Rizatriptan for Migraine "I have suffered with migraine since I was 12 years old, and I'm now in my 50s. I've had every head exam and test possible, as well as tried a myriad of medications over the years for treatment. From taking preventive type things daily to treating the pain only during the headache. Nothing has given me the swift relief as this drug. It seems to give me complete relief within 30-40 minutes, without any side effects (that I've noticed). I took Imitrex for years with little relief and horrible side effects. It would make me feel dizzy, weird, and always made me nauseous. So I stopped taking it. Now with the Maxalt, I'm thrilled to know I can take it without worry of unwanted side effects. Thank you, Maxalt! Finally, migraine relief!"

For Migraine "Rizatriptan worked wonders for me. I had migraines with nausea, dizziness, numbness in my face, and pain down my neck. The first time I took it, I felt weird with heart palpitations, but the next time I took half, and I was fine. Now, when I feel a migraine coming, I take 1, and it's absolutely gone within 30 minutes. And I feel normal! Life saver!!!"

Rizatriptan for Migraine "Maxalt helped with my migraines, however, the aftereffects left me depressed, with chest pains, a sore neck, achy all over, tired, and dizzy. I also found myself having to pee way more than normal, and it made me feel like I was dying, in a sense. I have a brain tumor and for sure thought it turned to cancer and spread through my body before realizing it was the meds. I haven't taken any in a few days and already feel so much better."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "Maxalt made me very, very ill. It was to replace Imitrex, which makes me ill too, but better than this any day! Dizzy, drowsy, nauseated, hot flashes, so tired I can't keep my eyes open and numb. My feet go numb and my hands. It's horrible, and the headache returns in about 5 hours. Do not recommend if you are sensitive to medications!"

Rizatriptan for Migraine "Maxalt is a lifesaver. I have been using this med for 7 years. Most times, I have to take 2 pills within 24 hours. My problem is I wait and hope my headache won't turn into a migraine. Then, when it is a migraine, I take the pill. By then, it takes hours for the migraine and aura to break. The side effects I can deal with: tiredness, mild nausea, and some dizziness. I recommend Maxalt to anyone who can benefit from it."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "I was prescribed this medication because I was experiencing severe migraines multiple times a month. After taking the medication, I usually have to take another pill an hour later, and my headache symptoms will go away. It makes me very sleepy and gives me slight chest pain that feels like heartburn. If I don't rest right after taking it, the headache still goes away, but I get severe nausea, dizziness, and tightness in my chest. The side effects eventually go away, but they are awful while they are occurring. The trade-off of headache and side effects doesn't seem really worth it to me, but that's just my opinion."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "Yesterday was my first time when I took Maxalt-MLT to cure my migraine. My doctor prescribed this drug six months ago, but all those months I had no incidence of a migraine. Yesterday was again after my weightlifting workout. I only get migraines after a workout the last few years. I always get aura for about 20 minutes before a headache begins. That is good, the doctor said, because I can take Maxalt faster before the pain begins. My first impression is that the aura lasted about 15 minutes, and the pain was bearable. On a scale of ten, I would say 6.5, compared to other times that reach 9-10. The first 10 minutes, I was feeling a little bit weird and a little dizzy. After 90 minutes, the migraine went away. I think it needs about 90 minutes to act."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "I've had headaches since I was little, but once I got to college, they progressed into intense migraines. I tried Imitrex and other various painkilling drugs without any relief. I am so thankful my doctor prescribed this drug. It's been the only lifesaving relief from my migraines, which include nausea, excruciating pain, sensitivity to light, sound, and motion, as well as dizziness. I take a Maxalt along with a 200 mg Celebrex and 2 extra strength Tylenol as soon as I can get to it when I feel the onset of a migraine. It works in about 30 minutes, sometimes a little longer if I wait too long to take it. Anyone who is suffering, I would strongly recommend talking to your doctor, as another wrote, 'Well worth the co-pay!'"

Rizatriptan for Migraine "I have suffered from migraines since I was 19 (now 23). My migraines were debilitating and caused me to miss a lot of school, so my doctor prescribed me Maxalt. Maxalt almost always cures my migraines within 1-2 hours! The relief is long-lasting; one dose and I am usually pain-free for an entire day. For me, side effects are infrequent and usually very minor (sleepiness, dizziness, “foggy brain”). To elaborate on the “foggy brain” side effect, post-headache I would sometimes experience a feeling of euphoria combined with a difficulty concentrating. Usually, this is not a big deal, but if I was taking an exam, it would slightly affect my performance and concentration. Overall, a great medication that has improved my quality of life!"

Rizatriptan for Migraine "This pill is like magic. I just noticed that the pill works in minutes for me, and I feel a bit of dizziness and like a burning head, and then the pain is gone. Today I got an early migraine, and I was able to use the MLT and work kind of slowly, but it stopped the pain in time. But I still feel very sensitive to light. Great medication, ask your doctor for Maxalt or Maxalt-MLT."

For Migraine "This medication helped my migraines go away, but the side effects were not worth it. It made me extremely dizzy and tired. My head felt numb and tingly, and my jaw and tongue were sore, as if I had been chewing for hours. I took this medication twice, but it made me feel super weird, so I will never take this medication again."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "I started taking Maxalt after horrible experiences with Imitrex. I had almost all the same side effects: extreme nausea, dizziness, falling asleep, and a general out-of-it feeling the rest of the day. But the worst part is that it did absolutely nothing for my migraine. I am just glad that I had samples so I didn't get stuck paying for a prescription I would not use."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "Maxalt is the only migraine medicine I have tried, and it works well for me. When I take it early (before it becomes a full-bloomed migraine), it works within maybe 30 minutes, completely getting rid of the pain. I do have some side effects: most of the time, I feel a tightening of the throat for about 15 minutes after taking it (my doctor had warned me about that), and if I happen to be a bit tired when taking it, I feel a bit dizzy for a couple of hours. But it sure beats a 24-hour migraine."

For Migraine "Took away migraine almost immediately but absolutely knocked me out. I am very tolerant of being tired, so have never experienced anything like it, but I couldn’t even keep my eyes open about 20 minutes after I took it and fell asleep for a few hours at about 6 pm. I also felt dizzy and a little nauseous. But hey, no pain!"

Rizatriptan for Migraine "I have been getting migraines since I was 8 years old, and nothing seems to help. I started taking Maxalt 10 mg for a while now, and it's not effective at all. It feels like I'm taking a sugar pill. Although when I do take it, I get very dizzy. Personally, I don't recommend it, but if it helps for you, I say go for it!"

For Migraine "Worst medication I’ve ever taken in terms of side effects. I literally just got back from the ER from the side effects. Felt like I was having a heart attack, was nauseous, dizzy and couldn’t walk well, was flushed and had a 103 temperature, elevated heart rate and severe chest pain. Also a weird tingling burning sensation all over my body at times."

For Migraine "I've been having migraines twice a month for 3-4 days at a time each time. I was prescribed Maxalt 10 mg and tried using it last Friday at the onset of what was clearly another migraine. It cured it within 30 mins. It made me feel quite happy, but I slept for 2 hrs immediately. Then I felt so wobbly on my legs and quite high that I stayed in bed that evening. I did take another dose after 2 hrs which I think was not necessary, but the instructions told me to do so. Anyway, the next day I was lethargic and felt weird, wobbly, didn't want to do anything. Still feeling very odd - lacking in emotion and mildly depressed and lack of desire to do anything. I will use it again but only in emergencies, as listlessness isn't super fun - normally I feel normal at least when I don't have a migraine, now, a week of feeling weird and 'dead' emotionally. I am on Citalopram too, so possibly this is related. I can't really come off that as depression is for life for me, just the way it is."

For Migraine "I've suffered from debilitating migraines for a while now, and Maxalt has definitely helped me. I find that the earlier I take it, the quicker it is in ridding me of my migraine. I've found that it makes me woozy and dizzy, and later on, I feel cold sensations and nausea (not accompanied by actual vomiting), but I'll pay any price to rid myself of a migraine. Excellent medication, a true wonder drug!"

For Migraine "This drug was a nightmare for me. I'd just gotten out of the hospital and had bad headaches, so I was put on Maxalt 10 mg a day. It made me really confused, disoriented, anxious, agitated, dizzy, tired, and gave me bad rashes. I couldn't concentrate at work, had terrible memory problems, and lashed out in anger. I thought I was going crazy. It got so bad that at one point I thought I just wanted to die. I wasn't sure what the cause was, though, because I had also been put on other meds when I got out of the hospital. Then, after about 1.5 months of taking it daily, I started to try and wean off, taking a little less each day, hoping that it was the cause and I started feeling so much better. I felt like I had come out of a coma. I was thinking clearly again, my memory came back, I wasn't so agitated all the time, and my rashes faded. My headaches got worse, but I could at least live with that - what I couldn't live with was all the crazy side effects that made me go insane."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "Maxalt works. Sometimes I still feel a pounding in my head, but it doesn't hurt. Unfortunately, it does make me insanely tired, where I cannot stay awake. Thirty minutes after taking it, if I try to stay awake, I get woozy, can't walk straight, and can't talk well. Usually resolves after two hours, but most of the time I can't stay awake and sleep for those two hours instead. Usually takes another hour for the grogginess to go away. Makes it hard to take during work hours. I will also get soreness in my muscles, which makes it difficult to work out later in the day. But hey, it works and is better than nothing!"
