Pazopanib for Renal Cell Carcinoma "I have been taking Votrient since Fall 2015. Bilateral Renal cell carcinoma. Left total nephrectomy and partial right. Small spot on liver at that time. Remaining tumors on the right. Due to surgery complications after right kidney surgery, sepsis, heart attack, and stroke. I am now 59 years old. Votrient 800 mg daily for about 5 weeks was rough...but I would do it again. Vomiting, diarrhea, high blood pressure, body tired all the time. My hair has turned white, most people like my highlights! My oncologist has been wonderful and I have responded well to lower doses of Votrient which has helped my side effects. September 2016 I received great news! I am cancer-free. Continue on maintenance dose right now of 200 mg 3x/wk."

Pazopanib for Renal Cell Carcinoma "I was diagnosed with renal cell August 2016. Started in my left kidney, metastasized to lungs and vena cava. Still have both kidneys and have been on Votrient 800 mg the whole time. I take it at night. Hair, all hair, is white. Side effects: tiredness, bad mouth taste, some gastric issues, and loss of appetite. First CT scan showed tumors were shrinking, I have another soon. Good luck and God bless to all cancer fighters."

Pazopanib for Renal Cell Carcinoma "My husband was diagnosed with right renal cell cancer in May 2014. A brain tumor was found on an MRI that same month, along with small spots on the lungs. Gamma Knife procedure done in May 2014. Right nephrectomy in June 2014. Brain tumor removed in September 2014. He didn't start Votrient 800 mg until December 2015 due to a small spot they found on the left kidney during a routine CT scan. Since taking the medication, his hair has turned from red to white. Other side effects include high blood pressure, nausea, diarrhea, and being tired. He was on blood pressure medication prior to taking Votrient. Now he is on three blood pressure meds, and now the blood pressures are within a normal range. Spots may or may not be cancer. So far, tolerating the med well."

Pazopanib for Renal Cell Carcinoma "Votrient nearly killed me by attacking my liver. I tried it twice. The first time was for 4 weeks. During that time, I had just about every side effect possible: change in taste, diarrhea, white hair, tiredness. I finally had brick red urine and turned yellow as it attacked my liver. I found out the side effects were so bad because a previous cancer drug, Opdivo, was still in my system. After 6 weeks of steroids, I tried Votrient again. This time, I got tired and had a fever within a week. A blood test showed it was attacking my liver once again. I was back on steroids. It did reduce the size of my tumors while on it, but was killing me by attacking my liver."

For Renal Cell Carcinoma "My husband started 800 mg Votrient 12 months ago, 3 months post-right renal nephrectomy with grade 4 renal cell carcinoma nodules in both lungs. CT scans 3 months later showed all nodules had shrunk, the last 3 CT scans have revealed no change, and he is stable. BUT he is suffering from massive bouts of diarrhea, as in some days/nights 10 or more times. He finds drinking the required amount of water makes him nauseous, but he looks dehydrated, pale, and is lethargic. Because of the urgent diarrhea, he is always worried about going places unless he knows where he can rush to the toilet, so he tends not to go far, so this really impacts his life. He also has vomiting at times. His specialist only says to take anti-diarrhea tablets and prescribed Maxalon."

For Renal Cell Carcinoma "Had radical nephrectomy August 2014, and I was clear until January 2016 when spots were found on both lungs. Had operations to remove the cancer on the lungs (big mistake). Cancer returned within 6-8 weeks. Started pazopanib 5 months ago. It's working! Lung spots have shrunk. Side effects seem to come in waves for me. I'll have a few weeks of normal bowel, then I'll have a week or so when it's bad. Hair has turned white (I'm 47). Bad taste in my mouth, I've lost weight (10 lbs), appetite comes and goes, but it's mainly not there. Ulcers in my mouth have gone, but I can't get rid of the ones in my throat. Blood pressure is normal. I feel tired at the end of the day (earlier than usual), but no real fatigue. Overall, I'm feeling good and still working. Keep fighting all, God bless."
