Oxycodone for Pain "OxyContin has helped me so much to live my life. I have no arms and only one leg from an IED when I was in Afghanistan. I suffer from phantom limb pain and numerous other problems, but I don't care because had I not gotten in the way of the blast, then a 2-year-old and 3-year-old would have died. So, I'm fine with how I look. OxyContin has made the pain bearable."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "I've been taking 80mg IR OxyContin for 15 years. With 30mg IR morphine, I have stage 3 lung cancer and colon cancer. My pain doctor stopped the 80s with no warning. I suffered for three months with withdrawals and had to go to the ER a lot. My pain has increased and the pain doctor won't do anything. He's scared of losing his license. Now the ER wants nothing to do with me. So I cry a lot sitting at home, wishing somebody would do something. I don't understand how they can't help me with the pain. I know they closed down Purdue, all those billions the lawyers took, but what about us, the people suffering from pain? Nobody cares about us."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "Due to a forehead injury, I have chronic nerve pain. But my excruciating pain was well-controlled when I was taking OxyContin 20 mg AM & PM, with 4 Tramadol and 4 Percocet 10 mg a day as needed for breakthrough. But that all changed when insurance would no longer cover OxyContin and the pandemic hit, and there is a shortage of generic OxyContin 20 mg. Now I take Xtampza ER 18 mg. I take it with a high-fat food as suggested, and this medication is useless. I'm so depressed and not sure how much longer I can go on. My doctor mentioned putting me on Dilaudid ER and Dilaudid 10 mg 4 times daily, but Dilaudid is stronger and I would rather not have to take something stronger when the alternative lesser medication used to work fine! But I can't go on like this much longer! For those that Xtampza is effective for, I'm very happy for you, but for those of us that it is no help, or in my case, I think it makes the pain worse, it's devastating! God bless you all!"

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "Have been in pain management for 45 years. Have been on morphine twice daily and oxycodone three times a day for years. It needs to be increased. But like everyone else, I am at the mercy of the dictatorship. Maximum dosage is achieved and, according to the government, my pain is under control and NO INCREASE IS ALLOWED. Doctor suggested Xtampa because OxyContin was denied. I started going through withdrawal within two days. Pain increased severely and side effects were horrid! My doctor put me back on the morphine, and I am back to my normal. Although the doctor swears it's a good drug. Look up how much kickback doctors make on prescriptions, sure they want you to try it, whether it works or not! Best of luck to all members of Club Pain!! In ratings, I can't do -10 so here it is!"

For Chronic Pain "KVK Tech Oxycodone is absolutely terrible. There is no pain relief at all, and furthermore, I have been experiencing withdrawal symptoms like I have forgotten to take my medication despite taking it at the times I normally do each day. I have chills, restless legs, diarrhea, I can't sleep, and pain is out of control. I see now that KVK Tech has been reprimanded by the FDA as of February 2020 as they have found them to be totally out of compliance. Why has their Oxycodone not been recalled as of yet? I would seriously like to know what percentage of active ingredient is actually in these pills, or if it is, in fact, a placebo. FDA needs to do more to protect patients against getting medication that is not in compliance with FDA standards. I am stuck with these placebo pills and cannot return to the pharmacy. It's unacceptable."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "Very effective. I have 3 bulging discs in my neck, 2 herniated discs in my lower back, and torn ligaments in both knees, had surgery on right, the left is next but still very painful, from a major car accident, left me disabled. I take 60 mg OxyContin 2x daily and 30 mg oxycodone 4x daily. And it has been a life saver, thanks to my compassionate Dr. who understands my chronic pain, I can actually live my life. And take care of all my adopted animals that need me."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "This drug made my nightmare even worse. In the 5 months I was on it, it caused me to gain nearly 60 pounds! Over 10 pounds a month! I had to literally buy bigger clothes every 2 weeks. Thank goodness for thrift stores! As for the pain relief, it didn't do as well as the Opana that I was on prior to the Xtampza. Then Opana was pulled from the market suddenly, though, supposedly in the reaction to the 'opioid crisis,' so I needed something to replace it, and the doctors gave me Xtampza that fall. I suffered with worse pain relief and rapid weight gain for 5 months, until they finally switched me to something else! I would not suggest this medicine to my worse enemy! You may not suffer from the extreme weight gain like I did. You may get better pain relief than I did. But beware, because some of us have *awful* side effects from this stuff!"

For Chronic Pain "KVK Tech immediate release oxycodone does not work at all. After spending a horrific month in serious withdrawal and out-of-control pain, I started researching to find out why this medication was not working. I found that in November 2017, KVK Tech changed the formula of IR oxycodone to an 'Abuse Deterrent' version that literally rendered the medication useless. The active ingredient is not being delivered once in the body due to the abuse deterrent properties. It's absolute garbage, no better than a sugar pill. Once again, they cater to addicts while legitimate pain sufferers pay the price."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "I was on Fentanyl 50 mcg per hr, changing the patch every 48 hrs, before asking to be switched to MS Contin 60 mgs TID, and that stopped working after over 3 years of being on the same dosage. Finally, my doctor suggested I switch to Xtampza ER 36 mg BID. Once I switched to Xtampza ER, my pain not only increased, but my breakthrough medications had to be increased to Roxicodone 30 mg every 4-6 hrs PRN. Finally, after 3 months on Xtampza, my doctor put me back on Exalgo 16 mg/24 hr and left me on the Roxicodone 30 mg every 4-6 hrs PRN, but I hardly have to use more than 3 of those per day and am no longer suffering any pain."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "This medication is great for my chronic back pain. I have been on the same dose for over two years, and it helped me get through most of the day just on two 20mg pills. Lately, it has stopped working as well, and I am having a lot of breakthrough pain as the OxyContin is extended release. From it working for almost 6 hours per dose, it now only helps for about 2 hours. It is great if you are also given something for breakthrough pain, but I cannot imagine being off of it, to be honest. I have had severe chronic lower back pain due to a pinched nerve, which causes shooting pain that goes up and down my spine and even causes my legs to go numb. I also have carpal tunnel in my right hand and fibromyalgia. Overall, this medication has been very helpful."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "Have had back problems for 25 years, my doctor has me on 30 mg 2X a day. My doctor is so scared of the DEA that it took a lot to get this. I really need 3 a day but he won't hear of it. I wish he would give me this and maybe something else for the breakthrough pain but he will not do it. Just glad I get this much."

For Chronic Pain "After reading a ton of posts about how this brand or that brand of oxycodone is not effective and not working anymore, I feel the need to comment on this. I too am in the same exact boat as everyone else. I wonder if it is due to the DEA forcing all manufacturers to reduce the amount of active ingredient (oxycodone) being put in all opioid medications, no matter what brand they are. All manufacturers are under the same strict orders by the DEA. This is all due to the ongoing 'opioid crisis'. If you think back, oxycodone started losing its potency and effectiveness around the same time a few years ago when the opioid crisis became mainstream in media news. The DEA did this quietly on an 'internal memo' to every manufacturer, and it was never to be released to the public and never will be. This has caused a lot of harm, pain, suffering. File complaints with the FDA, until then, nothing will be done to change this."

For Chronic Pain "2 back surgeries, the last one failed badly. Had a 1,400# horse drop back on top of me and reinjure my back, broke pelvis, pneumothorax, crushed shoulder, and numerous internal injuries. A 2nd back surgery made things worse. I have been in constant back and now knee pain for 16 years. The surgeon and PCP, who is a DO, said I would never be someone who had to worry about having pain meds taken away. Well, they did 6 months ago, and I have Advil. I can't shop, I can't care for myself, and I am at the mercy of strangers. I hope every day to let me find a pain specialist who knows about chronic pain or let me go the next time I become dehydrated, as walking to the kitchen hurts too much to get water. People are dying out here because I can't self-care!"

Oxycodone for Pain "I was on OxyContin 40, my insurance forced me to Xtampza 36. Compared with name-brand OxyContin, Xtampza is better for me. It works within 40 minutes, and it lasts 12 hours. OxyContin took 90 minutes to start working, and it stopped working after 8 hours. I wish I had Xtampza years ago. You must take it with food, taking it with no food or a very small amount of food is assuring you that you will experience pain and withdrawal that day. Since it's so expensive, make sure you are eating an orange, a bagel, or a cup of yogurt is enough, no need for a full meal. If you can't swallow the giant Xtampza capsule, you can open it and mix the contents with whatever you're eating."

For Chronic Pain "After approximately 5-6 years on OxyIR generic oxycodone, I have since 03/2019 been getting K-56 pills (KVK Tech Inc.), which within 2-3 days it was totally apparent they were NOT the same as the meds I had taken all these years. They are largely ineffective in pain control and cause a lot of suffering in order to not take more than prescribed. I consider this an ineffective drug with side effects, thus a negative experience the whole month(s) long."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "Xtampza does not work. It says take 1 every 12 hours. For me, it lasts around 3-4 hours max. I also take 800 mg ibuprofen. Oxycodone 10/325 worked well. It would give me 4 hours during the day, where I was pain-free. I felt like I had a little bit of a life. Anyway, I fell, which caused a compression fracture in L1 on my spine. My doctor knows how much pain I'm in and prescribed me oxycodone 20 mg. My insurance made me get the 'generic' one. So now I have to go to a pain clinic. My appointment is on the 10th. So, that's my story. It does not work."

For Chronic Pain "I have been on Oxycodone 30 mg manufactured by Mallinckrodt for 9 years. My pharmacy stopped ordering from them and orders from RHODES PHARMACE. I started taking the generic oxycodone 30 mg from RHODES PHARMACE 5 days ago and have been in pain ever since. It has given little relief, but not enough. I cannot function as I did while on Mallinckrodt's oxycodone. I hope there is a way to get back to Mallinckrodt's oxycodone as it works for me."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "My pharm gave me Dazidox in place of the Oxy that I had been taking for a long time. Right off the bat, I felt that something was wrong. I took a second dose, but nothing. I called the pharmacy and they said this is the only drug available. Now I am starting to hurt. My drug clinic provider won't talk to me. Said I should go to the E.R. or my family physician. They are trying to talk to the folks at the dunes. God only knows if I will get some help. I did get an injection of Toradol. What's next? This drug should not be on the market."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "I have been taking it for about 7 years. Started at 10 mg 2 times a day plus 7.5 mg Vicodin 3 times a day. Now taking 30 mg 2 times a day and 7.5 mg Norco 3 to 4 times a day. Before they changed the formula, it worked a lot better. It does give pain relief, but it doesn't last 12 hours, like they claim. I have a herniated disc in my back, also AVN in my hips. Just had my left hip totally replaced, now I need my right hip replaced before they will do surgery on my back."

Oxycodone for Pain "After a series of operations on my lower back, the nerve scarring caused chronic pain. After being prescribed one pain medication after another, I was finally referred to a pain specialist. In 2000, I was put onto OxyContin at 30 mg twice a day. After less than 3 months, I suffered very bad withdrawal symptoms after missing the morning dose. The pain during those hours seemed to increase tenfold. By 2003, the dose had increased to 60 mg three times a day. I have now been taking OxyContin for 9 years. I still have breakthrough pain that keeps me from most activities, and my heart and lungs have been affected. I would like to stop taking the medication but have bad withdrawals."

Oxycodone for Pain "I fractured my L1 in 2/08 and have had chronic back pain since. In addition, I have had 7 knee surgeries. My doctor is recommending knee replacements, but I'm only 36 and in no hurry to have it done. I've tried every kind of pain medicine there is. I found that Norco 10mg worked well but only lasted 3 hours or so, and I was developing a tolerance to it. My family doctor finally referred me to a pain management doctor, and he suggested OxyContin. I was hesitant at first because of the stigma associated with it, but decided to give it a try. What a difference it's made in my quality of life. I take 1 x 20mg tablet in the morning and 1 in the evening and live pain-free. I still take the Norco for breakthrough pain, but don't need it often."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "I've had orbital implants, neck surgery, and I am a juvenile diabetic since I was a year old, now I'm 50. The pain in my head, neck, and right arm, and the neuropathy in both feet are very, very painful. I've been on doxycycline for 6 years. It works great, but if you're treating chronic pain, take it when it's time, don't wait until the pain is at its worst. It works consistently better."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "I have been getting physical therapy, doing physical therapy anyway as epidermal delta cortisone shots into shoulder, back, and well-diagnosed pain, varicose veins, rheumatoid arthritis, torn tendon, and neuro-pain. I've been taking OxyContin 80 mg CR every 12 hours, with lidocaine patch, until the OxyContin was not covered, so I was now prescribed Xtampza ER 36 mg twice daily every 12 hours. It made me have withdrawals, sweats, changes in behavior, and not much analgesic pain help. This medicine makes people bloated and drag their butt around in pain all day. And nobody wants to take something that just gives poor sleep from pain that keeps you awake and bad dreams of how you still have pain. It should be remade or off the market of pharma for false advertising."

For Pain "VA is now prescribing oxycodone made by Rhodes Pharma to its chronic pain patients. This stuff is pure garbage. IT DOES NOT WORK!!! I went through withdrawal and was sick for a week as soon as they switched me to this. I, like countless other reviewers, now live with increased pain, nausea, upset stomach, and depression. My life has been turned upside down. This is how the government treats its vets. It's DISGRACEFUL! My only hope is that enough people will come forward and expose this fake garbage they are giving us."
