Rizatriptan for Migraine "I have had migraines since I was 11. When people say they are not hereditary... they are wrong. My grandma, mom, sisters, and brothers all have them, they did not even skip a generation... My daughter and nieces as well get them. My physician calls mine sinus migraines. I get stomach pain, vomiting, an aura, light sensitivity. They had me on Demerol, Percocet, Phenergan, Imitrex, nothing helped. I have been on Maxalt a few years, and the one thing I have noticed is that I get pain around the upper jaw area just under the ear... then, all of a sudden, like the snap of a finger, all pain is gone in 15 to 25 minutes. It makes me drowsy. I wake up from my nap feeling great but really thirsty."

For Migraine "This medication is amazing! It is the only med that has touched my monthly migraines, which are debilitating. I will continue to use this in the future. I told my husband this is a miracle pill for me. I wish I would have discovered it 20 years ago. The only side effect is sleeping well at night. During the day, a bit drowsy, but no big deal."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "I have been using Maxalt for about 5 plus years now. I have tried other migraine meds, but Maxalt is the only one that helps the migraine pain and allows me to function. Before this med, I would have to take my usual trip to the emergency room for treatment, and a few times, I was actually hospitalized for the pain and dehydration. It was terrible, but now I can depend on Maxalt, it is a miracle."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "This little wafer gave me life back! I used to suffer every week, at least one attack. Not only does this kill the feeling of my brain bursting through my skull, but it stops the vomiting. Saved my life, I felt I couldn't continue my life with such a debilitating condition."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "I've always had 3-day migraines. Maxalt will take it away in about 35 minutes. Sometimes I would have to take another one (dissolved in my mouth) the next day. I cannot stress enough how much I love this medicine. I come from days when Darvon's were given for migraines, they didn't do anything but zombie you with the pain. I thank the scientist who figured out how to control whatever it is that is being controlled. Of course, it is too expensive. Without insurance, I would have to suffer, as they are about $32 per pill!"

Rizatriptan for Migraine "I had a horrible migraine for 4 days. I was throwing up from pain in my head and neck, weak, dizzy, blurred vision, and felt confused. I also couldn’t sleep. After taking Maxalt, within a couple of hours, I felt complete relief. I had some side effects of heavy limbs, trouble concentrating, and lethargy, but I also felt really calm and relaxed for the first time in days. I highly recommend."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "I have suffered with migraine since I was 12 years old, and I'm now in my 50s. I've had every head exam and test possible, as well as tried a myriad of medications over the years for treatment. From taking preventive type things daily to treating the pain only during the headache. Nothing has given me the swift relief as this drug. It seems to give me complete relief within 30-40 minutes, without any side effects (that I've noticed). I took Imitrex for years with little relief and horrible side effects. It would make me feel dizzy, weird, and always made me nauseous. So I stopped taking it. Now with the Maxalt, I'm thrilled to know I can take it without worry of unwanted side effects. Thank you, Maxalt! Finally, migraine relief!"

Rizatriptan for Migraine "This is an amazing medicine that I cannot live without. No side effects and completely knocks out the pain. Only once or twice did I need a second dose. It's a lifesaver. My insurance still covers it, so I am lucky."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "I get very occasional migraines, sometimes out of the blue, sometimes exercise-triggered. I always get a visual aura minimum, sometimes get pins and needles down one side. Untreated, I will get the tropical crashing migraine, but thankfully, not for more than a day. I used to use Migraleve but often couldn't keep the tablets down. Maxalt Melt has been fantastic. If I can get one within 20 minutes to half an hour of the visual aura and get to bed, it will knock me out for a few hours. I either escape the headache completely or have a fairly short-lived one, say 2 hours. No sickness either. Superb drug."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "I have been taking Maxalt for migraines for the past five years. This medication is the only one I have found that really takes care of the migraine and any residual headache. The generic ones don't work for me."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "Have used Maxalt and generic versions of it for years with good results, must take at first signs of a migraine. I also have discovered that if you take it at least 1 hour before bed, it is very helpful in reducing hot flashes at night, thus, it is something I discovered on my own, but it works."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "This medicine is a miracle drug. I have migraines that last for 3 days, and until my doctor prescribed Maxalt, I could not get rid of them or function properly. Now I take a pill, and within 30 min, it is gone. My life is so much nicer, I am up, moving around, exercising, and actually living my life like a normal person."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "I suffered from severe migraines for years and all the side effects that go with them. Nothing so much even eased the symptoms off even a little. Then in 2000, my doctor prescribed Maxalt. I placed the dissolving tablet under my tongue, and in less than 15 minutes, my symptoms started fading, in less than 30 minutes, they were gone completely! Truly a miracle drug that I could not live without. If you haven't tried it, it's time to talk to your doctor."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "99% of the time, my migraine symptoms fade within an hour. I have had to take a second tablet only twice in ten years. I can function as normal. The only drawback is feeling tired and increased urination, but compared to going through a 36-hour migraine, that's nothing!"

For Migraine "Rizatriptan worked wonders for me. I had migraines with nausea, dizziness, numbness in my face, and pain down my neck. The first time I took it, I felt weird with heart palpitations, but the next time I took half, and I was fine. Now, when I feel a migraine coming, I take 1, and it's absolutely gone within 30 minutes. And I feel normal! Life saver!!!"

Rizatriptan for Migraine "Suffered from hemiplegic migraines from 15-32, then they stopped. Age 40 now and recently had catheter ablation. Had three migraines with aura the day of surgery and 8 in the subsequent 10 days. Maxalt has been a godsend for me. After the aura, I have no migraine pain!"

Rizatriptan for Migraine "Maxalt helped with my migraines, however, the aftereffects left me depressed, with chest pains, a sore neck, achy all over, tired, and dizzy. I also found myself having to pee way more than normal, and it made me feel like I was dying, in a sense. I have a brain tumor and for sure thought it turned to cancer and spread through my body before realizing it was the meds. I haven't taken any in a few days and already feel so much better."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "I have only experienced a handful of migraines as an adult (had them often as a child, but they ended with puberty), but frequency has increased to 3 within the last year. This was the first time I have had migraine medicine to take. The doctor gave me a few different samples - Maxalt 10 mg was the one I took. It was really AMAZING that within 5 minutes of taking it, the vice-like pain was gone. I did experience extreme fatigue, some nausea, diuresis (clammy & sweaty), and some muscle pain, but, to be honest, I just tried to sleep through most of it. I woke up about 2 hours later feeling better and able to function again. Next time, I will ask for a prescription for 5 mg, which may decrease the side effects."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "I've tried many prescriptions for migraines. Maxalt is the only thing that works for me 99% of the time (I can't remember the last time I had to take a second dose for it to take effect). Within 1 hour of taking it, my migraine goes away. Nothing else comes close to this effectiveness for me. I normally do get one side effect - but it's one I've actually come to welcome. It makes me drowsy - but after having a migraine, I look forward to going to sleep as fast as possible and just sleep away the migraine as the medicine works its way through my system."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "If taken at the start of a migraine, this medicine works wonders. There are side effects such as dry mouth, tiredness, and joint aches. But, as anyone who has migraines knows, that is a small price to pay for relief from the migraine itself."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "I am 56, and I've suffered with migraines since I was 5 years old. Maxalt is the only migraine medication that has worked wonders for me! I take one as soon as I get the slightest beginning of a migraine, and it is gone in 20 minutes! Not only that, but I've been taking it for 3 years now, and I used to get 2 or 3 migraines a month, and now I only get about 1 every 2 months! Maxalt has been like a miracle for me. I no longer have to suffer with horrible headaches! Additionally, I have not experienced any side effects!"

Rizatriptan for Migraine "I have suffered from hormonal migraines since puberty and am now in my fifties. I tried every option the doctor could offer, but nothing helped until I found Maxalt-MLT about ten years ago. I call them my magic pill as they can clear a migraine completely within an hour. Very occasionally, I have to take a second dose. They work for me with minimal side effects and are worth every penny. I'm in the UK, so I can get them on prescription."

For Migraine "It's not the best for 'me', sometimes it just doesn't work as well as I personally need it to work, and it takes too long to start working. On another note, just trying to open the foil from the paper is enough to add to anyone's migraine, and I do have nails, so I feel sorry for those without any to help open it. Consider revising the packaging, it's extremely hard to get to the pill itself."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "I have a very bad migraine since one year. And I went through many medications and tried heaps of tablets, but none of them worked. And then finally my GP prescribed me with Maxalt, and guess what! As soon as I put it on my tongue, I felt a sense of relief, and after half an hour my pain was totally gone. What a great feeling! Just amazing."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "I've had migraines for over 40 years. As a teenager, they were hormonal only. I didn't have any while pregnant! Afterwards, they came back and are now weather pressure, hormonal, and allergy-related. I have to go rest if I need a Maxalt 10 mg due to side effects. Maxalt 5 mg allows me to continue to work, but I don't feel I could drive as eyesight and reactions are impaired. I have found if you need a 2nd Maxalt, that's okay, but a 3rd will increase the migraine, like taking too many pain meds. If you do this, you need to regulate yourself back to no meds to get the migraine to go."
