For Chronic Pain "Mallinckrodt 15mg IR oxycodone - I have needed to take Oxycodone for years treating chronic pain. After trying nearly all generics, Activis brand always seemed most effective, providing pain relief while not negatively affecting energy or attitude. Recently, my pharmacy unfortunately switched to Mallinckrodt due to supply issues. From personal experience, along with comments from others, they are not nearly as effective, seeming to have a placebo effect. I have long felt some manufacturers have changed initial formulations, thus altering its addictive nature and strength. At any rate, I am noticing less pain relief, more lethargy, and lack of motivation with extreme tiredness after taking IR Mallinckrodt. If others would like to share experiences, please do, as I am seeking viable solutions."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "Was taking 10mg oxycodone 6 times a day for an operation that went horribly wrong. I was always dizzy, nauseous, and tired. Started OxyContin 20mg twice a day and changed my life. Less Percs, feel almost normal. Now if the pharmacists wouldn't treat us like dirt, life would be good. Highly recommend."

For Chronic Pain "Oxycodone immediate release tablets. 100% the formulation has been changed & they are completely ineffective. They no longer work at all. KVK Tech brand of oxycodone is selling literal 'Sugar pills' tagged as Oxycodone. Aside from leaving you with a physically sick, ill, groggy feeling, they do nothing for the pain. Guaranteed the public was NOT told about the formulation change. I have been on these meds for many years due to a very debilitating painful disease. I am now homebound & bedridden from uncontrolled pain, and the fact that whatever they are putting in these pills now is making me physically ill along with something else that makes you so extremely tired you can't function. This fake 'Opioid Crisis' is the greatest medical disaster of our time, and decades from now our children's children's children will be reading about how millions have been left to suffer without effective pain medications & the Government changing the formulation unbeknownst to the public made those who need it physically ill."

Oxycodone for Pain "I have been on every ER pain medicine except for methadone. OxyContin is changing my life drastically for the better. I can now walk longer distances, help around the house, play with the kids and much, much more. In short, this medicine is a life changer. I switched from fentanyl which always made me tired and grumpy. God bless my patient wife. I have a new life and I'm so grateful!"

For Chronic Pain "I get prescribed oxycodone (Roxicodone) two 15 mg three times a day. Mallinckrodt was the best I’ve ever had. I was actually getting my life back and accomplishing more. And everybody, including my doctor, pharmacist, parents, coworkers, and friends, were telling me how great I seemed to be doing! Then I was prescribed Rhodes; I honestly didn’t know what was happening. The pharmacist scoffed at me when I told her that it wasn’t working. I went back to my original pharmacy, and they have been riding me. KVK Tech, which has been working well by all means. With no heads up, this month I was prescribed Amneal. Unfortunately, I am experiencing zero pain relief, withdrawal symptoms, diarrhea, yawning. This is absolutely awful; my work sent me home because of how bad it has gotten. Mallinckrodt = 10/10, KVK Tech = 7/10, Amneal = 1/10, Rhodes = 0/10. I’ve heard good things about Alvogen."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "I was on 4 x 5 mg Oxycodone IR for my pain. After a year or so, I felt I needed an extra pill to cover me for 24 hrs. Doctor switched me to OxyNeo 2 x 10 mg every 12 hours plus 5 mg of Oxycodone for breakthrough if needed. The first 2 days I felt great, OxyNeo took care of the pain, and I did not feel drowsy or tired. However, after the 3rd day, I started feeling very agitated and angry after I took my OxyNeo. I'm not sure what's going on. Has anyone reacted like this to long-acting Oxycodone? Too bad because I liked this long-acting one, but feeling angry all day is not worth it either."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "I have been taking this medication for over a year, hoping it would help, but finally gave up. It just makes me tired and sometimes upsets my stomach. It’s so insulting, the way we chronic pain patients are treated in the USA. I’m wondering if this is a political thing and if people are treated with more dignity and compassion elsewhere. It’s very isolating to have a progressive illness for which there is no cure, and having to fight with varying success for proper relief just makes it worse. Believe me, I used to be super optimistic and never thought my life would come to this. I still have short-acting oxycodone, which does help, but it’s not enough. There is nothing for extended relief and no recourse when an emergency situation arises that causes me to need more help than usual, e.g., my husband was in the ICU with respiratory failure, and I had to be there for him, causing more nerve damage, etc. But no extra medication, so I ran out a few days early that month and oh well, too bad."

For Chronic Pain "Recently, my pharmacy changed to Rhodes Oxycodone HCL 30 MG, and I am in constant pain since. It's much like taking Tylenol. I'm tired all the time too. Some other brands have some pills that are more effective than others, but this is the worst yet. This is the largest Oxycodone I've had, and I often choke on them. I know the gov is behind this nonsense, and pharmaceutical companies are attacked for having effective ingredients. The gov is doing all they can to get the worst pain ingredients. It's criminal the gov blocks pain doctors and specialists from being involved when they could bring balance, intelligence, and understanding."

For Chronic Pain "BAD BUSINESS!!! I have been taking oxycodone for years for chronic pain. I know the drug well. My pharmacy has been carrying the KVK Tech brand for a long time. Lately, the KVK brand has changed, and not for the better. It now makes me nauseous, tired, and jittery and does not work as well on the pain as it once did. I have spoken with another patient who is having the same experience. Looks like another generics corporation is cutting corners on the manufacturing process or using cheaper materials at the customers' expense. I will be changing pharmacies (presently Walgreens) next month to get away from this brand."

Oxycodone for Pain "Xtampza ER 18 mg, 2 times a day. Worst medication I've ever been on. Not only did it not work for pain, it made me feel like I was in constant opioid withdrawal. I felt tired, couldn't sleep at night, and there's no point, this medicine should even exist. Extremely expensive and extremely worthless!"

Oxycodone for Pain "I have been using this medication for about 6 months. Roxicodone 30 mg every 4 hours. It does work great, takes the pain away within a short time period, about 15 minutes once taken. I have had 17 surgeries and have been unable to do a lot of things until I started taking this medication. I don't feel tired or get a 'high' feeling. I am happy I found a medication that works for me. Only one bad thing - I had when some of my medication was stolen. I had to stop taking it. I thought I was going to die - I was in bed for 3 days. Like they say on this site, put all your medicines up and follow the directions. I wouldn't want anybody to have to go through withdrawals on this medication."

For Pain "I have had sciatica for 15 or so years. Went to neurosurgeons, actually 3, and was not convinced surgery would help. I have a leg length discrepancy, and my tailbone didn't form correctly. I tried everything. P.T. Chiropractor, nothing helps. Tried Gabapentin, it just made me exhausted. Oxycodone has worked for me."

For Chronic Pain "Rhodes Pharmaceuticals generic oxycodone hydrochloride is hit or miss. One month you might get a good prescription, the next month you might get 'duds.' They make me extremely sick and lethargic. I have diarrhea-type bowel movements, zero pain relief. I've filed a report at the FDA MedWatch. It is a shame the sick, the real sick (not toenail pain patients) have to suffer."

For Pain "Rhodes Oxycodone is worse than nothing! At first, I thought it was a reaction to something else I was taking. But now I see others with the same complaints! This stuff is crap! I feel tired, groggy, lethargic, and still in pain. I was on KVK tech doing fine! Now CVS, Costco, Community pharm in Texas using this Rhodes garbage. My life is ruined!"

For Pain "LIKES: It works on post-surgical pain. While it makes me a bit tired, I can still function and work. It does not make me nauseous. DISLIKES: It makes me so itchy I cannot function and need to take a 25 mg hydroxyzine with each 10 mg tablet. The histamine release is so aggravating that wearing clothes is just short of torture, and every pore feels like it has a live nerve in it. My bowels have stopped completely. The cons outweigh the pros on this one for me. I have read a lot on how addicting this is, and I cannot understand why - while it certainly did work on the pain, it made me feel miserable."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "I was switched from 40 mg OxyContin very suddenly without warning after being on OxyContin since 2009. The first couple weeks it took 3 hours to get relief, and at hour 5 became extremely tired, and pain comes back. Now, 5 months later, it takes a full 5 hours for 80% relief of pain. And still, at hour 3/4 I get extremely tired and have to wait until it starts working. I never sleep through the night anymore, as it's usually worn off after 7 hours, 8 hours max, and then I'm almost useless. It is the worst pain reliever I've had outside of morphine. Instant oxycodone works best so I don't have waves constantly. The OxyContin also worked better, but without anything for breakthrough pain, I have no life anymore or social life. I cannot go on any long drives or trips and avoid all events in the evening and early morning. My days are all timed. I was sick for about 4 days after the switch, and my doctor stated I wouldn't notice any difference. I have a bad tear in C4 caused by a forced procedure, metal neck, 2 torn knees."

For Chronic Pain "I have chronic pain due to dystonia torticollis in my neck, back, and hands. A neurological condition, it has affected my posture with tremors and pain. I have liver disease and the neuropathy that can go along with that disease. I was on hydrocodone. After a few hospital visits for my liver, the doctor changed my med to oxycodone (same milligrams of 7.5). My husband cuts all of my 15 mg pills in half because there is no 7.5 oxycodone. This is done per the doctor. My pills are usually from Camber Pharma. They have the side effect of fatigue, no energy, wanting to sleep all day. Two months ago, my pharmacy gave me the same pain pills from Amneal Pharma. They helped me. Lasted longer than 1-2 hours compared to Camber pills. I was not entirely exhausted all the time, helped control tremors. By accident, I found this info on the internet. You can request a generic pharma to fill your prescriptions. PA lists the pharma initials on the script after the mg or call your pharmacy."
