For Migraine "This medication always takes my migraine away. It is the only medicine that has done that for me. Sometimes I do get rebound headaches from the medicine, but I am pleased that I have finally found something to take the migraine away. I just wish I could find something to alleviate my migraines altogether because I get them way too often."

For Migraine "I'm updating my prior review where I gave this 8/10. I now give it 2/10. After taking rizatriptan every so often, it seems to work less and less, and I get a rebound headache every time, which is more painful than the original headache. I only take one pill, I'm afraid to take 2. It used to work for at least 4-6 hours, and now it only helps me for 2-3 hours. I have only taken this for a few months. The last time I took one was 11 days ago, and only 1 pill, so I am not overdoing it. I am currently in the middle of a horrible rebound headache from taking this as I write. I tried sumatriptan, didn't work and had more side effects. Topamax is the worst med on the planet. There has to be something that helps."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "Found these Maxalt MLT are the only things that work for my migraines. I try not to take too much as worried about the rebound headaches and often go two days of pain before taking. These work in about 30 minutes."

For Migraine "Rizatriptan generic/Maxalt melt works on me. Can't use anything else. Did have access to something called Migral before it was removed from my country that also worked. I've had to take 4 rizatriptan in 48 hours before, more than once. Have good patches in a month where I don't take this medication. Have been put in the hospital for a presumed rebound headache, but I had run out of rizatriptan, think it was that. Have had 2 healthy pregnancies with bright children, but the migraines vanish in pregnancy anyway!"

Rizatriptan for Migraine "I have used Maxalt four times in the last three months. The first time it worked fine and it was gone in a few hours but had heart racing. The second migraine I was concerned about the side effects but gave it a second chance. I had severe throbbing in my head like it was going to explode and then suddenly the migraine broke. My third attempt, my migraine was so severe that I had to take a second dose for relief! I find that if I take it on the onset, it works but still light headache and felt a numbing sensation. My fourth, today, no relief after the second dose. Took the third after four hours but still feeling the migraine. Had slight heart racing and throbbing pain. I may continue to see if this is the right medication. If not, then I think there's no hope for me!"

Rizatriptan for Migraine "My experience was mixed. I took Maxalt MLT as soon as I had my usual 'aura.' It worked within 30 minutes. The aura was gone, and I never did get a migraine. However, within an hour, I had a severe angina attack and had to take my nitro twice to relieve the pain. Nitro glycerin gives you a headache, so I think I'd rather have the migraine than the chest pain! My daughter took it and had a wonderful experience, took the pain away within 30 minutes, and no side effects at all. I guess I won't be taking it again. Too bad, it worked on the migraine."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "I had used Maxalt when it was relatively new, and although it is quick to make short work of migraines, it did cause me rebound headaches 80% of the time, which were never as bad, but still no fun."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "Maxalt always seems to be my rescue drug for putting off a full migraine. My doctor told me to take a full 10 mg tab (I would take 5 mg as it worked) to alleviate rebound headaches. Also, she wanted to limit my intake of Maxalt to 2 times a day/2 days a week/2 days in between. I recently tried this with other drugs she prescribed for headaches in between. I ended up in the ER yesterday with the worst migraine of my life. I'm looking for another doctor and blame the new regimen for the problem. Has anyone else been told about limiting their Maxalt in this way? I get anywhere between 2-6 headaches a month, usually."
