Rizatriptan for Migraine "Migraine gone, severe anxiety, agitation, brain fog. Also felt light-headed and had neck and jaw pain. Two days on and still feel weird in the head. Terrible medication, would rather have the migraine all week than take this poison ever again."

For Migraine "10/10 do NOT recommend this medication. Unless you enjoy the feeling of feeling like you’re on the way out, or possibly on acid. I couldn’t form a sentence, couldn't stand up straight, my sinuses were ON FIRE, my headache actually got worse, my neck and shoulders felt like someone was squeezing them, and I couldn’t keep my eyes open. I’ll take a migraine over the side effects of this medicine any day."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "I have been using Maxalt for about 5 plus years now. I have tried other migraine meds, but Maxalt is the only one that helps the migraine pain and allows me to function. Before this med, I would have to take my usual trip to the emergency room for treatment, and a few times, I was actually hospitalized for the pain and dehydration. It was terrible, but now I can depend on Maxalt, it is a miracle."

For Migraine "Rizatriptan worked wonders for me. I had migraines with nausea, dizziness, numbness in my face, and pain down my neck. The first time I took it, I felt weird with heart palpitations, but the next time I took half, and I was fine. Now, when I feel a migraine coming, I take 1, and it's absolutely gone within 30 minutes. And I feel normal! Life saver!!!"

For Migraine "This medication is great for my migraines and knocks them out, but the side effects often leave me scared. To begin with, I’m always knocked out in about 20 minutes, as it makes me extremely sleepy. So this is not a pill I can just pop in at work when I feel a migraine coming up. It is inconvenient to only take it at home in bed. Right before I fall asleep comes the extremely burning feeling of my sinuses, pressure in my throat and chest, and my jaw feels like I’ve been in a beef jerky chewing marathon for weeks. It’s hard to explain how this all feels, but it’s scary, and I just end up looking forward to falling asleep. I usually wake up refreshed with no headache. I got these same side effects when I took sumatriptans and asked my doctor to change it. She gave me rizatriptan, and I just pretty much felt helpless. Some days the side effects are worse than others, but I’m desperate enough to take the pill anyway because anything is better than the migraines."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "Maxalt is one of the only things that helps me with my migraines. I have had very good experiences, and it works 9/10 times. I do want to say, though, that I do have a few side effects from the medication. I get a very weak and tired feeling. Warm things also hurt me to touch, such as bath water or the steering wheel in the summer. It's just for a second, but it does happen. Also, one other weird thing is when I take my first couple of bites of food awhile after taking the medicine, my jaw will hurt. It goes away, but it's worth mentioning. Overall, I will choose the side effects 100% over the migraine, and I really like this medication."

For Migraine "This medication helped my migraines go away, but the side effects were not worth it. It made me extremely dizzy and tired. My head felt numb and tingly, and my jaw and tongue were sore, as if I had been chewing for hours. I took this medication twice, but it made me feel super weird, so I will never take this medication again."

For Migraine "I avoid drugs of all kinds, and I'm a usually healthy person. After suffering years from horribly painful headaches that would leave me vomiting all day and totally out of it (I thought it was due to a whiplash injury), my doctor prescribed Rizatriptan 10 mg. It truly is a miracle drug for me. I use the melt-away tablets and find the relief starts in about 15 minutes, and by 30 minutes, any headache is gone. I take them at the very beginning of symptoms. I do get sleepy, so I've learned that I can just take half a tablet, get the same result, and not feel so tired. I have had very slight jaw pain once or twice, and cutting back the dosage also alleviated that problem."

For Migraine "I was prescribed rizatriptan 10 mg for my migraines to take when they were so bad that other medication wouldn't seem to help. I took it to help a three-day migraine, it seemed to immediately help by reducing the pain. It did make me very sleepy, and I felt a brain fog like never before. I woke up in the middle of the night with a pain in my jaw like I had been hit with a hammer, and the tip of my tongue also hurt. It lasted just about all day. The medication helped my head, but it also brought on unneeded pain, so I won't be taking it again."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "I am very grateful for Maxalt wafers as they help me get rid of my migraines, although the side effects of insane burning and jaw pain last an hour before the wafer cures my migraine. Half and half if you can endure the pain, it's wonderful."

For Migraine "This rizatriptan medicine is terrible, side effects are not worth it, IMO. Migraine went away, but having neck and jaw pain, anxiety, and feeling weird in the head like when you first take an antidepressant or antipsychotic. It has been three hours since the first 10 mg dose and still have the side effects, terrible medication."

Rizatriptan for Migraine "My migraine did not go away. It might have only marginally lessened it. I went to bed for two hours and have felt terrible all day. This medication made me very sleepy. I took a second wafer some hours later, but there was still no improvement! Now I cannot take any other migraine medication for a whole 24 hours, which is far too long. I made the mistake of taking the second wafer when the first one wasn't helping. I already had jaw pain, so reading that others get it as a side effect makes me wonder. It reminds me of Imigraine, and I thought that was useless. Sydney, Australia 2015.05.18"
