarrhea, constipation, sulfur burps, constant rumbling stomach, VERY loud and odoriferous flatulence, and no real control over bowel movements. I was wearing diapers so I could sleep because I was afraid I would not have time to get to the bathroom. My A1c went from 16+ to 6.6 in 3 months, so I stuck with it. However, I had lost 70 lb. before I started it - and gained back 40! I eat right and did exercise (until the gastric situation was too bad). It has taken 6 weeks, and I finally feel normal, but my A1c has shot up to 13 in that time (which means it's probably higher than that). I don't have any other chronic illness besides diabetes - no gastric issues before that."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Ozempic at the end of July 2019. After 10 years of Metformin 1000 mg a.m. and p.m. & Januvia, the result turned into explosive diarrhea. Tried Jardiance, which resulted in yeast infections. Then Janumet, all of these with Metformin. Constipation. Started Ozempic in July, 0.5 mg with Metformin. Lost weight and appetite suppressed, but diarrhea continued. Changed to 1000 mg Metformin in a.m. & Januvia in p.m. Constipation again. Changed to 1 mg Ozempic after several months and 1000 mg Metformin in a.m. and 500 mg p.m., no Januvia. Constipation. Finally taking 1 mg Ozempic and 750 mg Metformin a.m. and p.m. works great. Bowel movements normal. My daily readings went down using Ozempic. No side effects. Lost 19 lbs. Not due for A1C until December. Love it. Went from 200 lbs to 181. Sugar cravings decreased. Feel positive. I am an active 70-year-old female. I don’t plan on taking Ozempic forever because the possible long-term thyroid side effects scare me."

For Type 2 Diabetes "At first I was scared to use it because I am insulin resistant and I know this is not insulin, but still a hormone. The worst side effect I had was the constipation, but that resolved in about a month. Now I love this medication! Blood glucose stays in the normal range and my A1c has dropped from 7.3 to 6.5, and that's after 5-6 weeks! I've not lost weight, but my goal is for glucose maintenance."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Ozempic for about 3 months. At first, it was great. I wasn't hungry and felt so much better. Increased to 0.5, and I feel terrible. I've gained 15 lbs, I'm bloated and sick, constipated, exhausted, elevated heart rate, ventricular tachycardia, my period was on point every month, but now it's messed up. I feel full but hungry, and it never stops. Have Dexcom, sugar between 250 and 390 always, but my A1C has dropped from 8.4 to 6.4 (I don't understand that). I hate milk, but since I've been on Ozempic, I crave it and have become addicted to it. I drink a gallon a day. Literally. On the 0.25, I was very hopeful and thought this would be great for me, but it is not. I see my endocrinologist soon to discuss other options. Overall, I'm exhausted, sleeping all the time, elevated heart rate, weight gain, milk addiction, messed up period, constipation, increase in physical pain and depression, headaches for days after injection... just not worth it to lower A1C only 2 points."

"So after 7 weeks on Ozempic, I’m calling it a day. It not only got rid of my appetite completely, it left me unable to look at food and cook for my family. I developed a complete aversion to food. This left me with no energy, anxious and depressed. It’s not worth it. I am unable to exercise and have now lost the love of life. Two days after injection is the worst, particularly with nausea, and the constipation is terrible."

"I noticed my husband, who is diabetic, losing weight even though his food intake was not lessened much. For myself, I exercise for approximately 2 hours every day, eat very little, and my weight does not shift. So, in trying Ozempic, in one month, I have lost 10 lbs (eating some naughty things) but mostly just eating like 'normal' people. I feel like I can cheat a little, and my body still eliminates the calories. Being tired of not enjoying food and feeling guilty if I did was a terrible trap. This weight loss keeps me encouraged. I feel no side effects that I have not had from dieting in the past, like diarrhea or constipation, but the diarrhea only lasted a day. The constipation lasted 4 days, and then I was fine. I am a normal, healthy person, so using this drug does not cause me any other side effects. Listing every possible side effect is just a legal requirement, in my opinion. I take a 1 mg dose, am a 67-year-old woman, and have tried every possible form of weight loss. In 67 years, I finally feel free!"
